“I never understood those that fight fire with fire. If there is a fire, put it out!” was another of Mr. Spotlight’s brilliant (or not so brilliant) quotes. Truthfully though, it is applicable in this situation. Magen struggled with Barzel’s commands, it was difficult to summon up the strength for a water technique when having to battle with all of the smog and smoke… and that charging tortoise didn’t exactly make things any easier. Still, obedient and trustworthy as ever, Magen embedded herself in her hydration roots and managed to summon up a decent sized squirt of water. It wasn’t powerful, it wasn’t controlled but it was a good beginning. The water droplets landed squarely on Torkoal’s head- hey, the accuracy was there! All that’s left is the power and form. The round took a turn for the worse when Torkoal finally lumbered over to Magen and charged into her. Although initially phased, the little blue turtle struggled valiantly and managed to free herself, before separating from the hulking beast. The advantage was shrinking, and Magen was still a bit away from perfecting her piece de resistance. Not one to miss a detail, Barzel quickly took note of his avid fighter, “Keep up the struggle, fight back if the Torkoal comes to you. Use your tail, limbs or head, make him regret attacking you.” After all, his guardian was fighting valorously so she didn't need super basic instructions. But it was up to Barzel to match her bravery; he had to provide the right guidance for her attacks. Taking note of what didn’t work the last round; Barzel started to formulate the next command, Keep it short and keep it sweet, too many words can distract Magen. She got the water forming down, now it just needs volume, control and power, he realized. It was quite a lot to learn in the midst of this fiery battle. But still, it wasn’t impossible. What’s the next step? he pondered. Barzel had to decide whether to continue with his move tutor, or try and go in for another physical assault. At least in the rounds before he was leading the fight comfortably, but now Magen was getting tired and getting banged up. She didn't exactly start this round fresh. Weighing out whatever positives and negatives he could dream up, Barzel decided to continue with the water gun tutelage, “Magen, build some distance between yourself and Torkoal and we’re going to try water gun again,” he said, beginning his formal commands. “This time, make yourself a smaller target by staying compact and try to find shelter.” His rationale, building distance will allow more time for water gun to build up and give Magen more time to react to Torkoal's attacks. Making a small target and being compact will help to react and will be more difficult to hit long range. “For water gun, continue building up that water energy,” he said, trying to apply logic in a world where turtles can shoot powerful bursts of fire AND water from their mouths. “Focus on the control and form, then the power! Concentrate more on the water energy inside and more physical water will come out.” Seemed like simple instructions, but Barzel was a bit more sly than that. When selecting Magen for his journey, he made sure to research the Pokémon’s ability, Torrent. Basically, the more critical a situation, the more water energy, affinity and control the creature will have. Perhaps it was more than just a coincidence that he happened to be teaching the first water attack under critical situations. Perhaps he was expecting the ability to become a catalyst to getting over the learning curve, whenever it started to take effect. Perhaps. [OOC: Thank you in advance to whoever refs this. For a quick up-to-date on the journey, there is a short summary in the profile. Also, if possible, could I know what the Voltorb and Hannah are up to? Thanks.] [WOOT 2ND PAGE!!] Edited by Graffiti, Jul 13 2009, 10:32 AM.

