Derping... All Day, Every Day!

Kaz was running out of ideas for how to help with Sludge Bomb. With the Aipom poisoned, it seemed almost pointless to continue the tutor at the moment. The boy thought about it, and maybe it wouldn't hurt to just try again. "Nido, do the same thing. Use toxic, and shape it, than--" Kaz went blank. He didn't know what else to do after that. He was wanting to finish this tutor up so they didn't have to do it again. "Try launching it, after think you can't handle it." The boy gave up, the Sludge Bomb may never be complete. "If that monkey comes too close, use Horn Attack." This way, if the Aipom moved in when Nido was trying to use Sludge Bomb, maybe they could get him with a quick Horn Attack. Kaz was only wanting Nido to do the same thing over and over, because he had almost had it once before. If they can get that again, Nido might have it. However, if things don't get better for the tutor, Kaz is switching to more of an offensive tactic. It all comes down to what the man is going to have his Aipom do next. "Go, Nido." Kaz cheered, under his breath. |

Aware that you were losing patience with him, Nido decided to focus really hard on the next Sludge Bomb. Though he was initially a little nervous to do so, he chose to completely ignore the Aipom for a few moments whilst he concentrated on Sludge Bomb. He had had enough goes to know what was wanted from him, and what was going wrong, so he put his all into trying this last time. Okay, so it might not be the last time, but at least he may fix a lot of the issues he was having with the move. It is quite a powerful attack, so it’s understandable that he would struggle with it - but once you have it, it’ll be an excellent weapon. Fortunately for you, the shady man and his monkey were not going on the immediate offensive. He was a little curious as to what your Nidoran was doing, since he didn’t seem to be paying attention to the battle at hand. The man decided that this was in his favour, and smiled. “Use Tail Whip, then Scratch twice,” he muttered to the Aipom, who giggled darkly and began to bounce towards Nido. The poison didn’t seem to affect his spirits. The Nidoran finally paid attention and saw him coming; his face made it look as though he was about to be sick, which made the Aipom hesitate. Then, when he could not hold it in, he released the sludge. Several balls of toxic waste went flying towards the Aipom, hardening mid-air. The monkey squealed and tried to dodge, but had been caught off guard. The bombs hit the monkey hard; a good shot. The only problem left with Sludge Bomb was the time required for Nido to prepare them. He could not afford to waste so much time as he just had, but he had pretty much performed a perfect Sludge Bomb; all he would need is one or two more tries in order to speed the process. Feeling Triumphant, though, Nido gave a cry and charged forwards, ready to follow up the poison with a Horn Attack, striking the Aipom hard in the belly. The monkey skidded back on his rear, and Nido lightly ran back to you, ready for the inevitable return attack. The Aipom was very irritated, and winced in pain from the poison before running forwards, finally attacking. Nido tried to dodge, but the Aipom was very swift, and your pokémon found his defence lowered and a nasty scratch across his back and haunch. Both pokémon returned to their sides of the battlefield, neither willing to call it a day, though that turn had taken a lot from both of them. Seeing Nido's effort really shined up Kaz's attitude. His pokemon tried, and because of Nido's determination, a sludge bomb was formed. Kaz noticed the timing, and the speed to make it. Those would need work. But he noticed Nido's body looking fatigued, and this battle would have to end soon. Maybe the Sludge Bomb was powerful, and the attack they wanted to have in their sights, but this battle was going to call for something else. At least for the end of Aipom. "Alright, Nido. That was a good bomb. You're doing really good." Kaz smiled and gave a thumbs up to his pokemon. When returning to his more serious pose, Kaz quickly made up his battle plans. "I got two ways to go about this. A, you try making a Sludge Bomb, but release it quicker and put more of an arch to it. This way, the time it travels through air will harden it. After that, we can try moving it quicker and lower. However, you're getting tired, I can see that, so plan B is using Horn Attack... three times." He left it up to the pokemon, although at his current state, Kaz thought it might be best for the triple Horn Attack. Let's see what Nido actually does. |

