Popple ftw
Nagou Village is a lush green village with lots of... well, green! It's a great place to start a Pokemon journey, and there's plenty to do! Like the Nagou Manor, which is just up the road is due for some exploring. There's bound to be a spot where Pokemon gather in that gigantic place.

There's also the Nagou Gym, where you can earn your first badge. True, the people in there are rather skilled, but your Volbeat is unstoppable, right?! Maybe not right now, at this moment... but it hopefully will be one day! Next thing you know, you might be the walking out of the gym doors with a smile on your face and badge in your Trainer Card!

If the gym isn't what you're aiming for, how about exploring the Forest of Legends? Maybe it's a little tough, maybe it's not. The only way to find out is to explore it yourself. Remember, don't believe everything you hear-- your eyes never lie.

See? There's plenty to do here in Nagou Village! If you want to stock up on items and head to another town, there's a shop right here in the village. Nothing's stopping you from adventure!...

Except this here Slowpoke. It looks kinda' tough. Perhaps because it's so slow, you'll have the upper hand in battle. By working together with Volbeat, I know you'll dominate this guy!

:slowpoke :female Level 5

Do what you have to do, but have fun while doing it.

Well, this was rather interesting. There were some rather large Pokemon near you until the Salamence flew off and the Rhydon just laid there. Maybe someone should be called so that the Rhydon could be moved out of the way or something along that line. Anyway, you had more important matters to attend to. There was a Taillow that started going berserk on you when he was friendly just a few minutes ago. What happened to him?

Anyway, you gave Luc orders against the strange betrayer and he went into action. Honestly, the bird had the upper hand with type right now but that could all change by the end of the round. Luc began to use Double Team but what shortly interrupted when Taillow came in with a Quick Attack. Luc stopped his stat raising move short and quickly flew out of the way. It was a close call and Luc was able to fire off a Confuse Ray at Taillow which hit and caused Confusion. It was kinda funny watching the bird flop around on the ground like a fish.

Anyway, Taillow continued to flop around in his confusion and was slowly damaging himself with each time he hit the rough ground. After awhile, it just looked kinda sad. Maybe you should go and try to help it or see if you could calm it down now that it's confused. And as for your looking for wild-but-helpful Pokemon, there aren't any. They were all scared away when the dragon came and defeated the Rhydon. Anyway, good luck with your battle!

Luc did a great job dodging Taillow's Quick Attack, and the Confuse Ray hit perfectly. It was pretty amusing watching Tailow flow around, but after a little bit it just became a bit sad to watch. "Maybe I should try reasoning with him again." I started walking towards the small bird. Luc flew close to me with a look of confusion on his face. "I'm going to try to reason with him again. If he starts to attack me I want to you hit him with a Tackle then use Double Team." Luc nodded and watched carefully as I walked closer to Taillow. I felt bad for him. He had to watch his mother die only a couple days ago and he's probably confused and frightened. Poor little guy.

"Hey, I'm sorry I had to do that, but we had no choice. I'm willing to forgive you if you'll join my team. I'm sure we can be great friends. I'd love it if you'd come with me. What do you say? Put this behind us and join together?" I held out a Pokeball for him to accept or decline. Hopefully he'd accept but he might go crazy again and start attacking me. That's why I had Luc here in case anything went wrong. I didn't expect it to, but in his confused state he might do something unexpected.

I'm not entirely sure I got through to him. I mean, he is confused from Confuse Ray. I hope he understood what I was saying. Luc hovered close to me, waiting to attack Taillow if he went crazy again. He didn't seem to trust the bird after his last episode. I guess he'd be naturally wary of bird Pokemon, seeing as he's a bug. I'm sure if they got to know each other they'd be great friends. I held the Pokeball out, but held it firmly in case Taillow tried to knock it out of my hands. I looked around but saw no Pokemon around at all. They must've been scared away by the Salamence and Rhydon. That Rhydon was still there. I wonder if there's someone who's paid to move fainted wild Pokemon or heal them. Or maybe he'd just heal on his own.

