[ journey start ] They say that technology both advances and hinders mankind. That we take great steps forward, yet lose the things most essential to us ... and so end up moving backwards instead. But talk is cheap and not nearly as interesting as taking a walk on the beach with your Solrock. So here you were. Even though you might not have expected to see very many electronic items so close to a body of water, it was an unwritten rule that Millenia citizens were attached at the hip to their latest gadgets. Pretty girls in bikinis spent less time playing beach volleyball and more time texting on their brightly colored cell phones. Surfers ran into the waves with their iPods encased in waterproof coverings so they could rock out while they cruised the water. Even the snooty business-types could be seen with their laptops. In fact, out of everyone here, it seemed only one person had better things to do than plug in to the interwebs. A redheaded girl who looked to be about your age could be seen standing on the beach with her Mankey, shouting like a drill sergeant. As you passed her, you overheard a bit of her conversation. "... only when the enemy is at half health! Is this understood, greenhorn?!" she yelled. "Man! KEY!" the little monkey-pig hybrid squeaked back, his arm raised in a kind of salute to his trainer. And as if this wasn't odd enough, the girl had noticed you and pointed at you boldly. "You there, punk! I challenge you to take part in our pre-Battle Camp warmup!" she declared, "Think you can handle that, kid?!" It seemed she wanted to fight you. Whether you wanted to accept her challenge or not, well, that's up to you and you alone. What'll it be? Lv5

These pokemon looked really hungry. Perhaps they didn't want a battle, maybe they just wanted dinner? Maybe you could take them out for dinner? Or worse yet, maybe they want you to BE their dinner? Regardless, you and Adrian weren't planning on that, and from the looks of it, you and Adrian were getting into a major battle. She was taking on the stronger pokemon, while you took on the weaker ones. She surely wasn't going to be that much impressed by you winning the battle. Now if you handle it well, then surely, she will be slightly impressed, but lets not get carried away. To you, those two pokemon will be hard to defeat with your pokemon, but to Adrian, they would be presumably just as hard, and if not, harder. Why? Because, they were electric pokemon, and the Skarmory is part flying type. What does that have to do with anything? Well first of all, you should notice that Skarmory is a bird pokemon, and Adrian's Mankey is a fighting pokemon, and both often use physical attacks. Now physical attacks weren't something people should really want to do on electric pokemon. Why is that? Because, the pokemon may end up getting them shocked in the end! Something else may even happen as well. Enough of my endless rambling though, and on with the battle! Your Rattata speeded off in a dash at the Electrike, while Solrock sat behind it, hardening its outsides, as it became even stronger in its defenses, and grew a lustorous coat, that shined in the sunlight as if Solrock were the sun itself. Looking at Rattata, the two dog pokemon were amazed at it's speed, and it crashed into the smaller Electrike. The smaller one had retaliated at the exact moment with a Tackle, though Rattata's Quick Attack was stronger, and deflected the Tackle mostly in the end. Rattata wasn't feeling so good though, and his muscles stiffened up. The stronger Electrike took no pause, and hurried up to get a Tackle in on the Rattata, as he was sent flying back in your direction. Rattata struggled to get back up, as his muscles kept stiffening, but he was standing up still in the end, barely. Solrock saw this, and knew exactly what it was. Rattata had been Paralyzed, and so early in the battle! Things were looking tough, and they could get tougher if you didn't do something! The situation could be easily turned around, and Solrock proved that it was determined to turn the situation around, as Solrock started to harness it's psychic energy, aiming it in a Confusion attack. The wave came, and smacked straight into the already damaged smaller Electrike. The smaller Electrike struggled to stand up, and when he planned to attack Solrock ignorantly with a Tackle, he accidentally smacked straight into the female Electrike, whom yelled at him. It seems as if the female Electrike was now angered at the boy Electrike, yelling at him to watch where he was going. He wasn't confused, but rather, that Confusion had thrown his vision off for a moment, and made him smack into his partner by accident. Regardless, this turn didn't start out so well for Rattata, but not all battles start out well. Its how they finish that shows a trainer and their pokemon's true colors. Up on Adrian's side, she yelled, saying, "Ew, I hate the name 'A' even more, but I guess you can call me that for now..." She then commanded her Skarmory, telling Skarmory to hit the Zangoose with a Sand-Attack, and to follow it up with a Peck. The metallic bird nodded, and kicked up sand furiously, using both his feet and wings to flap up sand, as it got into the Zangoose's eyes. The Zangoose shielded his eyes, as he quickly shot them open, using a Leer attack on the Skarmory. The Skarmory, whom wasn't afraid of the Leer, came rushing in with his Peck attack. Something happened though, Zangoose quickly speeded at Skarmory, dealing damage with its speedily powerful Quick Attack! The clashing sound of metal was crazy, and it sounded like two samurai's were fighting. Zangoose had weakened the defense