You finally got away from those awful kidnappers! But where n the hell were you? You were in Alternia, silly! Millenia Town to be more precise. Millenia Town is a great place to go underground and start fresh. With all the opportunities here along with the great stability of the economy, you picked a pretty good place to escape. To the south was the sea filled with many wonders and pokemon and crazy things beyond imagination. But you just came from there, so I don't think you'd want to go back any time soon.

You didn't have much money, just what you could take before you made your sneaky uber-ninja escape, but that never stopped you before, did it? You had your charming looks and unassuming youth. With enough work you could pull off the heist of the century! With a team of con men and thieves and maybe they would make a movie out of it and you'd be rich! Filthy stinking rich!

...Or maybe not. Well, those big dreams may be a bit out there for you, but you were on a pokemon journey, and anything can happen! Even crazily unlikely things like a very attractive young gentleman bumping into you and dropping his stuff all over the ground. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there." Oh wow he was gorgeous. Maybe you could get him to show you around town. But you should probably help him pick up his stuff first. "My name is James. And what might yours be?" He took your hand and kissed the back of it, as if he was out of some movie.

As he bent over to kiss your hand, you noticed he had a pokeball clipped to his waist. He saw that you noticed and smiled. "I see you've noticed my pokemon. Come on out King." He released a male Nidoran onto the street in front of him. "I see you have a pokemon too. How about a friendly battle to break the ice? I'm not in any rush." Well? Would you battle this handsome young man and possibly make a new friend? Or would you just keep on walking, looking for a PC to alert your online friends of your condition? Oh, and if I didn't say it before, WELCOME TO ALTERNIA!

“That’s ok, it happens sometimes,” Aquos said. Her eyes gently travelled all over the young man’s body, taking note of him. He was rather attractive to say the least; Aquos couldn’t help but glance at him once or twice more to get a better look at him. As he introduced himself, Aquos felt her hand being taken within his. She nearly withdrew her hand, but forced herself to keep calm. She had no idea where she was, hence, she wasn’t going to take any chances with being twitchy. As far as she knew or was able to guess, this James fellow was either a resident in this area, or at least, knew more than she did about this town.

Smiling softly at the young man before her, Aquos did not allow another word to escape her lips as she bent down to help James retrieve his fallen items. Picking up an item or two, she had to resist the sudden urge to take an item or two. She had no idea if it would beneficial to her, but considering that he was a polite man and probably willing to help her if she asked, Aquos decided not to take any of his belongings. Her name went unspoken as she nodded quietly.

“Here’s your stuff, James,” said Aquos, her azure eyes flicking casually from the items to the young man. “And my name … is Aquos.”

Upon the young man, was a Pokéball; it seemed highly unlikely to be empty, seeing as he was out and about. But then there were the people who chose not to have a stroll or breather without a Pokémon, so Aquos wasn’t able to make an accurate assumption about it. He seemed to have noticed her looking at the ball, and thus, chose to introduce his Pokémon. James had stated that its name was King, and that left Aquos intrigued as to what it exactly was …

“A Nidoran’s a nice Pokémon to have,” Aquos complimented, smiling at James. With her smile accenting her features, she looked more youthful than she already was. “Oh,” said the girl, nodding at the offer, “That’s a good suggestion. I do have a Pokémon of my own –”
Of course, the Pokémon she was referring to wasn’t really her own Pokémon; it was the Pokémon mistakenly mailed to her home. However, she didn’t care, and hoped that the Pokémon within didn’t mind either. Unlatching the Pokéball from a strap on her waist, she gave the device a little toss. From a flash of light emerged a turtle-like Pokémon of a green shade. It was a Turtwig, a Grass type Pokémon.

“This would be Remix, my Turtwig,” Aquos said, confidence within every word. She didn’t really feel too confident about using a Pokémon that wasn’t hers, but at this point, it didn’t matter anymore.

Tossing his head calmly from side to side, Remix quietly kept his eyes on Aquos. So, this was to be his Trainer, like the other lady said? Very well, it shall be done. Taking a step forward, a step closer to the Nidoran now, he steeled his frame and got ready to fight. He needed to be wary of Nidoran – it had the Poison Point ability, meaning he had a chance to be poisoned upon contact with the Poison-type Pokémon.

