Aquos's Journey

If there was something the murkrow and his trainer couldn't take away, it probably was Intimidate. That alone ensured that the bird wasn't dealing the maximum amount of damage that it could, and for that, Aquos was partially thankful. Her azure eyes scanned the battlefield; at the moment, there really wasn't anything that she could use to her - or Sonata's advantage. Once again, it seemed that brute force was going to be the way to go ... "Sonata," she called and the luxio returned to her side. Gently, the girl ran a hand down the adolescent lion's neck and Sonata purred in return.

They were currently holding the lead in the battle. Aquos had a few options to her - Attract, an ice-typed Hidden Power, or the ever-useful Spark. From her stroking of Sonata, she returned to a position where she had her arms crossed. "Sonata, let's not give up. Head in with a Leer and start charging your electricity for a Spark attack." It was back to the same strategy; it had served her well so far, and what was not broken shouldn't be fixed.

Slowly, the girl's eyes fell on the bird pokemon. If only she could somehow take off its wings and render it useless! Yet, knowing Sonata, she would be against any real bodily harm to the murkrow ... "Once you're done with Spark, try to catch one of its wings with a Bite; if he's too far away, Hidden Power." That should take care of it for this round; even if the bird didn't have his flight taken away from him, he'd still be running around with a good amount of damage on his count.

Leer + Spark, Bite if murkrow comes close enough to attack his wing / Hidden Power if murkrow is far

So it seemed that you had the advantage here, or at least in the terms of health. But soon the man's eyes narrowed, aiming down on the Luxio and gathering a plan or two in his head to try and help Murkrow. His look seemed to boost the bird's ego, knowing that the Trainer was behind him all the way. And for Luxio, well, I doubt it mattered much as she was a fighter. As the two pokemon started having a stare off, it was a perfect time for the Leer; where Luxio's eyes glowed a reddish color, the bird suddenly squawked about in a circle, fussing over what had happened to him. Right after that, it took off, coming for your pokemon.

As it came close, an attack and an attack from Luxio seemed to clash. It seemed to be a Pursuit against a Spark, where the electric attack seemed to over power the bird and send it backwards. The body skid along the ground, finally stopping mid-way, where it was just reasonable for a Hidden Power instead of a Bite, which wouldn't take out nearly as much as a full potential.

It seemed to be something that ended quickly, something that ended for the better for you. Murkrow fainted. Its exhausted body laid still, but not stiff and dead. The man brought a pokeball up to chest level, to extend his hand out and return the bird to a pokemon. His other hand already had the next pokemon he was going to use. As he tossed it in front of him, it revealed a Magnemite. An electric type that Luxio might have a little problem with if she was to use her native element. Though it gave you a vibe as if it was considerably weaker, maybe hatching a plan for training a younger pokemon?

"Great job!"

Aquos flashed her luxio a big smile. Sonata was good at fighting, but it was a pity how she didn't quite like to fight. It was all good, though - everyone, pokemon included, was allowed to have their own opinions of how things were supposed to be. If Sonata wasn't keen on fighting, the girl knew she was in no place to change her partner's thoughts. "That'll be it for now ... you did really awesome, Sonata," she commented, and the blue-furred lion smiled, albeit slightly. "Take a break." She ruffled the luxio's fur slightly, and Sonata giggled under her breath.

Next up was a magnemite. It was a tad weaker than the murkrow, setting up further options for the girl. Sending out Cadence was the first thing on Aquos's mind, but she stopped herself before she sent out the charmeleon. There were other options present, namely Ryuuza. "Hey," she addressed the bagon as soon as he was released from the captures of his pokeball. "You up for a fight against that magnemite?"

The bagon nodded in a serious manner. He was a creature equipped with a Hidden Power with fire typing, which then led to the tutoring of Ember and subsequently Fire Fang. By nature, he was playful like most young pokemon - he generally fought together with Accelerando, another dragon on Aquos's team, but if he was going to fight alone this time ... it was just like before, wasn't it? "G-gon!" cried Ryuuza as he stomped on the ground with a firm nod.

"Hee~" giggled Aquos. "You'll want to be a little careful with the magnemite. I think it's got a ranged attack or some stat-lowering moves. Let's start off with a Rage, then close in with a Fire Fang!"

The idea was mostly to gauge the capability of the magnemite. Rage was to further boost the power of Fire Fang if the magnemite chose to attack Ryuuza. And then with his increased attack, Fire Fang should be able to deal more damage.

As the petit dragon was revealed from the lightning bolt-like action of the light, his face sort of distorted. He wasn't a newbie at battles, so he knew Bagon could be troublesome if he knew the right moves. His suspicion was confirmed when he over heard some of your last command. The Magnemite floated in mid-air, charging up some electric move, or just boasting at his power. As it seemed to be staring only at Bagon with it's single eye. The cyclops electric type seemed to taunt Bagon with his floating dance, where when the dragon went into his rage, there was nothing to stop either of them. The Metal Sound from crashing over him, or the fit unleashed upon the floating mass.

