Derping... All Day, Every Day!

Millenia Town Vince sure had not expected Zangoose to know the move that would definitely defeat him quickly. Flamethrower. It wasn’t a move a lot of Zangoose knew, so he knew you had gotten your hands on a pretty good TM. Thus, this battle was over unless he could find a way to get rid of that Zangoose. Requiem opened its mouth and fired out a long stream of fire, which hit and brushed over Ivysaur. It took some time to recover, but Ivysaur seemed to be still in the battle. Vince used his Poketech, because he had been unsure of Zangoose’s abilities. When he found out it was just one, and what it was, he grimaced. Poison was one of his things, and Zangoose was immune to it. Great, Vince thought. He could still try putting the Zangoose to sleep. But it was too late once he got in the orders, Ivysaur had released a cloud of dust, but the Zangoose was using Flamethrower at it. Both hit their respective targets, though. The dust cloud just engulfed the cat-ferret pokemon from the side, and he hadn’t time to use Quick Attack and tail it out of there. ”Wow, this is not going good for us!” The trainer said, reviewing the field and seeing that already one of two of his pokemon had nearly been wiped out, cleaned from the field. Now that he seen Zangoose sleeping, it was all too good for him. ”Ivysaur, get at him with a Razor Leaf and Leech Seed!” Vince said, turning to Hoppip to see how she was handling things. What Vince seen was your lizard releasing a smoke that seemed focused on covering Hoppip, and did pretty good. The small pokemon had been covered, and the surrounding space around her as well. But you didn’t know something that would be good for Hoppip, in a way. She has Energy Ball, and knew where Cadence was. Taking her chances, an Energy flew in and hit Cadence in the torso! It didn’t seem to do as much as that side wanted, but Cadence quickly caught his breath. Using Rock Slide, the Hoppip was hit, but when it came back, she moved out of the way beforehand to evade. She knew her Energy Ball might not hit, so she didn’t choose to continue. But the smoke started to clear a little. ”Not bad.” Vince said, slightly trying to convince himself internally that he had a chance. It was a stroke of bad luck for Aquos that Requiem had fallen asleep. Knowing him, he would be terribly grumpy when he woke up - and woe betide anyone who crossed his path when he was angered. Proud as he was, it was a rather well-known fact that the Zangoose couldn't and wouldn't stand losing to anyone or anything. Sighing, Aquos simply watched on as Cadence grappled with his side of the battle. It wasn't entirely good luck, for the Charmander was buffeted by a ball of swirling energy. Thankfully, being a fire-type by nature, Cadence wasn't too hurt by the energy attack. Now, what to do next? With Requiem out for the count, it was hard enough to decide what to do next, and so, she started with the Charmander. "Cadence, before the Ivysaur reaps too much from the Leech Seed, use several Embers on it and try to knock it out," she said, deciding to take care of one threat and leave the Hoppip alone for a while. It wasn't too difficult to predict the outcome - whether the embers missed or hit, some of them were bound to connect and eventually knock out the plant Pokemon. What was more difficult was waking Requiem - and the girl did not have an item to wake her Pokemon up, much less rely on a radio broadcasting a song from a Pokeflute. "Don't worry too much about the Hoppip, but if you have a move left, use a Rock Slide on the Hoppip, then go ahead and try to wake Requiem." Her eyes fell on the sleeping Zangoose. "Requiem, wake up!" she yelled, resisting the urge to jump into the field and kick him awake - but then she'd be at the mercy of his claws, which she didn't really want. Cadence: Ember x3 (if Ivysaur is knocked out before x3 are used up, use Rock Slide on Hoppip) |

