I wish to inform you all of an additional activity which is to subsist within this forum. A lipogram is a form of writing in which an author must omit a particular symbol from all words. Your task is to carry on posting in this way, and thus, any post within this topic must avoid all words containing that symbol which is most common in our Anglo-Saxon writings. I just did as much, now you must too. Normally, I would sign off, but sadly it is now a difficult task, as that symbol which may not show is found following an "L" within my alias. As it is, I will simply stop typing. Edited by Alexis, May 4 2009, 08:15 AM.

But alas, I can also omit that particular symbol from my writing. I can try your writing a bit; its not too difficult for the most part :P. Just as long as nobody picks a symbol that is not hard, such as Z, Y, or other uncommon symbols. That is unfair :P . But, if it was :P I couldn't post :P. Dang, its hard to say it.., uh, so, how about a topic to discuss with lipogram? Also, I think that what symbol for this should go to who was prior. Just a thought, I cannot stop you from not trying it. Your Symbol which you cannot put in your post: t Try it! (OOC: That wasn't too easy, despite what I said :P. I only looked up one word, butit doesn't flow very well) Edited by Tasogare Reiken, Mar 12 2009, 06:59 AM.

Well, I assume said alpha numero will be crossed of said alpha numeros when I finish my paragraph. Hard as said lipogram is, I am happy said process is proceeding well. Said process was hard when said process begun however, said process became easier. Alpha numero being crossed off shall be: A. (OOC: Well, sure was hard to do that. :P) |

So, you wish my reply would avoid using a symbol chosen by yourself? Fine. Of course, while keeping 'E' away from my words previously, your choice of symbol is a smidgen harder. Many words are found in common among said challenges, however replacing some is much more awkward now. I suppose I should choose a issue for discussion. Well, maybe I'd enjoy speaking of love; a focus upon which many people are bewildered and many are confused. Where do I fall, you ask? Well, as of now my life is fulfilled. I am happily coupled, a friend of many years and I found we had loads in common, including a very specific way of viewing our lives, if you follow me. As such, we now convene as regularly as we can afford, and seldom does an hour pass where her face is gone from my mind. She is away from me now, however I will see her again very soon. I wish I could speak of her all day. Alas, no more ways of describing my feelings are available when one is bound by words in such a manner. Now I leave you once more. Who will now show us a spiel of words devoid of any occurrence of 'A'? ~ Lexi (OOC: I didn't realize until after I'd finished that I was too late.) Edited by Alexis, Mar 12 2009, 08:35 AM.

Umm. I think this game is quite silly, yet i have an urge to play the game. It seems fun, however posting this is actually making me realize it is not that fun at all. I think after this post I might leave this topic, never to be seen again here by anyone at all. allthough, it will be interesting to return to see how the next person goes with my challange which will, in my opinion, turn in rather poor results. is it just me or is this Bar very quiet? Y! BEGIN! |

Once again, the time has come for me to attempt to top each other person at this damned game that I once decided to introduce to these forums. I have found though, that this particular letter is much less difficult to avoid than the others that I attempted. As such, I will not bother to write a thesis length piece, but rest assured with the knowledge that I could had I wanted to. In order to allow this game to continue, the next letter to be omitted shall be 'R'. |

Hmph. Please allow me to make my distaste of such painfully difficult games well known as I feebly attempt a slew of sentences that, in the end, will likely make little to no sense. Oh, well; c'est la vie, I guess. Haven't done anything like this, though, I will admit. And to dash any advancing beyond a decent question's point, should a minimum sentence count be employed? Should those of us who can...simply do? Anyway. Next up: no "S". Edited by S3rpent, May 29 2009, 11:40 AM.

That letter? Really? Well, I have to admit, that may make the game a tiny little bit more difficult, but will Lexi back down from the challenge? No way! I'm here till the end, for there be no letter in the alphabet of today that I'm unable to type a decent length paragraph without. Don't believe me? Well, you decide which letter you want me to omit, and I'll be more than happy to give it a go. But if you think that you're going to be able to baffle me with my own game, then you're in need of a new brain, for I am the queen of Lipogram mahem! Long live Lexi and her golden tongue (for the more common colored tongue unfortunately cannot be typed with the particular limitation of the current forum reply)! |