While waiting for Taillow to either accept or decline my request, I thought about the future of my team. The only Pokemon currently on my team that I knew for sure I'd have forever were Luc and Malkah. The rest were all strong and I had bonded with all of them, but things change. Tikvah was full of spunk and energy, but her worth in battle was negligible. Shelakah was strong, but half the time I don't know whether she understands a word I say. Arumani is powerful and a great fighter, but I don't think he has respect for me or what I say. Finally we come to Azil...I haven't really seen him in battle, and we haven't spent much time together in general, but I can see him becoming a valued member of my team in the future. I just hope he can learn to accept his place in time and the world he now lives in. I was still waiting for Taillow's response. Hopefully he'll accept, and if he doesn't I'll just have to capture him the old fashioned way.

I know you're out there somewhere...
There's this common theory that goes something like when a person experiences great trauma in their life, such as witnessing the death of their mother, they can go a little crazy. Sometimes they go so crazy that they end up being social outcasts due to their psychotic behavior, which may include constant screaming and even assault, though it doesn't stop there. Now when you take something like that into account, perhaps you can better understand why a bird Pokemon may start attacking someone it once acknowledged as a friend. Besides that, perhaps he's just afraid that you'll leave him like his mother did, though I'm sure a thought like that never occurred to you. Isn't it a good thing you have someone like me to inform you of all of these different possibilities for the explanation of this Taillow's sudden outburst? And yes, I would be horribly upset if you blamed this entire thing on me, as I'm only simply trying to do my job to the best of my abilities!

As you were talking to Taillow, you could see that he seemed to be fighting with his mind to understand what it was you were saying, although it was clear that he wasn't doing a very good job at it. I think you might very well have screwed yourself over with trying to talk sense into him when you used a Confuse Ray on the poor birdie. Once you finished, he let out a scream and started flying very quickly again, though this time it was heading for a swampy looking area, and Luc followed him close behind. He knew that you had every intention of capturing this Pokemon, and so he'd have to make sure that somebody was following it for you. But he did stop eventually, and that was because of something that happened, which is both shocking and horrifying.

You saw the Croconaw before either one of the other Pokemon did, and when you saw it, you knew that it wouldn't be good news for either one of the Pokemon that were flying towards it. But you weren't expecting what happened to happen, and I'm sure you screamed when it did. Taillow happened to be looking back at Luc when the following event took place, and Luc's eyes widened when he saw what was about to happen, and that was when the Confuse Ray finally faded. Looking forward, Taillow saw the huge set of jaws open, and before he could fly quickly to either side of the much scarier Pokemon, it darted forward and smashed its teeth right around the bird. You saw feathers go flying everywhere, and then you saw a huge lump travel down Croconaw's throat, who then rubbed his tummy like he had the best meal ever in ages. And then he looked at Luc.

Luc immediately flew upwards and then back towards you, not wanting to die anytime soon, and seeing as how this is your last usable Pokemon, I don't think you want him to go either. Now I think it's obvious what you can do, but I only see one option as smart right now. Either way, I'll leave it to you to decide.

I probably should've seen it coming. No, I definitely should've seen it coming. How could I have possibly thought to reach Taillow when he was just hit by a Confuse Ray? Oh well, I tried. At least he didn't attack me. He stated flipping out again. He was flying around like a maniac and Luc was trying to follow him without getting himself killed. I guess the trauma of seeing his mother's death finally got to him. Can't say I blame the poor little guy. I should probably let him fly off in peace. "I guess I'll recall Luc." I was about to tell him to come back and let the bird go, but then something totally unexpected happened.

