@Nolan and Ashy Let me tell you a story about my mom. Spoiler: click to toggle Why bad things happen to good people, I don't know. As people say, God works in mysterious ways. @Citron They skin pigment thing strikes another good argument. If a Caucasian moved to Africa and lived there for generation after generation after generation and beyond. Little by little their skin pigment would start changing to match their new environment, I think it's called adaptability. Well thats how I see it. Edited by Striker, Jul 10 2009, 03:20 PM.

Im sorry to hear that Striker. I know how things feel when they are bad. But I fail to see a connection with that story with God? Fill me in if I've missed something. As for the big bang, im not sure you over there in the USA heard of this, but there was an experiment over in europe (under switzerland) not to long ago which has helped people understand the big-bang alot more clearly now. Using atoms the same way what the big bang happened... Uhh, I dont know the full info on that. But. People are saying it helped science alot, and is pretty much a success. |

The reason why my opinions on the big bang are that way, is cause they talk about an event that happened beyond human existence. Which is also what religion does, which is weird how they are connected in that matter, yet completely rejects each other. And I think people connect things happening good in their lives to god because it helps them feel loved, and as if a guardian is watching over them. Which would help them feel safe and secure in life. That's religions purpose, creating order among chaos and giving mankind a purpose to live. Think about it, how chaotic would this world be without religion there to state the consequences?

Ok, its not much of a secret that I don't follow the chatholic/christan faith. I'm Pagan. I don't believe in the same concept of God as most of you. We veiw Gods as a father figure to our belief and magick in our rituals. (this is where a lot of the appointed problems adressed early in may come into play as this is pretty much going to turn into a religious debate with all my luck.) Religion IS one of the oldest forms of worship, but there is proof that there was a point with no Gods or Goddesses. Religion was made and though today's society requires religious view to set morals and to help them decipher what is right and what is wrong, ages before there were no religions and therefore no Gods or Goddesses. Most of what people believe to be their meetings with God(s) are usually just life changing circumstances that were either coincidence or ordained by fate. >> My beleif fate has nothing to do with gods or diety involvement. Even gods are subjected to Fate's whim. Though Fate can be changed if one knows how to control ones own fate. Everything is up to the person in control. In history Religion was made as a way to put fear into the hearts of their followers to ensure that who ever controled the religion would rule without any trouble, while the evolution of religion didn't turn out as it was originally made, its what we make of it. Same as God. We choose to believe in them because we want to and to us God is what we see it as and has very little meaning other than that. /2cents |

Im not going to say much on this matter, except. Alot of chaos comes from the clash between religions. So that point is invalid. |

II was trying to explain the "why does god let bad things happen to good people" thing. My mom was a devoted Christian who gave up a lot for her faith and always worshiped god no matter what troubles. But in the end she died a painful death, I guess no one can truly explain why bad things happen to good people and vice versa. |

I personally don't believe in your gods. I wont say there isn't A god, but personally I believe there are MANY gods. Why? Because I can. You see, if you look into religion each one has a god (Christian have their God, Catholics have their god (same one technically >__>), Buddhists have Buddha, Muslims have Ala, etc. etc.) but not every god has the same story to why they are considered the god of said religion. Personally, I think most religion is just a way for people who have similar beliefs to follow one god which bonds them. However, I personally believe that every person has their own representative "God" that belongs to them and only them. Thus when two people come together to form religion their own two gods come together and form a new god with both people's beliefs, and this just continues as more people join religion. It is those who have no religion, at the very least, no organized religion that are closest with their personal god in my opinion. This is the reason I don't believe in your gods, but prefer to believe in mine. :] |

Thats a very good point Cupix, i mean Shad. Christians have the bible which tells its story about their god while other religions have their own documents or book or whatever speaking about the existence of their gods. Yet everybody feels like theirs is the real deal and everybody else are fake. Maybe people haven't come to realized one thing. It might be everybodys wrong and their isn't a god, or it might be that there truly are many gods. One or the other.

I personally am atheist. I do not believe in religion. I have found no use for it and in my experiences, all it does it cause problems. Billions over the course of man kind have murdered and been murdered for their beliefs when in fact no one can prove the existence of 'almighty beings'. I need to see it to believe it and to be one step ahead of others who may reply to me yes believe in air/wind. That is a common reply. "Well you cant see air but you know it's there." On the contrary we can see air. You can see the particles and the atoms that make up air. I'd like you to show me a 'godly' cell. Maybe we should ask god for a swab. ~_^ Now I'm not saying I'm right or that others are wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. It would be nice if there was a place to go after death but them I begin to think. If there was, would we be able to remember our past life? What if there isn't? I cant picture what it would be like. All your thoughts just ending... forever. It seems a little scary. Of course, death is what we fear above all else. People have always been scared by the unknown. We reject it. We alienate it. We block it and try to forget but in the end it all has a way of coming back in you.

@Shad you sound very Pagan @Rinjii this is what I said that Religion and belief is what you make of it. Atheists are people that live their lives without religion. They do not put their troubles to a greater being and take what they do as personal action. |
