Silas let a small smile crack the stony expression on his face. So the Ekans could fight a little after all! It made his plan to catch the serpentine Pokémon sound like a far better idea than it did thirty seconds ago. He paused only briefly to here the cheering crowds. Apparently nobody in this entire town had a Pokémon that could handle a young Ekans. Silas rolled his eyes and sighed. If he wasn't so amused by it, he might have found the cheering annoying. However, the battle was going great for him and Pinser, so he decided to let the cheering fuel him on. At least it wasn't as annoying as the poketech's beeping. Silas made a mental note to read over the instruction manual after this whole situation blew over. He folded his arms across his chest again and spoke in his monotone voice. "Close the book on this one, buddy. You've got it pinned down to the ground, so give it the finishing touch with Bind! Apply pressure with your powerful horns and squeeze it into submission!" Silas' smile faded as he calculated the next steps. After Pinsir finished off the Ekans, it should be so beat down and exhausted that it wouldn't put up too much of a fight. His arms unfolded as he reached down to his belt and picked up one of the empty pokeballs he got when he first arrived here in Alternia. They say that every journey starts with one promising step. He got a good promising step by forcing the Venonat and the fat girl to back down, and it would most certainly be another good step if he added the Ekans to his team. Silas noticed he was not the only one happy with the battle. Pinsir was having a blast, using his strength and devastating horns to completely overpower Ekans. His Pokémon's scarred gaze never left the Ekans for one second during the battle. "SIR!" Pinsir didn't show mercy and never surrendered. Even though the battle wasn't nearly as challenging as the previous one, a win was a win. It geared up and got ready to deliver what it thought would be the finishing blow. |

This shouldn't be too long. Fastening his pinsers, Pinsir used Bind on the already binded snake. Vice Grip and Bind... Pretty much looked the same. But, that didn't matter much. The ekans collapsed, out of stamnia finally. A roar of cheer came from the small crowd that had gathered. Yay! No more snake! Pinsir looked at them oddly, wondering what they were going on about. He released the Ekans, and it fell limply to the ground, giving a nice, meaty 'clunk' sound. Before much anything else could happen, Silas threw the Pokeball he had picked out before at the Ekans, and watched as the large snake Pokemon was sucked inside. It shook two times, then began to violently roll from side to side, looking like it was about to blow. Stopping dead center, the wonderous 'DING' sound of the Pokeball clicking out sounded, and the movements ceased. Yes, Ekans was caught! Picking it up, Silas walked back to the Berry shop. It looked almost as if nothing had been changed, except maybe the berries that were missing from the shelves, that had been squashed in the process of things. The clerk was sweeping in one of the aisles, and noticed you after a second. "Oh, hello! I can't thank you enough for taking care of that thief, and the wild Ekans. I have to repay you somehow.. Let's see...." Looking through the shelves, she pulled out three Oran berries. "Please, take these. It's the least we can do. Thanks so much!" Humbly accepting them, Silas walked back out of the store waving. So much had happened in only one day...... Well, before anything ELSE can happen, wouldn't it be a good idea to run your fainted Ekans and tired as hell Pinsir to the Pokemon Center sometime soon? Battle won! Silas held the pokeball of his new Ekans in his hand. It was his first Pokémon caught in Alternia, a big step on any trainer's journey. Also, it was the first Pokémon he caught on his very own. He had borrowed that Raticate in order to get Pinsir, but this was a complete product of the teamwork he and Pinsir had. Hopefully he would be able to build a similar relationship with Ekans down the line. Not a bad start at all to his journey! He also got three berries out of the deal! Not too shabby. It was almost as if he was fighting for hire. Now THAT had a ring to it. Silas also considered the alternative to how today could have went if he had gone back to his thieving ways. At least he had some experience in that field. Silas tore his eyes away from his Ekans' pokeball and placed it on his belt. He walked down the street like a golem; silent and emotionless. Whatever he decided to do here in Alternia, he wouldn't get far if Pinsir and Ekans didn't get some time to rest. He looked down the street and spotted the Pokémon Center a few blocks down. He continued walking in that direction until he reached the massive healing facility. He stepped inside and looked around. Nurse Joy saw him enter and walked over to him. "Welcome to the Pokémon Center! How can I help you?" Silas