Welcome to Kijutsu! The sun is shining, the air is clean (well, as clean as city air can be), and there's a newspaper blowing by. It lands in front of you, rustling in the breeze. On the front page is an announcement for what looks like a city wide...Voltorb and Magnemite festival? Well, that's really ood. What city would have a festival for those two Pokemon? Then again, Magnemite do keep the lightning away and Voltorb seem to not even exist anywhere. Maybe there was a use for them after all? Either way, the festival starts at 2 according to the paper and it's 1 now. You could hurry over to the central park and have some fun, maybe make some new friends. You may be even could make friends with either a Magnemite or a Voltorb and quietly leave before anyone noticed. But a trashcan suddenly falls over and makes you jump. Was that a squeal from you? Something whines and paws through the trash before sighing in failure. A white head glances up at you and the big dog Pokemon stares curiously at you. It can smell food on you and he looks pretty hungry. Maybe you could be nice and give him a little food? Level 6

Batura looks down at the Pokemon. Noticing his hunger, Batura digs into her bag for some multi-type Pokemon food. Its bland, but she has never seen the species of Pokemon before, and she doesn't want to feed it Cacnea's food. "Here you go, little guy," she says as she dumps a few of the morsels on the ground. "Dig in!" Batura picks up the newspaper that was on the ground and looks over it, looking back at the dog-like Pokemon. She smiles. "Say, little guy, how would you like to go to a festival with me?" Batura asks. She watches the dog-like Pokemon eat and she giggles. "You are pretty hungry, huh?" She dumps some more of the Pokemon food onto the ground for him to eat. She eyes over the newspaper some more. "This festival should be some amount of fun, at least. Maybe I'll meet someone nice! You really should come too!" she says, beaming at the hungry Pokemon. "Maybe I should let Cacnea out for a stretch. Then we'll all go to Central Park together." Batura takes Cacnea's Pokeball out of her bag and she releases her. She looks at the two Pokemon. "So, are you two ready for a festival?" Edited by ocpcole797, Mar 5 2009, 11:02 AM.

(OOC- I always thought Smeargles were monkeys! After all, Trace is kind of like “monkey see, monkey do.“ They’re supposed to be dogs? Now I’m confused. Oh well, on to the ref.) The pokemon in front of you looked up with big pleading eyes. He’d smelled food on you, and was now trying to beg you for just a bit of it. Luckily for the little guy, you were a kind hearted person. You dug through your backpack, and poured out a small amount of Pokechow for the pokemon. As he ate, you read through the paper. While the festival sounded fun, it also sounded like a good chase to see more pokemon. A tug at the hem of your dress brought your attention back to the hungry pokemon. Once again, he looked up you, in a pleading sort of way. He reminded you of the line from that really old movie: “Please sir, may I have another?” Or, something like that anyway. You’d never seen that movie. So, you poured out a little more food, and then asked the Smeargle to join you on your trip to the festival. The little guy seemed to consider this, as if he might join the giver of food. Unfortunately for you, Smeargle was still a wild pokemon, and when Cacnea made her appearance it frightened him. Smeargle leapt back, holding his tail like a fencing foil between himself and the green cactus pokemon. Smeargle looked like he was ready to attack. The way his eyes darted around, maybe he’d just make a run for it though. ---------------------------------------- Level 5 35/35 100%-VS- Level 6 37/37 82%

As soon as the strange dog-like Pokemon leaped back, Batura squealed in surprise. She looked at his newfound hostility, frowning. "Now come on, little guy! We aren't trying to hurt you..." Batura felt like a hypocrite saying this. She got the feeling this might turn into her first Pokemon battle. And not on good terms either... she thought. Batura groaned and looked at her Cacnea. "Ok, Cacnea this might turn out good, so get ready." She looked at the dog Pokemon with anxiety, noticing its tail most of all. But Batura could also depict the ambiguous set of eyes on the Pokemon's face. What if it doesn't want to fight? No. No, you can't take any chances. And if you fight it, you can capture it! though, smiling. "Cacnea, we have to convince him to come with us!" Batura cheered at Cacnea. She put one foot in front of the other and pointed toward the frightened Pokemon. "No chances, Cacnea! Use Leer attack!" Cacnea responded in agreement an began to use his Leer upon the other Pokemon. |

I heard that you are gangster. I am pretty gangster myself.