"Rage? Not even worth it." The man taunted verbally, trying to get you angry as he shot down your tactics. The cyclops remained in the air, watching down on Bagon as the next set of commands were giving. As it seemed, Magnemite would be attacking as Bagon did, again. But it came a little later. See, the man was eyeing you and eyeing the Bagon, It took a while but the attacks finally happened. As the Magnemite swooped in, Bagon gave him a nice Fire Fang, burning the steel around his body to find his element super effective. The only probably was Magnemite's point blank Thundershock. It may have been a critical to it, but Ryuuza shook it off as if it was a normal hit. "Magnemite, don't forget your orders!" Oh, that's right. Spinning around after being released from your dragon's clutch, the steel type blasted your pokemon with a Supersonic! Confusion was a—I just won't finish my sentence. The only other thing you got out of this round was a dragon not hitting itself.

Would Ryuuza be able to hold out long enough for the confusion to wear off? Aquos didn't know. A confused dragon was just about as dangerous as a normal one, but this time, it had the chance to hurt itself. Considering how relatively new he was to her team, she wasn't quite sure of his personality. But she was, indeed, sure that he had his own individuality and take on situations. She exhaled and glanced at the magnemite, then back at her bagon. Could he get in a Hidden Power or a Fire Fang for some effective damage without hurting himself? Even if he didn't, the magnet pokémon would surely land a hit on him regardless.

Decisions, decisions. The girl rested a hand on her chin as she thought out her moves some more. Perhaps she could withdraw Ryuuza for Maestro or someone else. "Ryuuza, try a Focus to your special defense. Then go for a Fire Fang!" It was a risky tactic, but she couldn't be that unlucky and have Ryuuza hit himself out of confusion twice ... but then again, the blows would make him shake off the confusion. Slightly nervous, she tucked her hands into her pockets and watched the battle unfold.

And when she was nervous, she gambled with her money and bought a couple lottery tickets.

The mysterious man seemed to have a slight smirk on his face. It was probably from getting your dragon confused, though he knew that with the resistance it had to electric types, the battle wouldn't go too far into his favor. While he looked on, he spoke to the Magnemite. Orders that you might not even worry about, but then again, you may because of the drop in special defense the young Bagon has. As the steel ball hovered in the air, it fired off another Metal Sound that seemed to travel in a swift motion. As the waves of sound brushed over Bagon, it cringed. Even being confused, it could feel its states decreasing as if it was stung by a bee.

A permanent drop was bad, and with Focus, Bagon could still hit himself. The risk was coming; it was like playing Russian Roulette without the factor of a quick death. As Bagon seemed to step forward, readying himself for something, it seemed as if he was standing stiff. A moment later brought about him slapping himself in the face. He failed to use Focus, and hit himself in confusion. It was a bad round for you, already having part of the attack order be messed up. But it wasn't over! No, Bagon could still make his next move hit. Watch out for the Magnemite.

As if a cool action scene was about to unfold, Bagon and Magnemite went for each other at the same time. Clashing wasn't going to be fun, but it seemed Bagon took the first leap, landing him on top of the steel ball. His fangs, hot like the Summer's Sun, burned and scorched the metal coating of the Magnemite, while the ball retaliated with a mean Thundershock. It seemed to be critical, being in the mouth of the Bagon. However, the Fire Fang was also a critical, having engulfed the Magnemite!

"Not bad." The man commented, seeing how the Bagon stayed caught up with the Magnemite. But the next round seemed to be what would decide it all. Hopefully the confused ailment on Bagon could disappearing, leaving the dragon to have an upper edge. Do not forget, though, that the man has at least one more pokemon by his side.

Things went considerably well, despite her bagon's confusion and all. The shock that had landed caused a lot more damage than the girl had hoped as she watched the health bars on her pokétech fluctuate according to the damage taken. Ryuuza was pretty much in the red now ... but the magnemite was nearing that state as well. Switching out and then in would mean that Ryuuza would have his confusion cured, but where would that leave him? Fainted, most likely. Aquos nodded to herself; this was an all-or-nothing situation. Might as well knock out the magnemite and have a fresh pokémon for the next round.

"Ryuuza, snap out of it!" she called, "And if you can hear me, keep your distance and use Hidden Power!" The dragon pokémon, however, seemed rather dazed. He shook his head and glanced back at Aquos for a moment, but it was clear from his eyes that he was not his usual self. What were the chances of him snapping out of it, the trainer wondered. It hadn't been long since he'd had this affliction ... the chances weren't that high, after all.

Ryuuza clutched his head and stared at Aquos, then at the magnemite. The noise of the crowd was getting to him ... how annoying. He'd got this draconic stuff within him, and he'd got the power to back it up. The question was ... what the heck was he supposed to do? Ryuuza snarled.

There wasn't much to say, or to do for the matter. The man only had instructions to spit out, hoping that the Magnemite was the first attacker. The odds looked against you, and as time boiled down, even my anxiety to see who wins was rising. The Bagon had been cringing, almost about to burst with his inner emotions. The man seen this, realizing that the Magnemite might lose. However, he had another pokemon lined up, one that your Bagon would not be able to handle.