held out his two Pokeballs to the nurse. The family of Nurse Joys were the only people Silas felt that he could instinctively trust, something that was extremely hard for him to do. "My Pinsir and Ekans need healing. Please." She smiled and took them from him, taking them into the back for healing. Silas sat down in the waiting area and picked up a magazine. Neither Pinsir or Ekans were in any critical danger, so their care would most likely be routine. He flipped through a few pages, not really getting into the material much. He heard whispering, and looked around using his peripheral vision. A couple people were huddled a few feet down, occasionally glancing at him and whispering. Silas rolled his eyes and cast his gaze down to the magazine again. Silas really didn't care what people thought about him, and he never bothered to listen to gossip floating around. No use getting upset over inane chatter from fools. He continued to flip through the pages, skipping over articles that seemed boring. He stopped when he got to an article about cave Pokémon. He looked at a picture, which was of two Snorunts huddled together sleeping. Silas frowned, realizing he had never heard of a Snorunt before. Fortunately, the picture had a brief description about them. An Ice-type Pokémon that lived in caves sounded like an alluring prospect to Silas. He wondered what other Pokémon he hadn't heard of. After finishing reading the article, his poketech beeped again, advertising the Zaroff lottery. He hadn't won yet, but he was determined. He purchased two tickets and went back to the magazine. He flipped a few pages and started reading an article about dark-type Pokémon, and found himself completely fascinated by Murkrow. Silas considered the usefulness of both Snorunt and Murkrow. If he was going to suceed here in Alternia, he would need more than two Pokémon. Perhaps his next step would be to find these two Pokémon types and try to catch them. However, he would need his Pokémon back first. He looked up and saw that his Pokémon were not yet ready, so he continued to wait until his team was ready. Perhaps Nurse Joy would be able to tell him where he'd be able to find a Snorunt. Silas decided he would ask her when she was done healing Pinsir and Ekans. Edited by Silas, Jul 3 2009, 03:57 PM.

(*bow bow* Soooorry for the wait, other duties were calling. And it sucks when people borrow your crap -.- ) Nurse Joy came back with Pinsir and your new Ekans, and handed them back. Silas posed his question to her as she did, and she pondered on it for a moment. "Snorunt like dark, cold places, so maybe deep inside a cave would be best. Try looking down Route One, there's a few caves there that could support one, mostlikely. Bowing, she turned away to the next customer. Silas walked outside, with his new, refreshed team on his belt. He looked around, and then saw a road leading out of town, with a sign pointed down it, saying "Route One -->". This looked promising. He walked down it, and kept on going. A forest passed him by, one that must have wrapped around Nogou Village. He must have gotten lucky, for this looked like a road that led out of it at a thinner part of the woods. After about twenty minutes or so of walking, he arrived at a large plain, with rougher grounds rising from them in the distance. This must be the beginning of Route 1, hopefully. It was a pretty quick trip, too. Beginning to walk on again, he could sware that he saw movement behind a small group of trees to his right. Ignoring them, he walked on, but right into an eventual trap. Two of the larger trees that were in the area fell, and blocked off behind and in front of Silas. A group of Bidoof and Bibbarel could be seen at their bases, but they quickly scattered once the trees were down. It seemed odd, but then he was able to see why this was happening. From his left, a Doduo crept closer to him, and on his right, a powerful looking Skorupi began to cautiously skitter over to him. Well, this was good. One of the Pokemon were on the same level as both of yours, but the other was a little more advanced in levels. But, it was smaller. Pinsir, being a bug type, was deathly afraid of Flying type Pokemon. But, he did have a size advantage over the level advantagous foe. Ekans could probably be better suited to taking down the bird, coiling around it and poison stinging it into oblivion. Pinsir would be best off vicegripping the scorpion Pokemon, and slamming it into submission, like it had with the Venonat. Then, we look at abilities: Ekans will drag both the Skorupi and Doduo's attacks down one when it comes out, but Skorupi's Battle Armor also disables the chances of a critical hit. Sniper, though, powers up it's own. But luckily, critical hits can still be thrown by Pinsir, due to it's Mold Breaker ability. And then Doduo's abilities.... had really no effect on the battle. So, maybe Ekans vs Doduo and Pinsir vs Skorupi would work the best, yes? Oh, and