It's true, your Pokemon were getting worn out. On the bright side, they're getting a good haul of experience for it. Just think, you're so close to that coveted Lapras nest, you could practically taste it. I'm not sure where I was going with that, so let's just get back to the ref.

Tezeh was scheming something in that rocky dome of his, which wouldn't bode well for your team. He raised his arm once again for a Rock Blast and pointed it at Teddiursa. Shinx jumped into the fray and clamped down on his arm once again, sending the attack in the wrong direction. However, Sonata was wide open for what came next. The Nightshade lept from Tezeh's eyes and blasted her for about a third of her health. Canon came around the back and Licked him once for a bit of damage, a second time, which also had the effect of Paralysis (Hooray!), and a final third time. The rock ghost finally had enough of this battle and used Smokescreen. The darkness filled the cavern for a few fleeting seconds, just enough time to make an escape. As it cleared, you could see a luminous figure running down the left path before he disappeared.

You may not have beaten him, but you did scare him away to open your path. Now the question, which path? Tezeh wouldn't run in the direction of the nest, especially if he wanted to get away from you and your Pokemon. So that leaves the right and center path. The two side paths were smaller than the one you were currently on, maybe about 4-5 feet high while the main one continued at the same height. Food for thought, but make your choice quickly.

Teddiursa gains 6 :exp
Shinx gains 7.5 :exp (She's still Lv. 8, I just wrote the wrong level to begin with for this battle. ^_^; )

Choices. Dammit, she wasn't good at them. She found herself staring down either path and trying to get a good look at which would lead her to the nest; the girl furrowed her brow. This wasn't good ... and her standing there without doing anything wasn't good either! The girl thought about her decisions for a moment, before lifting Canon up onto her shoulder and withdrew Sonata. The little female shouldn't have to endure more than she had to, and her being amazingly cooperative in this watery situation was rather admirable of her, considering how reluctant she was to fight in the beginning. Aquos grinned at the bear upon her shoulder and trudged on ahead.

"Well, Canon, we've gotten this far ..." she muttered to the Teddiursa. With Clavier in his Pokeball for some time, she hoped that he could be slightly more rested in terms of energy (perhaps health as well) when he was called out again. Somehow, she felt as if the need for the turtle would rise when she found her way to the nest. Nothing was going to be easy to get, really. She headed on over to the right path, hoping that it was the right choice she was making.

... you know, right choice and right path? No?

Well, that joke most certainly fell flat.

"... so we gotta push on through! Let's go!"

Canon did a strange sort of cheer, lowering his head slightly so as to not bump his head into the ceiling. Who knows it might get low all of a sudden ... yeah. It was a cave that they were in, after all.

Hmm, it appears as though someone didn't do their homework on their quarry. The average Lapras is about 8 feet high and yet you chose the path that causes even you to crouch down to avoid bumping your head. How do you think Lapras could get through this part with her shell? It would be neigh impossible. Alas, now something else has to happen...

You continued down your chosen pathway, ducking your head to avoid bouncing it off the ceiling. The farther you went, the darker the cave seemed to get. Feeling your way seemed the only sure way to tell that you were even moving forward now. Suddenly, you could tell that the walls and ceiling were closing in to shrink this path even further. Down to your hands and knees, you could see through a two foot by two foot hole that there was light coming from the other side, but it looked like the beach, not the nest you seek. Sadly, there were no other pathways out of this corridor, unless you happened to be a Rattata or something small like that. You came quite a distance, chewing up a bunch of time, only to take the wrong path. So, your choice: head back the way you came or give up and crawl through this hole, if you can.

Of course she didn't do her homework. Well, considering everything that had happened, she didn't have the time to do so. On the other hand, she might have as well done some, seeing as her life was somehow at stake here ... hmm. But once again, no point crying over spilled milk. Aquos steeled herself and started heading back the way she came, Canon leading the way before the duo stood side by side when they came out from the tunnel. Now ... which route? The question lingered once again. Another wrong choice and they would have to return to the area some other day, which meant wasted time. Yet, what they had gained on this trip so far was invaluable: a rare Pokemon, several levels and not to mention some learned moves.

