Aquos thought about it for a moment. If Sonata did know something about static electricity, it was possible for her to first tutor Charge, before moving on to other attacks. It would certainly be a starting point, but the problem was usually … well, getting the Pokémon in question to understand the concept. Hopefully, Sonata was bright enough to know where this was going. Smiling down at the little Shinx, Aquos rubbed her fur lightly. “Sonata, listen up; you need to think of how you could hurt other people,” she said quietly, “Like making them stand up really straight when you bite them.” “Clavier, use Absorb and Bite!” she ordered, and the Turtwig nodded in response. This fight with the Starmie was admittedly, advantageous for him. However, wild (?) Pokémon were usually unpredictable, and thus, he simply couldn’t let his guard down. Range was currently his most advantageous stance, but he couldn’t think of how he was going to keep using his leaf projectiles while moving at the same time. Space wasn’t exactly … on his side, for that matter. The sea wasn’t too inviting to him at the moment, too. Aquos turned to the Shinx. “Sonata, watch Clavier when he uses his Bite attack. You need to figure out how you’re going to bite your target with the intention to harm.” Clavier – Absorb and Bite on Starmie Sonata – Bite tutor Edited by Aquos, Dec 6 2009, 10:09 PM.

Let's see what we're in for this time. Looks like a battle continuation with a bit of tutoring. That should be easy enough with my current lack of focus. I'm sure you would rather hear about your Pokemon than my week, so I'll try to ignore that urge and just get on with it. Clavier had his orders and Sonata was to watch and observe. Starmie, on the other hand, wasn't going to sit idly by and wait for you to make your moves. It started off right away by sending a stream of star-like projectiles, better known as Swift, at Clavier. He tried moving, but no matter where he went, they wouldn't miss their target. Retaliation quickly followed in the form of Absorb. Clavier managed to retrieve some of the health he just lost, but not much. Starmie, in frustration, used Recover to mend itself. As the glow faded from around the starfish, Clavier moved in for the Bite. Sonata watched intently as the Turtwig latched onto Starmie with his mouth. Your Shinx blinked a moment; was it really that easy? She looked up at you with a face that seemed to ask, 'can I try now?' Honestly, with a move as "simple" as Bite, hands-on experience will go much farther than theory. So, that pretty much wraps up this round and how are you going to manage against something that can recover health? Lv. 9 ![]() 37/43 84%VS. Really, what was better in a fight than letting the Pokémon fight on their own, and figure out how they were supposed to do stuff? Aquos believed in letting her Pokémon strategize themselves as they would in the wild – but she was definitely there to help when the need arose. Clavier was a funny one; he was the one that gave Aquos the idea of letting him lead his teammates. The Turtwig was a perfectly good companion so far, and hadn’t let her down. With the type advantage his moves and type held over the Starmie, it was going to be a pretty even fight, mainly due to the ‘Recover’ Starmie had in its arsenal of moves. It might be an uphill fight, but which fights weren’t? Sonata seemed to be catching on rather quick, looking at Aquos with a curious expression. A second or so later, she gave a little bark, hoping to join the fight. The girl weighed her options: she could let Sonata fight, learning how to use Bite while gaining some valuable experience, but on the other hand, exposing the little Pokémon to hurt. It was a rather hard choice, but at long last she decided to let her newest Pokémon fight in this match. Clavier was going to need the help, after all – it wasn’t like Recover made the fight any easier. “Okay, Sonata – you’re going to go in and use Bite on the Starmie. However, you really need to make it hurt; like you really want to Starmie to stop hurting your teammates,” said Aquos, watching as Clavier latched onto the starfish Pokémon with apparent ease. “Clavier, continue the Bite, then use Razor Leaf!” she continued, hoping that it’d be easier to target at close range … She glanced at her Poketech, before bringing up a message that prompted her if she wanted to trade off Tempo, her Sentret and a Pokeball for a mystery egg. Even though it was a sort of uneven trade, Aquos' curiosity was too great for her to pass up this offer. She agreed to the trade. Clavier – Bite and Razor Leaf on Starmie Sonata – attempting Bite on Starmie Edited by Aquos, Dec 19 2009, 03:35 AM.