Millenia Town Vince cocked an eyebrow, and raised his cheek a little. It wasn’t every day that he was doing this bad. By what he thought was sheer luck, that you had a Charmander. The lizard was strong against Ivysaur, and he wished he had another pokemon to help that. His stressed showed on his face, as drops of sweat gentle rolled over his brows, his nose, and even his lip. His hands seemed to roughen up his green hair, which now looked like he may have taken a nap and gotten bed head hair. All the same, he had to press on and that he would. ”Ivysaur, let him have it!” Vince called out, seeing the Ivysaur act on command, darting towards the lizard. The first ember was fired, and boy did Vince shiver. But he had nothing to worry about this time around! Ivysaur was focused more than ever, and even feeling a little extra juice. It got too close, and got Charmander with a weak Strike to the gut before taking an Ember. ”That a boy!” Vince cheered, because Ivysaur had found the way to stay in the game. A quick twist and Ivysaur got Charmander with a heavier blow. The exchange of blows seemed to be like a battle scene from a movie, but your Charmander, Cadence, was one step away from winning. Fire swirled around his lips, before they launched out and cooked Ivysaur. Vince already had the pokeball in his hand, taking Ivysaur away from the fight. You talking to the Zangoose seemed to help a little, but it was mostly left alone. No attacks to help it wake up, but just your voice. It did okay, but you had one more thing to worry about. That’s right; the Hoppip trying stuff. It started to shake, wiggle, and bounce around until purple-like clouds came from it, wrapping Cadence in a world of pain. He was poisoned, and right off the bat! Coughing, choking, and feeling the growing vines of illness, the Charmander had nothing to do to defend himself, and instead of assaulting him, the Hoppip used Synthesis, seeing as it was a good day outside. Its health seemed to be as if it never got hit before! You Lv.16 40 / 57 | 74%Sleep | 40% to Wake Up Lv.14 30 / 53 | 68%-2 HP | Poison Enemy Lv.12 49 / 49 | 87%Energy Ball -1 Accuracy |

It was lucky for Aquos that Cadence's efforts was not in vain, for he had knocked out the Ivysaur. However, it seemed that he hadn't escaped unscathed - he was poisoned, and a solid two hit-points were being slashed off his health every turn it took for Requiem to awake. Needless to say, it was all the more pressing for the girl to ensure that the Zangoose awoke as soon as possible. She turned to the white-furred Pokemon, yelling out at him. "Requiem, get up already~!" she called, but not really placing much hope into the creature awaking. After all, it wasn't like he had shown signs of stirring naturally; for now, she decided to focus on the Charmander. With the Hoppip being able to recover health, it became all the more pressing to knock it out as soon as possible. Glancing at the list of attacks that Cadence knew on her Poketech, Aquos quickly formulated a plan that wouldn't kill either of her Pokemon, and perhaps be able to stall for enough time for Requiem to awake. "Smokescreen, twice, then get in there with an Ember," said the girl, nodding at the Charmander. The plan was simple. A double Smokescreen should make the Hoppip's accuracy take a further dip, while the Ember attack would ensure that they continued dealing damage this turn. She wasn't hoping for much, but just for Requiem to awake so the option of using the more powerful Flamethrower would open up. Smokescreen x2, Ember |

Millenia Town Zangoose seemed like he would never wake up. But he started to twitch, and it became more and more. Vince's face grimaced. Not only would Charmander have an upper hand with Hoppip, but with Zangoose around it could all go faster. Surely, he had hopes of standing out as long as possible with the noted defeat in his head. He whispered stuff to Hoppip, and he examined Zangoose. Charmander stepped up, spraying out and covering the field with a dark smoke. His Smokescreen kept up, and became very dense. In this type of smoke, Hoppip really wouldn't be able to see. But it also seemed to alert Requiem somehow, waking up the Zangoose after it. "Hoppip, remember what I said. Keep moving around!" Vince called out. However, it only alerted Charmander. The Ember ripped through the smoke, but missed. Hoppip came into the petit clearing, firing off an Energy Ball that still missed. The smoke surrounded her too quickly for an accurate aim. "Oh dear." Vince said, sighing. Not only did he get lucky with having the Ember miss, but the unfortunate turn that his pokemon's attack missed. On top of it all, Zangoose would be around to finish Hoppip off. Thankfully, Requiem had woken up. Despite the previous setbacks, they were more than ready to get going again. With Hoppip's accuracy down three notches, Aquos was rather sure that they were going to have a much easier time than before. It would be the same plans all over again. Naturally, they'd start off with Smokescreen to cloud the Hoppip's accuracy further, then follow up with a fire attack from Cadence. The girl glanced at both her Pokemon as they returned to her side, first at the reptile then at the mongoose Pokemon. "Cadence, I want you to start off with a Smokescreen." The Charmander nodded calmly; it would be the same thing all over again, with him handling the defense while Requiem was on offense. "Requiem, Flamethrower. Get two in, we need to finish this Hoppip ..." He glanced at the girl, smiling slightly. "If you need to do it, three is just as fine." It was vital to not let the plant Pokemon have a chance to use Synthesis - it would be extremely detrimental to their side, and Cadence was a ticking bomb, for he was poisoned. "Then throw two Embers or something at it, Cadence. We're finishing this round off." With a nod, the Charmander went back to the pitch, taking a deep breath while gathering flames in his mouth. The Zangoose stretched out behind the reptile - he was so much taller - and took a deep breath as well. This fight was going to be over ... hopefully. Cadence: Smokescreen, Ember x2 Requiem: Flamethrower x3 |