Time was ticking away while Aquos and Canon were standing there. Glancing at each other for a brief moment, the Trainer decided to follow the remaining path. Realistically, there was no other choice unless they chose to burst their own way through - Aquos wasn't above that (but the team sorely lacked the firepower needed for that). Anyway, the Teddiursa splashed through the steadily rising water, the girl right behind him while they trekked deeper into the cavern.

"This has been quite fun, hasn't it?" she muttered aloud; even though the first fight with the boys had been more unfair than fun, she didn't quite blame them. She learned from that and moved on, but it was highly likely that Requiem would never forget it. Battered pride was harder to mend than physical wounds. Canon simple nodded, not eager to know what was going behind her mind. Sometimes things were better left unsaid; it wasn't like she'd understand him, at any rate.

Hooray, you're back on track! I guess I should have been clearer with descriptions even though there's always something I seem to forget. Oh well, what's done is done and it only cost you one turn. It could have been worse, like giving you another Pokemon to fight. At any rate, let's keep moving forward toward that Lapras.

Backtracking isn't exactly a fun process, but a necessary one. Coming so far to just quit seems a little ridiculous so you made the right choice. Traversing the darkness brought you closer to your goal, as the light up ahead grew brighter. Finally, you and your Pokemon returned to the crossroads you were at before, with the same choices. It seems you made the right choice this time by taking the center path. By all rights, that trek should have taken the same amount of time as it did the first time. So, I kinda have to do this: Time count: 6

Honestly, it doesn't make much difference. You're so close, you can nearly taste it! Or, feel it, in this case. Is it just me, or is it getting colder in here? The farther you walked, the lower the temperature seemed to go. Up ahead, you could see a glow emanating from the end of the tunnel. Your breath began to condense as you exhaled. Finally, the glow you saw started to shine brighter, almost like daylight. You entered the glowing gateway to see exactly where you are. Once your eyes adjusted to the brightness, you could see a great cavern before you, with the walls and ceiling covered in ice with just one hole for light to filter in, creating the awesome glow around you. The floor remained covered in sand, but the grains seemed bigger, also covered in ice. Awe seemed to be the best word for it as you looked around. However, your gaze soon settled on something set in the center of the cavern. It was an egg similar to the one you already had, but different in a way. This was the nest you've been searching for. The Lapras' nest. Now that you're here, will you take the egg or sit here to wait for Momma Lapras to return? The choice is yours.

The trek seemed endless, and time ticked on and on without fail. Aquos started to worry in a characteristic that was unlike hers. Canon kept a level speed as they headed on quietly. "What do you want to do next, Canon?" she asked while moving. The bear Pokemon shrugged without a comment. He could just as easily ask the Trainer the same question, but then again, he was more or less the type that preferred to do what he was told. He'd go with the crowd if it pleased them at the end of the day. Hopping onto her shoulder, they moved onwards to the new tunnel.

And the light started to shine ...

Oh, great! Finally, the prize ... with some time to spare. It'd be better to see if the mother was there or not, right? It seemed like she wasn't around, but if she was ... Aquos didn't want to think about it. She could just sneak down and get the egg with the risk of facing the wrath of the mother; her Pokemon were still worn out and she didn't want to take the chance. Waiting, on the other hand would eat up her precious time. Without further ado, the girl trotted forwards, Canon breaking into a sprint. "Get the egg," she whispered and the Teddiursa obeyed, making a dash towards the egg. Whether they could get it or not was another matter altogether.

A moment later, her Poketech on her wrist beeped softly, notifying her of a new message. Eager to get the device to shut up, Aquos pacified it by purchasing five lottery tickets; after all, there was a promotion going on. Not only that - from what she remembered, the more tickets she bought, the longer the device stayed silent.