So the battle was on! Corny line aside, your handsome opponent issued his first set of commands with a yell.

"Ok King, let's treat the young lady and her friend nicely. Start off by powering up with Focus Energy! Afterward use Peck."

So much for nice, right? Well, there was really little you could do in the way of telling Remix to dodge, so you had to just hope he was smart enough. Luckily for you, Remix wasn't about to take any crap from someone with a snooty name like 'King'. King focused his energy, a glint orange in his eye, and charged with his horn ready. Remix had little trouble though, dodging King like a matador dodges a raging bull, and King swished past your turtle with a grunt. However, now it was your turn to order Remix. You didn't particularly appreciate him taking a headstart either.

Regardless of your next course of action though, let me leave you with this: On such a beautiful day, and in such a beautiful area-- don't be fooled. You never know when something else is going to come out and bite you in the butt. Speaking of which, a tiny little Sentret popped up from a hole in the ground next to you. It looked about wearily and spotted the ensuing battle. Scared, it started shouting. I'd silence it if I were you. You know, Sentret can call friends to help.

Focus Energy for a higher critical rate, and then Peck? Wow, that certainly meant that he really was out to get her … well, no problem there. She’d just get him back. Despite all that negative feelings bubbling within her, Aquos quietly nodded. Her azure eyes locked with his, but she channeled no emotion into them – her face was a picture of calm and collected features.

“So you took the first move, eh,” she said, allowing a smile to emerge. Crossing her arms before her, she racked her brains for any attacks that a Turtwig of Remix’s level might have. She had no idea what level he was – considering that she had just let him out of his Pokéball – but reckoned that a turtle Pokémon like him would have at least one stat-lowering skill and another offensive one. Her Pokétech went unused as it stayed locked unto her wrist like a watch. She’d just have to figure out how to use that darn thing sometime down the road …

Looking at Remix, and trying to get him to understand her commands, she opened her mouth to speak. “Remix, Withdraw. Stay in your shell and Tackle King,” she ordered, pointing at the Nidoran. She was intending to give her Turtwig some extra protection and defense before the offensive strike. She wasn’t sure if Remix was capable of fighting on his own, but that was something that only time could tell.

It wasn’t long after her command that a creature popped up from the surroundings. Aquos was alerted to its presence by its expressive eyes, staring ahead at the battle. Remembering that she had some food on her, the girl reached a hand into her waist pouch and tossed a small biscuit over to the Sentret. Its shouting was definitely distracting … Aquos felt glad that she had gave her commands earlier, or Remix might not hear her over this small din.

James might not have such luck though, heh.

“Remix, Withdraw. Stay in your shell and Tackle King.”

Remix grunted. If he was going to have to stay with his new owner of his, he might as well obey orders. Sure, he was going to have to go down the instinct route at one point, but this wasn’t the moment. Nidoran were dangerous in their own right.

Lifting his front, right paw, he stuck it back into his shell, followed by the other limbs, and finally, his head. His shell gleamed for a moment as it raised his Defense stat. His eyes, glancing out of the shell he was in, analyzed the situation. Slowly, but surely, he shifted his body a little, trying to find a way to use Tackle from within his shell. It was possible, but needed some thinking from his part … and he would manage. He always managed somehow.

And there was no disappointing his new Trainer.

The Sentret was making quite racket, or rather until you fed him. Good thing you did too, all the noise started to give Remix a migraine. The little creature got all the way out of his hole and started to give you puppy dog eyes, whimpering while pawing at your legs. The little Sentret wanted more, maybe she'd even join you if you did. A Furret would make a great contest Pokemon. But for the moment you ignored her to instead give out instructions to Remix.

You told Remix to withdraw, then tackle, which was a bit confusing for him. The fact that the Sentret's former noise was still racking at his brain didn't help at all. He put all exposed parts of his body into his shell, and pushed all his momentum forward with a tackle. He didn't move far, a running start would've helped (I should know, I have a Turtwig myself and have tried the same maneuver.), but he still made some contact with King.