of the Skarmory before however, so the power of Quick Attack was reduced while being raised. What about Peck? It hit too! The Peck skinned off some of Zangoose's fur, and left a slight cut, which angered the Zangoose severly. He was burning up, ready to take out the trainer and her pokemon! Well, with the first turn of the battle being over, all I can say is, good luck, my friend! As Rattata raced off to initiate the start of the battle, Archie glanced over at Adrian and her battle. It was going to be hard having his own battle, while watching another but he didn’t care. At any moment that Adrian said she needed his help, Archie was prepared to drop his battle and help Adrian at any cost. Archie turned back to watch the rest of the round unfold while turned to watch Adrian’s as well every few seconds. As the first round ended Archie found himself doing very well except for Rattata being paralyzed. However with every disadvantage comes an advantage if you look hard enough. You see one of Rattata's abilities is guts. This meant now that Rattata was paralyzed, his attack would increase. "Rattata, hang in there. That was my fault, your doing great though!" Archie called out. Archie knew that Rattata wasn’t going to give up. They might have been small Pokémon but they sure had determination. "Adrian you doing ok?" Archie called over to his friend. He already knew what her reaction would be. He figured something along the lines of "I’m fine. Worry about yourself. I can handle myself just fine thank you!". Archie smiled and began to laugh a little before zoning back into his own battle. Despite being paralyzed, Archie decided that he was going to try something different with Rattata. He was going to try and teach him a move. He knew that with the paralyzing, it was going to be even harder and the only 50% chance of even being able to move was going to make it extremely hard, but that also lead to a new determination in the small Pokémon. He knew he could do it. That and having a Solrock as a partner give you a lot more confidence knowing that if you mess up, its there to have your back. "Alright Rattata, we are going to try and learn bite," Archie called. "First ready yourself. Drop everything else around and just think about you and electrike. You are going to attack the small one again. Next start off like your using Quick Attack. This will help you get up close to electrike without it anticipating the move. One you are close instead of crashing into the Pokémon, you just open up your mouth and bite it!" Archie shouted. The move couldn't be that hard right? It had to be in Rattata's nature to know how to bite something, Archie figured that it was just going to be the precision and power he was going to have to get down to master the move. "Solrock," Archie said turning to his other Pokémon that was just floating there waiting for its attacks. "Confusion worked great last time. Let’s try it again alright. Also, watch over Rattata, don’t let it get hurt too much and cover it if it does manage to go in for the attack," Archie said. |

Trying to teach a move in the middle of a battle, even with suitable appendages, wasn’t really advised, you know. However, since you had already given commands and so on … move-tutoring is officially taking place right now. Rattata, having locked his eyes on the ‘smaller’ Electrike, gave a little nod to you, but he was slightly worried. Learning a new move meant that he was slightly more vulnerable to attacks – there needed to be no room for error, or he would be easily deflected, or worse, taken advantage of by the targeted Pokémon. Thankfully, Bite was just a couple more levels away, so it wasn’t going to be too hard an attack to pick up … hopefully. Like you had ordered, the little rat Pokémon tried his best to clear his mind, but found it rather impossible. On one hand, he was trying to imagine how Bite looked like, but on the other, you were asking him to plan out his attack route! Sure, time was of the essence in a battle like this, but … oh well. Narrowing his eyes, Rattata pawed at the ground, and with a snap of the fingers, he was off! Using his Quick Attack-like speed, your Pokémon dashed madly at the smaller Electrike, frantically reminding himself to halt and bite once he got close enough. At the same moment, the targeted Electrike was speeding towards Rattata, head lowered. Now, with speed from the other party, Rattata was forced to slam on the brakes a little earlier than intended, leaving him to thrust forwards with his eyes wide open. Oh crap … he needed to bite on something, right? What did he need to bite again? As he thought, Rattata decided to just rely on his instincts, and chomp on Electrike’s ear. Well, biting was natural to a Rattata, so the biting part didn’t really pose a problem to your Pokémon – but there was something lacking about the attack. Perhaps it was the sheer intention to inflict pain on others, much like the Dark-type requires? Or perhaps it was the personality of your Pokémon: your Rattata enjoyed and valued peace over fighting; even though he was a traded Pokémon, his personality still stays. Frenzied by the sudden assault to his ears, the smaller canine started to flail and yelp out of pain. He was surprised by something latching onto his ear, and it wasn’t even thinking of letting go! What a predicament for the little electric Pokémon … at a complete loss as to what to do, he decided to go for the easier way out, and started to roll on the ground to get Rattata off him. Naturally, the purple-furred rat didn’t want to be squished, so he hurriedly let go and returned to your side, casually spitting