Canon bounded over to the egg and tried to pick it up, but it was too much. He just didn't have enough strength. Not to mention, being the egg of a Lapras would make it fairly heavy. He continued to strain with it until you reluctantly walked over and picked it up yourself. With the egg in your arms, you moved to leave. Now would definitely be a good time to get out.

Suddenly, a very loud and melodic cry filled the ice cavern. Uh oh, looks like Mama just got home. Looking around, you could see no other exits besides the small hole that gave light from the ceiling. Not to mention there aren't really any indents in the wall that would you allow you to hide. All you could do was wait for Lapras to reach you. Once she poked her head into the light and pushed herself into the cavern, you could see that she was not happy to have visitors. It could also be that you had her egg in your arms. She cried once more before firing a wave of Ice Shards at you. They went over your head, a warning shot. It looks like she means business. Given that it is her egg, this would almost be expected. You're going to be in for a rough battle this time. Good luck.

Canon glanced back at Aquos; he was a tad too small to lift it up. Requiem might have been a better choice, but with his leg in this condition, he just wasn't cut out for fighting at all. The Teddiursa did try, though, but the girl stepped in and went ahead to get the egg herself. With a smile at Canon, she turned around to leave with her companion - sadly, they didn't get the chance too. A cry echoed throughout the cavern she was in; the cry was loud but melodic, almost soothing ... if it wasn't for the motherly rage the Lapras harbored within her. In short, it was a terrible situation to be in.

"Canon ... kyaaa!"

Aquos yelped, ducking at once before the Ice Shards clattered and shattered upon contact with the rocky walls. Shaken, but not stunned, she got up from where she was and took out a Pokeball. Inhaling, she maximized the item before a beam of light shot out of it. While it wasn't an impressive Pokemon she chose to use, it certainly was a Pokemon she felt could work in this situation. It was a turtle Pokemon, a Turtwig.

"Clavier, Canon," she addressed them, knowing full well that her very first Pokemon held a type disadvantage against the Lapras. "Clavier, stay out of the way of those shards, okay?" Canon wasn't going to fight, but he was staying as backup in case she needed a quick switch of Pokemon.

She hugged the egg closer to her. There was no way she was going to lose the egg ... no matter what, she'd hold unto it. Giving his Trainer a nod, Clavier stepped forth, eyes focused on the Lapras. After a short break, he felt himself ready for a battle, though it was going to be a tad tiring. His body started to gather with energy; the sun wasn't visible, but there was a light source from the ceiling, thankfully. It allowed the Turtwig to gear up for his Absorb attacks.

Short on time, I'll skip the intro. So, Canon is going to sit back for a little while? That's probably a wise choice. He doesn't have much left in terms of health or energy. Clavier is still fairly decent in that regard so let's get to the nitty gritty of the battle.

Lapras was most likely going to be annoyed through this entire battle, so don't expect her mood to get much better. When she spotted the turtle, she immediately released a Mist attack. The cavern became like an icy cloud, causing the temperature to drop. You could see your breath if you tried hard enough. Luckily, it didn't cloud the place completely. Clavier could still see Lapras on the other side. He proceeded to use Absorb, trying to gain precious health and energy from the raging mother. He managed to steal a little, but not a whole lot. Trying once more got a net loss of energy but a gain in health. Lapras wasn't going to have any of that, so she Growled menacingly through the mist. It lowered Clavier's attack as he took a step back. This certainly wasn't going to be an easy fight. However, you knew it wasn't going to be. So, what will you do now?

Everything was just about ... right. They were so close to escaping, but they didn't have the chance to. And Aquos decided that she was going to settle things with the Lapras with Clavier. Even though Clavier was a little low on energy, as informed by the Poketech, she realized that he was their best shot at winning. With some moves, he could hopefully weaken the opposing Lapras enough before he was knocked out. Of course, the best case scenario was the Turtwig defeating the mother Pokemon, allowing them to escape.