Millenia Town Vince was in a losing battle, and it would only be a matter of time before his Hoppip was defeated. He watched one, sweat beads rolling over his eyebrows from the top of his forehead. He green hair became moist. This was a tough battle for him to win, and he didn't like that. A smoke started to fill around Hoppip, making her harder to see, but also shrouding her view, as well. That was when the attacks started to fly. Zangoose fired off a Flamethrower, while Charmander had an Ember going!
The round ended, and you were escorted to the Pokemon Center. Not much was said, but Vince gave you a congrats hand-shake. The Nurse healed you up immediately, and sent you on your way. Back at the stage, you watched as a few other participates battled. Wins and loses, and you examined everything going on. Your next match was revealed to you early; a young man stepped forward to you, and said one word. That being: 'Fire'! When your turn came up, you went up to see a young man, much like the one who told you want type it would be. He had hair that stuck up like a tiny flame, and an outfit like a waiter. His pale face showed a smirk as he tossed up two pokeballs. A Slugma and Combusken were revealed. "Here are the pokemon you'll be fighting." The Slugma wasn't tall at all, but the Combusken looked like a fighter, and one that would be tougher then Vince's pokemon. Though, only the chicken-like one seemed to be tougher... as the gap between them shown through appearance. Level 19 male Level 11

After healing, Aquos went back to the tournament area. Her next opponent was to use fire-type Pokémon; it was an arrangement that the girl could live with. However, the level discrepancy between the Combusken and her Elegy was something of a problem. She was silent for moment, but offered the (presumed) waiter a smile as she picked her Pokémon. Once again, it was Cadence and Requiem that were sent into battle. She allowed herself a moment of thought before coming up with a plan. The Combusken was a hazard to Requiem, but sadly, the Zangoose was her only means of taking it down reliably. “Requiem, I’d like you to use Hidden Power on the chicken, but dodge away with Quick Attack if he comes at you with Double Kick,” said Aquos. “Cadence, use Smokescreen once. Make sure it spreads around so both the Slugma and Combusken are affected. Next, follow up with a Rock Slide – but if you see any one of your opponents coming with a physical move, intercept them with Counter.” The Charmander nodded; it was a little hard to digest, but after the Smokescreen he should have ample time to get into the next part of the plan. The Slugma was hard to ignore; despite it being of a lower level than the both of them, it was not going to be easy with the strong bird Pokémon lurking around. This round was completely different from the previous round where the two of them had the advantage of fire moves against grass-typed Pokémon. Cadence: Smokescreen [AoE], Rock Slide/Counter (depending on whether physical moves are used, if so, intercept and use Counter) Requiem: Hidden Power x2 [Combusken], Quick Attack [dodge Double Kick] |

