Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Darkness had swirled around Silas sa he was sent into unconsciousness. One thing he had not anticipated was that the Butterfree would lash out at him as well. It had been a careless error and one that he would not repeat again. He flexed his limbs experimentally. He had apparently regained all control, but had no idea where he was. After sitting up he saw his Doduo semi-sleeping on the floor. Characteristically of Doduo, one of the heads was sleeping while the other was keeping watch. He had apparently been healed, along with all of his Pokemon, and had decided to guard his trainer while incapacitated. The awake head squawked with joy at seeing Silas up and conscious, and pecked the other head from its sleep. "Do! Do!" The other head yawned and opened its eyes sleepily. "Duoooooo?" Once they both calibrated to each other, Doduo hopped up and jumped with excitement. "Doooo!" "Duo!" Silas smiled right back at his little avian warrior. He was truly ferocious, and had as much of a bloodthirsty drive as Ekans and Pinsir, which was unexpected. Silas promised that he would never underestimate his Doduo's fighting spirit again. "You guys saved my life out there today. I don't know how to thank you. I'm sorry that I got kind of blindsided there." "Do Duo! Do Duo!" Apparently Doduo had not held even the slightest grudge about carrying his trainer to the...wherever he was. They both turned as they heard the door open. Nurse Joy walked into the room. At least that settled the question of where he was for Silas. He leaned backwards and talked as she came over and checked both him and Doduo. "I suppose I have you to thank as well for helping me get well again, Nurse Joy. Thanks. How is the Butterfree? Did she make it?" Silas knew that if permitted, he would approach the Butterfree and ask her to join him. He knew he didn't have much of a use for her, but he was determined to look after her until he could find someone caring that would watch over her on a more long term basis. He also knew that if she didn't comply, he would capture her by battle. It was dangerous to let such a jaded Pokemon go out into the wild and blindside people with her spore attacks. He eagerly awaited to see what the answer to his questions would be. Edited by Silas, Sep 22 2010, 12:22 PM.

Nurse joy stood silently for several seconds trying to formulate her thoughts while you asked your question, but her expression foretold bad news was to follow. She sighed lightly before responding. “Honestly I’m not sure whether Butterfree will survive. Her wounds are quite extensive both physically and mentally. She has several life threatening cuts to her sides and stomach and her wing has a slight tear in the upper corner of her right wing. With some luck these should all heal although she will always carry the scars.” Her voice was unusually quiet as she relayed this information to you. She definitely had the look of a woman with some major concerns on her mind. Her usually bright vibrant voice was sullen and carried an air of sadness. There was a pair of dark circles starting to form under her eyes from what could only be a mixture of stress and lack of energy. Her hair was frazzled at the end and stuck out in all directions, and her usual clothing was still covered in blood and various other fluids that could not easily be identified. “What is the main concern for me, though, is her mental condition. She seems to be fighting for the will to live but I’m not sure she has the drive to succeed. The injuries on her body aside her main focus is on the torn section of her wing and this cause’s great stress to the poor Pokémon. From the way she acts it seems that this obvious disfigurement, at least to her, causes no end of sadness and mental pain. I worry that she won’t have the strength to fight for her life but I can assure you that my team and I will not stop trying until she is safe to be released.” She said and watched for your reactions. After a few moments to let this sink in she continues talking, this time, though, with a slightly more annoyed expression on her face. “The question I have is how she got this way in the first place. Judging by the actions of your Doduo, assuming that IS your Doduo, I wouldn’t see you as being one to hurt Pokémon on a whim so exactly what caused this to happen?” she asked. Silas grew pensieve as he put two fingers between his chin. It was certainly a lot of information to take in at once, considering he had no intention of letting such a Pokemon give up on life. He looked up at Nurse Joy and shrugged. "The wounds on the Butterfree were not caused by me or my Doduo. After arriving back here from Joukai, I began searching the woods for training opportunities. Me and my team came across Butterfree being attacked four very large and very nasty Beedrill. As to why the four were terrorizing and attempting to kill this Butterfree, your guess is as good as mine. To make a long story short, me and my team stepped in and battled the Beedrill into submission. It was a very gory and firey battle. After my team proved victorious, I tried to carry the Butterfree back here knowing you'd be able to do something for her." Silas flexed his wrists and stretched again, surprised that he had made such a quick recovery. "Unfortunately, the Butterfree must seen me as a threat as well, for she hit me with a Stun Spore. From what Doduo has told me, he carried both of us here, and I suppose you can finish the story after that. It sounds far-fetched, but you have to trust me." Silas hadn't mentioned that the Beedrill had been willing to die rather than admit defeat. These homicidal and suicidal insect Pokemon and their behavior amazed the young man. He knew his Pinsir was sometimes cold and always full of rage, but he had attributed it to the particular species than the whole type. Perhaps this would interest some researcher to no end, but not Silas. The young man was far more interested in battling and becomming a powerful trainer. He sighed and laid back into his bed. "Is there anything I can do to help the Butterfree along? I'm worried about letting her back out into the wild if she is truly suicidal, or angry at the entire human race judging by the way she treated me." Silas sat silently and waited for Nurse Joy's answer. |

