As you stepped onto the streets of Millenia town, you could feel a fresh breeze lightly wrap around your ankles and cool you. Millenia town is one of the region's principle cities because of its economic purpose in Alternia. The town of Millenia was the technological city for the region. It supplied many of the regions importaint trainer gear. So basically you made a good choice in selecting your city; lets just try not to get you into any trouble while your here.

It was the perfect day do start on an adventure! The sun was shining brightly, a few clouds drifted in the sky, and it was fairly warm today. It seemed as thogh almost a fourth of the population was relaxing at the beach! Sure, you may want to start your journey and leave your hometown, but plenty of Pokemon can be found on a beach where others can't!

Anyway, there are many things that you can do here. Go to the beach, look for a job, you could even look for pokemon that inhabit urban areas. Though, some pokemon like Grimer aren't always nice to have around. However, there are plenty of other things to do as well including finding another pokemon trainer and battling him or her for glory, honor, and the right to rub it in their face if your opponent loses. Remember though, battling is just as much physical as it it mental. Fair warning if you choose the path of the warmongerer. In fact look over there I see a Glameow!

Warmth wasn't something Christophe was used to. No, his apartment was always kept at a comfortable 69 degrees. The heat was only made worse by the black tuxedo he was wearing, which was attracting quite a few awkward glances from both the locals and the tourists. He ignored them, of course, he didn't care what they thought of him. Christophe had rested at the Pokémon Center last night, he couldn't be bothered returning home. The street in front of the red roofed building was extremely busy, and filled with Pokémon Trainers. He ignored them too. He wanted to get out of this city as soon as possible, and began to dash down the road. He looked around as he ran, looking for signs, or at least someone who looked helpful. What he found instead, as he raced through the streets, was a gray furred creature with a spring-like tail. He recognized it immediately, a Glameow. He had researched all types of Pokémon during his free time at home, but this wasn't one of them. He knew what it was, and that he hated them. Arrogant, fickle little things, that much he remembered.

Christophe approached the Pokémon as it idled around in the alley, Santiva's Pokeball in his hand. He didn't want to catch it, just beat the living hell out of it. Why? Well, why not? With a quick toss and a flash of white light, a small cerulean figure with a single cream colored fin protruding form its back appeared. She looked around curiously, apparently intimidated by the dark walls of the buildings towering above. The horsea's red eyes darted back and forth, taking in her surroundings. Although, there wasn't much to take in. They were in a rather narrow alley, shadows from the buildings between which it lied darkening it. Scattered across the ground were various articles of trash, ranging from candy wrappers to empty cans. An unpleasant smell was making its way down the alley, causing Santiva to snap back to her senses, finally noticing the Glameow before her. "Santiva, launch a Bubble attack down the alley, then prepare to defend," Christophe ordered in a calm tone.

Arrogant and fickle was right; the Glameow lazily stretched out and mewed at you, batting her eyelids. It seemed so … so prim and proper! Her curly tail uncoiled for a moment before she walked slowly over to you, calling her name out in a long drawl. Ouch, this certainly was one arrogant kitty … wouldn’t want to get on her bad side. However, you had initiated combat, so with one more bat of her pink eyelids, the cat Pokémon sprung into action.

She lunged for Santiva, smashing her two paws together in a resounding clap. Your Horsea seemed a little stunned, flinching at the attack. It was Fake Out, and it had prevented your Horsea from doing anything else this turn. Well, well, I guess your first round in the game didn’t turn out too good, huh? Anyway, the kitty couldn’t use Fake Out anymore, so I say just jump on her and end it!

Glameow gave a sensuous, rumbling purr and proceeded to lick her paws. However, her eyes were sharp, and merciless. If and when she was a Purugly, she was going to be one slick, uh, fat kitty.

Despite how much he dislike Glameow, Christophe had to admit that he was impressed by its intelligence. That wouldn't sway him to attempt to capture it, of course, but it was a trait he liked in his Pokemon. Fiercely pointing at the arrogant cat, Christophe commanded, "Remember its position and use Smokescreen, then launch a Bubble attack through the smoke." It wasn't the best strategy, he knew, but the smoke would hinder him just as much as it would hinder his opponent. He quickly pulled a handkerchief out of the folds of his tuxedo, and covered his mouth with it. He'd really rather not develop any respiratory problems this early in his life.

Santiva seemed hesitant to launch the Smokescreen, but complied anyway. Clenching her eyes shut, the Horsea began to emit a deep, black smoke from its snout, which quickly filled the alley. Christophe squinted his eyes, the smoke making them tear up. That was a brilliant idea, he thought. He was able to make out Santiva, who was only a few feet in front of him, but he couldn't see the Glameow. The Horsea thrust its snout forward, and a barrage of bubbles emerged, cutting through the black smoke like a knife through butter, leaving small holes in the smokescreen.