I don't know about you, but all I can think about with this battle is how Starmie must be feeling. It started out by trying to sunbathe on the rocks before the Wingull showed up. Then you showed up and started trumping it with no real hope of winning. Now, by some grace of Arceus or possibly Sandraclaws, it has to be abused but good. I hope you will be happy with your victory, because one side of this showdown is going to be sulking for days. After dealing with a bit of trading, you have yourself an egg with an unknown Pokemon inside. Granted it cost you quite a bit, the deal must have been worth it. You can only hope it isn't a Bidoof or something as weak. Enough about that, let's get back to the battle. Starmie turned back to playing defense with a Hardening of its outer shell. It was probably the wisest choice the starfish could have made, considering the physical onslaught about to take place. Clavier held tight with his previous Bite before dropping to another of its arms and Biting that one. Sonata ran out to join Clavier as another ornament on the Christmas tree that is Starmie. Once there, she jumped up and grabbed onto one of its nine unoccupied legs and held on. The Shinx thought a few moments about how Clavier did it before clamping down with her teeth onto Starmie's leg. You could see it doing some damage, but there was something missing, something important. It lacked the malicious intent and dark energy that such attacks require. A little more tutoring is needed yet. Now then, acting like a tree can only last so long. Starmie started floating then before spinning like a top. Rapid Spin flung Clavier and Sonata back to your side, leaving a steaming starfish at the end. Mildly annoyed, Clavier flung a volley of Razor Leaves at Starmie. It was still standing, but just barely. Just then, in the later afternoon light, streaks of light in the sky caught your eye. It looked like a meteor shower, but those usually occur at night. There weren't many, but they were making it to the ground. While you were distracted by the light show, Clavier was watching one fly right at you! In a bit of quick thinking, he and Sonata tackled you to the ground. Starmie; however, was not so lucky. It turned around at the last moment to see something hit the rocks just behind it. The impact propelled debris high into the air and out to the sides. You were fortunate for your Pokemon's actions, otherwise you could have been horribly maimed. Starmie was not so lucky, since it was propelled into ocean and most likely knocked out. Now before you stood a small golden creature that looked like a star. Your Poketech took a few moments to respond, but it said it was a Twinkel. Wow, you win one battle and get thrust right into another one. A new Pokemon discovered, a half completed tutor, and a hole in the outcropping appeared. Wait, what? Yes, Twinkel is standing just in front of a hole that it created, which allows you to see that the solid rock on which you stand is not solid at all, but a cave. What a plot twist! It certainly seemed like nothing could go wrong – everything was solidly lucky for Aquos Templar. She sort of felt bad for the Starmie, but it had tried to interrupt her in her attempt to scout for a cave where a Lapras might be. It wasn’t much, but the girl valiantly hoped that her actions were justified. She smiled softly as Sonata charged on, attempting to use a Bite of her own, but didn’t quite have the intention to make the opponent hurt like Clavier did. Of course, the situation was different from when the Turtwig was tutored the very same move. Soon, her Pokétech was beeping annoyingly as Aquos watched the Starmie get cast out and into the ocean amidst the sudden light show. Whipping around to glare at the pink device she stole, the girl soon realized that it was not some weekly lottery prompting her to spend her money, but instead, was displaying a rather interesting Pokémon find. Was it something new that all Trainers should be aware of? Seemed like it, until she chose to finally look up. “Whoa!” The star shaped creature wore a smile; a smile the blue-haired teenager couldn’t quite read. Clavier and Sonata were at the ready for a fight; surely they could manage this fight, considering that Twinkel was a Psychic-typed Pokémon? The Turtwig cleared his throat, stamping his feet on the ground, which naturally, drew Aquos's attention instantly. A simple glance down made her notice that the previously-thought solid rock was in actuality, a cave! Now, that most certainly explained the Dream Ticket. Sableye were known to reside in caves, munching away on gemstones and rocks. Perhaps it was a tad too early for Aquos to count her chickens – or in this case, Pokémon – before they were hatched, or caught, yet again in this situation. Turning back to the battle at hand, she nodded at the turtle Pokémon and furred cub. “Now, I want this to be over quickly – I have no idea when the tide will come in, so: Clavier and Sonata; both of you, use Bite. “Sonata, you need to realize that you need to hurt your target. You simply have to hurt your foe before it hurts you, and if you’re hurt – deal it back double with your Bite! Make it regret attacking you, since at your level and strength, pain and hurt are your only weapons.” Despite knowing what she had said to the Shinx was somewhat of a ramble and probably on the edge of bullshit, Aquos waited for the first round of this latest battle to unfold. It's kind of