Stella Mae's Journey

When the stars stop shining, dreams will shatter before your eyes. Know that you're not alone!
You walked through the crime-filled town of Kitjutsu, your pokeball safely in-between your holy hands. (Which have done nothing unholy with…right? *wink*) The sun was setting, leaving you alone of the darkening street. It was probably not a good time to be out in the public, not that you had much choice in the matter. As shops started to close, and people turned off their lights, you looked around wondering what was going on. It seemed that around here, people were afraid of what happened in the darkness.

Maybe it was time to get back to a Pokécenter? Wandering around at night was never a good idea, especially in a town like this. You turned around, and saw a massive person appear in front of a small girl. “Hello there little beauty, what do you got there?” he spoke, smiling a little. The girl stammered a bit, trying to reply. “It..It’s m…my Pokémon.” He started to tear up a bit, obviously scared out of her mind.

The massive guy cracked his knuckles, so loud you could hear it clearly. “ Aw, how cute. Maybe you should hand it over, last thing I need to do is take it with force…” he smiled, his extremely white teeth perfectly visible in the darkness. The little girl screamed, collapsing on the ground. Oh no! That big man was about to harm a little girl! There were a lot of options, but there were some you didn’t want to consider doing, but maybe you shouldn’t get involved.

Stella didn't give the defeated Rattata a second thought. Within seconds her feet were making loud clunking noises as she plowed her way up the staircase, clouds of dust undoubtedly leaping into the air behind her with every step. That probably sucked for Robin. ... Uh, she was following, right? Or maybe she was taking the opportunity to catch the now entirely forgotten Normal-type. In any case, it sucked for the Pokémon left to follow in Luffy's Stella's wake. Well, except for Drifloon. She floated absentmindedly past the dust and maintained a cheerful expression even with the looming threat of two opponents here on the second floor.

"You, balloon-thing! Since you're the first one up here, you can go first. Uhh ... Attack that blue thing, whatever it is!"

"Okiedoke," the Ghost-type answered brightly - though her trainer heard little more than 'floooon!' - preparing a proper assault on the Eauesprit. She knew it was also a Ghost-type, which could be both good and bad for her. However, she had the level advantage. She decided she'd start with Astonish, then try and evade any counterattack with Minimize.

Next of the Pokémon to reach the second floor was, naturally, Clefairy. After a moment of indecision as to whether she was really going to follow this half-wit, then realizing the only other option was to take her chances alone in a warehouse full of creeps, she had used her moon-power to float herself up the stairs. Unfortunately, coming in second place was not the wisest choice today.

"Okay chubby, you can take the Meowth!" Stella told the Normal-type brightly. She was answered with little more than a death stare, which (of course) Stella promptly ignored. Clefairy didn't want to give Stella the satisfaction of obedience, but she really wanted to beat the crap out of something and gain some experience while she was at it. First, she wanted to get the runt right where she wanted her. Clefairy would first use Growl to startle the stupid cat out of whatever hissy fit she was in. Then, when the cat undoubtedly charged in anyway, Clefairy would use Encore to keep her from using any other moves. Yep, that sounded like a good strategy!

Third to reach the top of the stairs was Velix. He was breathing heavily, since he had had to exert more energy than the girls. Not only had he actually used his legs, he had the unfortunate handicap of having to pull Skorupi up with him as well. The arachnid simply couldn't manage a simple thing as climbing a staircase. Something about his legs weren't designed for it. It was a nice gesture, at least, even if the bug wasn't that grateful. "Another battle! ... Heeey, there's a guy in that fight! That's not fair!" the scorpion growled.

"What? You don't think a pair of perfectly capable women can handle it?" Velix asked in disbelief.

"Of course not! Ladies are very fragile!"

Facepalm.

I know you're out there somewhere...
Your Pokemon are all very funny, and you have just made this ref so much more enjoyable, which is probably the only reason you're getting a ref from me, as I did get done with another ref. Clefairy seems to be the type who will give you a run for your money, should she have the opportunity to do so, which she would if she wasn't so keen on beating the crap out of something. Then you have Drifloon who seems to have completely ignored your lack of a name for her, having just simply called her a balloon thing. Somewhat chauvinistic and sticking to the stereotypes, Skorupi is also quite a laugh, and apparently has just shocked Velix who can't seem to believe that the scorpion actually said that. Instead of facepalming myself though, I simply laughed and immediately clicked reply so I could get you all set for your next post.