Come on, this is a battle. Not a picnic in some luxurious vineyard where you can just ask a rabbit to join you for a cup of tea. You have to be aggressive. You have to show distinct dominance and cast a shadow over your opponent's. You can't just expect everything to turn out all happy-happy-joy-joy in the end. To get what you want fighting, you have to draw the BLOOD LUST! ... Er-hem... Smeargle took air and leaped off onto one of the metal dumpsters from within the alley and watched intently as Cacnea initiated with Leer. Knitting her eyes together, Cacnea swallowed all traces of strength and fury into her stare and gave the Smeargle the Leer of a life time. Too bad she could only manage that for one moment after getting exhausted from all that tension in her eyes. That is why, my good lady, you never ease up when you're fighting. You'll be the one getting hurt. The Smeargle cocked it's head and threw back in hysteria of Cacnea's uneventful use of a turn. What's creepy is that fit of laughter had only lasted for about the same lapse of time Cacnea had used Leer. One second the Smeargle was on his back, ramming the lid of the garbage bin with tremendous force he almost fell off. The second the garbage bin tipped over, the Smeargle had already been standing in front of Cacnea with the eerie blank expression it was wearing on it's face before. Cacnea was dumbfounded, trying to recollect his wits as to figuring out how in heck's name did the Smeargle get from that garbage bin all the way to her without her eyes noticing? The answer isn't as complex as it may seem. The Smeargle knew how to perform a Teleport. A bit shabby, bit nonetheless valuable. Oh, and let me say one thing before I go. Be a bit less selfish about making friends with this wild animal because it sure doesn't share mutual feelings. Don't forget to help your Cacnea up. That Strike just now looked awfully painful when it made contact with her. Cacnea Lvl 5 27/35 85%Smeargle Lvl 6 37/37 81%[Knows Teleport] Edited by Lurke, Mar 9 2009, 06:57 PM.

Batura watched at the turn of events, as the Smeargle eventually used its abilities to cripple Cacnea in one, lethal strike. She gasped in fear, but then her innocence turned to anger as she saw the look of pain on her poor Cacnea's face. "How dare you!" she stomped on the ground. So this is what a real battles is like, huh? Fine then, let's get on with the show... She smirked a devilish smirk. A strange new feeling began to take over her. It crept up her spine like an ever growing vine, ominous but still friendly. It felt so right, but she knew it had a dark nature. What was it? Revenge... Filled, with rage, Batura flexed her arms. She stomped her feet and looked at Cacnea, determined. "Alright, Cacnea! Get him back!" she yelled. She smiled deciantly at the other Pokemon. "Use Absorb, then Poison Sting, ok?" She looked hopefully at Cacnea. She had better not fail. She wanted this Pokemon pounded into submission. She wanted nothing else but sweet revenge upon the unknown dog Pokemon. Now Batura knew, it was going to be hers. |

A Smeargle, eh? Well, those are always fun. Sporadic move sets, the ability to copy yours and what-not. This one seemed particularly interesting, already knowing Teleport. Wasn't perfect, but hey, teleportation is teleportation, amiright? Well, at the very least, that Strike attack was surprisingly powerful. Practically infuriated, you addressed the foe and then gave your partner a few orders to fight back against the troublesome artist. Cacnea shook off the remainder of the last attack and proceeded to follow your orders. To start, she pointed her arms towards the chuckling Smeargle. As the dangerously sharp and toxin covered needles short towards the enemy, he seemed to chuckle more and vanished, causing your attack to miss. Well, Teleport was certainly starting to become a pain, wasn't it? Especially so when said Smeargle arrives right by your beloved Pokemon and paints a few mocking images on its face with that tail if his, huh? Surprised, and angry, your Cacnea quickly launching into using Absorb. At that range, it was pretty much a sure hit. A few stunned seconds, and the Smeargle was damaged quite a bit, with your Cacnea looking slightly healthier. Convenient attack, that one is. Batura chirped a little eep! in response to Cacnea's attack. She was so proud of her darling Pokemon. It was strong! She clapped, but then scowled as she looked at the dog Pokemon...thing. Her brow furrowed, but then she looked at Cacnea... Her brow loosened and she brightened up. Revenge will last. She smiled, glancing over at Cacnea. She pointed at Smeargle as if he were accusing it of a heinous deed. Of course, it had committed a heinous deed. It assaulted her dear Cacnea! "Let's keep going Cacnea! Repeat the combination and get that cruel Pokemon! Use Poison String and Absorb!" It seemed to work well enough the first time. Why wouldn't it now? It might even work better, the Poison Sting hitting. Batura smiled at the thought. I guess this was the way catching a Pokemon worked at first. Tough love. |