scary how close you are, and yet you have so far to go. Well, first thing's first, tutoring Bite on Sonata and beating the baby star before you. Honestly, it almost seems unfair that you are ganging up on the baby Pokemon, both having super effective moves on it. Can't mess around too much can you. You have to beat the tide after all. Oh, and before I forget, Bite was 50% complete last time, I just forgot to write it down for some reason. At any rate, time to get started. Twinkel started off by using Charm on Clavier. The turtle immediately lost much of his will to fight the little one, not to mention quite a bit of attack power. Now, he still had his duty to you, and would fulfill your orders regardless. Clavier rushed forward, taking the star by surprise and clamping down in a Bite. It was noticeably weaker than it should have been, but it still did a lot of damage. Meanwhile, Sonata watched the Turtwig's form and tried copying him again. Clavier backed off allowing her room to attack. Twinkel was still recovering from the first blow when it got struck by a second set of teeth. It wasn't quite up to snuff, but the form was noticeably better. She actually tried focusing her pain into the attack, which created a bit of dark energy. One more go should be enough for her to complete the tutor. Once she backed off as well, Twinkel looked almost in tears before looking skyward. It glowed for a moment as the first star appeared in the sky. Whether you know it or not, Twinkel used Wish, hoping to recover health next turn. Looks like you will need to finish this up quick, otherwise it will be a restart that will be a little less in your favor... Who am I kidding, there is little that Twinkel could do to save itself next turn, but there is always that chance. Anyway, good luck, even though you probably don't need it this time. Well, everything sure was going okay. However, life was known to throw its curveballs. Aquos was more wary than ever of the new Pokémon; despite the fact that it seemed to be almost like a baby Pokémon, it had quite a high level and her Pokétech couldn’t pull quite enough information off it. All this just made the girl all the more wary of what her Pokémon did. As long as they kept pulling off effective hits, they should have this game in the bag … if not for that pesky technique the Twinkel had in its arsenal – Wish. She glanced towards both Clavier and Sonata. The little Shinx sure was holding her own rather admirably, for she was making great progress with the attack Bite. Clavier, on the other hand, seemed to be a rather good leader as he performed the very same attack. That aside, the star-shaped Pokémon didn’t seem to be putting up amounts of resistance … which could probably mean that this battle was going to be a rather long one. Aquos rubbed the back of her head, before pressing some other buttons on her Pokétech. It beeped several codes at her, before a bar appeared on the LCD screen. The teen noted quietly that it was downloading information off a resource – research? – center, and soon she would have most, if not all, information on the new and rather elusive Twinkel. “Okay, Clavier and Sonata – keep up the good job! Both of you, continue using Bite!” Sonata nodded at the order, baring her fangs at the wild Pokémon. It wasn’t much, but it sure helped her get in the mood to attack. Her usually peace-loving nature somewhat got in the way, though, since she wasn’t too fond of fighting. Clavier turned to his companion with a warm smile. He didn’t need preparations to use his Bite attack; all he could think of was to not let his teammates get hurt, and that was by taking down the foe before he could be taken down. I don't know about you, but this is starting to seem repetitive. What's worse, if Twinkel heals, we get two or three more rounds of the same thing. A part of me wants to stall this further, while the other half of me wants to keep the plot moving. Well, we'll leave it up to damage calculation and see where everyone stands after the round. Oh, and two attacks per Pokemon is really helpful. *cough* Anyway, Turtwig charged in first, Biting down the star Pokemon once again. It started crying almost immediately, putting your turtle on an even bigger guilt trip. This time, his special defense was lowered significantly. Clavier backed off and the waterworks stopped, for the moment. Sonata moved in second, pouncing on Twinkel with a vengence. She dug deep with her teeth, trying to do as much damage as possible. Fake Tears started falling again, but it was a little too late. The damage was done and Sonata's ruthlessness was just enough to knock out the baby star Pokemon. As an added bonus, she finally completed the tutor of Bite. Now, here lies a cross-roads of sorts. First, you have the option of catching Twinkel or not, that is purely your choice and has no effect on the grander scheme of things. Your actual choices are to take this opportunity to head back to the Pokemon Center and heal, potentially missing your chance at seeing Lapras or exploring the cave. Or, you can head right into the cave now that the tide is sufficiently low enough for you to explore. If you do take the later route and drop into the cave from above, you will find a moderately claustrophobic environment, about nine feet high and wide with a general arc to the ceiling and a sandy floor. One direction will lead out while the other takes you deeper into the darkness. This is where I will leave you for now and choose wisely. Turtwig gained 5.6 and grew to Lv. 10Shinx gained 8.3 and grew to Lv. 8Twinkel gained 7.5