In My Little White Room Again
|
The nurse leaned back up against the counter besides the chair where you sat as she listened to you speak, her eyes dark, hopeless, as if she was allowing herself to become succumbed into the tragedy that had walked into her door just moments ago. She was a sensitive woman; she took each and every case she had with the upmost caution and care; she thought of each Pokemon as her own; at times she even put herself into their shoes and tried to live out the physical and mental toll that had been placed upon her patients –just so that she could try to relate to them. Just so she could try to understand their pain, their misery. She tried patting down her frazzled hair and rubbed at her eyes tenderly whenever you turned away, she couldn’t let people see how broken down she was really becoming. And so, she sighed, and pushed herself up off the counter and walked over to where you sat and looked out the glass windows that made up the walls of the centre. The sky was painted a mystical collage of red and oranges that swept across the sky until it faded into an inky blackness that was lit dimly by the full moon that clung in the shadows of the clouds overhead. She watched the darkness scratch at the warm colors overhead, slowly consuming the light like some monster that was always believed to live under a child bed when they were young. She shook her head a few times, trying to ward off more depressing thoughts that were crawling closer and closer to her. “Well,” she sighed, “me standing here isn’t going to help her any. I’m going to head back and go check on her..oh here.” she said, handing you a key. “It’s a key for one of the rooms up on the second floor, you can go up there and rest if you want. I’ll be here in the morning if you want to come back down and see how she is doing then. If she’s fine..well, we will think of some sort of arrangements for her. That is of course, if she manages to make it through the night. I know you want to help, but as of now there is nothing that we can do but sit and wait to see if she will live through the night. G’night~” she finally said before wandering off down one of the halls, her heels clicking against the tile floor. She rounded a corner and disappeared from sight, leaving you and your Pokemon alone in the deserted lobby. To your left there lay the staircase that wounded up in a circular motion, leading up to the second and third floors above. You could go and take a rest if you wanted, and then check in on Butterfree again in the morning and see if she managed to hold on through the night. Or, if you wanted to stalk the night, you could see a group of men standing outside of the Pokemon center around the old fountain that lay near the entrance. They could be seen flicking their Pokeballs up and down in their hands and laughing as the dark clawed its way further over the orange sky. Trainers perhaps? Upon further inspection, you could actually see what appeared to be a ghost Pokemon appearing and disappearing out of sight besides one of the men as the light dimmed and then came back to life for a second. The Duskull rounded his trainer happily once before stopping and turning to you, his demonic red eye glowing as he caught your eye. It was only the laughter from the group of men that caused him to snap out of it and return to circling his trainer. But hell, that stare gave you one hell of a cold chill. Well, you did want to become strong, and surely these men had some grueling creatures (including Duskull)at their arsenal..or of course you could just wander out of the center in hopes of something better to do. But be advised; if you do stray from the center and something goes wrong with the Butterfree in the ICU, well then you are not going to be anywhere near to make sure that she is okay –if you still care about her, that is. So what will you do for tonight, Mr. Silas? |

