Catching Pokemon

Alright, so the current catch system shows the chances of capturing Pokemon. But I can assume those chances are only based on full health. It doesn't show how level, lowered health, etc. affect it at all. Is there a system? And are fainted Pokemon a guaranteed capture?

Fainted & when it's at 0 energy are an almost guaranteed catch. There really isn't a 'guaranteed' catch, a mod could always be evil >>;;

Alright thanks Sora. So is catching all at ref's discretion? Because I don't ever remember seeing a system in place for how lowered health affects the catching rates.

I think those catch rates are full health, yeah. And then you can assume that half health would be double the rate, etc. etc. Of course like Sora said, you can never be GUARANTEED a catch. A mod can indeed always be evil.

i thought that a pokemon couldn't be captured unless it had under 25% health at least

It's more so, you don't get experience above 25% health. That way, you wouldn't want to catch it with more than 25% remaining.

Which would help you capture it, if you got it below 25%. So it's a win win situation for all. Ref doesn't have to waste a post saying you failed because the Pokemon was still too strong, you're not wasting a post trying to capture it, you get some experience, it's all good. XD
