As you stepped onto the streets of Kijutsu, you could feel a fresh breeze lightly wrap around your ankles and cool you. Kijustsu is one of the region's principle cities because of its economic purpose in Alternia. It provides the other towns in the region with technological goods and other modern gadgets and technologies. So basically you made a good choice in selecting your city; lets just try not to get you into any trouble while your here. So now you were in this region with your Pokemon, ready to start a new life of stealing and theft. You'd need time to adapt to the changes of the area but it shouldn't take too long really. People were generally quite slow when it came to noticing people watching them. This would be a piece of cake, maybe you could try to steal some cake too? No, in the industrial town of Kijutsu you should be going for the bigger things! Anyway, there are many things that you can do here. Go to the park, look for a job, you could even look for pokemon that inhabit urban areas. Though, some pokemon like Grimer aren't always nice to have around. However, there are plenty of other things to do as well including finding another pokemon trainer and battling him or her for glory, honor, and the right to rub it in their face if your opponent loses. Remember though, battling is just as much physical as it it mental. Fair warning if you choose the path of the warmongerer. In fact look over there I see a Ralts! Do you want to fight it? Jack sighed. His plan for straying away from Confusion was successful in the way that it dealt damage, but it still didn’t do anything significant. Now Ralts even seemed to be weakened more than the Nidoran. Jack needed to do something, but what exactly could he do? Once again Jack tried to think of another strategy to use. Maybe after a turn not using confusion, this round he could get one off and do some decent damage. But what if its too much for Ralts? Jack found him fighting himself of what to use, something he wasn't used to doing. Battling always seemed much easier to him than this. Jack looked at the Nidoran. There wasn’t much Ralts could do. Strike didn't do enough damage, and Ralts was smaller than Nidoran so Belly Flop wouldn't do too much either. It looked like it was up to Confusion. Jack clinched his fists and gritted his teeth. He knew that Confusion might be alot for Ralts, but he had to do it. "Ok Ralts, use Staredown on Nidoran. Try to make an evil glare and lower its defense. Next use Confusion. Try not to drain yourself too much. The Staredown should help you do more damage to. Come on, I know you can do it" Jack shouted out hoping he hadn’t made the wrong decision. |

Ralts began by glaring meanly at the Nidoran, which took the small, pink rhino's? defense down one stage. It then started to run at Ralts, getting ready for a good Peck. Ralts acted quickly, though, and sent a strong Confusion blasting it's way. It was double the power of a usual confusion, indicating a Critical hit. Although this didn't do wonders on energy, it DID smash headlong into the Nidoran, and toppled it into a KO. And thus, the battle is over! Well, all wasn't exactly good and nifty, though. The current battle may have ended, but something else was riiiight about to happen. Several figures moved through the grass around Jack and his Ralts, which was NOT a good thing. Especially after how much energy was used on that last Confusion. Only one question floated through Jack's mind: Freind, or foe? Or are they just scavengers looking to get the left overs of this battle? 2 out of 3 answers aren't looking too good, here.... Jack watched silently as what would be the last round of the battle began. Just then his poketech began to beep and he had received a message. "A message? For me?" he said to himself. He wasn't expecting any kind of message, but when he looked down at his poketech, he soon remembered what this message was about. Riddler Results, the screen read. Jack clicked a button opening the message and a smile spread across his face. Dear Jack, we are pleased to inform you that you have taken first place in our June Weekly Riddler. Your prize has been sent to your PC. We hope you like your prize and don't forget to join us next time. Thank you for playing. Jack clinched his fist and let out a sharp "Yes!". (The prize was already added to my profile, I was just making it more realistic.) After a moment of celebration, he remembered he was still in the middle of a battle. He turned to the battle and realized that luckily for him, the confusion call was perfect and Ralts managed to get a critical hit, knocking the Nidoran out and ending the battle. "Great job Ralts!" Jack shouted in excitement. Ralts looked back at his trainer, huffing and puffing. The last confusion really took a lot of energy from him. "You rest a little Ralts, I am going to catch Nidoran and then I can take you guys to the center," Jack said as he reached down for an empty poke ball. As Jack gripped onto his empty ball and clicked the center button making the ball sort of bloat up into a bigger form, he heard some rustles in the nearby grass. As Jack looked over, he could see that there were now a few figures moving in toward him, Ralts, and the fainted Nidoran. "What the?" Jack mumbled to himself. Several thought ran through his mind, but the one that seemed most likely true was that they were after the Nidoran. "You’re not getting my Pokémon!" Jack shouted as he reached the red and white ball back and tossed it at the fainted purple Pokémon. He watched carefully, while still making sure to keep an eye on the figures. "Ralts, I know you are out of energy, but if one of them tries to run in for the Nidoran before it is caught, I want you to just let out a Growl. Jack wasn't about to let some random thing take away what was rightfully his. |

