The Greatest Thief of All
|
The shopkeeper, a middle aged man sporting a happy beard and a full, healthy belly, handed you your Pokeballs as you handed over the cash-o-la. You were clearly ready to progress forward, moving on with your life and your journey after an all too eventful "first day." Perhaps you'd like to go through a little leisure trip to the forest, maybe head up to Nogou Village? Well, you'd certainly be headed to the forest, but don't count on it being too leisurely - though you'll definitely be glad you went. As you left the Pokemart, the heart of the city surrounded you. Trainers and businessmen and children and housewives and police officers and coordinators and nurses and whole bunches of other people swarmed the streets of Millenia Town, going about their daily lives without worry or strife. It was truly a place bustling with life, a nearly overwhelming sense of joy. One man in particular seemed to be drawing the anger and annoyance of everyone around him. Dressed in the traditional garb of a Pokemon Ranger - protectors of wild Pokemon and their natural habitats from those who would like to poach and kill - was a man riding down the street... on top a massive Tauros. Needless to say, the bull's presence was not appreciated among the men and women trying to go about their daily lives without worry or strife, but the Ranger did not seem to care. Riding down to the Pokemart, the Ranger grew closer before dismounting from his Tauros, taking a step off the saddle and pulling up a few feet from you. Smiling softly, the man tipped his hat before disappearing into the market, his Tauros snorting in disgruntlement but staying still. Just as quickly as he went in, the Pokemon Ranger soon returned, a handful of potions in his hands. Slipping them into the Tauros's saddle, he seemed to be ready to take off yet again. But, a hint. Turning toward you once more, the Ranger spoke. "Say, kiddo. How'd you like to help out the Pokemon Rangers Corps? Normally I wouldn't ask this of a civilian, but unfortunately one of our patrollers has become ill and we really need someone to cover for him." He smiled, seemingly ready to drop the ball. "That is, if you can beat me in a quick battle. How about it?" With a quick ruffle into the Tauros's saddle once more, he tossed a Pokeball, revealing with a flash of light your opponent: A Shroomish! Would you take on this challenge and help out the Ranger? Life was definitely different for Brolis throughout his day here. He smiled at the man and just watched the large Tauros in an effort to keep himself busy. As the ranger returned, and asked for him to help out with the Ranger Corps., Brolis was quick on the uptake. "Oh! Of course I would! Protecting Pokemon is something that would be fun, and worthwhile!" he said, smiling. He then nodded to the thought of a battle. Brolis needed a good battle, and suddenly with a flash of light, out came his opponent. A little green Shroomish. Brolis almost found this little vegetable Pokemon rather cute, almost too innocent to fight. But a deal was a deal. If Brolis could defeat this Pokemon in a battle, than he would be able to go about his time helping this Ranger with whatever he saw fit. Brolis smirked, and knew that Sodom would love to get out and rip this little shroom to shreds. "Go Sodom!" Brolis said as he tossed the little orb into the air. Within a second, the Zangoose appeared in a flash of light. He shook off the excess sparkles and then turned to his master. "Alright Sodom. It's time to lose some energy. I have the opportunity to go with this man and help out some Pokemon in need. But first I have to prove myself I guess. So lets try and do this! It's about time you get used in a real Pokemon battle, and I know you're probably brimming with energy! Alright, go Sodom! Use a Leer and then Quick Attack that little mushroom!" Brolis said smiling. He was happy to have finally given some orders to this Pokemon. Of course, Brolis wanted to use his strongest Pokemon as to not ruin any chances of helping this man. At least Sodom seemed to respect Brolis, that was good. But Brolis' main concern was that he really did want to win and hopefully he would be able to really shine and be able to help this man out with something, whatever that may be. He just wanted to be of help to someone. |