((Ashy is ill so please exscuse my poor reffing capabilities today. I'll try to keep it short and sweet.)) Your Squirtle began to run further away from the fire-turtle, so that if it was to come with a physical attack, Squirtle would have more time to prepare its attack. Luckily, Torkoal did not know what you were up too. So it began to watch Squirtle, not moving and not attacking... Just waiting to see what you were up to.. Squirtle got its distance, and then began to do exactly as you told it. The water building up inside of its small body was growing, and Squirtle closed its eyes as it tried to focus what energy it could on unleashing all that was building up inside. She sharply opened her eyes, feeling she was ready, opened her mouth and released what was almost a perfect water gun! She got the form of it right, the mass was almost correct. Unfortunately, the strength was not there. Torkoal watched confidently as the water came towards it. It didn't reach the fire pokemon, but instead created a puddle infront of it, trapping it from getting anywhere near Squirtle. Torkoal now could not get to Squirtle, not easily anyway. It looked down at the puddle of water in a scared manner and decided to fire an ember at your pokemon. Raising its mouth it began to shoot out embers directly towards your Squirtle. In a panic, she retaliated by using another water gun. Fortunately for you it was getting stronger. The water gun collided with Torkoal's ember, canceling each other out. You could either look at that a good way or a bad way. They were equal strength. Sure, water should beat fire but this Torkoal was more experience, knew how to use ember well and was known for being a stronger pokemon. So in my eyes, it was a good effort from your Squirtle. “Practice makes Permanent. Perfect the practice,” Mr. Spotlight once said. He was never the biggest fan of blind repetition. Each single try has to building up on the one before it, otherwise it’s just redoing the same mistake over and over. This is almost going too good, Barzel thought, marveled at Magen’s capabilities. Then again, she was his Pokémon. Each of her water bursts were getting stronger and stronger, fulfilling the ideal water gun attack. It wasn’t there just yet, but it would be in a moment of time. Torkoal is trapped and stressed. His attacks are being canceled out and he’s stuck, Barzel thought, and concluded that unless Torkoal had something hidden up his sleeve, this battle wasn’t going to last much longer. But no, no point thinking about victory when there is still a fight to win. “Magen, it’s getting there. Your water gun attacks are dousing his flame and overall getting more powerful,” he cheered Magen on proudly, “now it’s just a matter of finishing this off and perfecting the attack.” Although Magen was tired, there was still so much to do. This has to be finished quick, otherwise Magen might just fall from lack of energy, he thought while forming up his next batch of directions, “One more time Magen, you’re going to finish this within one more round. Feel that water within you, hold it, concentrate it. When you are at the peak, when you can’t focus on the water any more, open the floodgates and let it all rush out!” “Fire off two water gun attacks at the Torkoal, give them everything you’ve got!” [OOC: What is the status of the Voltorb and Hannah? And sorry about the lackluster post...] Edited by Graffiti, Jul 19 2009, 12:20 AM.

Whoever said to fight fire with fire is a moron, fighting fire with water is a lot more effective, and makes a lot more sense. Torkoal was still trapped, and he knew things weren’t looking up. The ember had just barely held the water gun back, and squirtle almost had it perfectly. Torkoal let off another ember, desperate to try to turn this battle around, but it didn’t go very far. Squirtle quickly dodged out of the way, and re-prepared for water gun. Taking all the water energy from inside, he welled it up and shot it off. With perfect power and perfect form, the water gun was a complete success, and totally mastered! Torkoal, still trapped couldn’t do anything but take the hit, and went down completely, his hp almost completely depleted. Fortunately for you though, Squirtle got a bit of cockiness going, and let off a second water gun, hitting the coal turtle and knocking him out. Well, that was a quick and easy end of the match. With Torkoal knocked out, Squirtle jumped up and down, showing that he was the superior turtle! Alright! But now what? You could catch the other turtle and add him to your turtle collection, or simply let it wake up on it’s own. The choice is yours, but maybe after this you should start looking for a turtwig, just for the irony. So what will it be, champ? To catch or not to catch? Squirtle gained 12 and Level up to Level 7 with 1 left over, learning bubble. Quite ironic, actually. I’ll update your profile now.Edited by Zygon, Jul 17 2009, 11:41 PM.