"Luc! Watch out!" Luckily Luc saw it too. A strong looking Croconaw was right in the path of the two Pokemon, and he looked hungry. Luc saw him at the last second and stopped. Taillow wasn't so lucky. The Confuse Ray ended right as he turned his head from looking at Luc to see into the maws of the beast. Before he even had a chance to do anything it was done. Gone. Well...at least he's with his mother now. Luc, terrified, flew back to me, and the Croconaw looked at us with hunger in his eyes. I fumbled for Luc's Pokeball but eventually got it and returned him to it. I started backing away slowly.

I hoped it wouldn't attack me. It was a Pokemon, what incentive would it have to attack a human? I looked around to see if maybe there were any people around who could help me. If the Croconaw decided I wasn't worth its time and left I would try to find my way around here to get to a Pokemon Center, perhaps back at the tournament grounds. If it attacked me I'd run like hell. Obviously the former is the better outcome. I looked cautiously at the Croconaw, my body pumping full of adrenaline, ready to bolt if I needed to.

...You come to ME for a nice reff, trying to by-pass the NICE admin? I see a logic fail here..... And giving me a Lv 27 Croconaw to control...... Nice move thar.....

The Croconaw licked it's lips, having a nice little snack after waking up from a long nap. It scratched it's caveman-colored stomach, obviously still hungry. It looked around with a sigh on it's face, seeing if any prey managed to be stupid enough to still be staring at it. And then, it's eyes fell onto you. A mixture of hunger, insanity, and an explosion of energy is the only thing you could see glimmering in the crocodile's eyes. It was shining to fiercly with anticipation, you could only sit there and stare into the large spheres upon it's face.

The Croconaw had eaten the Taillow a few yards away from you. It was a comfortable distance, you could probably get a nice headstart if it began to run at you. Or so you thought.

One second ago, you were staring into the distant eyes of the crocodile. The next, you saw a giant mouth flying closer and closer at you. It had jumped from where it was standing, and closed the distance between you and it in a matter of seconds. That, and it had jumped at you mouth agaping.

Insinct taking over, you immediately jumped backwards, causing the crocodile to smash into the ground before you, also taking up a large mouthful or dirt. It didn't like that. Not. One Bit. You scrambled to your feet, and began to run. Looking back, you could see the Croconaw following you with ungodly speed, smashing everything opposing it's direction, and using everything it couldn't brake as a spring board.

Keep running. Keep running

(Well then, that's that. Request me again, or the outcome of the next reff could be faaaar worse. >:3)

"Holy mother of Arceus! That thing just cleared that whole distance in a single leap! With it's mouth wide open! I could see Taillow's feathers still there! I've gotta get out of here!" I spun around with speed I didn't know I had and started running, where, I had no idea. As long as it was away from that Croconaw I'd be happy. Periodically checking behind me to see if that beast is still there, all I would see would be his powerful claws or teeth ripping apart everything and anything in his path. "Just keep running, just keep running!" He kept thinking that to myself, adrenaline pumping through my body. By now I was relying on primal instincts more than rational thought.

There were a few possibilities here. The first, and obviously least desirable, was the Croconaw catching up to me one way or another. I'd run out of energy, slow down, and the great maws of the beast would be upon me. Or maybe I'd trip, providing a free and easy meal for him. Perhaps a Pokemon would jump out at me from nowhere and start attacking me, providing two morsels for him to devour. Or maybe he would shoot a Water Gun at me, knocking me over and begging for death. None of these were exactly pleasant, but were all very plausible possibilities. Not exactly things that happen to normal fifteen year olds, eh? Well, this is Alternia, where anything can happen. You don't really know how true that is until death is chasing you with his large claws and razor sharp teeth.

But maybe he wouldn't catch me. Maybe I would outrun him. Maybe, by some miracle, I would have more energy than him and he'd run out of steam before catching me. Or maybe he'd get bored of chasing me and go back to his home, or go after something else. Maybe something would attack him and distract him from me. Could be a wild Pokemon, or one trainer owned, it wouldn't matter. All that would matter would be that some other poor soul would have to deal with him, and not me. These were all very unlikely, but perhaps Arceus is smiling on me today. Maybe he'll grant me some mercy and get this beast to leave an innocent kid alone.