out some fur as he made his way back, the tingling sensation within his legs intensifying. Solrock started to focus its expressionless eyes upon the older, more experienced Electrike, a pink hue overtaking its rock-solid body. Skipping the taunts like it had used upon Greenhorn, the sun-shaped Pokémon merely focused all its psychic energies into the mind of the Electrike, forcing them into her mind without stopping. Yelping, the green-colored Pokémon’s knees buckled, causing her to collapse unto the ground, but she got up almost at once, smirking at Solrock, as if taunting it to ‘bring it on’. Did this Electrike just have an ace up her sleeve? Well … maybe not. You’ll just have to wait and see. “Me?” Adrian challenged you, frowning, “Of course I’m doing fine. You’d expect no less from me, Archie.” Folding her arms, she watched on as her Skarmory lunged for the Zangoose with his mighty steel body. “Sergeant, Peck!” she ordered. True to his orders, Sergeant’s beak shone with a glow as it met with white fur and flesh. The piercing of his beak into the ferret Pokémon’s flesh drew blood, tainting the beautiful fur of the Zangoose a deep hue of red. Eyes narrowed in determination, Sergeant ruthlessly plunged his beak deeper into the arm of the Zangoose, not even flinching as a powerful blow from the Zangoose’s claw connected with his steel body. Adrian really knew what she was doing when she trained her Pokémon, as seen by this display. “Sergeant, hold on!” came Adrian’s sharp comment from the sidelines. The Skarmory spared a glance towards his Trainer, before connecting with the golden yellow of his adversary. The Zangoose, managing to endure the sheer pain in his arm, continued to formulate a plan to get the better of the steel bird. A smirk carved itself unto Adrian’s face as she looked at your attempt to teach Rattata the attack Bite. “You’re doing it wrong,” she pointed out, but without a further statement, she turned back to her own fight. Archie watched very carefully as Rattata started its attempt to learn Bite. Archie at first thought that it wouldn't be too hard seeing how Rattata were basically made to bite things. Archie however, was soon about to find out that teaching a Pokémon a move is always going to be hard, no matter what attack it is. Who knows though, maybe he will get lucky with this one? As Rattata flew through the air and chomped down on the Elecktrike's ear, Archie began to feel successful. Maybe it was easy? Archie's mood soon changed though after he found that it didn't do much damage. He must have just spent too much time trying to tell Rattata how to do the attack; he didn't focus enough on ho to inflict the pain of the attack. Oh well, at least he had something to start with now. Archie began to laugh as he watched Rattata hang onto Electrikes ear. He still had a lot to learn about his new friend Rattata. He was used to the Rattata that were vengeful and liked to battle. This Rattata was different though. It was playful and peaceful, something Archie had never thought to witness in such a mean Pokémon. This made Archie smile. His Rattata was unique, and he respected that. "Great job buddy, that was great for you first time!" Archie shouted out to Rattata as it returned to his side. Archie always was one to believe that confidence meant a lot when it came to trying something new. In the mean time, Solrock had hit the other Electrike with his Confusion. "You too Solrock! Man you guys are doing awesome!" Archie shouted. Beginning to feel like he was acting way too soft, he turned and faced Adrian. Adrian had given close to the same response as Archie had figured when he asked her if she was doing fine. He watched a bit as her battle was underway. The sheer power and elegance of Skarmory made Archie begin to zone out. What he could do with such a powerful Pokémon. Archie zoned back into reality however when he heard the words, "Your doing it wrong" come from Adrian’s mouth. Doing it wrong? How was he teaching Rattata wrong? What exactly was wrong about it? "Doing it wrong? Ok Adrian. How do you suggest I teach it the right way?" Archie said to his partner before turning back to his own battle. Archie looked down at Rattata and then up at Solrock. "Ok guys you ready? Rattata, you start with using Focus to up your attack. It will help you unleash more damage when trying your bite attack. Now I want you to do it the same way. This time though, when you chomp your teeth down, I want you to chomp down with all your force and at the same time unshackle all of your anger into that bite. I know you can do this buddy, you just have to want it and believe you can do it," Archie said as he smiled down at his Rattata who looked as harmless as a fly. Archie knew that there had to be some kind of anger building up deep down within Rattata, he just had to find a way to release it within the bite attack. Archie twisted around and looked up at Solrock. "Alright you ready? Let try something a little different this time what do you say?" Archie said with a sly grin appearing across his face. "While Rattata is focusing its attack, I want you to glare at the larger Electrike. This should help lower his defense a little, setting you up for your attack (Staredown). After that, I want you to jump upon her with a Belly Flop. You weigh a lot more than her, so it should do some decent amount of damage," Archie finished. his strategy this turn seemed to be pretty good one in his mind, he just hoped it worked out the way he planned. "Alright guys, whenever your ready!" Archie shouted initiating his attacks for the next round. Edited by Grimer3739, Jul 5 2009, 10:32 PM.

