Bite?

Straight from the Attack Descriptions thread.
Quote:

Strike
Power: D - :physical
Desc: The user attacks with a natural weapon.. appendage, claws, teeth, etc.

Some stuff from google definitions. There's more, but copying and pasting it all would take too much room.

Quote:

deliver a sharp blow, as with the hand, fist, or weapon; "The teacher struck the child"; "the opponent refused to strike"; "The boxer struck the attacker dead"
affect: have an emotional or cognitive impact upon; "This child impressed me as unusually mature"; "This behavior struck me as odd"
hit: hit against; come into sudden contact with; "The car hit a tree"; "He struck the table with his elbow"

It particular, pay attention to the second example in the first definition. "Strike" seems to have almost the same meaning as "attack". So, it seems to me that "strike" might have biting covered.

Strike is the catch-all for any basic attack your body can do. Whether thats punching, kicking, tackling, or biting. Its the untrained, basic instinct attack. Bite requires Dark energy. My original Propsal had several more moves in it, (Chew = Normal type Bite etc..), but those were mostly summarized into Strike.

Although Strike is the same power as Tackle and other basic moves, don't overestimate it. A trained Tackle or Pound is going to overcome Strike, on equal playing ground (Which rarely happens :P. Even Level 5 Charmander and Level 5 Pidgey are on different Power levels).

The GAL was dumbed down when it came into Alternia, but it also gained a very useful Focus. Focus lets you get +1 in any Stat, Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense or Speed, and you keep that bonus for 2 turns. Its not as good as real moves, its not supposed to be. But, not everyone has every Stat Up Move anyway which makes this come in handy.

Belly Flop - User pounces on target with the full weight of their bodies.
{Every Pokemon Damage by weight}
Intimidate - User uses natural noises/motions to frightens the opponent from attacking with full strength.
{Every Pokemon}
Focus - Raises one stat by +1 for 2 turns.
(Every Pokemon}
Strike - Uses natural weapons (appendages, or other weapons) to attack a target.
{Every Pokemon}
Staredown - User glares at the target in order to temporarily weaken their defenses.
{Every Pokemon}
Flap - Using wings or wing-like appendages, one calls up a gust of wind to attack the target.
{Every Pokemon. If they lack wings then they just fail, but they can still use w/out the gust like affect.}

And while you could argue that Flap isn't usable by everyone, it's necessary in that pokemon with wings often have a long time before they pick up a flying move, and it's natural that they would be able to do something with those wings of theirs. A lower extension of Bite, however, is NOT necessary, in that the moves necessary to deal damage with whatever you may choose are already there.