Silas rubbed his head as he listened to Nurse Joy speak. "Aye, maybe something can be done tomorrow. However, it's obvious that she doesn't trust me at all, and next time I won't be so lucky. However, it's clear she's too damaged to make it on her own. She needs someone to watch out for her... anyway thank you for the room and I shall see you tomorrow." After she left, Silas stared out of the window and glared right back at the Duskull. Ghost Pokemon were always intriguing to him. It was why he had managed to raise one on his own: his little geisha. He would have to practice on all types of Pokemon in order to become a true master. He was happy to have any opportunity to fight and pulled himself out of the bed. As he got to his feet, he suddenly felt dizzy and almost fell over. Doduo squawked and hopped up, catching his master before he fell. Silas shook his head and figured his health should come first. Besides, if something came up with Butterfree, he wanted to make sure he was here. He had invested himself very heavily in this series of events, and had full intention of seeing it through. He smiled at Doduo and rubbed the two heads equally, so one wouldn't get jealous. "Thanks for that, my friend. Perhaps I haven't recovered enough to get back into battling yet. Help me up the stairs?" Silas and Doduo got out of the recovery unit and walked up the stairs to the second floor. After getting in, Silas took a bedrail by one hand and patted the comfortable chair next to him. Doduo immediately hopped up and yawned, ready to get back to bed after a long day. Silas sat himself down, but made sure the door remained slightly cracked open. He took a catnap and tried to stay in light sleep in case an emergency occured. |

You quickly fell asleep, but not for long. It seemed as though an hour or two had passed by, before a loud knock was heard at your door. Nurse Joy quickly pushed through the door; a look of terror was stricken on her face. ”Please, you must help! Some goon came in and stole that Butterfree!” she quickly said. ”Chansey and I tried to get her back, but he had a Duskull with him, and a strong one at that!” ”Please, your our only hope! I would go myself, but I have to many pokemon here at the center. I have informed the police, they’re on their way, but there’s no time to wait! That Butterfree is in critical condition, and if we don’t get her back in the ICU, there’s a high risk that she won’t make it! You must hurry!” Nurse Joy quickly left, running back downstairs, hoping that he didn’t have any followers. If you chose to help, which I’m pretty sure you would, once you made it downstairs you would see all the destruction. Tables and chairs were allover the place, pictures that once hung on the wall, were now on the ground and in pieces. This guy really did some damage. One of the main front windows of the center was shattered; it was possible that that was how he got in. Although, I don’t think the center’s ever close, so why didn’t he just use the electronic front doors? They would have been much easier in my opinion.. However, the worst has not been told yet, and so I will do that now. It was almost impossible to miss, and if someone did, they had to be blind or close to it. A trail of blood could be seen, coming from behind the ICU doors to the front. So he did use the front doors, smart man I guess. Anyways, the blood was obviously from the severely wounded Butterfree. It actually looked like someone had been stabbed in the stomach and ran out of the center. Yes, It was that bad. Once you made it outside, you would see a chair lying on the ground, along with shards of shattered glass. So that’s what caused the shattered window, I guess a flying chair could do that. However, that’s not the case at the moment, or I guess you could forget about Butterfree and pick up the glass and such, after all someone could come by and step on a piece. But if you wanted to rescue Butterfree, just follow the blood trail. Either that, or you could follow the frightened cries for help from the poor pokemon. The choice was yours. Oh ya, were still waiting for you to wake up, and do whatever you decided to do. So, umm, I’ll let you do that. OOC: I hope this ref was ok. If not I apologize, send me a pm and I will edit it! |

Silas awoke to Nurse Joy's horrible screams. Doduo yawned and pulled himself out of the chair he was sleeping in and helped Silas out of the bed. Together, the two of them walked down the stairs and marveled at the carnage that had appeared in the normally tranquil Pokemon Center. After Nurse Joy filled him in on the situation, he sighed and shook his head. He knew there was little that he would be able to do to convince the Butterfree to trust anyone ever again now, but for some reason he felt that he had to try. Silas cracked his neck and stretched his arms again, hoping that the effects of the spore attack had completely worn off. He nodded to Nurse Joy. "Don't worry. We'll do everything in our power to get that Butterfree back here. For now, tell the police to follow me once they get here." Silas knew that Doduo was more than willing to help out, but the bird had proven to be a tad... anxious in recent battles. He needed the assistance of one more of his team, one more equipped for stealth. He reached down to his belt and pulled out a Pokeball, pressing the button and summoning another of his team. "Come out, Frosslass!" His ghoulish geisha erupted from the ball in a flash of white light, twirling in the air with pure elation. Silas crouched down and spoke to Doduo and Frosslass. "Here's the plan, guys. Doduo, stick by me and make sure I don't collapse or anything. Frosslass, float above us to see if you can see the thugs ahead of us, but stay out of sight. You'll be our scout in the air." Both Pokemon nodded and seemed filled with energy, despite the late hour. The three of them walked outside to an creepy, silent night. At least the three of them knew where to go, for Butterfree was leaving a trail of blood that a blind Wooper could follow. Silently, the three allies made their way after the injured Butterfree and her tormentors, hoping that they could catch up with them soon. |