Another round facing the same opponent the beret wearing beagle known as Smeargle. The dog waited unthreatened as you explained your plan to your Cacnea, a repeat of what you did last. Smeargle happily spun its tail with a twisted face. It seemed to be enjoying the battle, slowly but there was a definite glint of excitement and ecstasy in its eyes. Cacnea aimed her two pin covered arms at the dog and fired her barrage of poison filled needles. Instead of teleporting this time, Smeargle dodged by rolling to the left. This little maneuver caught both you and Cacnea off guard. Before either you or Cacnea could react, Smeargle jumped on top of an over turned trashcan and then Teleported with the can. Frantically the search for where it would turn up was on, but you and Cacnea forgot to look at the one place it would turn up. Above Cacnea. Smeargle rode the trashcan all the way down after materializing only two feet higher than Cacnea. It brought the can right over the tiny cactus, sealing her inside. Once the can was on the ground, Smeargle started to beat the sides of the can causing it to boom with each hit. Lord only knows the torture poor Cacnea was going through right now. Sound is a damaging thing and Cacnea had no way to escape. Once Smeargle was satisfied with its work, it hopped off the can and kicked it away. The can hit Cacnea as it flew near you. When it rolled to a stop near your feet you'll notice a Smeargle shaped face sticking its tongue out at you. The Smeargle was now taunting you and your Cacnea. Batura watched how awful the strange Pokemon was behaving towards her precious little Cacnea. Every time the Smeargle beat on the can, Batura would whimper in pain for her Cacnea, who would have been defenseless and hurting. "Cacnea! NO!", she cried. Once Cacnea emerged from the trash can, landing near Batura, she patted it on its little head. "It's going to be ok, Cacnea. We're gonna get him back!" Batura then glared furiously at the Pokemon that she still had not figured out what it was. She shook her head, reminding herself that the battle should be all she thinks about. She looked at the Smeargle again. "You're going to pay, you little brat!" Batura helped Cacnea back up to her feet, and decided to give her a little pep talk. "Ok, Cacnea, your doing great, but we have to take care of this stupid Pokemon. We can't let it beat you!" She lightly patted Cacnea up and down, assuring her focus. "Ok, here's the plan. You going to use Poison Sting, then roll forward in a summer sault, you know. Like the ones we practiced back at home? Yeah. Then I need you to use Poison Sting again, but in a few different directions so the brat can't escape. Ok?" Cacnea nodded as Batura smiled at her. "Ok Cacnea!" She pointed at the Smeargle. "Execute the plan!" |

You knew little about your enemy besides its penchant for Teleportation and that its personality is rather playful, so you could assume that the two would combine for another round of tactics similar to the last several. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" appeared to be the Smeargle's dictum for this round, who again scoured his surroundings for anything that could be used in battle. A trash bag to his right filled with banana peels and Remoraid heads was instantly appealing, and he sprinted over to it, considering a humiliation strategy where he would empty the disgusting contents atop your Cacnea's head. The beagle (henceforth, Smeargles are beagles) grabbed for the bag, began untying the loop on top of the bag until- The sharp sound of a dart hitting a target radiated through the area, causing Smeargle to drop his hold on the trash bag, partially in fear, but also in wonder as to where the stinger hit. Surprisingly, the bag stayed suspended in midair stuck against the wall via a very sharp, unusually large Poison Sting pinning it against the wall lining the back of the alley through the middle of the bag. The plastic containing all of the trash slowly ripped, and the dumbstruck Smeargle could only watch as the bag's contents fell all over him. Nonetheless, the dog could be considered lucky still, for the stinger missed him by just enough to merely embarrass him, not actually pierce the flesh of the dog. No, the piercing of flesh would have to wait until the second and third Poison Stings, which knocked your unsuspecting target backwards by hitting him through the bottom left leg and grazing him across his beret. The latter attack was enough to inflict a weak poison into the Pokemon's blood stream, and the first partially immobilized that left leg. This wasn't completely hindering to the Teleporting dog, but it meant that his only mode of transportation would probably be in his Sketched attack. Your Cacnea wasn't yet done, afraid that the dog had already teleported, sending several Poison Stings in other directions around the alley, hitting nothing else and achieving no purpose besides wasting some extra energy. The playing ground had been evened a bit, but the Smeargle was just beginning to play. Make sure to inject some extra cunning into your next few strategies if you plan to keep up. Batura watched as the opposing Pokemon had trash dumped all over him. She felt bad for the Pokemon but eventually concluded it was deserved punishment for the horrible embarrassment it had already caused her dear Cacnea. She looked at Cacnea and smiled, giving her a light tap of her finger as a high five. She didn't use her entire hand, so as not to prick anything with Cacnea's needles. She then began making observations of the alley around her. It appeared there were merely a few trash cans around the battle, and Cacnea and Batura had backed the beagle-like Pokemon into a wall, injuring his leg and poisoning him, or so it appeared. Batura noticed the empty trash can near her feet that had been kicked toward her earlier after Smeargle had trapped and tortured Cacnea inside the can. She smiled, a plan brewing in her mind. Batura looked at Cacnea and gave her a thumbs up. "That was perfect! We've got that little brat in trouble now!" She then picked up the empty trash can at her feet, lifting it carefully above her head. "Ok Cacnea, I'm going to use this as a shield. I want you to use Absorb on the other Pokemon and try to regain some health, ok? After that, even if the other Pokemon avoids your Absorb, I want you to lift your arms in the air and let out a shower of Poison Sting, so that he can have no escape. I'll be protected because I have this over my head." She held her chest out, proud of her plan, and smiled at Cacnea. "I'm sure you'll perform just as perfectly as last time!" Then she kneeled down low, double checking to make sure the trash can would protect her and that no Poison Sting needles could get inside her makeshift shield. Then she spoke up, "Ok Cacnea! Go! Let's give that brat the punishment he deserves!" |