"King, while the turtle's getting out of his shell, use strike with your horn, then peck."
King's owner said his words quickly, not wanting to waste his chance to deal some damage. King backed up, then jolted forward with his horn facing Remix. This attack didn't do much, due to it hitting his shell, but it did move Remix away, making him technically dodge the upcoming peck. But, as always, rewards have their perks, and this perk was Remix hitting straight into a wall. He got out of his shell after the impact, shook off his daze, and awaited his next commands.

Looking at the Sentret pawing at her, Aquos couldn’t help but smile softly as she looked at the brown Pokémon. It definitely was cute, but she simply couldn’t think of a use for her … maybe she’d just hang onto her for now and see where the road brings her. Then there might be something to use her for; it was hard to predict things, after all.

“Hey,” she said, softly, “I like you…” Reaching a hand into her pouch once again, Aquos brought out more food. As she fed the Sentret, she watched the battle unfold. It wasn’t in Remix’s favour, but it wasn’t in King’s favour either. That could only mean a good thing, right?

Remix shook his head. Withdraw, and then Tackle wasn’t impossible … When he made contact with King, he felt a slightly triumphant feeling surge within his body. His heart now beating against his ribcage, the Turtwig tried to avoid the horn strike, but still being within his shell, it merely grazed his hardened exterior. That was somewhat of a close shave, but as he tried to get out, he felt himself moving.

The force of the Horn Attack was enough to drive him backwards; he could only imagine what would have happened should he be outside his shell. Deciding that the best course of action to be remaining within him shell, Remix did just that. He felt grateful for his choice of action when he slammed straight into a wall. Shortly after the impact, he emerged from his shell, shaking his head before allowing his eyes to fall upon Aquos. Since she was busy talking to a Sentret … the Grass-type decided that yes, this was the moment to take matters into his own hands.

Lowering his head, Remix charged at King, picking up speed before launching into a jump. The force of gravity, plus the attempting of Belly Flop, would factor in him damaging King. Now … to avoid those pesky poison spikes. To chance or not to chance? But it was too late to reconsider; he was already in the air, after all.

“Right, yeah,” Aquos mumbled, watching as her Pokémon fought against James’s. She hadn’t given any other command to Remix, but he was already fighting back. That should mean a good thing; he listened when he ought to, and was independent enough to fight on his own. She felt rather grateful that it wasn’t some worthless crap that she had received in the mail, even though it meant to be someone else’s.

Shifting her gaze to the Sentret once again, she gently held out more food to the creature. If it was hungry, it would eat. She knew that feeling of being hungry … the kidnappers weren’t exactly generous in terms of food. “Eat up; I still have more,” she said, voice soft as she tried to decide on her next course of action.

Maybe she should get the Sentret to join her … if it was before the battle ended, well, there was no guessing as to what she would ask her new Pokémon to do.

Ok, so let's try this again. Hopefully this time, you'll actually be able to reply.

Anyway, Remix, after carrying out your orders superbly, decided to do a little improvising. He attempted to do a Belly Flop on the poor man's Nidoran. Well--Nidoran's have this horn on their heads, that like...are sharp and stuff. So although Remix hit King full-force, the underside of Remix had the unfortunate experience of becoming pierced. Can't win 'em all I guess. However, good for you-- the attack still did some damage!

Moving on though, you continued to pamper your new Sentret pal. It really seemed to be warming up to you as well. I think it might even consider you a friend. I would test it out though, sometimes animals only like you for your food.

"King, use another Peck!" your opponent shouted next, as the Nidoran recovered from being slammed on. It winced a little bit as it got up, but it was still kicking. It charged at Remix, who instantly withdrew into his shell. The Peck met Remix with a smash, but overall didn't do much considering he was...in his shell. So, what are you going to do now? It's your turn again ^^.

Growling at James and King, the little Turtwig reared his head upwards, positively glaring at them. The stupid horn had hurt him, and he was going to hurt them back. Breaking into a sudden run after emerging from his shell, Remix charged towards the male Nidoran. He wasn’t exactly what you’d call a swift runner, but he was faster than the average Turtwig lugging around his or her shell.