With a sharp turn of his head, Sodom peered down at the mushroom, using Leer as you instructed. The Pokemon Ranger chuckled, and shook his head, taking command of his Shroomish much like you did to your Zangoose. However, not all was going to go according to plan. I mean yeah, you kind do need to win this in order to save those Pokemon, but he wasn’t going to make it easy. This was a test of your ability in order to see if you were able to last in the harsh environment that is the outside world. I know, lame, right? In any case, the first attack to come from the mushroom was a cloud of spores. Specifically? Stun Spores. While Sodom charged in for a Quick Attack, the attack was unleashed and the Shroomish was hit, but in exchange, Sodom was standing where the spores were released; becoming paralysed! The ranger then commanded to use Absorb, which then connected due to the paralysis setting in. Overall though, things were still in your favour, just make sure things stay that way. Brolis nodded. So the round didn't go as planned, but at least the attacks were successful. Sodom was now paralyzed, and every step he took, it looked as though he was having a harder and harder time moving. Brolis knew that this meant it was going to be harder to execute a good move, so instead of using a physical move, Brolis decided to rely on a different tactic. Lowering defense. He could always substitute Pokemon, so that was always alright. There was no way he would lose. Brolis was too smart. He couldn't lose unless he wanted to completely be a loser and never make it anywhere in life. Brolis smiled. "Alright Sodom. The first round didn't go so well, but now it's time for a good one. I want you to use leer again, weaken it's defenses further. Then focus as much energy on him as you can, then go for another quick attack. We got this Sodom. Keep up the good work." he said, nodding as it were. Brolis was ready to keep up the fight. He needed to in order to move past this man and get right into something more exciting. It was time to further his horizons. He could say that he has then worked with a Pokemon Ranger, not many untrained people have. It was going to be an exciting road ahead of him for sure. He could feel it. |

The Greatest Thief of All

"You know what to do, Shroomish." assured the Ranger, his voice calm yet cocksure. He seemed quite confident that the little spore would triumph over Sodom, though the scales were currently tipped in your favor. After all, you had a clear level superiority over the little mushroom. You were happy to battle, too, that was for certain. It'd almost be enough to get you started on the task right away... well, almost. With an confirming nod, it did indeed seem that the Shroomish knew what to do. As you informed Sodom to attempt once more to perform the "Eastwood stare" and catch the Shroomish offguard, the Fungus Pokemon had other ideas. Capitalizing on the still paralyzed Zangoose's physical plight, the Shroomish launched another hail of spores, draining the life from Sodom and absorbing it as his own. Unfortunately, Sodom locked up, clenching his eyes in pain after the peculiar feeling of being paralyzed - his attempts to stare the sporeling into a scared state were fully unsuccessful, as the Shroomish gained a second wind from its Absorb attack. However, Sodom was still following your instructions - though it had a little different idea on how to accomplish your commands. He focused himself the best way he knew how. A little Swords Dance would keep him in the best of his offensive capabilities. Moving with as much fluidity as he could muster, the Zangoose relaxed his muscles, weaving in and out to try and overcome the effects of the paralysis as his opponent continued to celebrate. Clacking his claws together as if to sharpen them up, Sodom began his attack. Moving with deadly accuracy and speed, Sodom struck the Shroomish with his blade-like claws, sending up another cloud of spores on impact! Finding himself taking another big whiff of a cloud, this time Sodom was struck with poisonous spores. Though he seemed to have temporarily ignored the effects of the paralyzing cloud, he found himself confronted with another disabling effect. Angered at being disrupted, the Shroomish likewise retaliated with a head bash, tackling Sodom in retaliation. You had quite a battle on your hands, and it was just getting good. Brolis clapped excitedly at his little Pokemon. Sodom was doing well and he definitely wanted to win this battle. The only thing that saddened him was the fact that Sodom was now poisoned as well as under paralysis. That was a discomforting thought. But Brolis had a feeling that Sodom could pull through and give it a good go. "Alright there Soddy-boy. Lets make this round a good one. Lets do a two strike attack. I want you to calm your muscles, just like you did last time, as to shake off the paralysis. Concentrate on doing that, then blast in at the little mushroom as fast as you can. Then as you near him, I want you to use a quick attack. Make that attack count. Then as he flies back, focus yourself and ready for a scratch attack! With that, I think you can just run back here and hope that you don't get sprayed with another set of deadly spores!" Brolis exclaimed. He had this battle strategy. Last turn he decided to lash out with a strong scratch attack after hyping up the attack skill. This turn Brolis wanted a full offensive strike. Well, it was a good thought. Hopefully Sodom could pull it off. Brolis nodded as if to say that Sodom was good to go. Sodom then nodded, sickened by the poison and stunned by paralysis. He was becoming a vegetable, but he just had to make it through one more round before the paralysis wore off. The poison however, would take a bit longer to wear off. Brolis knew by this time, Sodom would be extremely tired, but he had to pursue this opportunity to help out other Pokemon in need. |