((Smeargles are not monkeys, or beagles. They are painters! Which kinda look like Lamb Chop!)) Have you ever watched the Jumper? I really hope you have. Otherwise, you lose out on the true epicness of this post. Cacnea did manage to absorb some health from Smeargle, though it wasn't a whole lot. But did you expect it to be? I think you should start teaching Cacnea Giga Drain if you need it. Smeargle tried running toward Cacnea, but it's leg hurt too much and it just sort of whimpered. It couldn't hardly walk! Poor little puppy painter... So Lamb Chop got an idea. I guess he DID watch the Jumper! Just as your Cacnea let the Poison Sting fly, Smeargle teleported behind your Cacnea, a few feet away. Then it did a quick succession of teleports behind Cacnea, and tackled it! Your Cacnea flew several feet forward after that epic attack! However... the Smeargle just puleld off the equivalent of about five teleports, and a tackle, and immediately slumped onto the ground, with hardly energy left. Got to say, the little puppy had guts. He was struggling to his feet and wanted to fight, but would you really do that? Your Cacnea was pretty worse for wear though. The Smeargle was a bit bigger than her. She could definitely use a trip to the Pokemon Center, and maybe a little TLC, after winning that match, unless you want to finish the Smeargle off. But I do commend her, she did do quite well facing a Pokemon stronger than she was, in her first battle at that! You should give her a hug. Batura looked over at Cacnea in despair. "My poor baby! Oh Cacnea, you did so well. I promise to get you healed up as soon as possible!" Batura gave Cacnea little pat on the head, once again taking caution to avoid any of Cacnea's spikes. She then returned her perfect little Pokemon to her Pokeball, kissed it, and put it back in the pocket of her purple skirt. She then smiled at the Smeargle with pity. She walked over to it, happy for the punishment she had caused it, but still unhappy that it was in so much pain. "I'm sorry it had to be like this little guy." She frowned and kneeled down, scanning the Pokemon with her Poketech. It read Smeargle on the screen. "Ok, Smeargle. That was a great battle. I was honored that you were my first. Now, let's get you in safety and get you to a Pokemon Center." Quickly, Batura grabbed a Pokeball from her belt and tossed it on Smeargle's head. "Capture!" she said excitedly. She hoped that Smeargle could be hers. And she hoped even more that even if she failed her attempt to catch it, that the Smeargle would not have hard feelings toward her or Cacnea. She thought it was pretty friendly before the battle after all. Edited by ocpcole797, Mar 20 2009, 11:09 PM.

In My Little White Room Again
|
On most occasions, when one comes across a desired creature they would usually deplete it’s energy so that it was on the brink of losing its consciousness, and then they would throw their Pokeball at it with high hopes of hearing the jubilant ‘ping’ that erupts from the apparatus that signifies a successful capture. But no, you just had to be different! Just had to be all rebellious to the normal way in which society functions –I’m just screwing’ with you… Unfortunately, you Cacnea ended up taking the worst beating in this little skirmish and so out of the kindness of your heart you returned her –meaning there was no other way to diminish your adversary’s health
Anyways, now was a good idea to head towards the Pokemon Center to heal up your companions. And so, you made the short journey towards your destination and upon arriving before the sliding doors you were engulfed in a massive gust of frigid air. Despite this coldness, you approached the front desk and handed over your two friends to the nurse who –with her everyday smile- carried them off with her curly pink hair bouncing behind her. She reappeared after a few moments and delivered you your Pokeballs. Well all’s said and done now…what to do what to do? HEY! A curious glance outside the center caused you to get a full glimpse of a pit pocketing in the process. It was a child, about the age of twelve or so, with ruffled light brown hair and dark warm eyes. He approached an older woman, who was engrossed in some trivial conversation with another woman. Both of whom were oblivious to the child who approached the women closest to him, and silently started to dig through her bag that was sitting on the ground behind her. You saw his hands retreat from the sac with a wad of cash, and he was about to turn tail and run. What would you do? Set the boy strait or just let him run and find something more interesting to do? What will it be? Edited by Crosse, Mar 21 2009, 12:49 AM.