there was a strange last note to be made. A small, silver and red sphere could be seen clamped tightly in one of the two beaks of the Doduo. Is that...... An unused Pokeball? Battle! Silas' mind began racing. He was faced with quite the dilemma, being surrounded by two pokemon who certainly didn't look like they were just passing by. He had hoped that his journey along Route 1 would be relatively painless, but no one ever said the life of a trainer was simple. On one hand, he was faced with a Doduo. A nimble flying type, but was distracted by carrying what appeared to be a pokeball in its mouth. On the other hand, there was this Skorupi. Its claws and tail looked menacing, and it would take some power to get through that tough exoskeleton to do some damage. Instead of battling one, Silas decided that it would be best to battle both. He had to continue along to the caves that Nurse Joy mentioned, and he was in no mood to be delayed. It was time to handle the situation swiftly and effectively. His Pinsir might not fair too well against the sharp beaks of Doduo. His insect warrior would be far more suitable to take on the other insect. Silas also knew that eventually he would have to run a field test with Ekans to give him practice on the battlefield. No time better than the present, especially considering that the Doduo appeared distracted by its loot. Silas reached down to his belt and pulled out his two pokeballs, pressing the center buttons and tossing them onto the ground towards the pokemon he intended each of them to fight. "Pinsir. Ekans. Time for battle." Two bright flashes of light signaled his Pokemons' entrances to the fight. "Pin pinSIR!" As soon as Pinsir caught a glimpse of the skittering Skorupi, he immediately clacked his horns together to show his opponent that he meant business. "Ekansssssss!" Ekans reared its head up from its coils and gave a menacing look at Doduo, using its frightening aura to Intimidate his foe. "Get ready, guys." Silas took a few steps backward so he could keep an eye on both battles. These other pokemon surely had skills, but there was one thing they didn't have: guidance. Silas knew that as long as he could guide both Ekans and Pinsir effectively they would be unbeatable. Silas clenched his hands into fists and figured it was time to get the party started. "Ekans! Lock eyes with Doduo and shake it up with Leer! Then hit it with your Poison sting!" Silas then turned towards Pinsir. "Pinsir, try and find the weak points through its armor with Focus Energy, then get ready to apply some pressure with your Vicegrip!" "EKANS!" "SIR!" Pinsir got ready to launch itself into the heat of battle, while Ekans prepared to strike fear into the heart of its opponent. Silas took a deep breath and began to calculate the next steps in what would certainly be a chess match of a battle. |

Oh, this looks like fun. In one corner, bird vs snake. In the other, beetle vs scorpion. And now, battle commense! Ekan's ability activated before anything else happened, and both the Doduo and Skorupi lost some attacking power. Pinsir then moved first. Consentrating on his opponent, he scanned it for all possible weak points. After a second of standing still, it pounced at it, and spun halfway around in mid air. Coming onto the Skorupi, it dug one pinsir into the ground, and another rose over the small, blue scorpion. The underground pinsir erupted from the ground immediately under the bug, and the other one clamped down fast, right into the midpoint where two of it's main body segments join. The Skorupi bawled out in pain, sending an ear piercing cry through the air. Yet still, Pinsir's iron grip did not loosen. Pinsir rose, suspending the writhing scorpion into the air. While it flailed helplessly, it fired off a Poison Sting at the top of Pinsir's head, where it's own head had been facing. It did phase Pinsir, but he took little notice to it. Almost imobilised, the Skorupi could do litte.... Or could it? Rearing it's clawed tail back, it began to glow with a dark, seeping energy. twisting and flipping it around, it managed to deliver a nasty slash at into Pinsir's back, making him drop the scorpion. It skittered back a few feet, readying for it's next attack. It heaved some, as it looked like that move used alot of energy, ontop of the energy it used struggling. Oh, this battle looks like it'll be a hard one. -- And now, we look at the bird vs snake battle. The Doduo moved first, warping over to Ekans with a quick attack. It bashed itself into the snake with the momentum it gained, and then jumped back quickly. Slightly dazed, Ekans fired a Leer at the Doduo, making it lose defensive ground as it gained footing. Going in for the next attack, Ekans reared backwards, and let out a massive stream of poisoned shots. Getting hit by the majority of theml, the Doduo took some good damage, partialy thanks to the defense down. With the free head, it let off a Growl at Ekans, bringing it's