Name: Hikkaku ‘Kena’ Kenaki
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Profession: Pokemon Trainer :: Errand Girl :: Pain in the Ass

Appearance: A bit on the petite side, Kena stands at just under five foot, weighing not even a full one-hundred pounds; the scale claims her to be ninety-seven. Pale flesh coats the child, and remains as such, no matter how desperately she tries to get some sort of tan. Her hair is the lightest shade of blonde, almost better described as white, but still holding enough golden hue to not be declared unnatural. The female’s optics are a vibrant shade of jade, appearing almost to glow at times from the bright pigment.

A simple tee keeps the child’s top-half decent, colored a pastel violet, with the sleeves being a much darker shade of amethyst. Long shorts keep her cool and comfy, composed of a washed out, azure denim. Her socks match her shirt; light violet, with the toes and heel the same dark shade of purple. Her shoes are black with white laces, with small, white spiral designs on the heels. A slight platform is built into the shoe, adding a miniscule amount of height to her short figure… but in her mind, every bit helps.

Personality: Despite tragedy in her past, Kena keeps her chin up, trying to look on the bright side of life, and forward to a better future. Despite lack of social interaction in her early childhood, the girl tries her best to be friendly, but often comes off as a bit awkward, not sure of the right things to say. Despite good intentions, lack of people skills results in most of her comments being quite blunt. This couples ‘well’ with her sarcasm. She has a tendency to be a bit of a brat, but as is the norm for this problem, such antics are usually the child’s way of crying out for attention.

She has a short temper; quick to flare up at even the slightest insult. Sadly, she also has a tendency to act before thinking things over, even more so in a state of hot-headed rage. This doesn’t mean the girl is incapable of rational thought when upset… just that the more violent and destructive route become appealing.

Like most young children, she's very energetic, often becoming restless and fidgety if forced to remain still for so long. She has a tendency to speak with her hands, and the motions can get quite extravagant if she really gets into what she's talking about.

History: Growing up was easy for the girl. Born and raised in Millenia town, there was no shortage of entertainment, be it things like movies and games, or other children to interact with. Despite there being ‘no shortage’ of… basically anything in their home town, Kena’s parents came to the decision that she would be home schooled. Some accused them of being selfish, but their family was a busy one. Kena’s mother was often busy in the market, not with shopping, but with selling. Her father – a respected technician in the town, worked from dawn till dusk on the latest ‘technological breakthrough.’ Needless to say, she didn’t care much at the time. The child’s feeling’s aside, her parents felt it would be best to have someone around the house to keep it tidy, and care for the family pet: a rather lazy Mudkip by the name of Skip. Kenaki never really understood why he needed to be taken care of. All he did was sleep all day.

As she wasted her days away studying and prodding the comatose Mudkip with the tip of her pencil, other children her age – nine at the time – were outside playing, or enjoying the company of others as they studied in public school. It wasn’t that Kena disliked the study sessions her family had assigned her… but truth be told, she really had no friends aside from Skip, and his affection only lasted as long as he was awake… or when she had food. The only time she was able to socialize and be around kids her age was when her mother sent her out of errands. Due to having little social skills due to seclusion, these moments were often awkward at best, as well as short lived. Sadly, the girl often came home in a more sour mood than she left in.

Time passed, and Kena watched it do such… but not with shielded eyes. Many days went by where countless hours were spent simply staring out the window, not out of utter boredom, but in observance. Millenia Town, after all, was not just a simple place filled with ordinary people. It was littered with pokemon, and more importantly, their trainers. While her original dream had been to become a performer of sorts, the idea of fame through pokemon suddenly became very appealing. Perhaps it was the thought of all the people she’d meet, and all the wonderful things she’d get to see. The thoughts brought many smiles to the otherwise solemn face. Surely her parents would love the idea!

Sadly… they didn’t. Although, her father was much more supportive than her mother. One side saw it as an educational journey that would better her as a person. The other saw it as a waste of time and money, which could be better spent pursuing an education that worked. Trying to be a good example, they never bickered in front of their child… but at night, she heard everything. She threw her pillow over her head, trying to block out the sounds of their fighting. Sometimes, Kena was lucky, and the emotions cooled, allowing her to drift into slumber in quiet. Other times, it continued long into the night, leaving the youth to cry herself to sleep.

The fighting ended in the form of a divorce. Kena remained with her mother, while her father moved to Nogou. She didn’t utter a word about the event, and never once spoke her feelings towards it. Perhaps it was because, inside, Kenaki was afraid. She blamed herself for the divorce of a once happy coupled, and feared the voicing such feelings would result in her mother agreeing with her… and that was guilt that no child should be forced to carry. Her feelings were kept inside, left to fester and grow inside her.

Having just become a teenager, her mother finally agreed to allow her daughter to leave home on one condition: that she continue her studies. Reluctant, but not willing to let her dreams slip away, Kena agreed.

Starting Pokemon: Trapinch (M)
Nickname: Tonbo
Differences: The insectoid creature doesn’t seem much different from the standard Trapinch, and requires close inspection to note such a detail. The eyes of the Pokemon, typically some shade of green, are actually lilac – the only trait that made the ‘icky bug’ tolerable in Kena’s eyes when she first received him. As well, the Trapinch is quite young, and still seems to be adjusting to his body. This often results in comical scenes of the pokemon toppling forward due to being top-heavy.

Starting Town: Millenia Town
Poketech Color: Purple
Other: A blue backpack carries the traveling essentials: food, water, a map, clothing, and other such things. As well, her schoolbooks managed to make their way inside, so that she could study and complete assignments, mailing them back home whenever the opportunity arises.