[OOC: Brain Juice running low... bad post warning.] “Take your victories in stride” Mr. Spotlight had said before. After winning a great bout or something like that, why would a person act all humble? If it was a good match, then they should feel proud of it! Barzel did his (soon to be) trademark fist pump when Magen mastered her attack. Perfection! He was mesmerized by the water, the volume and the force! It blew Torkoal away, even disregarding the type advantage; it was still a powerful attack. Not only that, the attack had enough force to successfully clinch her the match! Bada-bing bada-boom. Being so impressed with the Magen, Barzel didn’t really think much about the Torkoal or what to do with it. What did he care if it was out cold and hanging onto life by the skin of its teeth. No, what really matter was Torkoal’s ability, and damn was it a good one. Sure it got it’s butt whooped, but if it had a trainer and was given some attention… then anything would be possible. This decision was made long ago, Barzel realized with a smirk, and took out an empty pokeball. He tossed it toward the Torkoal, hoping to add to his TMNT collection. Now all that remains is that pesky grass type… but that’s a story for another time. Now what? Barzel pondered, Magen grew much stronger, but isn’t at one hundred percent. Still I think I can continue on without having to backtrack to the pokecenter…. After a quick mental back and forth, the decision was reached to go onwards! But where exactly is onwards? Oh wait, wasn’t he supposed to go help a chick out or something like that? He looked behind him, and sure enough, Hannah was standing there with a smile on her face… oh… right…. “So now that’s that out of the way, where to now Hannah? Are we off to your ex’s humble abode to wring his skin dry or something like that?” [OOC: If possible, can I know what happened to the Voltorb... may need to a bit of back reading?] [OOC: Doesn't Torkoal also gain exp for losing?] Edited by Graffiti, Jul 19 2009, 12:19 AM.

Yes - Torkoal gains 4.167 ![]() I can't blame you for trying to capture this Torkoal - after all, it's far rarer than it's given credit for in general. Thankfully, because of the fact that he was completely konked out, the pokéball merely clasped around the coal pokémon - and instantly snapped into place. The throw was a success - and you now have a Torkoal in your party! "Congratulations!" Hannah yelled, clearly elated about you conquering the coal pokémon - before tripping over something that she hadn't seen. Well, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that's the Voltorb that fell down the hole with you! "Ah!" Hannah yelled, crawling backwards away from the ball pokémon in fear - after all, it was far closer to her than she had wanted in any case. The Voltorb had managed to recover slightly from the bruising that it had picked up earlier from rolling around whilst you were busy dealing with that Torkoal. On the plus side for all, all of the status changes that the Voltorb had picked up had been knocked out of it - falling down a hole can do that to you. However, it's clear that the ball pokémon still has unfinished business with you - so what's it going to be then? Are you going to finish the business you have with this Voltorb? Or are you going to flee and try to help Hannah? ENEMY Level 7 ![]() 25/37 87% |

“Finish what you started,” Mr. Spotlight once told Barzel after Barzel came to him for advice. He went on to explain that a person keeps which keeps his word is one who earns the esteem of his fellow men. “Don’t leave anything half-assed.” The Pokeball reverberated it’s DING successes noise, and Barzel knew that he had just won himself another soldier. At this rate, I’ll be able to get my team up and running in no time, he realized. He was always a fan of building a team of diverse abilities, so after mentally checking off fire and water, he mentally set himself on searching for the next type to add to his collection. “Congratulations,” Hannah said. After all was said and done, it was an odd slew of events, starting with meeting a random girl and continuing to getting into a strange assortment of battles. But now that, that’s over with, Barzel was actually looking forward to meeting this Ex and putting everything behind him. That’s when it came. Hannah didn’t even realize, but the creature had been waiting all along. As she was running up to Barzel, she tripped over something circular, something metal, something suspiciously similar to a Voltorb. Some creatures just don’t know when to quit. But this Voltorb wasn’t satisfied with simply being a minor hindrance to Hannah, oh no. This Voltorb was gunning to be the biggest asparagus-hole on this side of the Sun. It turned towards Barzel and said in its electrical, cocky, arrogant and demonic voice, “Voltorb”. It wasn’t enough that it had to trip the humans, but it had to insult them too! Positive this was the exact same Voltorb from before, what else would be that obnoxious? First thing though was to address the situation, “Hannah, I got this under control. Think happy thoughts and we’ll be gone in no time.” Now staring the Voltorb in the face/body, Barzel muttered through gritted teeth, “Remember when I told you about ripping you a new one? It’s time for me to keep that promise.” This battle had history. It wasn’t about to be let go so quickly. Of course, Barzel couldn’t just go charging in blindly, he had to think of Hannah’s safety and Magen’s health, This Voltorb started it all, and it came back just to harass us, but it doesn’t know how we’ve grown stronger in these last few moments… “Magen, it looks like someone is back for a whupping. You fought this thing before and were winning. And now, you’re even stronger. We’ll finish this guy off with no problem!” Barzel declared, trying to rev Magen up for another battle. After all, it’s tough for any one to fight two back to back battles, but hopefully Magen will take the adrenaline rush from the last fight and channel it towards the problem in front. “Focus on your accuracy; we want to get a direct hit in early. Once you feel comfortable, launch a water gun directly at Voltorb. It won’t expect us to know a long range attack, so let’s take this chance to launch a powerful attack!” Edited by Graffiti, Jul 19 2009, 10:39 AM.