The Greatest Thief of All

Sodom was cool as a cucumber, despite the heavy battering of conditions and general tactical strength of his opponent, the Ranger's Shroomish. It seemed that the battle-worn Zangoose was not the type to give up in the face of power - a fighter to the end, through pain and paralysis, Sodom was ready to continue fighting. To keep himself going through the pain, the Zangoose used his sharp claw to slice his paw, drawing blood but keeping his mind clear (much like a boxer who might cut open his eyelid to bleed out a bruise). It was a drastic measure, but Sodom clearly had his eyes on one thing: defeating this Shroomish. Doing as you asked, the Zangoose began to relax himself once more. But, unfortunately for Sodom, the Ranger's Shroomish had other plans. With a running start, the little Mushroom quickly slammed into the would-be heavily concentrating Sodom, quickly interrupting his train of thought and attempts to shrug off the paralysis. Unfortunately, this was not going to be good. It seemed as if the fates were weighted heavily against you - perhaps you had been bad this year, and this was Santa's way of telling you to shapen up? Either way, it was unfortunate that Sodom went to such great lengths to keep himself concentrated only to be thrown off by the attacks of the With a quick kick of his stubby legs, the Shroomish landed another quick blow on Sodom, sending the Zangoose sprawling. His white fur seemed abnormally colorless, seemingly drained of all life. It was clear the Sodom was in bad shape, as Shroomish again Absorbed some health. But, the Zangoose was determined to continue battling. As you had asked, he fired off a Quick Attack, his hand bleeding from the self-inflicted wound. Though the Shroomish took it, it was clear that Sodom's full strength was not in the hit. Concern raising in his voice, the Ranger spoke. "Are you sure you want to keep this up, lad? We can continue if you'd like, but your Zangoose seems awfully hurt." Surely your luck would be better next round, but Sodom was quite hurt - what would you do? The decision was in your hands. YOUR POKEMON Lv. 14 27/53 69%(Poisoned, -2 health per turn) (Bleeding, -1 health per turn) (Attack +2) YOUR OPPONENT Lv. 10 20/45 76%(Defense -1) |

Brolis stood there, Sodom was a fighter, and wasn't going to give up, but with the growth of concern within the Ranger, Brolis also thought that it would be best if Sodom were to stop. "Sodom! You're hurt. Do you really think you should continue battling? I agree with the Ranger. Maybe we should stop the battle. He is a strong opponent and I don't want to see you become any more hurt than you already are. So please, return to your Pokeball. I'll take you to the Pokemon Center and we can get you all fixed up!" he said with concern. He then pulled out Sodom's Pokeball and said. "Return Sodom!" With that, and a glow of light, Sodom was returned to his Pokeball. Brolis was disappointed at the fact that he had to give up the fight, but then he had a thought. "Mr. Ranger, do you think we can try this again? I'm really sorry, but you were right all along. If I had pushed Sodom any farther he could have been truly injured. You're an amazing battler, and I wish you luck. But I must get back in there and give her Sodom to care for. When I return, do you think it would be alright if we did this again? Or what if I called out another Pokemon in his place. He's just so overridden with energy these days. He doesn't get the opportunity to fight all that much. But I do have more strategies with my other Pokemon. I am also sorry for delaying any progress that you need to get done. What am I to do now? Shall I go? Or shall I stay and battle with another?" he said, concern raising in his voice towards the end. Brolis did have a heart for Pokemon, thus stopping the fight before it was truly over was the best thing to do. Maybe this Ranger would allow him to battle with another Pokemon, but as for now, he felt so defeated. Sodom probably could have gone on, but this Ranger was also quite right. He was tough, and Brolis needed to understand that no matter what, a Pokemon's well being is what's most important. Even if that means giving up other opportunities that might arise from that. |