After coming close enough to King, he withdrew into his shell and tried to spin. Aquos’s previous idea wasn’t too bad; it just lacked perfection in its execution. Thinking, Remix came to the conclusion that yes, it was his fault for the ‘perfection’ part of the plan. He was the Pokémon unleashing the attack after all – thus, the blame lay on him and him only. He just hoped that he’d manage now.

Looking at James with a wary eye, Aquos realized that he wasn’t holding back in this fight. Or … maybe it was just her; Remix wasn’t at an advantage in this fight due to King’s Peck attack. Azure eyes looked over the battlefield. Her Pokémon was doing alright on his own, presumably doing so because she was occupied with the Sentret. Good for him; he was certainly independent.

Turning back to the brown Pokémon, she smiled softly at her. “Hey,” she began, some food clenched within her fist, “Would you do me a favor and attack the Nidoran? Just a favor for me … and I’ll give you food after.” Since Remix was somewhat at a disadvantage here, there should be no harm in requesting the Sentret to assist her. If she declined, well, she’d still give her food anyway …

Remix - charged at King, withdrew into his shell, attempted spinning Tackle

If I were that Sentret, I'd be screaming out "Stranger-Danger" and ran as far as my little Sentret legs carried me. But, the Sentret was practically at an all-you-can-eat gourmet buffet the way you were handing over food. Remembering what Mama Furret always said about "You scratcheth thine back, thou shalt scratcheth yours," Sentret decided to step her game up.

Sentret didn't even bother with acting all tough and entering the field like a big show-off. Instead, it chose the idea of dashing straight at the Nidoran called King, smacking him hard in the ribs on the right side. Groaning and attempting to stand up, the Sentret wasn't used to such brutality. Scurrying back to your side, she stood on her legs, begging for some more food.

"Hey, that's cheating!" James shouted loudly at you. Several people that were within ear shot turned at the word 'cheating'. "You're a cheater, the way you 'asked' that Pokemon to attack for you! Cheating!" This guy was sure throwing a fit! Too bad this would be his downfall.

Remix, on the other hand, took advantage of the turning point in this battle. While James whined, King was right there with him, paying no attention to Remix and fuming at Sentret. Running at a not-so-fast-but-good-enough-for-a-Turtwig pace, Remix slipped in his shell and tryed to spin. It was a clumsy, wobbling spin, but a spin nonetheless. Hitting King's head into the ground, the spinning add a little extra kick to the attack. After coming to a complete stop, Remix poked out of his shell, seeming a little tuckered out. King stood and glared at the turtle-club Pokemon, eyeing him as if Remix was a criminal.

"King, try your horn at Peck!" James shouted loudly. Not even 5 minutes ago this guy was all buddy-buddy with you. Now he probably couldn't stand to look at you. Well, rearing up, King took few steps back and dashed at Remix. With his horn outstreatched, King stabbed/shanked Remix, but good too. The little turtle cried in pain from the needle. Not only did it do massive damage, it seemed to Poison the little guy, too!

This battle was nearing an end, and perhaps it wasn't looking too good on your part. Time for the over-abused choice! You can either lose with dignity and not use Sentret as a friend, or risk being put up on posters for cheating and win some cashola. Better do so fast before James barks another attack at you, cheater.

Smiling at Sentret, Aquos let out a small giggle from her lips. “Great job!” she said, handing out the food in her clenched fist to the Pokémon. “Want to try again?” she asked the Sentret, the smile still on her face.

“Cheating? Huh!” Aquos yelled back at James, glaring at him. “Everyone knows that ladies go first, unlike you.” Her azure eyes blazing, her glare continued upon the poor guy. “There’s no cheater in a battle – it’s just winning or losing.” A small smirk crawled upon her visage as she noticed Remix steadily getting closer to King as James pouted and whined.

Watching the face-off between the Nidoran and her Turtwig, Aquos reckoned that James would have calmed down enough by now to bark orders at his Nidoran. So much for being gentlemanly; well, she could care less now, and start fighting.

“Remix, listen up. Use Withdraw and stay in your shell. When King comes close enough, emerge from your shell and Strike with your head.”