attack power down to match it's own. With the defense down, however, it still wouldn't be even. All looks pretty well on Ekan's side, but Pinsir took a good bit of damage last turn. One battle may go easy, but another may end up with two to one wild, if things go badly. Silas frowned in frustration. He barely passed the limits of Nogou, and here he was faced with another tough battle. They seemed to lie in wait for him wherever he went. The blows had been dealt, but all four Pokemon were still standing. Except for Ekans of course, who was sort of coiled on the ground due to his lack of legs. Silas had anticipated the Doduo's attack to be weakened by the intimidating nature of Ekans, but not the Skorupi's as well since Ekans wasn't focused on it. His Ekans was bold and his Pinsir was ruthless. They were prepared to fight tooth, horn, coil, and claw to help Silas win this battle. All they needed was a little guidance. The gears in Silas' mind were racing, as he glanced from one battle to the other. That Skorupi's powerful attack was unexpected, but not the end of the world. Pinsir was focused, and the Skorupi was intimidated already. If Pinsir could switch this to a defensive battle, he might be able to hold out long enough for Ekans to finish the Doduo off and join the battle. That was the best approach to take. "Ekans." Ekans cocked his head slightly backwards to hear his master's orders. "Kanss?" "Weaken its resolve and its defenses even more by hitting it with another Leer, than launch yourself at it with Wrap! If you can slither around its two necks and apply some pressure, you should be able to do some significant damage and have it avoid pecking you!" "EKANSSSSS!" While the serpentine Pokemon rushed to follow the orders, Silas turned towards his Pinsir. "Pinsir, use Focus. Concentrate on boosting your defenses to weaken the damage that Skorupi can deal you. It can't keep hitting you with that move if it wants to have any energy at all. After building up your defenses, make it feel the pain of your powerful Vicegrip! Don't forget those weak spots." "SIR!" The horned beetle Pokemon glared through its scarred eye and prepared to launch the moves at the opposing Skorupi. Silas' voice hadn't raised a decibel. No sense in getting emotional when he needed to be cool and calculating. This battle had only just begun. Edited by Silas, Jul 6 2009, 11:30 AM.

Well, Ekans moved first this round. Shooting off a Leer first, it jumped quickly after it and coiled around the Doduo. The bird was getting ready to Peck anyway, but the Pokeball in it's mouth seemed to prevent it from doing two at a time. The left head delivering a Peck into the coils that were tightening around it, and the right head dropped the Pokeball, and delivered a Peck of it's own. The Wrap seemed to do alot, and the -2 defense helped with that. Ekans seemed generally unphased by it, the lowered attack probably helping. It tightened the coils, and some more damage came out of being trapped. Tightening again, the Doduo cried out in pain, the attack finally having it's effect. This bird wasn't going anywhere. The Pokeball that the Doduo had been holding was now very close to you, and maybe picking it up would be a good idea at this point. It was Pinsir's battle to watch, now. He used Focus on defense, and boosted the resiliance of his shell. Jumping for another of the weak spots it had been able to find out, Pinsir clamped this time between a join on the Skorupi's tail, and pulled it into the air. Not only was it now imobile again, but it also couldn't launch the Night Slash while it was being held. It's frontal body still able to move however it wanted on the most part, the Skorupi fought back the pain it was enduring from it's tail, and clamped it's jaws onto one of Pinsir's horn. Now, this wen't both ways with pain, but Pinsir was forced to release in reflex again. Skorupi dropped onto it's head, between the horns now, and used Knock Off to launch itself off of the beetle, by swiftly digging one of it's claws into Pinsir's forehead and bolting. That... really stung. But, with the defense up, it didn't do as much as the Skorupi had hoped. This little bastard was tough! The double critical hits were getting to it, though, as it began to pant. Pinsir was also prety beat up, as well. One or two more strong hits from either side could result in the end of this battle, so the next turn has to be picked out carefully.... Silas looked at Pinsir. He had done quite a hefty amount of damage to the opposing Skorupi, although he had also taken a beating. Both insects looked like they were about to drop. If Pinsir could get another couple hits in, he might be able to end this battle now. Fortunately Pinsir had one thing the Skorupi didn't: Oran Berries. Silas reached into his bag and pulled one of them out, running up and handing it to Pinsir. "Eat this, Pinsir. It'll give you some of your stamina back, allowing you to continue the fight! Then