Millenia Town The battle was just starting, and already you were sending out commands. The guy was young, perhaps a little older then you. He ran a hand through his hair, with the flame-like do returning to normal right after. Combusken and Slugma looked as the Charmander released a Smokescreen. Both were slow, not reacting in time and being engulfed with a black smoke. The guy frowned at that, but it soon turned to a normal, but small smirk. Combusken rushed out of the smoke, aiming for the Zangoose. It was only met by a powerful Hidden Power; orbs flying towards it, knocking it in the face. Another one followed, stacking the damage on. So much that it seemed to help in a critical. But it wasn't another to take it down, not just yet. Slugma moved in, slower then the chick, but tried his best. Getting close to Charmander, he found a rock and gave it a toss. Wasn't bigger then Slugma himself, hell, not even bigger then Charmander head--really. It still would have a bad effect, and luckily the Charmander had luck on its side; a red glow coming around it, while the rock hit it bounced back with twice as much speed! The Slugma was hit and nearly flipped over!! A snort from the slug made it clear that it was having pain and gave up on trying again. But the Combusken tried a Double Kick, just as you seemed to guessed. Zangoose knew what to do, especially with your help; a Quick Attack made him move around to quickly and Combusken landed with no hit. "Whoa! You're good. Your pokemon are well trained. "Just luck, I suppose," Aquos shot back, azure eyes calmly moving over her opponent's face and flame-colored hair. "Though I'd take your compliment and run with it; thanks~!" Smirking, she turned to the battle readings: she currently was still holding the upper hand against her opponent, and with some luck, they should be able to take down the Combusken without too much trouble. Perhaps some more of the same tactics were in order, she reckoned as the current turn drew to a close with Requiem avoiding the Double Kick from the bird Pokemon. "Requiem, get in there with a Hidden Power on the chicken to finish it off; use a second if you need to. If it goes down, Swords Dance and Fury Swipes on the Slugma. Scratch the Swords Dance if you can't fit it in." It was a long order, but it should suffice to take down the half-fighting Pokemon. Should. Aquos was doubting her current streak of luck; anything good that happened to her was apt to go awry in just a matter of seconds. Split-seconds, even. Brushing her blue hair backwards and at the same time pushing aside her stray thoughts, her gaze focused on her Charmander. "I guess once again you're on defense, Cadence. You need to intercept with Counter if the Combusken tries to pull off a Double Kick or the slug tries something funny, but if you're all clear with the Combusken, go for a Rock Slide. I'm sure you can do this~" Requiem nodded in tandem with the reptile. They'd ride their success and get rid of the chicken for this turn and hopefully deal some good damage to the Slugma as well. If not ... it was just as good. One foe down was better than none, after all. Cadence: Counter (if physical moves are used), if not Rock Slide x2 on Slugma Requiem: Hidden Power (1 or 2) [Combusken], Swords Dance + Fury Swipes (if one HP is used) / Fury Swipes (if two HP's are used) |

Millenia Town The Trainer opposing you seemed to show some concern, realizing how low Combusken's health or energy must be. Whichever it was, the fatigue on the chicken-like fighter was clear. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before you took it out. Slugma seemed to be, relatively, fine in this battle thus far. As the boy went to say commands, he found your Zangoose charging orbs already. "Dodge!" Is all that came out of his mouth as the orbs shot out. Combusken was a little large, so two orbs grazed him--enough to hurt him to the point of fainting. As the body fell to the floor, Slugma's eyes as well as the Trainer's eyes widened. They were one step closer to losing. In return, Zangoose took initiative and got right on with the Sword Dance. The Charmander wanted to continue having some part in the entire round, so it started off with a Rock Slide before Requiem could use Fury Swipes. The rock it picked and tossed was good, nailing the fiery slug to the floor at the time. "At the time" because his body allowed him to easily get out of the fallen rock, where he took necessary precaution and use a quick Harden. Luckily, it was just before the assault of Fury Swipes. It hit for an amazing four times, knocking the Slugma's life low enough to have Charmander's second Rock Slide finish it off for good. The battle was over and it was an intense one for sure. Waiting for the pokemon to be healed wasn't anything special, but some people examined you, giggled, whispered, and even waved. The attention was good or bad, depending on how you felt. A little bell went off, alerting you and turning you on instinct. Your pokemon were healed and everyone roared in sync as they wished you good luck in the next fight. The announcer was on stage with a slightly concerned face. He glanced over you and seemed to lock his eyes on another individual deeper in the crowd where you couldn't get a look. The man was holding a microphone, but took his time before speaking. "Ladies and gentlemen. There has been a little twist of events. This was suppose to go on for another two, maybe three rounds. Instead we're going to skip right to the finale. That you ask," He beckoned for the two he gazed at to come up, meaning you and the other one. "These two contestants will fight each other. It was awesome. What was? Everything. Cadence had evolved and Requiem had gotten stronger after the match; she was now a proud owner of a charmeleon. Aquos went back to the pokemon center to heal her pokemon, and at the center, she was the unwilling center of attention. Apparently the tournament had been broadcast on television; even the nurse knew who she was and how she was now in the finals. Weakly, she had smiled at the lady as she handed her pokemon over to be healed. Talk about awkward ... she thought to herself. She had never intended to be in the spotlight, tempting as it might have been. However, the atmosphere soon got to her and she was smiling at everyone who waved at her, but she hadn't the courage to wave back. Requiem generally would stare at the rest of them, but this time, he was in his pokeball. Instead at her side was her luxio, Sonata. Her new opponent had a murkrow; instead of the double battles she had been fighting through, it appeared to be a single battle. Sonata was an electric pokemon, and the crow was a part-flying creature. Perfect. "Sonata, we're going to beat the crap out of the murkrow ... he doesn't deserve a Dusk Stone. He could have the TM," smirked Aquos as she nodded at the electric pokemon. Reluctantly, Sonata nodded back. She was hesitant, but it wasn't up to her to judge who deserved or did not deserve something. "We'll go for a Leer, then Spark. If he comes down close to attack, Headbutt!" (Early Afternoon); Millenia Town "Interesting." The guy in the trench coat said. His voice was low in volume, sort of deep in tune. His old fashion hat only made him a little more mysterious as you couldn't see his eyes, where he was looking, or what he may be feeling. Surely he knew that Luxio would be sort of strong against the bird, however maybe he counted on the Rivalry ability that had been potential to be a thorn in your side. "Take it down, Murkrow." He sounded as he was relaxed and as patient as could be. The bird took off. As the bird had taken off, it was a little too quick for Luxio. At first glance it was tiny, about a foot smaller then it had been. Still the Luxio was a little taken and hit by a Pursuit. Murkrow hadn't been as dumb as, say, a Bidoof. It knew that its stronger attacks (Wing Attack) would be useless against the electric type. However, it couldn't give up because of it. Returning to its Trainer's side, the Murkrow seemed to be taunting Luxio with a slight smile in its eyes. Speaking of eyes, Luxio used Leer to take away some of the birds defense; a move that could help you counteract the Rivalry ability. As Luxio started to shift into its next move, the Murkrow seemed to be distracted but hopped forward. Had it been ready to take off, and was trying to get a take off? Whatever it had been wanting, the Luxio took it by force with a Spark attack, damaging it for what the complications against you had allowed. It wasn't a weak attack against the bird, but nothing overwhelming as it took off in a flutter of wings and feathers floating throughout the air. It came back down towards you, meeting Luxio's hard skull and ending its round with a headache!