Remix felt pain gracing his body. It was unlike a physical wound; it was more like … coursing through his body. It stung and burned, and that sensation was definitely out of this world – in a bad way, of course. The Turtwig was poisoned, and he needed to get this battle over and done with.

He remembered the sudden blur that had dashed unto the pitch, started smacking the Nidoran before retreating to his Trainer’s side. He wondered what she was trying to do, but … commands were issued to him. The Sentret can wait for later.

Snapping his jaws together, he withdrew himself into his shell, awaiting the moment where he would get to strike.

The Sentret finished up your command with a triumphant nod and smile. Heading over to King, she ran up close and gave him a good ram with the shoulder. This seemed to knock King down onto his side, where he lay for a second. This was enough time for Sentret to come in and pound about on his thorned face. If you looked closely enough, you could see little bruises already forming! This was one tough cookie of a Sentret.

"Still cheating! Cheater! This-a way! Hey!" James seemed to be mighty pissed about you asking for help. I'd be too, but I would whine like a little girl about. Anyway, this guy was now flailing his arms and looking around, hoping the authorities would come over and help him out. Either he was ashamed of losing or just like being a jerk, I don't know, but he did have Nidoran perform another attack. "I want this cheater down! Hit the Sentret as it retreats!"

That craven! How dare he attack innocent Pokemon! Regardless, King dashed out and struck Sentret with his horn, placing a nice little hole right in her backside. As a trickle of Poke-blood dripped from it, Sentret turned and glared at her opponent. As the Nidoran ran back to his owner, Remix lashed out from his shell and struck at King, hitting him hard with his head.

After flipping several times and looking Peppy Hare just told him to barrel roll, King stood up tiredly and dragged himself to James. Petting the little King, he cooed him and stroked his back, wincing whenever he touched a spike.

"King, drag this out. I want someone with power to come over here and see this cheating!" James whined to his Pokemon. Even King didn't want to hear this guy complain! Look at him, King was standing there rolling his eyes. James has some issues, but King stood loyal to him. Circling around Remix and Sentret, the little toxic rabbit stood his ground and avoided Remix mainly, but tryed to keep away from Sentret as well. You might want to finish this early, because I think I see the boys in blue headed this way.

“What’s wrong with you?” Aquos asked, slightly irritated. James wasn’t dropping his annoying attitude, and all ideas of actually withdrawing from the battle left the girl’s mind as she watched him moan, stamp and just act like a … idiot. Sighing softly under her breath as Sentret struck with her un-Pokémon strength and energy, she wondered what was it that the kidnappers had put in their Pokémon food that she nicked. Maybe it was drugs or something; she didn’t know, but it sure gave this cookie a hell of a boost.

As she was attacked, something within Aquos snapped. “Alright, I’ve had enough,” she said, uncrossing her arms and pointing a finger at Remix. As if upon command, the little Turtwig turned to look at her, eyes wide and awaiting an order. “Remix, Focus, Tackle and finally Belly Flop,” she ordered, before turning to the Sentret.

“Cookie,” she said, showing her some food, “I know this is tasty, but could you do me another favour and beat King up for one more time? I want this to finish up, real quick so we can eat properly.” Looking at the Sentret with hope in her eyes, Aquos nodded and handed her a small piece of what seemed to be Pokémon food.

Remix gave a small cough. He needed to end this … and with the help of Sentret, it didn’t seem like victory was impossible. Now, if only the Sentret would be his ally and Aquos’s Pokémon, the please-men, or whatever, couldn’t say that she was cheating. It probably didn’t strike the Grass-type that James’s father might be a rich, influential resident in Millenia Town.

If he was, they were all royally screwed.

Focusing to up his Speed stat, he closed his eyes and thought about something for a moment. Renewed determination glistening within his visual orbs, Remix dashed towards King, hopefully for the last time (that Strike with his head was rather … unorthodox) before attempting to smash him with a full-body Tackle, and finishing off the whole combo with a Belly Flop on the Nidoran.