Well, this is a novel technique, giving the pokémon a choice of tactics! It was a risk, and it meant that you were relying on your pokémon to make the right choice. Nido might have been good at executing attacks, but he could hardly remember the last time... As the man commanded his Aipom, however, your Nidoran didn't have long to choose. The monkey rushed in, whipping Nido with his tail before going in for a Scratch. Nido, your last 'suggestion' the clearest in his head (and also the easiest to execute) made up his mind in moments. He got in there before the Aipom could attack, ramming his opponent with his horn, sending the monkey flying. You certainly had an advantage of knowing stronger attacks; just before Nido could use another Horn Attack, the Aipom desperately Scratched, but it was not enough. Nido was hurt but it was simply not enough. Aipom would not last one more Horn Attack, let alone two, especially being hurt by the poison on top of everything. Nido struck, panting and hurt but not beaten, and the Aipom gave a sad cry before falling. The shady man merely looked at his fallen pokémon with a mildly surprised face. "Oh, that's sad." He brought out the monkey's pokéball, and returned him, placing the pokéball back on his belt. "Round one goes to you, I suppose." He didn't sound resentful, just a little concerned. He owed you money, now. "Let's hope that Nibbly can do better, eh?" With that, you saw him reach for the table and pick up the Rattata's ball. "Round two is the decider, it seems," he said a little dramatically, letting loose the tiny Rattata. She squealed happily at being out of her ball, and seemed eager for a fight. She was tiny, but not to be underestimated - for she had an egg move in her arsenal. You'd won round one, but it was close. Round two might not be quite so easy. Is the money worth this? FIGHT! Nido had done great! Being one less level meant nothing for the purple pokemon. Along with his victory, he leveled, and Kaz couldn't be happier. Nido liked to be strong, and Kaz could always tell he was taking fights seriously. Beckoning for the pokemon to return, Kaz knelt down to wait for Nido to get there. Nido, the victor, was also very low on hit points and Kaz could tell by Nido's, now sluggish, movements. When he got there, Kaz smiled, patting the Nidoran's head. "You did a great job." Kaz praised. He would've liked Nido for the next fight, but he couldn't. Wait, he could. Still kneeling down, he took a chance to look in his bag. Having his hand search like a mouse searching a dark house for cheese. After a few seconds, it was finally in his hand! The Hyper Potion he got a while back from a trade. Nicely thought, Kaz had this plan going. He reached over and sprayed the liquid medicine on Nido, healing the Nidoran! Now healed, Nido would be the fighter for the next round. Kaz understood that Nido used a lot of energy, more than he probably ever has in a fight, and that the defense of the pokemon was still lowered. It didn't matter. Nido was his strongest right now, and they had set out for a mission--learning Sludge Bomb. That's just how they did things. "Nido, you're staying in." Kaz said, hearing a little grunt of joy from the Nidoran. "We'll start off with a Sludge Bomb, right? Do the same things as always. Rattata is farther away, so it may harden more but it may miss." Kaz used a tone that showed his faith in Nido, "Toxic, fill it up in your mouth. Toss it when you know it is ready." The boy was always told by his parents, 'No one knows your body more then you', at times he felt sick. With such an old saying, Kaz still believed it may be true. |