The pokeball soared forwards to land on one of the horns poking forward from Nidoran's side. The animal drew it's color into the light, turning into a shaped blob of colored brilliance, flashing softly as it was absorbed into the ball. As the device snapped shut, it gave a soft hum, which broke and vibrated as the ball shook, waiting for the Nidoran's will to bend. It took a much shorter time than expected before the ball quieted. Ralts' little elbows folded, his paws curled in front of his chest. Whether that was defensive and frightened in his weakened condition or bold and competetive was difficult to tell. Perhaps now would be a good time to let loose your Pinsir to fight for you? All the same, for the moment anyways, things calmed down. The rustling quieted and drew itself to a dull grumble through the grass, but... If you looked close, you might swear you could see some other little purple beast in the shadows. Whether it was another Nidoran, or a rattata, or something else, however, there was too much distance and dark for you to be able to tell directly. |

Jack ran over to the pokeball as it shut down, implementing the fact that he had just caught another Pokémon. Ralts followed close beside him, trying not to seem to frightened in front of his trainer. As Jack reached the pokeball, he held the capsule up in triumph and let out a "Yes!". Now normally he would have celebrated a lot more, but that's before he remembered that he wasn't alone. Frantically, Jack began to scan the the horizon. He remembered seeing the figures, but now they seemed to be gone. Finally after a few seconds of looking around, Jack found the figures once more. It was too dark, and the shadows of whatever it was that was watching Jack was too far away, but from where he stood they seemed to be a purplish color. "Not another Nidoran," Jack said quietly to himself. Jack's Pokémon were in no condition to battle, especially if there were more than one. Ralts was already weak, and Pinsir was probably still a bit hurt from the fight with Ralts. Jack clinched Ralt's pokeball and pressed the button opening it up and the flash of light sucked the small Pokémon back in his pokeball. Jack than clinched the pokeball containing his Pinsir. Pinsir might not have been at full health, but he was Jack's only help. Jack knew he needed a Poke Center, but he was never one to run from a fight. |

Pinsir stood by your side, ready to fight but weary never less. Lets hope this "purple beast" doesn't give you much trouble. Pinsir glared in the direction of the creature, ready to slice it in half at the first sign of danger. The setting sun didn't aid you very much, and pretty soon the flaring orange sky was drowned in a deep, calm blue. Finally... the creature came close enough for you to see... and when it did you couldn't belive your eyes. The creature that you were all worried about was a Shinx! A shinx that was covered in... purple paint? It didn't take Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison or Jimmy Neutron to figure out some thing was messed up about this picture. Suddenly the small animal let out a small moan and collapsed. You reach out to feel this odd paint but upon touch your whole finger is filled with a horrid burning feeling. When it settles down you conclude that this liquid is the result of a sludge attack... a powerful one, too. Seeing as you were located in Kijutsu a sludge attack can easily have come from a Koffing, Weezing, Grimer or Muk. It must have run into one of them and gotten the royal welcome. That doesn't really matter right now, though. You've got to assist this poor fella one way or another! and you need to do it NOW. lv.3