Super Luck would prove disruptive, Aquos figured halfway through the battle. Thankfully, the bird did not know any sort of move that had a heightened critical-hit ratio - that would have been incredibly dangerous for their side of the fight. With the murkrow having a notch taken down from his defense and attack, she figured that a second Leer to reduce his defense yet again was in order. The ability Rivalry that her luxio had wasn't going to stop her from winning this match ... both Sonata and her. "Sonata, we're almost even with them. Get in another Leer and Spark combo; if he comes with Pursuit or any sort of attack, Headbutt." The luxio nodded slowly. She wasn't keen on fighting the bird, especially if he had a pretty strong ability. The lion cub glanced at her trainer, who nodded at her with a certain degree of confidence. "Lux," she murmured softly to Aquos and stepped forth. She was going into this battle, right to the end. Even if she didn't really want to fight ... but Aquos's previous words rang within her mind. She had to fight to get stronger so she wouldn't have to fight anymore. That was the only thing that she knew, really. Aquos smiled slightly at Sonata. "Yup. We'll keep with this until the tide changes a little, then we'll switch it up." Leer + Spark; Headbutt if attacked |

Derping... All Day, Every Day!
|
(Mid Afternoon); Millenia Town A straight battle wouldn't give you much excitement. It didn't seem to be giving the crowd any either. As the early afternoon slowly shifted towards the middle of the afternoon, the battle progress rather slowly. Of course, you were aiming to take it down quicker and quicker as the rounds went but how much could you be going. As it seemed, I was right in saying you were trying to progress it quicker with Luxio's Leer; as the four-legged pokemon changed the color of its eyes from normal to a reddish glow, the bird fell into it once more. It squawked about knowing it was falling for things and being weakened in its defense. "I have a move to piss you off." The guy said, putting a firm hand on the Murkrow's hat-like head to calm it down. He kneeled and mumbled something to the bird, and it was, of course Haze. The bird started to exhale some sort of purple mist. It wasn't as thick as Smog, but it was a lighter purple and seemed to eliminate all of the status modifiers. That means that the Leers would mean nothing as of now, and the bird seemed to return to a more confident state of mind. "With the defense drop gone, you have to do it all over again." With a move like that, the stat dropping moves might be worthless after all and be a waste of time and energy. Luxio didn't seem to want and give up. The canine pokemon stared right at the Murkrow before making for it in a dash. The bird seemed a little helpless, seeing the Luxio start coming at it with electric sparking all over it. The impact sent Murkrow off stage, but not to the ground. It caught itself with flight and came back around to deliver a standard Strike to Luxio's back. It wasn't even enough damage to compare with what Luxio was dealing.