use Focus again, but this time on your Attack power. Gather all your strength, and then lash at it with your Vicegrip. Make it tap out to the pressure of your horns." "Pinsir!" The ever-enthusiastic insect Pokemon clacked its horns after recieving the berry in its clawed hands. It was never happier than in the heat of a tough battle, and it seemed this new area was willing to oblige. "Ekanssss!" Hearing his Ekans' call caused Silas to switch his attention back to his other Pokemon. Ekans was ready for more, but the Doduo had managed to drop the Pokeball and focus both of its heads on its attacker. A minor setback, but not one that couldn't be handled. Silas knew that as long as the Doduo was caught in Ekans' coils, it wouldn't be able to dodge his attacks. "Ekans, I would like you to Focus on your attack power as well. Feel the power pulsating through your coils, and make sure not to let that bird go! After you've gathered up your strength, hit it with your Poison Sting at point-blank! Use your venom to your advantage!" "Kanssssssss!" While his Pokemon rushed to get the advantage over their opponents in the next battle phase, Silas ran over and picked up the empty Pokeball. Waste not want not, right? Silas kept his composure and waited for the next steps. They could literally swing the battle either way. Edited by Silas, Jul 8 2009, 12:50 AM.

Ooh, this battle looks like it could go either way! A critical places here or there could easily end either side's battles..... But that wouldn't be as interesting, would it? Skorupi moved first this time, running up as Pinsir ate the Oran Berry. It started off with a Leer, getting rid of the heightened Defense it built up with Focus before. And wouldn't you know it, it seconded with a Night Slash right across the mid section. Seeing as Night Slash's effect is a raise to the critical hit ratio of the one move, it was at 2 now, and that slash had been a nasty critical. This dropped Pinsir about back to where it was before the berry, with one difference: Skorupi was vastly lower then it. This made for a nice comeback...... Pinsir began it's assault, Focusing to Attack. Not having enough time to go after a weak spot, Pinsir lunged forward and clamped onto whatever it could reach. The Vicegrip clamped right onto one of the armored segments, sadly delivering no Critical of his own. But, this did help take the Skorupi down farther. The Skorupi weakened as it was, it still had some energy in it. If a capture would try to be made, it would be wise to wail untill it's HP drops to 0. A fainted Pokemon is the easiest to catch, yes? Now, we go back to Ekans. It obeyed it's orders, and Focused to Attack. Having a thought of it's own, it tightened extra hard, into another Wrap attack. It the followed with the Poison Sting that was ordered, but sadly no poisoning status was given. This still did some nasty damage, and Doduo's HP dropped down low. It still had it's moves to go, though, and dished out a double-headed Peck attack. This time, Ekans yelped in pain. The head that had been holding the Pokeball before scored a Critical hit, and a nasty mark was left where it had dug it's beak into the coils. Hm... Well, all in all, after a turn of the regular happenings, the battle is still for either sides. The next turn should be the deciding factor for both, though. Long battle shouldn't be too long.... Silas didn’t even flinch during the last cycle. It wasn’t his nature to panic as the battle was heightening to brutal proportions. In fact, he was so cool and collected that he bought himself two lottery tickets! He simply had to deliver the piece de resistance, and Ekans and Pinsir would be able to rise and overcome their obstacles. Pinsir needed to be able to deliver a critical blow, asking him to do a lot might not be the best idea. Ekans on the other hand had weakened Doduo considerably. He was already utilizing that powerful Wrap attack, so if he could deal the bird some more damage it might just succumb to exhaustion. Silas reached into his pocket and pulled out a second Pokeball. Combined with the one he got from the wild Doduo, he now was prepared to catch both of the opposing Pokemon. If they had the cajones and the brains to attack him in a pincer from both sides, then surely they would make good additions to his team. That Night Slash the Skorupi kept using also had lucrative properties besides being a superior battle technique. “They have put up quite the fight, but it’s time to end this. Ekans. Keep up the pressure on the Wrap, and then hit it with your Poison Sting. One more blast should take it down for the count.” Silas shifted his focused gaze towards his Pinsir. “Pinsir. Find that weakpoint with your Vicegrip. After that, slap it in a Bind until it caves into your superior attack.” “Pinnnnnnsir!” “SSSSSSS!” Silas gripped the Pokeballs tightly, filled with anticipation of the next attacks. The end was drawing near. Edited by Silas, Jul 10 2009, 01:27 AM.