Slight bit of godmodding there - I never said the Voltorb made a noise. I'll let it pass though. Doesn't make much difference to the journey. Mr Spotlight was absolutely right when he said to finish everything that you had started - after all, what's the point in leaving something undone? If that thing is defeating a pokémon, those words are especially true - after all, that Voltorb was now dealing with a slightly weakened opponent that it was before. On the other hand, your Squirtle was now far stronger in terms of ability than when she had originally battled the ball pokémon. Of course, the Voltorb has an advantage over your pokémon in terms of type - after all, it is an electric type, whilst your Squirtle is a mere water type. On the plus side, the ball pokémon doesn't know any harmful electric moves - but you're not going to know that, are you? The Voltorb began to charge towards your Squirtle, seemingly willing to Tackle your pokémon to oblivion. However, your Squirtle was seemingly able to pre-empt the attack - and jumped over the Tackle, causing the rolling ball pokémon to turn around, wondering just where your pokémon had gone to. Much to your delight, your pokémon seemed to have aimed properly at the Voltorb - and unleashed a high-pressure stream of water at the ball pokémon."Go on, Barzel! You can do it!" Hannah yelled from the sidelines, hiding behind you in fear - that ball pokémon was freaking her out! Either way, you have the upper hand - but admittedly, your pokémon does look a little tired. I'd recommend you finish this battle off as quickly as you can. PARTNER Lv. 7 24/39 38%+ 1 ACC ENEMY Level 7 ![]() 19/37 81%

“Keep a fight in your own rhythm,” Mr. Spotlight told Barzel after a boxing spar the two had against each other. In that match, Mr. Spotlight, although weakened by time, managed to get the better of Barzel by wearing him out and keeping him frustrated. Like always though, what he said was full of truth, and Barzel committed it to memory (before blacking out). In hindsight, Barzel wasn’t sure if this situation was lucky or not. One the one hand, he had been attack by two Pokémon, one after the other. Magen was tired and hurt, and she was up against a type disadvantage this time around. But taking the flip side, Magen got so much stronger during these match-ups. And by the looks of it, she was outclassing this electric ball without too much of a hang-up. No denying it, Magen was tired. But she still managed to maneuver gracefully and dodge Voltorb’s advances. Her attacks hit soundly and she was starting to bring this battle under wraps. Energy-wise it wasn’t looking too good. Each attack now would have to be controlled and used properly, we can’t afford any missed techniques, not at this stage in the game. Throwing a grin towards Magen, Barzel said, “beautifully executed. A few more of those and he’ll be down for the count. Magen, use your focus from before to rev your body up, we’re going to have to hit with each attack precisely.” This battle wasn’t only Barzel and Magen versus the Voltorb. He had taken upon himself the responsibility to protect Hannah. Running away wasn’t an option. Relying on his experience from the earlier match up, Barzel said, “Voltorb only attacks us by moving in close, I want to you follow Voltorb’s movements and hit it with a bubble. Then, after you make contact with bubble, blast it away with another water gun. There’s no reason to get in close, we’ll make this battle long range. Don't let Voltorb get near you." The plan was to keep damage and contact to a minimum, so no energy would be lost through physical exchanges. Besides, with Voltorb ability, getting in direct contact with it could spell catastrophe. The past shapes up, but we shape the future.