The third, and by far least likely possibility, was that this was a friendly Croconaw. This could all be some horrible misunderstanding, a mistake. The Croconaw simply wanted to see a real life human up close and personal. Or maybe he himself was trainer owned, and his trainer just wanted to chat. I highly doubt it, but it's possible. While nearly impossible, this was the most desired outcome. But for now, running seemed the best decision. I could go see if he's friendly...and then again I could go stick my head in between a Zangoose and a Seviper and see which would kill me first. Yeah, running seemed to be the smartest thing to do right now.

And so I ran. And ran. And ran. How long did I run? No idea. Where did I go? Not sure. How much longer could I keep running? As long as I had to. The adrenaline kept me energized, but for how much longer? I made a quick prayer in my head to Arceus for my safety, and then went back to my thoughts of "Just run, just run, just run!" All that was controlling me now was primal instincts. Ducking under tree limbs, leaping over small rocks, avoiding larger ones. These actions were what governed my body now. And I only hoped that monster would leave me alone soon.

Dusk had slowly been creeping in, and the shadow of nightfall was slowly decending on the sceneries that which you ran on. WIth the growing darkness, you could barely make out what was in front of you, praying to whatever being sat in the sky that you didn't trip. Our hungry crocodile friend was barely effected by this darkness, obviously an adapted night predator as well. More and more you ran, not even noticing the chaning of landscape around you. Thick trees and undergrowth became smaller bushes and tuffs of grass, untill finally the ground no longer mushed beneath your feet, Ah, well, less to trip on. You had just about half way up Route 4 by the time you noticed that your steps no longer sagged into mud, and that the earth was much harder and flatter. But of course, that also meant that the Croconaw could also go faster, with a heavier foot. Not too keen for you, who was rapidly getting tired.

The Croconaw, on the other hand, showed barely any signs of weariness, height in levels showing their bright colors. It was closing in on you fast, almost jumping with every step. You had to convince yourself that it was the wind on the back of your neck, and not it's breath every few minutes. Your legs began to feel heavy, and you could feel yourself slowing down. Your body couldn't take it anymore, it was going to shut itself down, and leave you for dinner. And sadly, you didn't have much of a say in the matter. All hope was lost, and you nearly gave up and flopped to the ground on your own accord. That was, until you heard a loud cracking noise.

Turning your head slight, you could barely make out a darker section of earth that you had just transfersed. It was almost a complete circle shape, and the middle most part was cracking heavily. It didn't break as you cleared it, but then, to your delight, the Croconaw came barreling onwards.

With a loud snap, the ground gave way, and the solid earthen floodgates crumbled to drop the crocodile into a deep, sand pit trap. It was deep, but even still, in one or two good jumps, it could clear the rim of the hole. This could give you a nice gap between the two, but you stayed put, staring almost joyously at another sight. The walls of the pittrap were exploding: tens of Trapinch were scurrying out of hidding, and jumping down to seize their hard earned prey. The Croconaw was able to easily disable the first 5 - 7 Trapinch that jumped at him, and the next, but wave after wave bombarded it. Not before long, it had orange jaws clamped over his own, and the feeding began. You could only turn away as the muffled sounds of agony and cracking limbs filled the air, followed by the scratching of feet, chattering of jaws, and occasional GRAAAAWRL.

Now, you have a couple of options, some smarter then others. You could A: Wait and try to catch one of the Trapinch, and risk turning that army on yourself. B: sit and rest your tired as hell legs were you stood, subjecting yourself to the wills of nature to protect you as you slept... Or C: Trump your way through the shorter part of the Forest of Legends, and take a good and long vacation in the Pokemon Center. There are obviously other things you could probably thing of doing, but I'd suggest one of those. And possibly one of the more latter choices...