“Okay, now for the catch~” Aquos said, rummaging around in her waist pouch. From it, she brought out a small Pokéball, which she then enlarged into its proper size. As Sonata and Clavier returned to flank her, she threw the Pokéball towards the knocked out Twinkel, hoping to catch it and be able to finally move on. The tide wasn’t going to be waiting for her, and with that said, she had to take a chance by not going to the Pokémon Center for a quick heal. Sonata curled up into a ball, licking one of her paws. Deep down, however, she was feeling a tad scared – Bite was a powerful attack to have and to use it to hurt … despite it being for the greater good, she felt as if she was better cheering from the sidelines. Clavier was once again the leader of the team; the turtle Pokémon approached the Shinx and nudged her lightly, yet comfortingly. Aquos glanced at her two Pokémon, then back at the star-like Pokémon. If the initial capture attempt didn’t work out, she would then choose to hurl another Pokéball at the Twinkel until it was caught, before picking up any Pokéballs that were left on the ground. Once that was done and over with, she motioned to her Pokémon partners. Clavier and Sonata were then placed back into their Pokéballs as she readied herself for the drop. Nothing better than going straight into the action, right? The girl approached the gaping hole, taking a deep breath, then took off from her current location to drop onto the sandy floors. |

The Pokeball sailed through the sky finally landing on Twinkel. It opened and drew the star inside with a red light. The ball landed on the ground and shook a few times before it chimed to indicate the Pokemon was captured. With that, the ball disappeared or rather was teleported to the storage system since you already have 5 Pokemon and an egg. If you're wondering about the egg, it will take a while to hatch yet. Now then, you recalled your two Pokemon and proceeded to drop into the cave below. Like I said before, it was closed, cramped and dark. You walked along slowly until your eyes finally adjusted to the light or lack there of. There wasn't much to see until you noticed an intersection. A path cut off to the left and the right but still angled back toward the beach. This could be tricky and you certainly don't want to pick the wrong path. Each one looked just as dark and inviting as the others except the outer ones appeared to have smaller openings. You didn't have long to decide on a path before something else showed up. A Tezeh emerged from the center pathway and looked at you blankly, almost a "what are you doing here" look. However, he took a look at the Pokeballs at your side and assumed a fighting stance. Apparently, he wants to fight you. Unfortunately, I don't have much else to give you this time; however, there is now a time limit of 15 refs (including this one) until the water level rises. Ugh, what a predicament to be in! The girl glanced over the scene, and noticed the water level rising. Damn, this didn't look good ... if everything was slowed down by either her or her Pokemon, things would indeed start to get sticky. None of her Pokemon were water-ready, and Sonata was definitely out of the question. After all, she didn't need her Shinx to have wet fur; that could get annoying. Requiem was nursing a broken leg and Clavier was probably tired out. He needed the rest to recover some energy, but without a Pokemon Center he wasn't going to get far. All Aquos could do was push on the best she could and hope that her Pokemon could weather this quest for a Lapras. The rare Pokemon had better be worth it after all this trouble she had gone through! "Okay ... Canon, Sonata," she called, releasing both bear and cub from their Pokeballs. "Leer and Fury Swipes, Canon; Sonata, Tackle it after Canon finishes his attack," she continued, folding her arms. The combination attack would hopefully knock the Tezeh back after the combo, but Aquos noticed that it was most definitely a rock-like Pokemon and carried a certain degree of weight. Two light Pokemon like Canon and Sonata might not necessarily be able to knock it back so they could gain some ground. But the thing that kept her going was hope. And she was going to do just that - hope that her Pokemon would be able to do their best in this fight. Canon: Leer + Fury Swipes Sonata: Tackle after Canon attacks |

It is true that Tezeh is a rock type, but it seems that you missed that it is a ghost type too. It was kinda given away by the fact that it has a gaseous substance keeping the rocks together, but I digress. To be honest, you would probably be better off trying to dominate him like you did with Twinkel. Time is of the essence and you can't afford to waste it on this ghoul. Tezeh took the first round advantage and went right on the offensive by using Night Shade on Shinx. Fortunately, Canon jumped in front of her and took the hit, but he's a normal type and couldn't be effected. He responded with an attack of his own, Leer. The glare dropped the ghost's defense by a level. Sonata then charged in with a Tackle, but just kind of phased through. It gave her an icky feeling all over her body which Tezeh took advantage of by attempting to use a Rock Blast. Canon intervened once more by using Fury Swipes. It did nothing but serve to distract Tezeh and preoccupy him