Jack silently looked in the direction of the creature. It looked like it was coming toward him, but still it was too dark to tell for sure. Jack peered down beside him at the Pinsir that now stood at his side. Pinsir was probably his best fighter, and was also his best and most loyal friend. The bug Pokémon who in Jack’s opinion served much better as a Fighting-type Pokémon, clamped together his pincers and put his hands up in a boxing position, ready to take on whatever it was that was about to reach the duo. As the figure approached closer, Jack began to tense up. He wasn’t scared, but rather excited now to see what exactly was about to attack him. Jack however would soon lose his adrenaline when he found what was walked up to him. “What the?” Jack asked himself as he looked down to find a Shinx who was covered in some kind of purple goo. Jack bent down to examine the purple liquid gunk on Shinx, before finally touching it. When his finger began to burn he jumped back and began to shake his hand rapidly trying to fling the mysterious purple stuff off his finger. Jack definitely wasn’t stupid, in fact he was rather smart. So it didn’t take him long to realize that this belonged to a poison-type Pokémon. Most likely a Grimer, but it also could belong to Gulpin or a Koffing was his first thoughts. Noticing that Jack had to be the one to do something about this, he bent down and tried to find a spot that wasn’t covered in this strange sludge. Hopefully he could do so, so that he could pet the Pokémon and maybe make it feel a little safer around him. “It’s going to be ok, I’ve got you now,” Jack said to the electric Pokémon. Jack reached into his pocket and pulled out an empty pokeball and laid it next to the Shinx. “I can help you I promise, all you have to do is jump in this ball and I assure I will help you feel a lot better,” Jack calmly said to the Pokémon. “Pinsir, tell it to touch the center of the ball to make it open,” Jack spoke twisting around to face his Pinsir. |

"Pin!" your Pinsir merely stated to you, before before kneeling down to face the clearly drained Shinx you had come across - who had obviously seen better days."Pin! Pinsi, pin!" he muttered to the Shinx, franctically trying to get the Shinx to touch the catch on the empty pokéball - at least, that's what you were hoping that your pokémon was trying to do. Since you haven't got a clue what he's saying, your Pinsir may be trying to tell the Shinx to get away as quickly as she could. However, much to your delight, the drained Shinx began crawling towards the empty pokéball you had left out for her - it was clear that the poison from whatever pokémon attacked her was finally taking a hold upon her frail body. "Shi..." she moaned, seemingly struggling to stay conscious long enough to touch the small catch upon the red and white sphere - which was somewhat distressing for you. If the poison really took hold upon her, it was likely that it would cause lasting damage - which, for a pokémon so young, was heart-breaking. Thankfully, just as it seemed that the Shinx wasn't going to make it, your Pinsir decided to take matters into his own hands, picking up the young pokémon and pressing her face into the catch of the pokéball - it was hardly the best idea for your Pinsir, though. After all, whilst the Shinx became a ball of white light, your Pinsir was on the ground, trying to get over the burning sensation of the poison he had resultingly gotten onto his hands - trust me, it hurt. "PIN!!!" he screamed, rolling around in an attempt to shake the burning sensation that had afflicted upon his body - like hell that was going to help him. That poison was obviously far too thick for him to remove on his own - you were clearly going to need a pokémon center for both him and your newly caught Shinx! It's bleeding obvious, to be honest - though what is your next move? You have caught a Shinx! |

Jack watched in disbelief as the pokeball shut down sealing the deal on the capture. He never imagined such an easy catch such as this one. Jack wasn't going to complain, knowing that when Shinx evolved, they were decently strong Pokémon. Jack's celebration would have to be put on hold just like the one for Nidoran, for he now had something else to deal with. He had to get to the bottom of what was going on with this Shinx. Why was it covered in sludge? Jack turned to his Pinsir who was now in pain. "Thanks alot, your such a great Pokémon," he said to his Pinsir. Jack then took out Pinsir's pokeball and with a flash of bright blinding light, returned him to safety. Jack pondered about what to do next. He obviously needed to get to the Pokémon center, but where exactly was it even located. His train of thought was now way off track. And then what would he do afterward? So much to do, so little time. I'll just go until I find one I suppose," Jack said turning to his right and continuing to walk. He had no idea where he was going, all he knew is that all of his Pokémon needed healed. After he got them all successfully healed, he could search for the cause of Shinx pain. "This sure has been a crazy day," Jack mumbled to himself looking around his surroundings. Edited by Jackpot, Jul 18 2009, 07:42 PM.