So you decided to let your Frosslass search in the air, while you and Doduo scout on the ground. Good plan my friend. You could still hear the cries of the tormented Butterfree, and I’m not going to lie, it was disturbing. I mean, here you are following a trail of blood left by the pokemon, in the middle of the night, it kind of sounded like something you would see in a horror movie. Luckily for you, you didn’t have to worry about any monsters or serial killers jumping out of nowhere trying to slaughter you, so I guess that were a plus. It seemed as though hours had passed, but in all honesty it had been merely minutes since you began you search. Then you heard her. Frosslass was crying out to you, she had spotted them! The cries of your pokemon made you stop dead in your tracks, but she quickly retreated from the air back to you. ”Froosss, Froosss, Froossslasss!” she quickly said. You didn’t really understand her, but she quickly darted in front of you, and towards an old house. You could hear maniacal laughing coming from within the house, the only question was would you dare go in? If you looked hard enough, because there weren’t any lights on outside the house, you could see a small pool of blood at the foot of the door. Not only that, but blood was smeared on the door, probably from when he barged in with Butterfree. Frantic cries from the Butterfree could be heard, and they became louder and louder, the closer you got to the door. Something bad was obviously going on inside that house, but what? The only way would find out is if you opened the door, and went inside. But that's when you heard the crashing noise coming from behind the house, followed by a loud yell! So there you have it, you could either go through the front door, or investigate the noise behind the house. Who knew, there may be a back door, then you could sneak up on the fiend. Also, it would probably by you a bit of time, maybe the police would be here when you came back? Or maybe not. OMG IT"S SO CONFUSING!! Hehe, sorry about that, just ummm, choose whatcha wanna do. Two options were presented in front of him, both of which involved entering an ancient, run-down building and most likely fighting some punks. Silas wondered how he managed to get himself involved in these predicaments. All he had wanted to do was do some basic training, and here he was trying to save a wounded Butterfree from certain death from some Satanic squirts and their Duskull. He cringed at the sounds of the insect Pokemon, wondering how anyone could actually do something so horrible to another living creature. The noise from the back provided an opportunity for stealth, but Silas was unsure how much longer the Butterfree would be able to hold out. Time was not on his side, so it looked like he had no choice but to go in through the front. In the back of his mind, Silas hoped Nurse Joy didn't forget to mention the fact he was chasing after the punks to the police, for if they got here and she hadn't mentioned him, it would be hard to not get lumped in with the others. He brought his finger to his lips and looked at Frosslass and Doduo. Hopefully they would get the message and enter as quietly as they could. The trio pushed open the door and moved in, unsure as to what would await them in this demonic mansion. However what else could they do? Butterfree needed to be saved! |

As you pushed open the front door, you noticed almost instantly, the sudden chill. It was like you had just opened the refrigerator door; yes it was just like that. The house looked scary on the outside, well the inside was far worse. Almost everything was covered in dust, Spinarak webs could be seen everywhere in the house, you even though you saw a couple scurry away as you stepped inside. However, like before, the worst of it all was the trail of blood. As you looked down you could the trail of blood droplets left by the pokemon. She was severely wounded, and if she weren’t rescued soon, she would sure enough die. Let’s just hope that the thief hadn’t hurt her anymore. The blood trail would go towards the right, down a dimly lit hallway. At the end of the hallway you could see a case of stairs that lead up, to what was possibly either a second floor, or the attic. You could also hear the cries from the Butterfree coming from above you, so you knew for sure that she was up there. Now the only question was, would you and your pokemon go up there and investigate, or would you send someone stealthier, like Froslass? I mean, I imagine that Froslass could get up there and back down to you in about three seconds, and the goons probably wouldn’t even see her there. However, there was always the chance, that she could be capture and become the next victim of whatever the hell it was they were doing up there. The choice was yours, and you better make it quick, because I don’t think Butterfree will last much longer. |