Hannah's cheering-on continued, the girl shouting out words of confidence for the Pokemon to gain from. Although she was quite tired, the Squirtle seemed eager and ready to try and fight back twice as hard as the Voltorb could handle. She coiled back, Focusing as her trainer instructed. The little turtle quickly became overcome with great a mystical great eye-sight, locking in on the rolling Voltorb. While it waited for the Squirtle to execute another attack, Voltorb too Focused a stat- Speed to be precise. The wild Pokemon became filled with energy, spinning in all sorts of movements before launching itself forward with Tackle. As instructed, Magen readied for this, launching a Bubble when the enemy came close to her. Her move stopped the wild Pokemon mid-attack, causing it to become covered in soapy water, weakening it a bit. Keeping true to the other part of her orders, the Squirtle leaped backwards, executing a Water Gun which impacted the Voltorb head on, sending it spinning through the air. This attack sent the Voltorb flying, spinning through the air. After being blasted by the powerful Water Gun, Voltorb was sent soaring, eventually crashing into a couple of garbage bags. At this point the electric-energy sphere was infuriated as ever, quickly making its way out of the trash it had been tossed into. "Voltorb!" It exclaimed, quickly rolling towards Magen. Even if it had been beaten up quite badly, this Pokemon just wasn't ready to give up yet. After all, it had a bone to pick with both Barzel and that damsel in distress it targeted before. Magen's quick foot work allowed her to hop out of the way once at the Voltorb's charge, but it was now right in front of her face, prime target for its tackle attack. “Use every moment for inspiration,” Mr. Spoltight used to say. This was the difference between nobodies and people of legend. Nobodies think one or two steps ahead, but legends get remembered for thrusting into much more difficult challenges and coming out just fine. A nobody can’t take the same challenge; they aren’t able to face a dire situation without panicking. Magen’s attacks hit spot on and further damaged that spinning orb. Each blow was right on the mark and her dodging movements were impeccable. That Voltorb was being made a fool of. This was such a one-sided battle, that it wasn’t even funny. But, that’s disregarding the amount of strain Magen put on herself. Sure this might look like an easy victory, but weighing Magen’s energy against Voltorb’s health would put them on about equal, or maybe even a little in Voltorb’s favor. That’s why no mistakes were allowed. This battle might’ve been won in this next round, if Voltorb hadn’t managed to get so close to Magen. Now this was a danger, Magen had been aimping up her long range attacks, but Voltorb, pushing through all of the abuse, managed to bring the battle up to almost mêlée combat. Not good. But even throughout all of this, Barzel wasn’t worried. It almost eerie, like he had all of this thought of. Maybe this was his element, when the battle was most chaotic was when he felt most confident. Without even pausing for time to think, Barzel shouted out his commands, “Magen, muster up your energy and launch a water gun at Voltorb and the ground its on, make the floor real slick while trying to hit it!” Sure, maybe to an onlooker this would look desperate or stupid, but Barzel had a plan. In his mind, thoughts were racing and smashing into one another, (imagine the superconducting supercollider in action) to form new breakthroughs. Something like bubble+spin+speed+water+ball made this idea: Voltorb is all slick after that bubble and water gun attack. If I make the floor slippery as well, it won’t be able to get in any traction for an attack. With no traction, no speed. No speed, no power. “Then wait for the right moment, and hit Voltorb with a water gun! Dodge his attack first and launch it then!” He said with glee. “ Oh, and if it works out, try to slam him into the brick wall with the attack.” Barzel wasn’t about to give up his long-range weaponry, not by a long shot (get it?). Very wise words from you indeed. It was true that those clever enough to think 2-3 steps ahead of the actual situation at hand, could not face a situation smack-bang in the middle. They