"I think that was a noble decision," said the ranger giving his Tauros a rub on the head for being so good "It takes balls to forfeit a battle, but mostly the meaning behind the forfeit is a kind and generous one. You obviously care much about pokemon and are quite a strong battler." He seemed to think for a moment before you spoke, and when you did he listened to your every word, nodding occasionally. When you had finished though, he smiled "Think nothing of it, I believe a trainer like you is just what I need. Let's go to the pokemon center and get your little battler looked at, I need to talk with you about something anyway." He mounted his Taurous in one swing of his legs, an obviously practiced movement and the two of you set off towards the Pokemon Center. "We have recieved word," the Ranger began " Of a disturbance in a small forest out of Route Five. An undetermined pokemon is causing trouble, forcing pokemon out of their homes and into the surrounding plains, in some cases it is destroying farm steads and other pokemon habitats. My collegue James and I were going to go check it out, but he ate a bad burger and came down with terrible food poisoning." You rounded a few corners and the pokemon center was in sight, it was either quite close or you had been lost in conversation and did not know how far you had actually gone. "I'm one of the leaders of our group and I thought civillian help might be an option, but until now I didn't act upon it. You remind me a little of James though, he couldn't stand to have seen that Zangoose of yours put through any more pain than what it sustained." He stopped in front of the Pokemon Center, dismounted and joined you inside. You gave you pokeball to the nurse, and the ranger seemed to flirt with her a little before she scurried off to do her job. Whilst you waited, the ranger suddenly happened upon a fact and his face became a mixture of shock and embarassment. "You know, we've been battling this entire time, and walking here, an I didn't tell you who I was. I don't know who you are either kid. So how about we start the introductions momentarially, right now I have something to ask you." He had brought a sack with him, and he now opened, "I was going to give this to James for the mission but... darn" his sentence was cut short because at that moment a seem came loose on his bag spilling out three pokeballs. "Shoot, I had it all organised too, now I can't remember which one is which. Hey kid, I was gonna give you one of them anyway, so pick one, it will be your 'Ranger Loan' until after the mission. Like a lucky draw it is." You had three pokeballs sitting on the counter in front of you, you had to pick one and the Ranger wasn't making it easy for you. He didn't know which was which, and you didn't know what they were, he could tell you what they were but he wasn't, this made it that much more "Lady Luck dependable." Pick one Brolis, if you dare... mwu ha ha ha! -- I mean -- chuckle chuckle. (Also, make sure to note that you are in a plot on your next ref request. ) |