Adrian was going to extend a helpful hand to you and teach you a thing or two about tutoring moves to your Pokémon, but since you had followed your statement up with the tutoring proper, she chose to keep her trap shut. Either way, there was no point being commented on by you about how she was not minding her own business – either way suited her just fine. She turned back to her part of the battle, running her fingers through her shoulder-length hair quietly. “Sergeant, hold on,” she ordered calmly, giving the same order as the last turn. Adrian really seemed like she knew what she was doing, and was in perfect control of the battle. Her eyes watched her Skarmory quietly, before turning to yours, then back to hers. It seemed that she was keeping an eye out for you – if only to keep you alive, sort of. She didn’t need some sort of medical emergency on her hands: who knew what could happen in a battle? Your Pokémon might turn on you the next second unexpectedly! The magnificent steel bird held his posture; his beak plunged deep into the Zangoose’s arm. The ferret couldn’t stop the throbbing of his wounded arm. With a roar, he wrenched himself free, striking at Sergeant violently with his claws, one after the other. It certainly was a magnificent sight to see – two battlers, one untamed yet with a certain grace, the other calm and collected. Having caught off guard for the first time in this battle, Adrian’s Pokémon sustained damage from the strike. As a loud clashing sound came from his metal hide upon impact, Sergeant steadied himself for the next blow, not even flinching from the impending backlash. On your end, you were trying to continue the tutoring of Bite to your Rattata, as well as getting some more attacks in. Before your rat Pokémon could even focus his attack stat, the younger Electrike was already on him – literally. The green-furred Pokémon had Rattata pinned to the ground, where your Pokémon was already snapping in a pitiful attempt to free itself. As Rattata tried to focus his Attack stat for a second time, the Electrike had broke straight into his movements, stopping his chain of movements with a quick bash of the head to his adversary’s jaw. Your Rattata tried to bite with his fangs, but paralysis prevented him from doing so. Well, perhaps you could hope for better luck next time, hmm? Okay, and now – let’s head on over to Solrock’s battle. The sun Pokémon was hovering where it was, completely and still expressionless. Now, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but whatever it was, it was still … going strong? Yeah, that probably was it. Your Solrock was waiting for the Focus from Rattata as a cue, but since the commands was disrupted, that sort of put a wrench into your plans. Since the cue never did come, Solrock was a little off-timing when it decided to use Stare Down. By then, the female Pokémon had somehow dashed away from her current position, and all was left where she originally was, was her shadow. Either way, she was soon spotted by Solrock. Deftly and with cunning precision, it hurled itself towards the Electrike, spiked appendages circling through the air before whirling to a halt. Having stopped itself in the nick of time, Solrock just let itself loose, clouds of dust puffing upwards as it crashed down in a Belly Flop. Its target whimpered under its weight – but managed to wriggle out as Solrock tried to get into a better position (that is, a better one to pin her down with). So … this turn was over. Adrian was doing a little good, but sent a step backwards thanks to the Zangoose’s unexpected motions and strategy; you were doing just fine, but with one of your Pokémon pinned down with both paralysis and a Pokémon, and the other having just lost its ‘prey’ of sorts, you might want to abandon all move-teaching and just get the battle over with. And then … maybe you’ll actually hear your companion out on how to tutor Pokémon moves more effectively, hmm? This round did not work so well for Archie and his Pokémon. Rattata was completely unable to attack and was still pinned down on the ground by the younger Electrike. Solrock had gotten an attack off, but it didn't do as much as Archie had hoped. Adrian on the other hand also looked like her battle wasn't on her side at the moment, but knowing her she'd have it back in no time. Archie glanced over at his Sun Pokémon. He had no time to waste seeing how his little Rattata was being pinned to the ground. The last couple rounds when Solrock used Confusion, it worked very well so Archie figured he would go back to using that strategy. Rattata on the other hand wasn't so easy to choose what to do. She had the basic attacks and other than that she had tackle, quick attack, and tail whip. No much to work with since she was Paralyzed. Whatever Archie would decide to do, he figured that he was going to drop the Bite attack for the time being. "Hey Adrian, how about after we win these battles you can help me teach Rattata bite?" Archie called over to his partner. Archie never liked taking help or advice from people, especially with Adrian being a girl, but he knew the kind of trainer she was and he had no doubt she knew what she was doing. He even figured that they could have some fun doing it and tighten there friendship. Archie examined Adrians battle for about two seconds before remembering Rattata. Quickly he thought up a plan in his head and began barking out orders. "Guys lets go after the younger one first, it seems to be the weakest at the moment," Archie shouted ready to give his attacks. "Solrock start this off by using a Confusion on the younger Electrike. Get it off of Rattata. Rattata, as soon as you see Electrike fly off of you, and are sure that Solrock is done I want you to attack it with a Quick Attack!" Archie called finishing his commands. There wasnt much to his strategy this time and he hoped that it wouldn't hurt him. He needed to hurry though, Rattata needed him. |