needed time to think, which would cause them to panic. Genius I must say. Still, enough of me admiring you. Your idea was close, yet slightly off im afraid. As your Squirtle followed your command and sprayed the floor infront of Voltorb with a water gun, the oposition grinned at something. You see, wetting the ground would not take speed out of the equation, oh no. Wetting the ground would make Voltorb roll alot quicker. The only plus side for you would be the fact that the orb wouldn't be able to roll under its own control, it would be a wild attack. This is exactly what Voltorb was now instructed to do. It began to roll quicker and quicker, shooting through the wet floor gaining more speed. Fortunately for you the water made Voltorbs aim slightly incorrect, yet the orb smashed Squirtle on her left side, putting the turtle pokemon in some pain and discomfort. Still, the orb pokemon couldn't control itself. Which meant it slammed straight into a wall in order to stop. As you can imagine this put quite alot of damage on the useless electric type, and before Voltorn could even bring itself around, an angry Squirtle still had to finish its orders off. With a quick open of the mouth your pokemon landed its largest water gun attack. Knocking the enemy completely out. Your Squirtle looked at you triumphantly, before wincing in great pain as it held its left arm. Seems that last tackle had really hurt her. I suggest you get her some medical attention. On the plus side, well done. Your Squirtle gained 10 ![]() Your Squirtle grew to level 8! [OOC: Voltrob also gains exp, right?] “All’s well that ends well,” was a saying often heard around Mr. Spotlight’s manor. When Barzel was adopted by the man, he learned to engrave that saying into his heart. There’s a time for reflection and a time for celebration, and it was always the Spotlight motto to try and promote celebration whenever possible. This fight may have not finished perfectly, but at least it was over. Magen performed spectacularly, Barzel… not so much, but… chalk it up to experience. At least this ordeal was over, “Magen, you did great,” Barzel said as he withdrew Magen’s pokeball from his belt. “Time for you to relax a little bit,” he said, recalling Magen back into her capsule. “And as for you,” he muttered, staring daggers at the Voltorb which had been one annoying son of a *****, “I’m going to make sure of it that you repay me one way or another for this mess.” He grabbed a fresh pokeball and tossed it, planning to capture the Voltorb and deal with it later. I’m not excited about training it, but it’s not a horrible fighter, and worst comes to worst, I can always trade it. Taking a realistic view of the situation, Barzel knew that he was at road’s end. There was a fine line between bravery and stupidity and it would be stupid to continue on without at least one healthy Pokémon. Disappointed in himself for having to take what he felt was an unnecessary time out, he called out to Hannah, “Glad that’s over with. But I don’t think I can continue on without getting some medical attention for Magen.” “I’m going to keep my promise about helping you, it’s just going to take a little longer than expected.” But what exactly was the plan? “So we don’t get ambushed again, I suggest we go to a Pokémon center and heal up for the journey ahead. I don’t know how much more trouble we’ll run into, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have some muscle, if you know what I mean,” he added, giving Hannah a boyish grin. “Also, after healing, I also would like to buy some items, I’m running kind of low on supplies,” he admitted. This was true as well, he had used up 2 of 3 pokeballs that he had started out with in only a small amount of time. I don’t really have any big need for the money, so I suppose spending it all on pokeballs wouldn’t be so bad. “After that, we’ll get your Pokémon back,” he said, trying to reassure Hannah. Then again, she did seem extreamly cheerful so it’s doubtful that she would be depressed or remotely similar. “Why don't you keep me company for a bit?” [OOC: I tried to leave it up to the ref to decide, but if it isn’t obvious I would like to go to the pokecenter to get healed up, and buy $300 worth of pokeballs.] Edited by Graffiti, Jul 22 2009, 01:18 PM.