Brolis smiled and was happy that his 'good boy' side was coming through enough for the ranger to notice. He then took the walk with the ranger to the center, and everything seemed to go quite well. Brolis was quite pleased that the ranger let his stay, and he was also quite happy with the fact that Sodom would be healed up as good as new. Within the Pokemon Center, the ranger dropped the Pokeballs on the ground. Brolis was then told to pick one of them which he would be able to use with the upcoming problematic Pokemon troubling the area around Millenia. He looked at each one, and gave a smirk as he bent over and grabbed all three of them. "Here, I'll take this one." he said, choosing the one that was in the middle. "My grandmother always said that if you have to take sides, than the battle is going to be twice as tough. So taking the middle, with no sides, is my choice." he said as he gave the other two back to the ranger. "Heh, I'm Brolis Demora by the way. A trainer and hopeful breeder. I do have a question for you while we wait...or two rather." he said before continuing. "You're a ranger, so I suspect you know this area quite well. For my first question...I would like to know if you know of any houses or lots available with which I could use to start up a breeding shop. I would love to be able to procreate an abundance of Pokemon for other less fortunate trainers, and maybe even be a kind enough person who will give out Pokemon as starters to some of the more unwilled trainers. You know, just to further the fact that taking a Pokemon journey is quite fun. As for my second question, do you think I can call out this Pokemon? See what's inside? After all, I will be surprised and I am pretty excited to see who will be my new teammate. We gotta get to know each other after all." Brolis finally stopped chattering away. Yes, he wanted to know if there were any open lots within the area, he would have liked to find a good lot outside of Millenia because of the fact that there were no other Breeders shops there, and Brolis thought that maybe he and Delia could work together at some point. She was quite a profession daycare woman, and he looked up to her, even though he hadn't ever met her. He was just excited to get everything underway. Plus helping out this man would be quite a bonus on top of everything that he had already done. He just had to wait for the nurse to return his Pokemon, then the two could be on their way. |

The ranger chuckled softly, taking the other two pokeballs. "Sounds like your Grandmother's just bursting with good tips and hints." He smiled, putting the other two pokeballs away. "My name's Derai. Derai Disup." He offered his hand for shaking, listening to all else you had to say, your questions making him curious. He thought for a long moment and shrugged, shaking his head. "I'm afraid I don't know of any open lots. I travel around a lot, so... Yeah..." He hummed as you aired your second question and smiled, waving ahead of him. "By all means, go ahead." He smiled, curious to see what was in the ball, himself. He paused, himself, to watch as you would summon out the glob of undulating red light, quickly forming into an orderly glob, and then a sillhouette, until finally the light shattered and left in it's place a bright red-orange fox with six curled little tails, who gave a wide-mawed yawn and stretched over the floor a bit before looking up at you. "Vul?" She asked softly, tilting her head your direction. "Ah, it's her. I guess their order didn't change much after all..." He muttered, then dug through his bag until he found a safety pin to hold together the new opening in his bag. "Anyways, Brolis, this'll be your loan for this mission. Will she do alright for you?" he asked with a soft smile, watching for the reaction. He would wait even-temperedly, unlike the Tauros waiting outside the center and beginning to grow testy waiting for him, and the nurse would return shortly with Sodom's pokeball. "You need anything before we head out that way, Brolis?" He asked, pushing the little satchel into a slightly larger backpack that was about to go into the Tauros' saddlebag, to prevent further spillage. |

Brolis gaped at the sight of the little Pokemon. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was the ever famous Vulpix! He was now quite excited to be going on this mission. He opened his Pokedex and received the information all about the little fox Pokemon. He smiled and then when the ranger asked if he had anything he wanted to do before going, he just shook his head. He bent over and stretched out his hand to pet the little Pokemon that would soon be working with him on his mission to destroy whatever it was that terrified the Pokemon in the forest. "Hey little fella. How are you doing? Apparently I'm your partner for this mission. Well, you're beautiful. I've always wanted a Pokemon like you." he said smiling. Brolis stood and then nodded saying, "Well Derai, I guess I am ready to go. There's nothing I need, now that our Pokemon are healed, I say we best get on our way to stop the terror." Brolis was indeed quite excited to be on his way to getting through this mission. Apparently it was a strong Pokemon that was doing the terrorizing. Well, if that was the case, he just bought a few Pokeballs about an hour before being asked to go on this mission, he was completely ready for anything. He was extremely excited to see what awaited him out in the wilderness, after all, he was rather new to this place and seeing what Pokemon were out in the forest would be a good thing for him. Of course, the ranger didn't know exactly where to find a good building or set up for a breeder, but Brolis would find out soon enough. He would make that a priority after this mission. |