"Pokémon" came from "Pocket Monster" - Scary
|
Adrian turned to look at you when you asked about help with teaching your Rattata. She still seemed a bit annoyed with you, but she's a nice person really. After all, it wouldn't take long just to give you some tips and hints on move-teaching. "Perhaps, but only once this battle has finished," she replied, before turning back to keep her eyes on her battle with the Zangoose. Though she was losing HP-wise, the Zangoose was weakened by its bleeding arm, and its accuracy was lower, which would hopefully mean some of its moves would miss its target. "Sergeant, Peck," Adrian commanded, putting her order in the most simple way possible. The Skarmony immediately took a few graceful steps towards the Zangoose, its head poised and ready for the blow. The opponent furiously tried to Strike the great steel bird, but its lowered accuracy made sure not a single blow made contact. Once the Zangoose had temporarily worn itself out, Sergeant went in with Peck, aimed at the chest to deliver a fatal blow. Though the Zangoose had tired itself with its flurry of missing Strikes, it managed to throw itself onto the ground in an ungraceful dodge. Calmly, Sergeant then stepped upon the Zangoose, putting its large weight onto its poor enemy's back. The Zangoose roared in pain as it was pressed against the ground, before managing to leap off and cause Sergeant to lose balance. Taking advantage of the situation, the Zangoose went in with a Scratch, and there was deafening screech as claw met steel. Meanwhile, Solrock used Confusion on the younger Electrike as you had instructed. The beam hit the Pokemon fully, and the impact knocked it off Rattata. Then, your rat used Quick Attack on the sprawling opponent, sending the electric creature sliding across the ground, before freezing in midstep due to its paralyzed state. Solrock then glided across to where the pained Electrike had ended up, and used Tackle, sending the helpless enemy flying. It was now on the verge of fainting, and it was confused. The Electrike attempted to Strike the Solrock once it was near enough, but as often happens when a Pokemon is confused, ended up attacking itself. Now, it had almost fainted, and your Pokemon had both been left unharmed. Suddenly, the other Electrike pounced on top of Rattata, and though it had no moves involving teeth, simply bit your Pokemon's back. At least it didn't go for the throat, which could have proved fatal. Solrock attempted to help with another Confusion, but the Electrike used Thunder Wave just beforehand, paralyzing your other Pokemon as well. So even though you almost knocked out the younger Electrike, your Solrock is now also paralyzed and your Rattata is being bitten. "This is not good," Archie said to himself after watching the Electrike paralyze him. Now what was he going to do? Archie trying to by some time to think about what to do next, decided to turn to check on Adrian. It was crazy how the two seemed to focus on each other more than their own battles. "Hey Adrian, want me to catch one of these Electrike for you? There's no way I need two for myself," Archie said with a small chuckle. He watched for battle for a second, before turning back to his own. Archie started to examine his battle trying to cook up a strategy. Rattata was once again being pinned, but this time by the larger Electrike which was biting him. The smaller Electrike was very weak and also confused, so with the right move, Archie figured he could KO the Pokémon. Solrock, Archie's top gun of his whole team was now paralyzed. However, he knew that with Solrock's psychic powers he could overcome his paralysis. Without anymore delay, Archie began to yell out his orders for the upcoming round. "Solrock, Tackle the female Electrike off of Rattata. Rattata, just like last time as soon as you see it fly off I want you to start a Quick Attack. This time though, attack the smaller one. Keep attack until it’s knocked out," Archie shouted. He knew that if he could just land an attack or two on the smaller Electrike, it would be out and then we would only have to focus on the older one. "Solrock, after you use Tackle, I want you to Harden and use Belly Flop on the female!" |

In My Little White Room Again
|
Adrian’s gaze had departed from her battle for a split second to look over at you –her ginger eyes sparkling from the warm rays that were cast down from the sun that was hanging directly overhead. She withheld her silence for a few moments, but then with a delighted grin she called out to you in response to your question: “That would be great!” With a new motivation pumping through her veins, Adrian returned her focus to her battle – and you to yours. Perhaps offering up a token such as one of those small green tykes that you were up against was something that could improve your relation ship with the young redheaded women? Like say –patch up the holes that you had created by calling her by names that were distasteful in her ears? Adrian did seem pretty upset earlier when she was called “Addie”, and even more unhappy when you tried out the name “A”. Anyways, lets move on to the next round of you and Adrian’s battles: With a hollow sounding grunt, Solrock began his (and yes I will be referring to your Solrock as a “he” –just trying to make my life a little easier) assault on the Elecrike that had your squirming