Having just simply floated up the staircase, Clefairy hasn't used much energy to get to Meowth, and now she was ready to set him off guard with a Growl, which would lower his Attack. Not that that really mattered to Clefairy, since she seemed certain that he wouldn't be able to get her anyways, having decided to follow it up with an Encore once Meowth went in for an attack. And of course she was right, and the cat ran towards the fairy Pokemon with claws out and ready to do some damage. Clefairy easily hopped out of the way and then started to clap her little hands together, almost as if she were congratulating Meowth. The cat didn't know why, but for some reason, she found that she couldn't help but simply go in for another Scratch. Clefariy was too busy clapping and laughing that she did get hit this time. You might want to get Clefairy to pay a little more attention next time, no?

Drifloon was facing off against Eauesprit, whom was a bit shocked that he was going up against another Ghost type, knowing full well that it was weak to Ghost type attacks. And it might have worked out fine, if he had his own Ghost type attacks to use. But he didn't, and so he was at a great disadvantage and knew very well that things may not go too well for him. Seeing you, he knew that he really had to fight well, or else he would be captured, and that was something that he didn't want at this point of time in his life. He shot off a Bubble attack, which Drifloon unfortunately flew right into. Deciding that maybe it'd be good to be harder to hit, Drifloon used Minimize, which caused her to shrink a bit and become a smaller target. Then she floated off and became even harder to see because of some shadows, and for a moment you didn't see where she went to, causing you to think that maybe she decided to run away. Suddenly, Eauesprit gave a great cry and you saw Drifloon had used Astonish on him. Tears welled up in the spirit's eyes, and he started crying rather loudly, causing you to believe that it wasn't real crying. That would be because it was Fake Tears.

Now with all of this, you should be able to come up with another strategy, no? Perhaps you could actually give your Pokemon some orders instead of having them fight on their own. Otherwise mistakes could easily be made, and that wouldn't be any good for you. So what shall it be?

The first of many rounds to come had ended successfully. Drifloon did a little happy-dance to herself, while uh... Clefairy posed and flashed a peace sign at the camera. Wait, what am I saying? T-there's no camera! Riiight.

"Are you ladies sure you're okay by yourselves?" Skorupi shouted frantically, scuttling forward in an attempt to intervene in their dangerous situation. Thinking quickly, Velix darted forward and grabbed the scorpion by the tail, using his teeth to keep the Bug-type from causing any trouble in this battle.

Suddenly, Stella turned to look at them. "Have you guys seen Sidekick?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern. Then she considered it for a moment. "What am I saying? She's fine! That Buneary is with her, after all!" A bright smile returned once more to her face, and she shrugged. Seconds later she was pointing a finger right into Drifloon's round face. "You! Use Constrict on the Meowth. Then Clefairy-chwan can Pound it right in its face!"

Clefairy wasn't sure which pissed her off more - that Stella hadn't bothered to directly address her, or that Stella referred to her with the Japanese honorific "-chwan" ... when she was clearly a "-sama".

"Oh, and if the ghostie-thing attacks, use the Meowth as a meat shield!" Well, at least she remembered there was a second opponent to worry about.

Well, at least you were taking charge with your Pokemon's actions! Good for you. They can't battle by themselves forever, right? Well, they could, Clefairy almost seemed to prefer it. Oh well, life is as life is, and there isn't really anything she could do to change that. Oh well, an order was an order, and it was go time!

Drifloon began the battle with no problems at all, her constrict attack was perfect, and she even constricted the Meowth in such a way that she couldn't free her arms enough to attack with scratch. She struggled to get away, but it wasn't really working that well, and constrict was great, because when Clefairy decided to come down with a pound, she literally did and with no trouble at all.

With that time elapsed Eauesprit's attack was a bubble in the direction of Clefairy. Of course, your plan was quite nice actually, using the opponent as a shield, although Drifloon's little appendages were wrapped around the Meowth tightly, as to not allow it to move, so of course, it did minor good yes, but some bubbles still got onto you as well, because well, Drifloon tried to be a hero and save poor Clefairy from any harm.

Then Eauesprit decided it was enough playing and it was time for a real attack. He ran at your Drifloon with full hopping speed and was ready to do a quick Lick attack at her. Enough time went by that Meowth had gotten loose from the clutches of your Drifloon, and she was trying to get away. Luckily for you, the lick attack only alloted wetness from the foot down, so even though it was super effective, at least it wasn't complete body contact. Lucky for your increased evasiveness.

Now the four of the Pokemon returned to their side of the battle, new bruises were sure to form, what was going to happen with the rest of the battle?