Derai smiled softly at your reaction. It was good that you were pleased with your choice from the lucky dip; from his experience, there was little worse than disliking the pokémon you worked with. It harboured discontent and bad feelings on both sides, and never ended well. The Vulpix seemed equally as content; she made small, happy noises as you petted her, and gave a cute, positive "Pix!" in responce to your question. She was mild-mannered and easily adjusted to you as her her temporary owner, snuggling up to your leg as you turned back to Derai. He nodded to the affirmative. "Good! It's best not to keep trouble waiting; we don't need it to develop further, beyond what we already know. Since you're all ready, we can leave right now." Gesturing at the door, the ranger dipped his hat at the nurse with a wink - some last-minute flirting never hurt - and then followed you outside. The Vulpix, since you haddn't recalled her, trotted along beside you, quite happily. Derai didn't remount the Tauros waiting outside, because it was unfair on you, not having anything to ride. He whistled at it, and it loped along behind you both as you turned off into a path which led out into the forest. Even without mounts, it did not take long before civilisation was behind you, and you were in the wilderness once more, walking quietly alongside your new ally and, possibly, your new friend. Who knew where this could lead after this mission? Perhaps this was opening up whole new possibilities for you; Derai might not know the best places for setting up your own breeding facility, but he could know people who did. Social networking is a valuable tool. The path seemed quiet and peaceful - almost too peaceful. The Vulpix at your feet and the large burden-bearing Tauros huffing and puffing behind you were the only signs of pokémon so far. That seemed odd? The sky was blue, the air was clear, the day was calm - wait, no. The sounds of life arose from somewhere in the thickness of the trees, somewhere nearby; the rustle of leaves and the sudden screeching. Was it out of fear, of joy, of sadism? It was difficult to tell; it could be so many pokémon, and for so many reasons. Whatever it was, it was probably connected to the 'disturbance' you were investigating, right? Trouble was, its origin was hard to pinpoint; it seemed to resonate around you, confusing the senses. And the air was clear? No it wasn't; in fact, it was beginning to stink. Was that the smell of.... no, the stench of dead things? Suddenly, with every step you took, the smell grew stronger, filling your nose with the undeniable trademark of a carcass. Well, that was revolting. It was also probably connected to the noises, and hence, the disturbance. Turning to you, Derai's face was the picture of seriousness. Something was wrong. "We'll need to split up and check it out; I'm sorry to leave you like this, but this could be anywhere, and we're more likely to find the source if we're in two teams. If you get in any trouble, just send a message, okay? I'll be in the area." With that, Derai gave another sharp whistle to the Tauros, wished you luck, and ventured off into the trees. You were alone, but you have Vulpix and your own trusted pokémon; you also had some responsibility. Will you fulfill it, and try to find the source? |

Brolis walked along the path happily, glancing down at the little Vulpix that stood beside him every now and again. He was so happy to see that he was working with those who helped Pokemon out. He wasn't awarded the knowledge of knowing of any open houses available for rent or to buy, but one thing was for sure, that this ranger might know someone who would know more, maybe even Delia herself! Now, that was getting a little off topic, but still, Brolis needed to settle down and start taking charge of his life the right way, having somewhere to go home to now and again would be perfect. He didn't want to be stuck having to go from Pokemon center to Pokemon center looking for a room. Also, another bonus was going to be able to give Pokemon to people who wanted them, especially if he got his hands on a rarer Pokemon that wasn't available to everyone. Having these thoughts in mind, he kept walking down the path, listening to his hopeful new friend whistling a song, bobbing his head as he did. Luckily he and this Vulpix did get along, it would have been terrible if they hadn't, because other than Sodom, Brolis got along well with all of his Pokemon. Now he can say he had gotten along with even his temporary ones. Well, as it were, there seemed to be an eerie presence within the forest, and an undeniable smell of rotting corpse. Brolis was now officially freaked out, especially when the ranger left him alone. Luckily he did have Vulpix and the rest of his crew to help him out. He just didn't want to be too extremely far away from civilization, for if he was, Brolis was afraid he wouldn't be returning. What if he stumbled across a dead body of a human? Or a Pokemon? Or worse...both? He was disgusted, but he kept trudging forward as he tried to keep a cool and collected guise upon his face. What would he find? He was hoping to find something that would help the investigation, but the smell of the rotting dead? That was just disgusting. Oh well, he was helping out the rangers, and that was all that mattered at this point to him. Maybe he would one day become honored within the rangers little clan and he could then use their services in the future. Who knew, right? A simple civilian helping out those who are more fortunate...or less fortunate...either way Brolis was excited, yet terrified of what was to come. |