cohort pinned. Luckily for you however, he didn’t seem to be slowed by the paralysis very much as of yet –but keep in mind that he may be unable to move in the future. The Meteorite Pokemon hovered over to the female canine like menace and hurled his rocky body into her – causing her to be thrown off of her opponent. The jade colored mutt fell to the ground with a thud, but she managed to recover –only to be smacked down once again by your partner. But before we get to the second part of Solrock’s beat down on Electrike –let’s move our focus to your now free Rattata. The small rodent sped towards the smaller Electrike –who was looking about absent mindlessly due to the effect of your Solrock’s previous attack. He was completely unaware of the approaching threat, and so your companion managed to collide into him without any trouble. Despite being unaware of actually being attacked, the hound did feel the pain –for he released an aching howl, and fell towards the ground –unable to move, K.O.ed. Now back to the Solrock and his larger opponent… After colliding with his female adversary earlier, he immediately went into phase two of your attack strategy: hardening the surface of his body and then attempting to perform Body Slam. His grungy orange bodies seemed to roughen up, upping his defense stats, and then he drifted over to Electrike – though slower than before…seems as if the paralysis is starting to kick in. The creature released another void like mumble and threw his body down towards his opponent –who immediately darted to the side with the amazing speed that seemed to be bestowed upon her kind…which caused Solrock to slam into the ground once more. The Electrike growled in frustration and lunged at slowed Solrock with a Tackle, causing him to be thrown backwards… Anyway that’s one down and now only one to go. And if you were to cast your eyes off to the side so that you could see Adrian, you would see that she was having a stalemate with her menacing opponent. The Zangoose lunged towards Adrian’s Skarmory with a Quick Attack and then began to rip at his metallic skin with his sharp dark claws –producing the eerie, high and dull pitched sounds sound of sharp claws against a block of steel. The bird called out its name in a high shriek and responded to the assault with his trainer commands: another series of Peck attacks. The birds silver beak imbedded itself into the flesh of the Mongoose like fiend numerous of times –drawing forth more and more blood each time. The Zangoose winced at the pain, and then quickly retreated to his side of the field once again. Despite this deadlock though, Adrian –arms crossed in front of her- still seemed pretty confident with her companion. But now…what shall be your next move?

Archie smiled as Adrian seemed to be a lot happier now that he offered her one of the small dog things. Archie didn't care, if would help there friendly relationship, than who cares what the price is. "Alright, you want the young male? Or, the older female?" Archie asked now starting to laugh a little. His laugh was quickly quietly however, when he realized that he was still in the middle of a raging battle. As Archie carefully watch the battle progress, his smile began to widen more and more. The plan had gone pretty well for him, and now he found himself at a two-on-one advantage. The Smaller Electrike was now out of commission, leaving just the older one to fend for herself. "This one's rip for the catching!" Archie yelled back at Adrian. He turned to watch for battle for a moment, before turning back to his trying to develop a plan. Both his Pokémon were paralyzed which put him a disadvantage, but so far throughout the battle his Pokémon had worked through the static pain pretty well. He tried to calculate about how strong Electrike was, trying to figure out just how much damage he would need to do. If Solrock could use Confusion, which would leave Electrike in pretty bad condition and then maybe Rattata could finish her off. "Alright than it’s settled!" Archie blurted out. "Solrock, you use a Confusion. I know you can work through the paralysis, come on buddy I need you. As for you Rattata, Focus your Attack. Next stay using your Quick Attack, they've been working great. You can do it too I have faith in both of you," Archie calmly spoke. |

The redhead beauty that was Adrian turned her gaze to you once more -- and it seemed to be sparkling. Her eyes showed no trace of the venomous daggers they had been shooting into your own previously, but rather had softened. Her gaze was even -- dare I say it -- rather warm. Perhaps she was warming up to you. There was certainly a glimpse of something within those emerald depths, but what I was, I wouldn't be able to tell you... perhaps respect? Admiration even? Or maybe... a crush?! Even her voice, usually steely hard with resolve and stern with determination, seemed to be softer, as she spoke: "I'd like the female, of course; she's the stronger one! And it looks like you've got a bit of work to do with her... Hurry it up, wouldja? If you haven't noticed, I've got my own things to deal with over here!" Now there was the Adrian we all knew and loved -- harsh and straight to the point. But hey, at least she accepted your offer! And she was certainly right about one thing -- she had one helluva battle on her hands. Zangoose and Skarmory were locked in a confrontation so dangerous, so intense -- you could almost feel the rigidity of their taut bodies radiating in waves and ripples. Neither Pokemon was backing down any time soon, but Skarmory did appear to have the upper hand in terms of both energy and HP. Zangoose's glare wavered as it