http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laminin "Laminin is vital to making sure overall body structures hold together.” Colossians 1:16-17 (New International Version) For by [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. http://originalzchick.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/laminin.jpg Laminin is made out of three parts, which if any one part were to be removed, the whole structure is rendered useless. Or maybe think about it like this: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. HMMMMMMMMMMM........ If you can't tell, I'm Christian and I believe that God is real. Me, I walk my own path, taking my experience and shaping it into my beliefs. I believe that there is a higher power, which can't meddle in the affairs of mortals. Either because of choice or some sort of law, it really doesn't matter. I think all this higher power does is watch. Kind of like a really long TV show. Well, anyways... Someone said they don't believe in the afterlife, when I know it exists. Here's why: This last december, six days after his 53rd birthday and four days before Christmas (same day), my dad mysteriously passed away while taking care of a medical problem he had. Well, a few months afterwards, stories started getting passed around my family. There's a couple that my dad was friends with at his apartment complex and they say that every morning, he would appear to them, appearing as solid as you and me (I hope you're solid, can't really tell) and would have coffee with them. Another story was that my eldest nephew (who is now 3 or 4) was facing the ceiling and started playing peek-a-boo with the ceiling when the only person he played that game with was my dad. Yet another was that he appeared to my stepmom one night and they had a conversation and my younger stepsister (who was pregnant with my second nephew) saw the light from under the door and opened the door. Once the door opened, the light vanished and with it, my dad. My dad hasn't yet appeared to me, yet I don't need him to to verify all of this. I can sense him around when he's nearby. That's enough for me to know he's around. That and I grew up in a "haunted" house. Luckily, the spirits weren't malicious and one was quite a prankster. In all, I think things happen because we need to be reminded that this world, like all of us, are imperfect. If it was perfect, it would be boring. And with the question "why can't we remember our past lives?" I think that's because you're trying to remember by using the wrong hard drive. Human brains only operate from the time they're put together. There's an essance that's even deeper. Try remembering that far back with that. ![]() Yes, I'm a bit of a philosopher (can't tell) so this really is something I see as fun. So yeah, I think I covered all the questions that have been asked before me. So I think I'll end with my own question along this subject to everyone before me: The ones who don't think there is a god or even a higher power- what makes you think there *isn't* one? |

I think there's a God. My little cousin just recently passed away, and here's what I think happened... He was a very good kid-- did whatever his parents asked him to, had a 3.42 GPA, never argued with his parents, went to Church every day. He was also a very polite kid. So, upon proving his worth to Him, my cousin was lost in a mo-ped accident. Although my cousin was young, God decided he's done his part and said he deserves to be in Heaven with Him. And to the comment on "death"-- That's just the passing point from this life into the one with God. After living our lives and proving ourselves, He deems us worthy and we slip into Heaven. Yes, there are murderers and rapists that go unpunished, but in the long run, they will be. They will probably be living a life on the run, no time to enjoy life for their past crimes. Thus, once they die, God decides they aren't worthy and blocks them from Heaven. The only solution? Either Hell or reincarnation. This life that we are living is the ultimate test to Him. We're all here to prove to God that we are worthy to be in Heaven with our family and friends that await us there. |

Well, religion is an interesting subject, one up to high debate. Me, I prefer to wash myself of the nonsense. That's my view . You don't have to like it, but I refuse to accept any sort of condescending thing or pity. What I don't like is people pushing their own beliefs onto others. To each his own. Agnosticism is the only logical answer. However, I am Christian and I cannot force myself to doubt those beliefs, no matter how much I try. Therefore, I contradict myself with no easy answer. |

I am a believer of God. I have grown up in a home of believers ever since I was born, and have been put through private schools all my life. I just graduated and I really do feel that God is real. He has helped me through the toughest times in my life, and my testimony can prove it. xD When I was a freshman, I was sick with a disease I now know as Stills. I was in the hospital for almost a month and no doctor could figure out what was wrong with me. I had bruises on my arms because of all the pokes and jabs they had to take to get needles into me, and draw my blood. I came accustomed to all of it. So, it was just a normal thing. For months after that, I was taken back to the doctor for regular check ups. But the strange thing in all of this, is that, while I was in the hospital. It was at night. I prayed to God that he would save me from this, and make me better. I earnestly prayed. Wanting to be better was all I wanted, to get out of there, go out with my friends again, etc. About a day later, I was feeling much better, and the doctor's had come to the conclusion that I did, indeed, have Still's Disease. It's a rheumatic disease that is normally found in older people. xD But whatever. So anyways, back on topic. My life has been a dramatic spiral since then, going to high school, living life, having to wear one of those funny bracelet things. But I mean, it wasn't bad, but then I met what I now call, my best friend. xD Now, I know there is a God because he had to of gotten us together somehow. We were two completely different people, and it says in the Bible, that we as people need to come together with one another and confess sins, and have fellowship with each other. My best friend, of now 3 years, has given me the strength to keep the faith in God. I have stumbled, like everyone, and yet the bad things that happen in life, aren't for you to say oh woe is me, but rather to come closer to God and lean on him when times are tough. Satan is the causer of bad things, but God allows those things to happen for a reason. Something good will come out of any and every bad situation. You may not even realize it, but it will happen. And so, in conclusion, God is my creator, and I worship him as such. =] Those are my opinions. I would love to also defend the Bible and why I think that it is even more concrete than most people think, because my life in a private school has taught me why God is important, and the relevance of the Bible in today's culture and society. =] Thank you. xD =3 |

Trick-or-Treat
It would be nice if there was a place to go after death but them I begin to think. If there was, would we be able to remember our past life? What if there isn't? I cant picture what it would be like. All your thoughts just ending... forever. It seems a little scary. Of course, death is what we fear above all else. People have always been scared by the unknown. We reject it. We alienate it. We block it and try to forget but in the end it all has a way of coming back in you.