So, rather than use a different pokémon (I see you are now distinctly sans-Spinarak) you’ve healed Nido and got him ready for round two. Don’t forget that his status ailments won’t change between battle, so while he’s healed, he’s still tired and suffering from lowered defence. But, of course, Sludge Bomb is near completion. Are you hanging on for that being your saving grace? With Nido healed up and raring to go, the poison pokémon turned to face Nibbly, that tiny Rattata, who looked calmly back at him. As you were talking, she even began to idly clean her whiskers, as if mocking you with her confidence. The shady man knelt down by her, and muttered something softly to her. She squeaked affirmative, and then, just as Nido was preparing a Sludge Bomb, you could see the small mouse study Nido intently as she concentrated. She was using Focus Energy. Then, just as Nido was about to let loose his Sludge Bombs, she was suddenly a blur - she’d hit him pre-emptively with a Quick Attack! If Nido hadn’t been so far in his learning of the attack, he might have swallowed the toxic waste by accident because of the surprise. As it was, he recovered quickly from the hit, and then flung the perfect set of Sludge Bombs at the Rattata. She tried to hop out of the way, and though she managed to dodge most of them and therefore the worst of the hit, one bomb exploded right beside her and she was hurt by the impact. Using her small claws to scrape off the gunk which hit her, she cleaned herself up quickly and thus saved herself from any poison chance. Congratulations, Nido has finally mastered Sludge Bomb! If that’s all you set out to do, then your goal is achieved - but unless you’re careful, you might lose this fight and owe this guy money. If you’re playing by the rules…. And assuming that he is, of course. He’s a shady guy, he’s always going to do things in his favour - but he hasn’t cheated, so maybe he’s not too bad. Plus, Nibbly is his last pokémon, so victory is in sight! Of course, too much use of Sludge Bomb might tire Nido out before he can win… fight tactically! Alright. How to start this thing off. Kaz took out a pokeball, and even though he had no intentions of throwing it, maybe he could scare the guy. Well, whatever, he placed the tiny device on top of his Poketch, and watched as it disappeared inside the device, materializing into data for it. He was traded Spinarak for a Sneel, a native pokemon to Alternia. But that wasn't all. He also took out the Lollipop item, and transferred that for a new Mareep. Nicely done, he resumed attention on the battle. "Alright, Nido. We got us a new move. This is what I want you to do. Use Focus on your defense, to get that back up for now. After that, focus on concentrating your poison attribute energy. We're going to attempt at a move called Poison Jab. After that, we'll have to work on Shadow Claw... somehow." He was insane. This battle was something he didn't want to lose, but he also had to keep going to further Nido in strength. Things had to be done in preparation of the new pokemon. What is it I speak of? Nidoking. Although six levels away, Nido needed to tutor some of this now. Kaz surveyed the battlefield. He agreed within his mind that he was insane. Nido wasn't attacking? What stupidity that was... Nido was his offensive pokemon, always have been quite the tank of the team. Kaz had many future plans for the small pokemon. Poison Jab and Shadow Claw weren't the only things he'd attempt. Eventually, it'd come down to Horn Drill, Water Pulse, and Thundershock. Oh yeah, you heard me right. Nido could learn all of these moves, and if successful, Nido would be a very tank-like pokemon for the future. The best Kaz would have. With so many hopes and dreams, they'd have to get through this battle, and many more in order to grow. "I have faith in you." Kaz offered his praise, and comment, and true feelings. While the Poison energy was only the start, and might not even spark anything, at least Nido would have a slight feel for the start. Next would be the jab motion, and then the combining of the two, and maybe a move to be thrown in for comfortably holding a poison-like strike. We'll have to see, but the boy almost could not wait. Such anxiety built up inside of him. What the man didn't know, however, was that Kaz might just unleash a second pokemon. He had a few more up his sleeve, and if the guy was shady, Kaz would pay him back with a beat up Rattata. It was just the way he had to be right now to achieve goals. Even though he was still in the events of a battle, Kaz received a loud beep from his Poketch. It was the lottery. He hadn't tried in a while, but he got the beep and thought it would be okay. He entered some numbers and hit a button to confirm it. Lottery Numbers "Go, Nido!" He cheered on. Edited by Kazuki, May 3 2010, 07:01 PM.