flinched to clutch its bleeding arm; a wound that big was surely to wind it a bit, even if Skarmory's incredibly tough steel beak had only just grazed it. "Okay then Sergeant, let's finish this clown! Use Leer to weaken its defenses, then take it down with a final Peck!" The Steel Bird's glare into the Mongoose Pokemon's eyes quite nearly immobilized it, and Skarmory swooped forward to Peck it while it was down. Adrian's battle was over just as quickly as it had begun; the rapid Pecks, combined with Zangoose's already existing wounds and lowered defense, had proved too much for the mortal enemy of snake-type Pokemon everywhere. Sergeant stood proudly over its fallen victim, and took to the skies with a screech declaring victory as Adrian tossed one of her own empty Pokeballs, which smacked against the knocked-out beast and drew it with the customary crimson beam into the mysterious depths of the capture device. It shook once, twice, thrice: and Adrian had caught the formidable foe. However, this is your journey, let's see how your battle was going, right? The battle was nearing its close. Solrock's powerful telepathic mind knew your commands even before you had finished uttering them, and its mind had no trouble using Confusion; Paralysis generally only affected physical attacks, and the mental disturbance that assaulted Elektrike's mind need no motor skills. The barrage of sensory input, combined with Rattata managing to fight off paralysis on its own for a Focused Quick Attack and -- score!! Elektrike succumbed to the bombardment of your team's volley. Your faith in your team paid off, and now you could catch both the Elektrike: one for yourself, one for your Solrock received 6.7 !Solrock Leveled Up to Level 7 with 5.7 left over!Rattata received 10 !Rattata Leveled Up to Level 6 with 1 left over!Adrian's Skarmory received 10 !Adrian's Skarmory Leveled Up to Level 9 with 2 left over!Zangoose received 5 !Adrian caught Zangoose! {{OOC: Profile edited. Archie turned and flashed a smile at Adrian as her words "Hurry up woudja" poured through his brain. Not long after, did her Skarmory deliver the final blow to Zangoose, and she threw the pokeball and captured the Pokémon. Now it was Archie's turn. Archie turned back to his battle and watched his attacks unfold. First for Archie's side was Solrock whose psychic mind was able to ignore the paralysis and deliver a nice Confusion to the Electrike which still stood. Next was Rattata's quick attack, which gave Electrike the final blow of the battle, making it faint. "Alright!" Archie shouted out to his Pokémon. He knew that he was probably looking pretty weak to Adrian right now, but he couldn't help to congratulate his Pokémon after every battle. In Archie's eyes, their friendship was just as important as the power of their attacks. "Now let me get you guys to the Pokémon Center so I can cure your paralysis," Archie said pulling the two POKéMONs pokeballs out of his bag. Without anymore of wasting Adrian's time, he tossed two empty pokeballs at the fainted Electrikes. He would give the girl to Adrian and keep the boy. Actually, Electrike wasn't one of his favorite Pokémon, so he would probably try to trade it off. "Well, thats about it," Archie said to Adrian as his pokeballs flew through the air. "By the way, have you seen any Tentacool around here? I really wouldn't mind catching one," Archie said smiling at Adrian. After all, Tentacool was one of his all time favorites. Plus those dreams he kept having of him and a Tentacool on some place called Tohea sure made him want one. Maybe then he could get to the bottom of these dreams. Uno, Dos, Tres! And the Electrike were caught. The information, added to your Pokedex, if you even cared the slightest bit. Even so, their information was there. They were two Electrike, ripe for the picking. They were also perfect for breeding, seeing how one was a boy and the other was a girl. If you paid any attention in health class, you would find out what happens when a male and female of the same species get together in heat. Though, these Electrike were much too young to be even thinking about something like that. For now, at least. Their Stats Level 5Moves: Tackle, Thunderwave Level 3Moves: Tackle They were quite mediocre in strength however, if trained well, they can prove to be very great Pokemon in your journey. Though, apparently, it appears that you would rather trade your Pokemon than keep them. That'd figure. A set of Electrike would also make a great trade or bargain in some cases. Anyhow, moving along to the Pokemon Center. As Archie and Adrian walked down to the Pokemon Center, Archie asked his good friend a question. He asked him about the Pokemon around Millenia Town, specifically, the Pokemon that were indigenous to this said area. "Tentacool? In Millenia Town?" he asked rhetorically. "Are you serious? This place is loaded with water-types. I'm sure if we look around the beach we can some. You might need a fishing rod, first though." A Fishing Rod? Those were quite rare to find and a decent rod at that was even rarer. Fortunately, there was a place known as Sea-Side services that offer fishing goods, so Archie was in the safe zone for now. Even so, the items there weren't cheap. They were rather pricey, which wasn't obvious if you've ever been shopping around Alternia. Anyhow, the items there cost quite a bundle, and if you want some high quality stuff, it'd cost even more. However, there was always the method of stealing some fishing rods as well but, then, you'd be on the run from the cops. What will Archie do? OOC: Correct me or the next Ref if I'm wrong about the moves. They might have used different moves in previous Ref's. I can't really tell. I looked over them but I might be wrong. I'm not very good at these calculations. |