And now it was time to draw this battle to a close. All four of the Pokemon on the field didn't have much HP, but they still had a helluva lot of fight left in them, to be sure. As you surveyed the two individual battles taking place, your Pokemon would both attempt to end their skirmishes quickly before they tired out too much. We'll start with the Doduo and Ekans this time. The twin-headed fledgling was struggling valiantly against the iron grip that was your snake's lithe body coiled around its neck, but to no avail. The grasp that held its two necks together was powerful, and it didn't help Doduo's case at all that its defenses were lowered and Ekans' attack was raised. The supple purple convolution gave a final squeeze that took out a sizable chunk of HP, and opened its detachable jaw wide to release the barrage of poisoned needles toward the Doduo. Sensing its impending doom, Doduo lashed out in a final act of desperation; both of its heads jabbed their beaks with pecks toward Ekans body. One beak missed altogether, and the other made the mistake of attempting to peck Ekans in the mouth. The needles slammed into its face point blank, and Doduo fell. Ekans slithered away from the now fainted bird's body, content with its role in the dramatic ending of the battle. It was tired to be sure, but satisfied with its work. Your first Pokeball, which had ironically been in the Doduo's mouth just a few moments before, soared in its solitary arc through the air, smacking the feathered body with unerring aim and drawing it into the mysterious interior. The Pokeball glowed as it began to shake with Doduo's last struggle toward freedom: shake one, shake two...shake three! The capture device gave off a slightly muted ding, and the deed was done. Congratulations, you're the proud new owner of a feisty Doduo! As for Pinsir and Skorupi, things were really heating up. Skorupi, for all its injuries and Pinsir's greater physical strength, would not go down without a very tough fight. It took advantage of Pinsir's breather while waiting for your orders, and dark-type energy swirled menacingly around its tail stingers as it made its advance. The stingers slashed hard across Pinsir's shell before it had a chance to react, and Pinsir fell down. Thinking it had fainted, Skorupi looked to your direction -- you could have sworn it was smirking sardonically -- and turned its back on Pinsir to walk away. That was its final mistake. Pinsir had simply been, for lack of a better phrase, playing dead -- and now it would make its attack and have the last laugh. Coming to its senses and gathering its power in those threatening horns, it lunged with all its might, and... score! You finally landed the critical hit you'd been focusing all the battle for. Skorupi barely had the time to emit a wail of surprise and glare in your direction before it fainted, and your Pokeball connected. The same process repeated itself as with the Doduo before. Shake one, two, three, and Skorupi was caught. That was it! You'd succeeded in catching both of the wild Pokemon, and gotten some training in too. Well done! But I suggest you get those little buggers healed up now. They don't look so hot... Ekans gains 10 !Ekans Leveled Up to Level 7 with 4 left over!Pinsir gains 13.3 !Pinsir Leveled Up to Level 8 with 5 left over!Pinsir learned Seismic Toss! Doduo gains 5 !Skorupi gains 6.7 !Doduo was caught! Skorupi was caught! {{OOC: Profile edited. Congrats.}} |

Silas walked over and picked up his two new Pokemon. He let one of his rare smiles escape onto into his face. This Doduo had something that his team had been lacking: speed. Also, that powerful move the Skorupi used had very lucrative properties. He had read somewhere that people would be willing to pay to have their Pokemon learn new moves, and it looked like it was powerful enough for breeding as well. Maybe he found a job that he wouldn't be considered an illegal activity. He turned to his two exhausted Pokemon. Silas had never been much of a speaker, but after a battle like that he knew it would be rude and dishonorable not to commend their strength. "Thanks, you guys. You both did phenomenal. Pinsir, great work handling a Pokemon that clearly had some levels over you. Ekans, congratulations on your first battle win. I'm proud of both of you." Pinsir flexed his arms and clacked his horns in victory. Ekans smiled and hissed happily. "SIR!" "Ekansssss!" Silas's smile widened. His Pokemon were elated, and that made him elated. They didn't care if he wasn't a motivational speaker. They simply wanted to be encouraged and cared for. "You both can rest, but be wary. We still have a way to go before we reach Joukai, and we