AN: Yeah, Voltorb gains 5 exp. "All's well that ends well." Oho, what a brilliant saying that was. It was also very true. And this little branch on your saga did seem to end well; I don't think you could have asked for a better ending. Well.. you could. Having Magen unharmed would have been perfect, but life isn't perfect, is it? No. We have to deal with the obstacles we face. Speaking of facing obstacles, Magen did face her obstacles pretty well. Heck, she faced them exceptionally well. Emerging victorious from, not one, but two back to back battles? I'd say she's one really tough cookie, worthy of every bit of praise possible. Oh! What of the Voltorb. It was completely knocked out and unable to move, quite a lot of the damage was done at the hands of Magen; but some was because of it being dull. Heh. Here's something ironic. Throwing a Pokeball at a Pokemon that looks like a Pokeball? Funny, in a non-haha sense of way. Nevertheless, with the Voltorb out of commission for the time being, catching it would be a piece of cake! As expected, the Pokeball collided with Voltorb's spherical form, causing it to disappear into a red light before the ball dropped onto the floor and instantly shut, sealing the Voltorb. Pokemon catch successful! After picking up the ball and having Magen return to her own respective Pokeball, Hannah seemed even more overjoyed. I mean, the creepy Voltorb was gone, right? She looked up at you when asked to accompany you and smiled, nodding happily. Similar to before, she linked her arm around your own, leaning against you a little. Lucky you, she is a cutie after all. A little on the odd side though, as well as seemingly flirtatious, but sometimes that makes a girl even more attractive. But I digress. With your Pokemon still needing to be healed, you make your way off to the Pokemon center, Hannah still clinging to you. If anyone saw you two, it'd look like you two were a couple. Awww. Upon your arrival into the Pokemon center, you made your way over to Nurse Joy, explaining that you needed your Pokemon healed. Smiling, she took the three Pokemon, had them healed before they were returned to you. That was fast, and in other news.. Hannah seemed rather quiet for the time being. Maybe something was on her mind? What if she forgot something important she had to do? Other than take you to beat sense into her boyfriend. Then again, speaking about forgetting things. You still had to buy Pokeballs, as well as finish helping the chick. Oh and don't you have that goal of getting $5000? I think you might be closer to getting it if you didn't spend money, but Lord knows we all need Pokeballs. Well then.. shall we go get more Pokeballs? Or save up? Ack.. sorry if its a little bad. First ref post, and I hope its good enough for ya. The other moderator postings were so intimidating. ><; Oh and.. -edits your profile to include new data.- |

"Know when to call it a day's end,"... yet again, attributed to Mr. Spotlight (the elder, of course). Sometimes the smartest move is just to take a break and lead life in a different direction, even if only for a little while. That break could be just as productive, to the mission overall as would be doing a direct aspect of it. Barzel and Hannah walked arm and arm through the city, often becoming the object of attention on whatever street they were at. It was to be expected though, neither of them look exactly like city people, and Hannah is just standing out. The only setting she would fit in would be at a club, or a rave, or something of the sort. But she fit in with Barzel was well, complementing him with her own feminine charms. Barzel’s made small talk with Hannah along the way, trying to keep the two of them entertained. But every once in a while a thought crept into his head, If only those orphan punks could see me now… He tried to push these ideas of pomposity and smugness out of his head, but they still appeared here and there. Arriving at the Pokecenter was routine, like always. Nurse Joy was cheerful and kind, like always. The service was free and speedy, like always. And Hannah was quiet, like –wait, Hannah, quiet? This wasn’t right, and Barzel picked up on it pretty quickly. He was raised to be a sharp guy and all that, Sometimes I don’t think too far ahead I suppose. Obviously she would be feeling a bit depressed about stepping into this place, she probably used to bring her own Pokemon here all the time! Still, not one to dwell on the negative, Barzel attempted another stab at conversation with Hannah, something beside the usual, I’ll get your Pokemon back, and “So where are you from? Like I mentioned before, your outfit doesn’t exactly blend it the city streets at this time of day. I’m sure you got a story to tell.” He learned from experience, it wasn't good to dwell on the bad stuff. He led her out of the Pokecenter and into the pokemart, trying to keep her mind occupied while be hurriedly grabbed five pokeballs and brought them to the counter. Sure he had a goal to save up a boatload of money… for reasons he’d rather not announce just yet, but, to him, this was going to be a business expense. He would catch pokemon, and then sell them. Pokeballs are sore of a necessity, y’know? After hopefully exchanging the cash for the items, Barzel planned to go and find Hannah’s pokemon. Alright, retrieval mission 2.0, GO! [OOC: Want to buy 5 pokeballs, -$300 (I should have 6 total now), also searching for Hannah's Ex in order to get her stolen pokemon back.] Edited by Graffiti, Jul 23 2009, 12:17 PM.