The house seemed more like a mosoleum than a mansion. Silas hated being here, and decided that he wouldn't make his visit any longer than necessary. The Spinaraks were surely intriguing and capture-worthy, but Silas couldn't afford to be distracted here. The shrieks from upstairs were so horrible that they required full and immediate attention. He wished that he knew exactly what was going on up there, but unfortunatlely was not blessed with X-ray vision. He didn't want to send Froslass up there to investigate on her own, for Silas had seen the eerie red eye of the Duskull from earlier, and knew that the ghost type was weak to itself. Silas also knew that he needed to get up there quick, but didn't want to become a ghost himself. He figured that the best thing to do was make an all-out assault as a team. He had more than enough capable Pokemon on hand with many intriguing moves. So he, Doduo, and Frosslass began going up the stairs as quietly as he could. Frosslass would have no trouble just merely hovering and making no noise. Doduo, although forced to walk up the stairs, was extremely light wait and delicate, and unless he needed to could probably make as little noise as possible. Silas was actually the weak link here, but knew that even if the thug learned of his presence, there was no way back down without going through the ex-thief. Silas reached down to his belt and picked out two additional Pokeballs: Ekans and Rattata. He figured the brigand had no intention of fighting fair, and in the interest of getting Butterfree to safety he didn't really have much of an incentive to either. He would go up and see what challenge laid before him, but knew that he was fully prepared to take on all comers. |

As you made you way to the top of the stairs, you first noticed how quiet it was, then you noticed the blood trail was gone, and then you laid eyes on something horrendous. Scattered across the walls were pokemon furs. Just by looking at the colors or patterns you could tell what pokemon they were from. There were Vulpix, Houndour, Mightyena, Arcanine, Zangoose, and you even saw what looked like the fur from a Chimchar! It didn’t take you long before you finally understood, the guys were poachers.. But then your mind began to wonder. Everything in the room was pokemon fur, and Butterfree didn’t have fur, did they? The answer to that question, I think anyway, is no. However, it could be yes, but I’m saying it’s no until I find out otherwise. Anyway, if these guys were all about collecting pokemon fir, why would they have gone all out of stealing Butterfree? It just made no sense. Anyways, as you stood on the second floor of the |

It seemed that the trail had run cold. Silas knew that there were two possible reasons for no further blood trial. One was that they had patched up the Butterfree to prevent her from breathing further. The ex-thief knew this to be unlikely. The other was that she had completely bled out, in which case it was too late to save her. Silas hoped that this wasn't the case, but with every passing second it was coming closer to being true. Now he was faced with a new dilemma. Since he had no trail to follow, he was pretty much going to have to make a blind guess until he found the door he wanted. It was like playing roulette, but with a Pokemon's life as the stakes. Silas frowned, but decided there was no other way. He could have had three members of his team open different doors, but in case there were traps, Silas had no intention of splitting up his forces. He ended up taking a deep breath and opening door number III. It was in a higher power's hands now. |

Nogou Village And that higher power is me! So.. you chose number three, huh? Damnit.. How did you know to choose number three!? I had every battle planned out and room number three was supposed to be the last one you chose, but it was the first.. No fun. Well anyway, lets move on.. As you opened the door, the first thing you noticed was a large slab table in the middle of the room. On that table was Butterfree, and she wasn’t moving.. At first thought death would come to mind, however then you saw that she was breathing. They were slow little breaths, but she was breathing, therefore she wasn’t dead, right? Well as you stepped into the room, the door slammed behind you and a black puff of smoke appeared in front of you. In a matter of minutes, the smoke would clear and there would be a man. ”You’ve been following us for quite some time now…” the man slowly said, his voice was creepy, and somewhat… ghostly. ”I imagine you’re here for the Butterfree right?…” he would ask, ”Well if that’s the case, get ready for a battle, because that’s the only way your getting her….” he said, once more. The man then took out two duskballs, and by pushing the center button, caused them to expand in his hands. Then he threw the duskballs into the air, and in a matter of seconds, the two items had opened, sending two bolts of black energy down to the ground. As the energy materialized and took form, you immediately knew what you were dealing with. Soon a Duskull and Sableye would be standing in front of you, well it looked like it was battle time, and by the looks of things, there was no other option this time. So who would you send out to fight? Better make this match quick, because Butterfree isn’t looking so great over there.. Possible Enemies Level 10 Level 10