It no longer mattered whether it was dangerous or not to do so – the worst had already happened, and what did matter was finishing that pesky twerp and his Nidoran. On the other hand, King seemed like a rather nice Pokémon to socialize with, if only his Trainer wasn’t a stuck up buffoon …

The Sentret looked up, pausing midstep as her eyes fell on the little circle of baked dough, with it's pokemon-safe chocolate chips. She was no stranger to such things, although all the rest of the food you'd offered tasted better than what she found in those large metal cans in wall-holes behind buildings. Surely, that must have tasted so much better than her usual palette entertained. Drool could be spotted tickling the corners of her mouth, before her eyes danced down to the Nidoran, a new determination in her eyes. The sparkle in her eyes glinted with a sunlit glow, catching the Nidoran's attention and causing his step to falter just a moment as she issued a Foresight.

Remix stood sturdily in place, closing his eyes and contemplating his legs and the friction they carried. Finally, his eyes burst open and he began moving. To his own eyes, they were a blur, but it was about the Sentret's unaltered speed they moved at, so... Pretty average... Speedy for a turtle, anyways, so that counts for something. Perhaps the aerodynamics provided by the new holes in the underside of his shell let him move so much faster.

It was about this time Sentret made her own move, bounding forward towards the nidoran and holding his attention with her own actions. However she managed it, she dealt a heavy Pound to his head, just behind his horn's base, and standing on his ears, thrusting them back with her minimal weight onto his own spines. the nidoran cried out and tried to buck, but as she grabbed his forehorn and tugged it back, Remix slammed shell-first into King's face. Again, the nidoran cried, and the Sentret hopped off his ears, though they remained pinned to his spikes.

Despite that, The nidoran lowered his horn and charged for the Turtwig, his instincts now breaching his loyalty to the whiny trainer still complaining and making a migrane-inducing racket. He blinked once... Twice... And Remix had disappeared. He stopped, looking around, and then up at the shadow growing over him, and proved to not be fast enough for the turtle's momentum.

His backspines dug further into his ears and his veins alighted with a shimmery violet glitter as his own poisons ran through his system. He managed to stand again, tugging his ears finally from his horns, but he didn't remain standing long before collapsing to the ground where he stood, eyes drifting closed as he breathed hard. So, so close, but still in the game. ... Sort of. He appeared to simply be trying to catch his breath at the moment.

"KING! Get up and get out of there! Don't let that be the end of this!" King didn't look as though he'd be making his attack this round.

And, like clockwork, Sentret was back at your side, begging like a puppy at the dinner table for that little bit of baked dough and chocolate in your fingers, her eyes wide and hungry, as though repeating the words 'Pleasepleaseplease!' over and over.

A grin had somehow managed to manifest itself on Aquos's face. With a nod at Sentret, she surrendered the Pokémon-safe cookie to the Pokémon. It wasn’t long before she decided on something, and holding out a Pokéball, she looked at the Sentret.

“So … with food on my side and power on yours, would you like to come with me?” Aquos asked gently, her eyes on the Sentret. She didn’t want to seem occupied with the battle at the moment; the police might be here anytime soon … but, if she managed to catch this Sentret – it’ll probably seem like it was a fair fight. After all, she had the reason that it was her own Pokémon, no matter what James was going to moan at the guys or girls in blue.

Besides, it sounded to Aquos’s ears that James was yelling at King to budge. Or attack. Whatever … it didn’t matter at this point in the fight. Actually, it had stopped mattering one or two turns ago, when James lost his temper. Poor, loyal King, trying his best to fulfill his Trainer’s wishes, but only to fail; yet he always went back to James …

The grin on Aquos’s face was wiped off as she caught a glimpse of the Nidoran from the corners of her irises. The purple-colored Pokémon wasn’t looking too perky; it wasn’t due to tiredness or loss of health – she knew how that was supposed to look like – it most probably was due to some other factor. It hadn’t struck her yet, but she figured that it’ll come to her some time down the road.

Watching Remix move to the sides as he watched the Nidoran with a wary eye, Aquos knew that this battle wasn’t going to drag on any longer. Now, what the Pokémon (with the exception of Sentret) really needed wasn’t more fighting, but some rest and care in the Pokécenter. Even though she would have loved to call off this fight, she didn’t find it right to just … call it a draw or something. She didn’t want James to get her own way – she wanted her own way, this time.