[Everything looks ok. Only thing is that Adrian is a girl not a guy lol, but not a big deal.] Archie watched as the pokeballs flew through the air and landed on the Electrike sucking both of them in. Both catches were successful, as Archie had planned and he walked over to pick up the two pokeballs. "For a first catch that was pretty easy," Archie said smiling over at Adrian trying to act like a tough guy in front of his cute girl partner. If all went well, by the time they grew a few levels, maybe the two could breed them. It might sound like a bad way to gain money, but at least selling Pokémon eggs wasn't like selling babies. At least it wasn't to Archie. As promised, Archie handed over the pokeball of the older female Electrike. "Here she is," he said with a wide smile. There was nothing better than trying to suck up with a Pokémon. And Archie had the feeling it was going to work. "So, your still going to teach me the correct way for bite right?" Archie said as he gave her the pokeball. "It would really help me and Rattata. After we heal of course," Archie said hoping that he didn't sound like a jerk. Adrian’s sarcastic tone of voice came out when she answered Archie's previous question about Tentacool. His tone however soon softened and went a bit depressed when she told him about how he would need a fishing pole. Archie looked down in his bag and a frown started to find its way upon his face. Not only did he only have $200, but he also only had 1 pokeball left. Of course, he could always steal some items. He of course had nothing wrong with trying to steal a pole and maybe some pokeballs, but he was afraid of what Adrian would think. Not only could she quit journeying with him, but that Skarmory of hers was pretty tough looking. So now he had a decision. "I don’t have enough money for a pole, unless we stole one," Archie laughed trying to sound sarcastic and trick the red head into saying if she's mind or not. Archie was a tricky kid, maybe he did belong with Team Rocket. The only problem is that he hadn't seen one TR Member the whole time on his journey in Alternia. "Come on, lets heal our Pokémon," Archie said to Adrian. |

King Empoleon the Great!

Awww. Love sometimes has you do things you never would, or even act a certain way just to please that person. Ok, maybe your not in love or maybe you are, the fact is that this girl has your attention. But when you spend so much time around someone, they're bound to find out your inner secrets and demons. Would Adrian still like you when she did? Well anyways.... what was the topic again?... Oh right! Healing your pokemon! :$ Please dont judge me. Let's get back to that. The two of set out, seeking the pokemon center for its services. Being not too far off, the red rooftop appeared within minutes. The doors to the health center constantly swung open from the waves of trainers going in and out. Some having smiles on their faces as they headed out for Route 4. Now, it was you guys next to heal your pokemon. The nurse at the front desk greeted you with a smile as she brought a tray to hold your pokeballs. Once they were set, she assured you their safety and headed to the back room marked "Medical Room". After that, there's nothing left to do but sit and wait. Maybe this was a chance to spark some conversation between the two of you? You guys had nothing better to do anyways. Though, that would have to wait, for within seconds, the doors to the center swung open and in came two grunts with rifles in hand. "Ok, I want everybody to drop to the floor and give us all the cash you got! And don't try to be brave. We know your precious little pokemon are in the back getting medical care. Now hand us the cash!" The crowd all gasped and panicked, as some reached into their pockets to do just as ordered, and others, too horror struck to act, dropped to the ground and stayed there. Now could have been a good time for you to be the hero, but Nurse joy was already on the move. "You two better drop your weapons! I sent the signal to the police station, so they should be here within seconds!" "You dirty little..." the first grunt advanced forward but was pulled by the second. "Come on Butch! No time to waste! The task is done, so let's go!" The task is done? But they hadn't received the money like they planned. O well, the crooks turned and hightailed it out the center, leaving the doors still open for you to see a patrol car zip up to the driveway. Some man in a brown investigator coat came into the poke center with a James Bond type of profile. He looked around as he inspected the scenery, hoping to get a clue as to who these burglars might be. "I'm so glad your here officer." Nurse joy came from behind the counter, "But it seems the crooks weren't really after the money the whole time." The private investigator peered up from his spectacles, a quizzical look etched on his face. "Oh? Is that so? What makes you say that?" He remarked, getting up to greet the Nurse. She looked off to the side in embarrassment. "Well you see.... once we heard there were burglars, we left the medical rooms and locked them so as to protect the sick pokemon, but it seems......" she placed her arms behind her back, swaying slightly as to keep from crying on the spot. "..it seems they had planned this whole thing. Once the two left, we went in to check on the pokemon... and they were all gone!" What?! Did she really mean that? Did those guys really run off with all of your pokemon? It seems that way, but what do you have to say about it? |