The action was about to go down! Bagon, having so much swirling in his head, looked as if he'd burst with power and finish the Magnemite off. On the flip side, the Magnemite had a zipping sound happening around him, before you seen sparks start spreading around his magnet-like limbs. Both ready to attack, but who knows what would happen. As it seemed, Bagon went first. His built up energy had helped get him past the confusion for this time around, making those orbs of energy and firing them in a swift move. The orbs collided with the steel type, only making it fall for a few seconds. This would be a perfect time for Bagon to attack again, but a pause to his tracks had halted it. Magnemite, taking advantage, and hearing his trainer in the background, lit up with sparks and electricity flew into Bagon.

The Magnemite was still standing, and if only Bagon got in the one Hidden Power. In the time between his first and second, unfortunately, Magnemite was able to hit him with a Thundershock. The move came out as strong, with a mix of the special defense down, a level gap, and the flux of power a move can take. It was definitely unfortunate, but your victory wasn't totally out of place. With the round over, the steel ball seemed to drop like a dead fly, making a small crater in the stage. The burn ailment had rushed over him, fainting him in time. Both pokemon went down this round, and the man only had one left. But so did you.

"This is the last pokemon for each of us. Go, Mismagius!"

Mismagius, an evolved pokemon. Aquos, a trainer with only one evolved pokemon. After the last round which ended in Ryuuza fainting, the girl was determined to not let something like that repeat itself. At least Ryuuza tried his best, and wasn't prideful enough like Requiem to mind losing ... Quietly, she eyed the mismagius. What could she pit against it? She rummaged around within her waist pouch, then took out a pokeball. With Bite and a dark-typed Hidden Power, Clavier could prove useful, though he wasn't going to be slicing mountains with his power. She took a deep breath and clicked the button upon the face of the device.

In a flash of light, the turtwig materialized in front of her and nodded. Aquos nodded back. A cursory glance at what the mismagius should know at its level told the girl that Clavier had better be careful lest he was subjected to confusion like Ryuuza. She couldn't really afford that happening again, since she had only one other option, and that was Sonata. "Okay, Clavier!" she said with a grin at her pokemon companion. The turtle stepped onto the battlefield and returned her grin with a smile of his own.

"Turt!"

Since there was no hint as to who was starting first, the girl decided to take the opportunity to do so. "Let's start off with a Growth. Keep an eye out for Confuse Ray; if it comes, use Withdraw and let it bounce off your shell. If it doesn't, stay your distance and use Hidden Power!" Aquos glanced at her pokemon. She had faith in him; he knew what to do and wasn't scared of opponents larger than him. He knew how to improvise too, but as to how effective that was varied from battle to battle. She remembered a time when it backfired, but it wasn't enough to warrant him from doing it at all.

The last round of this final round of a competition that was the final, so you hoped, event leading you to a prize that'd you'd really finally enjoy. Yes, I know a lot of "final" things. I can't stress it enough on how this is the end. You're doing good, so you got this. The mysterious man seemed to be staring at you through the rim of his hat. His face still concealed from your view, and a different vibe coming from him. Mismagius seemed to be attentive, hovering in the air waiting for her trainer's instructions, it seemed as if she was trying to taunt the Turtwig.

"Hey, girl, this has been exciting. Mismagius doesn't have any super effective moves, so this'll be really slow." The man lifted his head, enough for you to spot his pale skin and hairless chin. He didn't seem to be the sore loser type, not one hundred percent. But no one liked to lose and he slowly bit his bottom lip with nervousness. Mismagius was useless against Turtwig, and as he bit slightly harder, a growing hate for your team grew.

Clavier took a stance and started to glow a bit. His body seemed tougher after the faint glow that happened. It was Growth, working in his body and making him stronger in both physical and special attack! It might help with his next move, but what about the Mismagius? While the glow started around Turtwig, the ghost type took it as a start to what could be an attack. A Psywave was released, and it was a pretty good hit. The higher the level the ghost was, the worse it would get for you. Imagine if it had been a super effective move... Yeah, lets not.

To retaliate, Clavier struck back with a Hidden Power with some devastating power for the Mismagius. Being of the dark element, it would prove super effective. I think you just found the move you'll be spamming to win! But in return, Clavier caught another Psywave. Mismagius found the power within her to get such a spectacular blast. The wave seemed much bigger then before and hit Clavier past you, nearly off the stage. The crowd was in awe! Gasps became the new thing, and soon silence reigned.

"Mismagius, that was amazing!" The man lifted his head more, revealing a menacing smile. "Do that again, girl! Show them how powerful you are!" Mismagius stored up her power and unleashed it. The power of this one, her final one, and once again it proved to be completely overwhelming. The Turtwig literally flew off the stage and into a bush that had been neatly groomed this morning for the shop's decoration. Now it had a Turtwig silhouette.