Nido was also quite alarmed that he wasn't to be attacking this round. Unsure if he had heard you right, he quickly focused on the hardness of his skin, reducing the defence loss a little. It was only temporary, though it might help soften any blows that would undoubtedly be dealt against you. But then... focus on his poison energy? He blinked at you, and looked back at the calm, waiting Rattata, and swallowed. He was always keenly aware of the poison within him, it was hard for him not to be, but he tried to concentrate on it anyway. It translated into a weak attack boost - again temporary - which might be useful in the coming round. And then he was done. Since to use another move would potentially waste the three move round you might have been counting on, he nervously did nothing. The shady man laughed. He couldn't believe what you were doing! He had seen your brief trading, and concluded that you were not interested in the outcome of this fight; you didn't seem to be taking it seriously anymore, in his eyes. Nibbly was his last pokémon, but she was his winner, and this was a free round! He had no idea how many more pokémon you had, but his confidence was heightened. "Nibbly!" he said curtly, drawing the attention of his ever-attentive rat pokémon. "I want you to thwart his defensive efforts - then go in for a Bite. Careful of those horns, you don't wanna get poisoned!" Giving a decisive cry, Nibbly ran forwards. Even though she was aware that her foe had already completed his round, she was naturally cautious, and Nido could do nothing but keep a close eye on her and try to dodge the incoming attacks. She was smaller and faster, though, and when her Tail Whip landed, Nido cried out in hurt surprise. The hard Bite which came next was made even worse because of it. Somehow, the Rattata managed to avoid any poisoning; she obviously bit quick enough to be in and out without sinking her teeth in for too long. She made happy, victorious noises as Nido recoiled, and the shady man looked just as happy with the result. It hadn't been a critical hit, though, despite her Focus Energy. You could see him fumble with a bag under his long cloak, and when he brought his hand out, he was holding a simple blue berry. He was obviously planning on keeping Nibbly in this for as long as possible, and could you blame him? Kazuki was disappointed in himself. Maybe he wasn't thinking, or maybe he just got stupid. Not having Nido attack, that rat pokemon had open chances. Nido didn't progress as much as Kazuki might have thought, but he was a start. At least the Nidoran was aware, even the slightest bit, of his poison attribute. This round, however, Kaz would make sure a move got in. "Nido, sorry about last round." Kaz plainly announced, taking in a big gulp of air. He had to think of how to take this. Having Nido attack would be fine, and maybe they should keep the tutoring until later. Kaz had plans for Nido, big plans. "This round will be different. Nido, use Sludge Bomb. When you launch it, go in and use Horn Attack. Don't leave Nibbly, turn towards her after the first Horn Attack, and follow up with another." Kaz was happy with his decision to use the three move combo, but just hoped it could work. "Ni." Nido said, telling Kaz he acknowledged him. "When you come back, focus a little more on acknowledging the poison attribute. It shouldn't count as a move, should it? If you can, do it. If you can't, then don't." Kaz maybe was thinking of upping Nido a little bit too much. On a different note, Kaz's poketch beeped. He didn't want to take too much attention from the battle, but he received a trade offer. Without words, Kaz loaded the newly obtained Spinarak in the pokeball and into the device to watch it go. He also took out of his bag a wrapped up Lollipop, which he then gave to a trainer for their Mareep. From the previous trade, he had gotten an Alternia native, Sneel. This team just got a bit bigger. Who knows though, my friend; maybe your sacrificed round, in terms of an offensive, will pay off now? Though Nido didn't pretend to understand the fact that he wasn't allowed to attack last round, he had faith that you knew what you were doing - so he shrugged your apology off with a low murmur, letting you know that he trusted you. He trusted you to make the right decision, and would follow you, whatever you commanded him to do. Sludge Bomb seemed like a safe move. Nido squared up to that Rattata as the shady man was giving his own commands; "Nibbly, I want ya to hold back, then use your move and follow up with a Bite." Whatever 'her move' was, she seemed very happy at the thought, and practically bristled with excitement. This didn't seem to bode well for you. Now that he was completely confident with the move, Sludge Bomb worked a treat; the Nidoran sent those toxic balls flying towards Rattata, and even with her small frame and quick feet, she couldn't escape them all. She gave a second cry as one of the exploded bombs oozed all over her, effectively poisoning her - finally, you might think. Feeling victorious, Nido then charged in for a Horn Attack, catching the rat by the tip of his horn and tossing her into the air as a nice side-effect. The Nidoran watched as she righted herself mid-air, though, somewhat like a cat (how about that) and landed neatly, if a little irritated at taking so much damage at once. It was her turn now that she had done her job and taken the hits. Her purple body began to glow a violent red, and she looked utterly vengeful as she charged at Nido, striking him with twice as much effect as his last attack. Whilst she was up close, and as the red was fading, she Bit down hard on his hindleg. She was already poisoned, so there was no need in worrying about that, so she hung on and did as much damage as possible - and, unfortunately for you, it was just enough damage. Nido's own superior strength and attack had been his downfall, as was the punishment of Counter. Nido cried out as the fight grew to be too much - his energy was just about running out, too - and slumped to the ground, defeated. The Rattata fled back to her trainer, her breathing light due to the poison, but otherwise victorious. There was no doubt that the shady trainer wore a massive grin as he made sympathetic noises in the back of his throat, and gestured lightly to Nido. "You do have another? Let's make it a fair two on two fight, eh? We're both down one, now." I suppose that's the risk of move tutoring during a battle. It either turns out really well - or really bad. Nido had done you proud, though; he had defeated one 'and a half' enemies. Kaz watched as Rattata used some weird technique, eventually finishing Nido off. Kaz felt terrible. Nido had just given his word of trust, and Kaz was the reason he was defeated. Oh man, what a feeling. It felt like a rotten piece was spreading through Kaz's heart. He couldn't be defeated in all. Hearing the man, he plotted what pokemon to through out next. He returned Nido, and held the ball to his mouth. Whispering "Sorry, Nido." before putting it on his belt. Before that could happen, Kaz loaded a pokeball and potion and sent it to a trainer who had a Voltorb. To receive such a pokemon would make future tutors easier when dealing with Nido's impossible-like tutor of electric moves. For now, Kaz had to remain focus on the battle with future sights of tutoring after it. "Go, Shrakk!" Kaz never seen this pokemon before. It was previously named before the trade and seemed to be a native to Alternia. This time, Kaz wouldn't tutor. "Shrakk, nice to meet you." the boy said, smiling. "Start off using two leers, and then go in for a bite!" Kaz had had it with this man, and would win this for sure. |