Well, Jack... you really have hit the Jackpot... but of course it costs money, or in this case a trip to the pokemon center. You walk silently away from the area your epic battle flared, and toward the center... hopefully. You pass an ornate Itallian resturant called "Lapinsco Yoviela's Deluxe Ravioli! Only the healthiest ingredients and the finest result!" , this seemed to be a wonderful place to take your pokemon to eat after to day's hard work... especially because a granite sign saying "Pokemon and their trainers get $20 off all meals!" and another one on the opposite wall--this one make of copper-- said the following: PEOPLE RAVIOLI........ Vegi.............. $25 Cheese......... $25 Plain Meat..... $25 Cheesy Vegi.. $30 Spicy Meat..... $30 Spicy Vegi...... $30 POKEMON RAVIOLI...... Vegi............. $30 Cheese....... $30 Plain meat... $30 Sweet Berry $30 Sour Berry... $30 Dry Berry..... $30 Spicy Berry... $30 Bitter Berry... $30 Cheesy berry $30 Berry Mix....... $35 Well, as soon as these pokemon are healed this is a delightful place you could relax at... of corse that's after they're healed. You stroll farther down the dry pavement from another five minutes until you see a glowing red plastic-like building... the Pokemon center has been successfully found! You stroll on in and hand the nurse your pokemon. She reappears with them and says: ""Your Pinsir and your Shinx are badly poisoned... this ointment will soothe and quicken healing, so rub it on everyday for five days... shinx's whole body and Pinsirs hands are where it needs to be spread", She hands over a tube of ointment equivalent in size to a tube of toothpaste. Finally, your outside with all your healed pokemon and a tube of ointment. Now what? Are you going to go to the restaurant and have a celebration dinner? Or is the time of exploring still yet to pass for today? Your move, amigo. You obtained a tube of poison cure ointment! |

Jack strolled past the small restaurant. The restaurant really didn't appeal to Jack at the moment, which was strange for someone like him who is always hungry. It just seemed that the sludge covered poison sort of just threw his appetite. Even more strangely was the fact that Weezing was one of Jack's favorites. Jack made his way to the Pokémon Center gave all four of them to the nurse, so he could finally have his Pokémon fully healed. This was also the place where Jack could withdraw his Spoink onto his team. Which was something else he was waiting to do. As the nurse took his Pokémon into the back to get healed, Jack stepped over to the PC. The PC was like an ATM, in which Jack typed in his ID number, at the pure laziness of not feeling like getting out his card. Once the numbers were in, a screen full of features loaded, and Jack touched the 'Withdraw Pokémon' feature. Next he touched the small picture of a spoink, and watched a pokeball appeared in a small slot next to him. Finally, he logged out and walked over to the nurse where she handed him his pokeballs along with a strange tube. "Your Pinsir and your Shinx are badly poisoned... this ointment will soothe and quicken healing, so rub it on everyday for five days... shinx's whole body and Pinsirs hands are where it needs to be spread", she said handing over the tube. "Sure thing," Jack said as he put the four pokeballs and the ointment into his bag. Jack said by to the nurse, and turned around heading out of the doors of the friendly building. "Where to now," Jack said to himself looking around. There was the restaurant as he previously seen. Jack also remembered thinking he saw a menu with berries, which could come in handy for his Pokémon. Although, there were already cooked inside the ravioli. "Maybe they have some whole berries that they havent cooked yet!" Jack said to himself. "Ok, we go get some berries from the restaurant and then we search!" Jack said out loud looking around hoping noone thought he was crazy. Who knows, maybe he will find something else of interest at this restaurant. Edited by Jackpot, Jul 19 2009, 10:56 AM.

You stroll down to Lapinsco Yoviela's Deluxe Ravioli, hoping to get some fresh berries. When you go inside, you ask about berries that were un-cooked. The clerk at the counter was an old lady... but a nice one. Unfortunately she said they needed all their berries to make ravioli. I'm guessing that you didn't want to buy any ravioli. Other than that, there was nothing else to do in the restaurant other than staring at the wall. So you walked out empty handed. When you step out from the fragrant building, you realize how dark it is outside. Maybe grabbing some food and taking it back to the center to eat and then sleeping wasn't such a bad idea. No chance of finding the source of the poison now... might as well take care of yourself. Of course... when I say take car of your self... it doesn't necessarily have to be boring. There's a brightly colored ice cream parlor just across the street and an arcade next to that. A dark night in the city may not be too boring... if you could find something to do. Sorry it's so short... but there was nothing happening for me to build on. |