need to be prepared for anything. Return." Silas held out their two balls, as the red beam came out and transported them inside. He put the four Pokeballs on his belt and looked around. The area was relatively quiet for a popular route. Silas figured that more people would have been out today, instead of two wild Pokemon ganging up on him. He continued down the stretch, going over his current plan of action. The good Nurse Joy had told him that there were caves near Joukai Pass that Snorunt called home. He thought about it, and decided that maybe he should try and find a female one, considering his team was very male dominated right now. And then there were also those genderless pokemon... now THAT was an intriguing concept. Silas didn't have long to think about it though, for up the road from him he saw two figures and a whole mess of Pokemon. It appeared that they were combatting a Miltank. Silas' smile turned to a grimace. He apparently would never find time just to relax. Silas made a mental note to spend a whole week at the next Pokemon Center he came across. He continually walked towards them. As soon as he was in earshot, he called out to them, his trench coat fluttering in the breeze. "Need help?" |

The past shapes up, but we shape the future.

Having parted ways from Yuki and Sora, Silas was now all on his own. Well, he had he Ekans but still no human companions with him. The man ventured around Route One for a bit, seeking out a cavern of sorts that might hold inside for him that precious Snorunt he wanted to badly. Unfortunately, there weren't any caves of note this close to the village of Nogou, as this terrain was mainly flat. If he wanted to find a dark, cold place he would more than likely have to make his way up hill into the colder reaches of Alternia, more likely in the Joukai Pass area. Somewhere not to far in the distance a purple balloon-like creature drifted along, just taking it easy. Perhaps this Pokemon intrigued Silas? But would it be enough to stop the man on his quest to hunt out that Snorunt? Either way, Silas would have to do some marching before he got to either one. A choice had to be made, but really wasn't limited to the choice of going towards the Joukai Pass where a cave might be, or going after that balloon Pokemon that might be wild to catch. Oh, choices. They really do bring out the character in someone. Depending on the given options their call to pick one of them really said something about them, like if their goals were something they went after at all times or were just there to make them look good. Of course Silas could ignore both choices and carve a path for himself, which could end up being bad, or possibly rather fruitful. The story lies untold as of yet, but as the main character Silas had a world of opportunity in front of him.

Silas had just left his two new friends heading the other direction towards Nogou. As he walked along, this floaty balloon like thing just sort of drifted around near him. Silas stopped and looked at it for a few minutes. He thought it was a child's plaything gone astray at first, but realized that it was indeed a Pokemon. It was so carefree and peaceful. It was content to just float on with the breeze. Silas rubbed his chin with his left hand, and reflected upon the other natures of his Pokemon. Pinsir and Skorupi were too focused on battle and strength to be this carefree. Ekans was to intense with his intimidation and fear-based tactics. Doduo was constantly on the move and known for it's speed, which didn't give it the time to relax. Silas had to admit that this thing was certainly a far more lax Pokemon than he had encountered yet. Silas flipped out his Poketech and began to do some research. According to the Pokedex app on his ebony Poketech, this Pokemon was a Drifloon, a combination of ghost and flying types. Apparently they were a tad on the rare side as well, something that could fetch a pretty penny from an interested collector. Never one to blow over an oppurtunity, Silas decided to approach the Drifloon. He knew he had a bit to go before reaching Joukai, but perhaps he could take a few minutes and investigate this interesting Pokemon. He didn't want to waste his Pokemon's energies in a battle, but maybe this Pokemon's nature was as lax as he imagined it would be and he could simply converse with it. Maybe even play with it a bit. He walked up to it and walked alongside it. "Hey there, little fella. Nice day for floating around, isn't it?" He smiled at it, but held one hand under his trench coat. His hand was hovering over Doduo's ball just incase the Drifloon wasn't as peaceful as it appeared to be. Edited by Silas, Jul 26 2009, 08:49 PM.