Overlord of Blowing $hit Up

By Crosse: The putrid stench of death and rotting flesh engulfed the atmosphere around you. The further you pursued into the eerie forest, the stronger the rancid odor grew, and there was no way to escape it. The odor would slip through your clothes with ease if you attempted to cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or any other cloth you had on your person, and unfortunately the smell seemed to stick to your skin – making you uncomfortable in your own skin, for you were beginning to feel as if your body was being caked with grime and muck (no. not the Pokemon). How unfortunate that must have felt, wanting to tear your way out of your own precious skin…. Oh but yes, it can only get worse from here as you move on and on, slowly making your way deeper and deeper into the forest. If you were to look down, you would see that your cohort had stopped strolling by your side –for now she lay on the ground, eyes clenched shut, and pawing at her nose with her auburn forepaws. Whether you decided to stop and question your sweet comrade what the problem was or not, the answer would reveal itself to you within seconds. Your nose began to burn. The searing pain would cause you to stop in your tracks like your Vulpix, and for you to grasp at your nose with your own hands as she did with her paws. The pain caused your eyes to uncontrollably become glazed with tears, but still, being the loyal Boy Scout you seemed to be, you would press on. After a few moments of rest, your Vulpix stood once more, and began to follow you once again. Well, I think now it’s about time to put all these thoughts of this horrid aroma what cadaver or cadaver’s were producing it to rest, and search out for the monstrosity that surely was lying just beyond the bend. Just then though and seemingly right on cue, and obnoxious, yet manic sounding screech engulfed the dead air. The hellion cried out again, again, and again with its deafening ear-bleeding screech. If you did decide to wander closer to the boisterous fiend, a zig here and a zag there would eventually lead to a curtain of lichen. It blocked out most of the sunlight, but a few large holes in the wall of fungi gave witness to what had caused the ruckus. It was perched on a rotten trunk in on a clearing within the forest, his magnificent mauve wings stretched outwards and head lifted up to the sky as he continued to shriek. A Ravenant, none the less, is it not? The mystical crow eerily cawed at the heavens, totally unaware of your presence, oh but then you just had to step on that one, tiny stick did you not. The only twig within a five mile radius, and you were the lucky fellow that placed your foot upon it with a SNAP! The Ravenant crimson eyes had locked onto yours from your haven of vegetation and cocked its head to the side questioningly. Perhaps it would be best to SLOWLY BACK AWAY, or to try and calm the ravenous bird, or to –OH SHIT. Within a flash, the raven like creature swooped off of his perched and lunged at you, talons barred. Thankfully though, you would be able to block the attack on your face with your arms, but nevertheless his needle-like claws pierced through your soft flesh and clothing easily, causing blood to run down your arms and turn your sleeves the color of a sickly maroon. Vulpix was a stunned as you were, just watching in awe with mouth agape as the creature unpredictably attacked you. She watched as you tried to force the cretin away from your face, and how it chased you (and her, might I add) from your haven into the open. With a sudden burst of courage, the she fox cried out, and let a fury of embers fly at the bird, but alas, the bird dodged them all and set itself upon the rotting stump one more. The Ravenant seemed to hiss at you, spreading his wings upon his stump as if to intimidate you…he was not going to allow you to leave….