“Remix, you know what to do. Strike, and Tackle!” Aquos ordered the turtle-like creature.

Poison.

It was poison.
Panting, Remix halted after slamming his shell into King. After two turns or so, only did he finally realize it. The dazed, giddy feeling was actually a status condition on him. Calmly, he retreated to the sidelines, shooting a glance or two towards Aquos. She seemed busy with the Sentret, but at this rather vital point in the fight, he figured that it’d be nice to wait for an order from her, you know, like, showing her some respect.

Upon the command to Strike and Tackle, Remix clamped his jaw tightly. He knew the maneuver rather well, having used it a fair few times in this fight. However, since Aquos did not specify how to do it exactly, he automatically assumed that he was at liberty to improvise on the execution.

Naturally, to get enough force behind his tiny shell to attack King, he needed a running start. Running in a zigzagging motion (actually due to the poison), Remix headed towards the Nidoran, albeit at a slower speed than before. Upon getting in range, he lashed out with a stubby leg, before spinning to get some momentum into Tackle. When he spun, he felt slightly dizzy, but shook it off.

It’s gonna be over soon … just hang in there. You’re going to be okay, so don’t give up on yourself …

Remix – Running start, Strike with leg, small spin before Tackle with body

This battle was well and truly over. You knew it, Remix knew it, the Sentret knew it (or she would if she was paying attention)... hell, even King knew it! James didn't. He still thought that his Nidoran was going to get back up and finish the battle. Well, hate to say it pal, but you're dead wrong; there's absolutely no chance of King winning from this situation, so you might as well give up. Of course, since I'm the narrator and he's a character, he can't hear me, so that's the end of that discussion. Anyway, why don't we take a look at the last few moments of the brawl?

Remix charged towards the Nidoran with determination in his eyes. He was zigzagging all over the place, which was another good reason for you to get this battle over with before any cops arrive at the scene, because Remix probably wouldn't pass a sobriety test right now. The poison had certainly taken a toll on his body, but in the end he managed to follow through with his stomp-like Strike attack. The idea was for him to follow it up with another one of those cool spinning tackle moves, but as he swung his body around dizziness took hold and he sort of just rolled onto his shell where he stayed, finally able to get a moments rest. The kick had been more than enough to end the battle, for King let out a final gasp of pain before falling silent. James ran over and carefully scooped up the Pokémon, making sure to avoid its poisonous stingers.

James had a tear in his eye as he started screaming at you: "I hate you! You're a stinking cheater! That Sentret isn't even yo--" That's when he looked over and saw you standing with a content look on your face, Pokéball in hand and Sentret nowhere to be seen. I guess I should catch you up, but then, you probably already know pretty much what happened anyway, right? Well, just to recap, you offered the ball to Sentret who seemed a little worried at the thought first, but soon came to realize that she was never going to get food that good anywhere else, and for what? So maybe she'd have to participate in a few battles every now and then. So what? It's not like she didn't have to fight for her survival on the streets of Milenia anyway (it might seem like a nice place, but believe me, it has a seedy underbelly). With that thought in mind Sentret scampered quickly up your leg, dipped her paws into the pouch at your waist, then bumped her head against the red and white ball in your hand. In a flash of light the Sentret (along with the biscuit that it had stollen) had vanished.

James just stared at you then. He couldn't believe it. It wasn't fair! He was twice the trainer you were and he hadn't caught a Pokémon yet. With a nasty scowl on his face he turned and ran away, slipping inside the automatic doors of the Pokémon Center not far up the road. In his anger he forgot to give you the prize money that you were probably owed, but then, you did cheat. Ah well, who really cares? I mean, what would you rather have, the Sentret as a friend and partner, or a few measly bucks? Anyway, with that done and dusted, the next chapter's your to do with what you will. So what is it that you will, with which... uh... you will do what it is you, um... will... do... with?

[[ OOC: You may have noticed that Sentret used Pound in a previous ref. Sentret cannot learn Pound in any way, so the plot has continued assuming that the Pound was in fact a Strike from the GAL. Sorry if you were looking forward to having Pound, but it just can't happen. Thanks ~ Lexi ]]