Clavier shook his head, trying to clear the mist gathering before his face. He tried to stare through it, but to no avail. Luckily, it cleared just enough for him to keep an eye on his opponent. Inhaling the cold air, the turtle Pokemon grounded himself and reared his head backwards. The twig upon his skull whirled into motion, the leaves sprouting from it and hurtling towards his opponent. He wasn't sure if this was the right course of action, but he was confident that he did not want to get into the swatting range of the creature.

"Razor Leaf, thrice!"

There was the order. And there he was, obeying it by using the attack commanded.

Bleh, sorry for the delay. College started again making time a rare commodity. There is just so much that needs to happen for you yet. So, let's get this train moving.

Mama Lapras was by far the fastest in this battle. A Water Gun flew out of the Mist cloud, striking Clavier in the face. It did little damage, but enough to hurt. He responded with his first Razor Leaf of the round. The leaves found their mark, doing incredible damage given the circumstances, not to mention it was a critical hit. Lapras didn't take kindly to that, not at all. Suddenly, a ball of light shot across the room, impacting Clavier. He looked around a moment, not entirely sure what just happened. So, he used his second Razor Leaf for fair damage. Then, when he went to use his third Razor Leaf, Clavier face-planted into the ground, hurting himself in the process. That ball of light was Confuse Ray and did it's job at confusing Clavier. Things aren't looking so good right now. Maybe it's time to change it up? Though, that's your choice. It wouldn't be good if your ace in the hole was taken out early.

Aquos's Poketech started beeping. Since there wasn't anything to do, she decided to buy a few lottery tickets. As lame as it sounded, it was the thing that she had decided to do after paying 500$ for a Carvanha. What made her did that was beyond her ... something between a whim and momentous desire for a piranha made her do that. However, she didn't regret her decision. What was most important was that she got out alive. With her Pokemon kinda still hanging on in the middle of nowhere, her hand fell on Clavier's Pokeball and she recalled the turtle Pokemon.

That should probably mean that she still had something to fall back on. Another plus point was that the confusion would probably wear off ... probably. Now, who else to send out? Requiem had a broken leg, Sonata was tired out and Cadence ... Aquos wasn't even sure that Cadence would be able to last longer than two turns against something that had Water Gun as a move. This was certainly a messed up situation. It wasn't that she didn't have the means to do what she had to do - it was something like a momentary loss of thought when faced with a rather desperate situation. The final member of her party, by the way, was a Pokemon egg. She was pretty damn sure she couldn't and wouldn't do anything with it.

Whatever the case, there was something she had to do and she was going to do it. She released Cadence, glancing at the Charmander as it stood nervously by her side. Aquos inhaled. Then she exhaled sharply. Just one turn ... one turn. A quick look at her Poketech. The Lapras hadn't taken much damage. This meant that they had to either chip at energy to induce fainting, or hope for something that was beyond hope.

... alternatively she could order all her Pokemon to start hammering away at the sea creature. Yeah, that was definitely possible.

"Rock Slide as many times as you can, Cadence. Look out for Water Guns and bright beams of energy ... whatever looks dangerous," said Aquos to Cadence. The Charmander blinked quite a few times, nodding and trying to figure out what to do next. Perhaps he should start off by preparing Rock Slide ... and look out for ... what? Something ... dangerous? Water, yeah, water!

And then Aquos bought some lottery tickets.

Options are slim it seems. Especially if it requires sending out a young fire type to fight a strong water/ice type. It could end badly here with one well placed water gun. Well, at least Clavier's return to his pokeball cleared not only his confusion but also his lowered attack stat. Things may actually be starting to look up. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, there's still a strong Lapras standing, so keep up the attacks!