from attacking. Well, that certainly could have been better, but it could have also been much worse. What will you do now? Frankly, it looked more like poisonous gas to Aquos than anything in the darkness, but after what happened, she had a firm grip on reality once again. The ghost-and-rock combination wasn't too deadly, and when there was a ghost-type, there was a need for attacking. Night Slash would have been good to use, but taxing Requiem further wouldn't be a wise choice now. Instead, she still had Bite on her side ... which should suffice. However, Rock Blast could indeed, pose a problem. "Canon, Sonata! Lick and Bite twice respectively," she stated. She didn't like the look of the water rising. If it went higher and higher, she'd still survive, but lose her chance to get Lapras. It was a risky situation where the sea had nothing to lose, but she, quite a lot. Both bear and cub splashed through the water, trying to get to Tezeh. The faster this match was over with, the better ... Canon - Lick x2 Sonata - Bite x2 |

Overlord of Blowing $hit Up

Well, hi there! Haven't seen me here since this whole ordeal started, huh? I'll be filling in for Racer today, he's a bit... tied up at the moment. But since I'm the original crafter of this plot, things should go out fine. And hell, I'll even do this in Racer's style, so you won't even tell the difference! Well, this moderately powerful ghost was standing in your way, and time was against you for sure. When the tide comes rolling back in, this place'll act like a funnel for the incoming water, blasting you like a rocket to wherever it lets out. And by the time the next low tide rolls around, the potential Lapras may have decided to go elsewhere for a nesting area. So, you may want to use a trainer's hidden weapon to get things going a bit faster: The triple move combo. Three moves in the same time span, if they're all powerful and super effective, and from two different Pokemon, the battle should be over before you could blink an eye. But for now, there's this turn to deal with.. Tezeh started off the same as last time, trying to get in a hit on Shinx with a Night Shade. Like any good teammate, Teddiursa jumped in to nullify the attack. Was this ghost stupid....? Or maybe.... a genius... Tezeh gave off an eerie laugh as the black thunderbolts of Night Shade faded. It's other arm was already raised, and now pointed at the small bear. Uh oh... It tricked the teddy into taking the hit for it's friend, so that the ghost golem could get it with a better shot of Rock Blast... Yikes. Canon had other plans, though. Jumping fast, it clung onto the ghost's partially solid arm, knocking it's aim off and causing the Rock Blast to hit into the floor beside Shinx. The Tezeh flailed it's arms to try to free itself, but Teddiursa held strong. It then delivered it's two Lick attacks, however none of them causing the ever so loved Paralysis. As the bear was flung from the damaged arm, Shinx jumped up and sunk darkened fangs into them. In a gnawing motion, it released and held tight in another Bite, causing the ghost to echo it's cry throughout the cave. If anything was sleeping... they were now awake. Doesn't really mean anything for you plot wise, but whatevs, right? Teddiursa had taken some damage from the fall, but Tezeh took seven better damage. Although, you'll have to do better then that next turn if you want to get past this. That ghost looks pretty pissed... Oh yeah! It looks so seamless, even she couldn't tell the difference! Standing up as she glanced at the sky, Aquos realized that this was the time for her to pull out what was needed, even Requiem if the time called for it. As long as she could get rid of the Tezeh that was in her way ... speaking of which, was getting a little annoying on the side. She sure as hell didn't want to drown in the cavern with the rest of her Pokemon. Turning to Canon and Sonata, she realized that they weren't going to be able to hold that much longer. Canon's intelligence wasn't holding up amazingly either, which proved that leadership of the team was undoubtedly Clavier's. Canon was good, but only good at following orders. Which she was going to give, by the way ... "Canon!" she called out, the bear Pokemon turning to face her. He looked slightly fatigued, but this battle was the only thing between rest and relaxation for the Teddiursa. "Lick thrice, and as for you, Sonata ... I want you to use Bite as many times as you can on the Tezeh," she finished off, waiting for her Pokemon to use their moves on the foe. If everything went along to plan, she should have some damage done ... of course, her Pokemon wouldn't be exempt from blows either. Who knows what the Tezeh was planning behind that rocky head of his. Rock Blast was a deadly move, and it had proven that it definitely was deadly, just from the damage Canon and Sonata had sustained. The Shinx barked once, gathering her courage. She was by nature timid and reluctant to fight, but she too, had noticed the water level rising. She did not want to share a watery death with her team members, so there was nothing else to do but fight on. She made a wild dash for her target; Canon followed behind her silently, always on the ready in case he needed to tank a hit for Sonata. Naturally, his health might not allow it ... all he, and the rest of his team, was hope that they were faster than the opponent a level or two higher than them. Canon ~ Lick x3 Sonata ~ Bite x3 |