Jack felt a bit upset when the lady told him that they had used all of the berries. He was hoping to at least get a few whole ones for his Pokémon. Besides that, he really wasn’t hungry. “Now what to do?” he asked himself as he looked around. He couldn’t believe just how boring this day had become after such an exciting start. He thought night life in such a crazy town would be somewhat exciting. As Jack stepped away from the restaurant, he looked up at the sky. It was probably too late now to look for the cause of Shinx pain. Plus, he already got the electric Pokémon healed, and the ointment would heal the burn right off in a few days. Was there even a reason to seek out the Grimer or whatever it was anymore? Jack sighed and continued walking. A few more seconds later, Jack finally found something somewhat appealing. He stopped and examined a bit more, before he was completely sure that it was an arcade. Jack jogged over to the shop and readied himself to walk in. Besides, he did have a few extra dollars from winning the monthly Riddler not too long ago. |

The Traveling Merchant

It was unbelievable how dark this part of the city was at night. But actually when you think about it, that's probably why there is so much crime. The stars and the moon were the only set of lights besides the black lights of the nearby bars and small restaurants. But none of that sounded appealing to you. No, you were more interested in that arcade over there. Well, let’s go shall we. You jogged across the dark street, noticing that there were no street lights. It was probably a good idea to go inside the arcade, out here was probably nothing but trouble. The arcade was a decent size. Lot of bright lights could be seen going off inside, mostly of the purple and blue color. Opening the door, you found that the inside view was a lot easier than the outdoor one. You could now see kids enjoying their games and a few adults sitting at some tables eating some tasting looking pizza. However, you not hungry remember so let’s move onto the games. You decided to walk around and get a better look at all of the games this arcade had to offer. They had your typical games like, Whack-A-Mole, Racing games, Basketball, Ski ball, and some other newer games. A few teenage girls could be seeing playing Dance, Dance. So if you’re into that kind of thing there’s always that, or if you’re just into the ladies there you go. Also to your left is a room devoted straight to gambling. There are slot machines and card tables set up with signs saying ’Huge Payout!’ hanging up all around. Most likely a joke, but maybe you're one to test your luck? Other than that, there are plenty of other games, it just takes some tokens. Oh, this is over there in that corner. "Hurry!" you hear to your right as you continued to examine all the fun games. The voice sounded urgent but like it was trying to be quiet at the same time. Being nosey you peak around the corner to find a boy that looks the age of around 15. He has shaggy black hair and if wearing a black t-shirt and baggy jeans. His shoes are a fresh clean white like he just bought them. He wore a lot of gold necklaces around his neck, and honestly he looked like your average gangster. Accompanying the kid were two pokemon, both electric-type. One was a Pikachu and the other a Magnemite. When you looked closer, it seemed that the kid was using his electric pokemon to short circuit the machines to give him more tickets for no coin cost. But wait, that's not fair! Well, the good thing is the little punk hasn't spotted you yet so you have countless options. You could just ignore him and continue on with your fun. Or you could teach him a lesson. Or you could even join him! After all you have an electric pokemon as well.

Jack looked around the arcade in excitement. It was a whole lot bigger than it initially looked from the outside. Surrounded by every game ever imaginable, Jack tried to think of what to play first. The black lights bounced off of his shirt making him pretty much glow as he continued to just stand still in amazement. Jack remained still until he saw the sign which read 'Huge Payout'. "A casino too?!" Jack said to himself. Now this was his type of place. Jack began to walk toward the casino when he heard a strange voice. The voice sounded like it was yelling at someone, but quietly. "Huh?" Jack said as he looked around the corner to find a gangster looking kid and his two electric Pokemon. Jack was about to introduce himself until he saw just what the kid was doing. Using the electricity from his Pikachu and Magnemite, the kid was doing something to the machine and getting FREE tickets! Jack had to stop this. He was raised to always try to do what was right. Jack looked around for a moment for someone who may have worked here, until he got a better idea. The kid didn't seem to have noticed him yet, and instead of snitching; why not a battle!? Jack stepped back around the corner for a moment and reached into his backpack. "First thing is first," Jack said pulling out a strange egg and a container for it. With a smile Jack placed his Magby egg into the Egg Container. "That'll help you hatch a lot quicker," Jack said to his egg. Jack set the container carefully back into his backpack and reached down in once again, this time pulling out two pokeballs. Turning the corner, Jack tossed his pokeballs out onto the floor. "Go Pinsir! Go Ralts!" He shouted. "This kid right here is up to no good guys!" Jack said pointing at the gangster kid. "Lets get him. Ralts, start this off with a Confusion on Magnemite or Pikachu whichever is easier for you! Pinsir use Focus Energy and then Vicegrip on Pikachu!" |