Lapras took the offensive first, using a ferocious Growl to weaken Cadence's attack stat. Not like it mattered anyway, the sheer level difference made any of his attacks extremely weak. Still, Cadence followed through with your orders. He formed a gathering of rocks in the air above Lapras to let them drop. The attack looked pretty brutal to be sure, but didn't seem to phase Lapras much. As she prepared her second attack, she flinched! Cadence took the opportunity to drop another Rock Slide on Lapras's head. She didn't take too kindly to it, but had no responses. A third volley of boulders appeared and fell. Lapras cried out in pain this time. Cadence scored a critical hit! Wow, I do believe the RNG was on your side this time. If this keeps up, you'll be out of here in no time. What will you do now?

Well, this was a situation where things just had to be done. Seeing as they were pretty far into the cave, it would take some time before they could make it out of the area in one piece. Not only that, they had to defeat the Lapras and get the egg at the same time. The girl smiled at Cadence, who smirked back at her. "Great job!" she said with a grin, patting the flame lizard upon his head. "Now we need to bring down that Lapras ... so, let's do it together, Cadence. Rock Slide twice, okay?"

The Charmander tapped his chin, nodding almost pensively. Rock Slide ... alright, seemed like a good plan. He had managed to flinch the aquatic creature, didn't he? So this was definitely a good start. And so, he readied his energy and mind in order to use Rock Slide. Of course, he was on the lookout for a jet or water, or anything of the sort.

A moment later, by his side was a blue-furred creature, accompanied by a turtle and bear - Sonata, Clavier and Canon respectively. To bring down Lapras in the shortest time possible and get away with the egg was their aim. His mind clear from confusion and dizziness, the Turtwig stepped up to the front, firing off several leaves at the shelled Pokemon. Canon wasn't as independent as Clavier, so he hung around Aquos while the girl calmed the Shinx down. Sonata wasn't one for fighting.

"Sonata~ it's kinda hard fighting, but you have to try, okay?" said Aquos, smiling at the young Pokemon, "It could be a little hard at first, but you should use Bite a couple or more times on the Lapras. If anything happens, any weird thing, just come back, okay?" Then, the teenager turned to Canon with a grin. "Canon, Fury Swipes. The usual."

The Teddiursa nodded.

Gah, this took way too long to get to. If only free time was more abundant. Oh well, let's get back to the action. Before that though, you noticed something change about the cavern. It wasn't as silent as it once was. A gurgling sound, like a backed-up drain, made it's presence known. Where it was coming from, you couldn't be sure, but it definitely held a foreboding presence in the room.

Regardless, there is a Lapras that needs taken down. She didn't take too kindly to being outnumbered and started off with a Growl, lowering the attack power of your entire team. That could put a damper in your plans. Turtwig responded with a Razor Leaf and a Rock Slide from Charmander. A critical off of Razor Leaf helped a bit too. Once those two hit their mark, Sonata and Canon rushed in with Bite and Fury Swipes, respectively, with only three swipes connecting. Of course, you couldn't get lucky enough to get a flinch this time, so Lapras released another Water Gun, this one at Sonata. She took the hit and lost a bunch of health. Your crew repeated step one with Razor Leaf, Rock Slide, Bite and Fury Swipes, which landed two hits. Lapras cried out from the barrage as Clavier and Sonata attacked once more with Razor Leaf and Bite, respectively.

By this point, all your pokemon were just about exhausted of their energy. To make matters worse, Lapras was still standing! She unburied herself from all the rocks, stared at you for a moment before turning around and leaving. That was it? Indeed it was and you landed yourself a Lapras egg! Apparently its mother decided you would be a strong trainer for it and left you go to it. Now that the path is clear... do you remember the gurgling noise from earlier? Yeah, a rock just shot out of the ground, hit the ceiling and landed at your feet. It was an odd looking stone and it had a faint glow.

:whitemeteor

A message appeared across your Poketech mentioning a company collecting those stones in the Meteoric Plains. I'd suggest taking it to them for the reward, but that's kind of a no-brainer. Well, that's some luck for you, though, now that the stone is gone from the ground, water started rising slowly from the hole. I think now would be a good time to leave, wouldn't you say?