So, you are the second person today that I've seen have just sheer cold-hearted intent to an otherwise innocent and cute pokemon! What is the world coming to, these days? Sigh. I don't even want to have random banter filling up the entire first paragraph that seems to run on forever and ever and ever... I mean it. I'm stopping here. We're going on with this ref, to see how much you get to suffer for doing such horrible deeds.

The Glameow was surprisingly content with the way the battle was progressing. Heck, it was just over there grooming itself while it waited for you to make up your mind and keep the battle moving. You know, there were probably a lot of trainers out there who would enjoy having a Glameow like this. Perhaps you should consider catching it after all, if nothing else than as a bartering chip. I mean, that's what I do with a lot of my pokemon. It is quite a useful option to have up your sleeve. Whatever you decide to do though, you'd be sure to gain something. Experience, trading, stuff.

Anyway, Santiva followed your commands and shrouded the entire alley in a thick layer of smoke. In a matter of seconds, the visibility was cut down considerably. You couldn't even the Glameow anymore. The only thing I saw wrong with your plan, was that it was assuming the enemy would stay still as you shot bubbles at where it 'was'. Well, we'll see how it plays out. Needless to say, the Glameow wasted no time in dashing forward through the smoke. You hadn't moved, so it was pretty easy to find you, even through all that smoke.

Luckily for you, however, your bubble attack started just in time. Not only did the attack hit full on, but it was also a critical hit! That's pretty amazing, since Santiva has an ability that makes Critical Hits do triple damage! Quite the devastating blow, if I do say so myself. While taking in the surprisingly and momentary victory, the Glameow reached forward and used Scratch on your Horsea not once, but twice! Man, this was turning out to be a really close battle. Well, wait a minute. No, you were actually on the losing end of this one so far. That's kind of problematic. What were you going to do? You needed to turn the tides around pretty fast.

"Ngh, dammit. Use another Smokescreen, Santiva." Christophe hissed, his voice laced with agitation. He didn't really want to deal with this cat, he just wanted to get out of the city. With the way things were going now, he'd probably have to take his Horsea to a Pokemon Center, and then he'd be stuck in Millenia for another day. Christophe would have left after the Smokescreen further obscured the view in the area, but he was too proud for that. This kitty was going down, one way or another. "Now, focus on evading that cat's attacks, and use Bubble when you find an opening."

Santiva couldn't exactly see where her trainer was, and her body stung where the Glameow's claws had stuck. Ignoring the pain momentarily, she prepared another bout of smoke. Before doing so, she jumped to her left, hoping that the prissy cat would think she'd remained stationary. Then, she waited. Looking for any signs of the feline's movement through the smoke that had been released previously. She could make out her trainer, somewhat, but not the cat. Her eyes weren't as sharp as the Glameow's most likely, so she'd probably be spotted first.

You wanted this kitty to go down, and you took a nice approach. Well, using smokescreen was the right thing to do to halt some attacks from her, but now you have this plan made up, and I can only say good luck.

The Glameow was engulfed by the smoke cloud you created, wondering where your Horsea was. She sent out a light meow, revealing where she was. She wasn't the battle type that she could be, but that might be because she is only level five. Well, Santiva shot out some more smokescreen, as you commanded. While that was filling in the gaps of the losing smoke blanket, making the field go into a state of invisible status. Neither side can see, but you had the best advantage right now. Your two attacks issued are both for wider areas that some other attacks. So you had this. Glameow was getting a little angry, though you couldn't see her and even if you did, would you care? Like I said, you want this kitty to go down.

Santiva had yet one more move left, and that she was going to try and impress you with. She started to blow bubbles, and they came out of her little snout as fast as you can blow bubbles from the wand with a huge huff and puff of air. They covered the field, blanketing it just as the smoke did and with the smoke. Pop. Pop. Pop. Some started to pop, and then you lost sight of where and what was popping. You heard a sharp sounding meow from inside the covered field.

You left Glameow in a tight spot. Her scratch attack would not work because she could not see you. Fake Out was a dead one attack, which, again, she could not see you. You left her with the list of global attacks, which every pokemon knew. With only the few things she might be able to do, she used a double Focus on her defense, before the bubbles completely popped. However, as she seen the last few pop around her, the cat noticed that the bubbles took away smoke in small gaps. It was still too much to actually attack. She considered you lucky.