So Rattata knows a pretty annoying move that could defeat most pokemon with Physical attacks. Doesn't look good to me. The Shady Guy just saw how well it worked. My bet is that that is al he is going to do from now on...you what trainers are like, just going for victory, never just the thrill of battle. However you had a very slight advantage her. Snakes eat Rats, and Shrakk looked pretty hungry. The snake pokemon licked his lips as he shot a Leer at the Rattata, the pokemon didn't seem to do anything, an annoying grunt being heard from the Shady Man, guess he'd ordered a Counter, that failed. The second Leer again, prompted a pissed off "GARGH" to be heard, looks like he'd ordered Counter again. Relying on one move, not the best strategy unless you only have one move. Shrakk darted foward with it's snake like speed and latched itself onto Rattata. Chomping down hard, he seemed to refuse to let the little rat go, shaking her viciously. You could see some blood, tricking down Shrakk's tail. Was Rattata not only on the verge of fainting, but on the verge of death? That's not too good. But that's life. Anyway Rattata still had some fight left in her, even though she had just been spat out and was coated in blood. Next round should finish it. Good luck. Kaz rejoiced at the sight of Rattata losing. He knew it was bad to feel happy, seeing the blood, but couldn't help himself. He watched as Shrakk returned when beckoned for. That was a good round, counter failing, but now it might not. Kaz couldn't allow it to happen again. Thinking of what to do, Kaz came up with a plan. Maybe, just maybe, if counter didn't negate this turn. "Shrakk, use bind. When you have that rat tight, bite it." Simple orders, but with hopes of a good victory. The man only was going to let Kaz use this pokemon as his last one. Even if it is a shady man, Kaz liked playing fair. At least, in most situations. |

I'm wrecking this place up like a tornado of vengeance! Sideways is the best ways! Look out, Aro. You're about to be diago-NAILED!

The shady guy shook his limbs up and got ready for the final round. Look like he's just lost his head a little last time, and gotten cocky. It was certainly out of character, but nevermind. He had never been so silly to assume that Counter could be spammed before! He didn't even know why he'd been so foolish; hadn't he heard the commands being issues? But this could be salvaged, right? "Nibbly, we gotta take this seriously," he said, and finally gave her that berry you saw him holding earlier. She ate it hurriedly, and the healing effect closed up some of her wounds. Shrakk was still hungry for more tasty rat, though, and slithered forwards to Wrap the rat. She squealed, partly with fear, but managed to dodge the attempt. She still hadn't been given any commands yet, so she spent the time running about aimlessly away from the snake, hurting from the poison. "Nibbly, you can get this!" he called, and then decisively said: "Turn on it, use Tail Whip, then wait." She knew what 'wait' meant. Shrakk came down hard on that Rattata, and Bit with ferocity. She cried out at the familiar pain, but finally Counter was triggered; glowing red, even whilst in the Sneel's mouth, she struck out angrily at any part of the snake she could reach. Shrakk hissed angrily, but was forced to drop her and retreat. Looks like last round had been a free round for you; they were back on form now, though due to various setbacks and handicaps, Nibbly really wasn't looking too great. Derping... All Day, Every Day!

Kaz has to end this. Counter worked for the man again, after getting his head cleared. It was great, for him, that his head was cleared. But it sucked for Kazuki, who is trying to find the strength to get past him. Shrakk was rumored to be the last pokemon Kaz would use, but he couldn't lose this battle. Again, he thought about how he would get to the Rattata. Counter was used, and so the attack might not move again in succession. "Shrakk, use a leer, and then bite!" Kaz remembered how just a couple of rounds ago, he used his three move combo. Too bad, he could've really used it right about now, but no, now the battle would be dragged out. He needed to think, ahead, if Counter worked and the battle was to drag on. How do you get past a move like that if it is totally random when coming to actually working? This sucked, but Kazuki knew what might happen if Shrakk fainted. He readied for the next round. |