Minutes passed. Hours. Hell, I may have been running for days for all I know. What I do know is that when I finally stopped it was dusk. I hurtled past trees and branches and rocks and it was taking its tole on my body. "Oh god this is the end." I have to say I never expected it to end this way. Eaten by a monstrous Croconaw. I just prayed it would be painless. Well, as painless as getting devoured could possibly be.

Suddenly, something amazing happened. The ground I ran over cracked a bit. I made it over the weak ground, but the Croconaw fell right through it! Safe at last! Well, at least until he jumps out. But wait, what were those? Trapinch? Arceus must've been smiling upon me. The Trapinch started to attack the Croconaw, and though he fought off the first wave easily, he was soon overwhelmed by the horde. Serves him right for trying to eat me.

I have a few options now. Try to capture the Trapinch, rest a bit, or take a shortcut through the Forest of Legend. Battling those things was out of the question, and while a rest sounded very tempting, I just didn't trust the nightlife of Joukai Pass to be kind enough to let me sleep in peace. So the forest it was. I made sure I had everything I needed and then set off, leaving Croconaw to his doom.

Right before I left, however, my Poketch beeped. Looks like someone made an offer on a Seviper I didn't know I had. Turns out it's been in my PC for quite some time. I had no interest in having such a vicious Pokemon, and the offer was a Pidgey and a Potion. I always admired Pidgeot. Their beauty, their strength, it was awe inspiring. I immediately accepted the trade and waited for it to go through, excited to receive my Pidgey. The Potion was a nice bonus as well.

While on my Poketch I decided to sign up for the monthly lottery. It couldn't hurt and it was only $100 for a ticket. "What the hell, I'll buy two." I bought my two tickets and hoped I was lucky enough to win something. Finished with my Poketch, I headed to the forest. I had no idea exactly how far away I was, but it couldn't be too long of a walk. Besides, if anything happened I still had Luc with me and my Pidgey would be arriving soon. I walked on, once again towards the Forest of Legends.

Well, Pidgey did arrive, but since your fainted party still counted as 6, it switched places with Seviper in the PC. You still have a forest between you and the not-eated birdie, unfortunately. Now, I could probably be evil and spawn a few Pineco to drop down on you, or I can be nice and have you walk on through without a hitch. Let's let fate decide, shall we? And fate coin comes up... 'G'. So now I've got to let you pass unharmed... Damnit...

The walk was long and tedious, especially since you just finished running all the way from the swamp to here. Your legs were tired, your bones ached, and every nerve in your body told you to stop walking and go to sleep. But, you knew that you might not be alive the next morning if you let the night's embrace catch you. So, paining with every step, you trudged on through the forest. Luckily for you, it was a thinner stretch of if, so after around 30 minutes of forced walking, you made it to the steps of Nogou City. With a few more, you arrived at the Pokemon Center, probably ready to collapse. It was late at night, so there wasn't anyone in the lobby but the Nurse, who almost died at the site of you.

"Oh my, what happened to you?" She called out to you as you slumped in the doorway. Yep, you officially couldn't walk anymore. But you had made it. Sweet, sweet savation, with the smell of aniceptics in the air. With a short explination to the nurse, and handing over of your party, you were about ready pass out about now. I'd ask if she could help you to a room, or you may end up sleeping in the doorway there...

Well, you didn't need to ask. She walked to the counter with your party, then came back to you with her Chansey. The nurse grabbed your arms, the Chansey your legs, and they carried you to the nearest empty room. Before you could even think another thought, you were dead out.

--------------

You woke up the next morning, suprisingly, feeling much better. Your party was on the nightstand next to you, and your bad next to them. Sunshine spilled in from the window, and was warm on your face. You found that you could move again, and even though your arms and legs were sore, you felt fully energized. That's probably due to the adrenaline shot the Nurse had to give you last night... But, what was even stranger was that you felt an unusual weight on your chest. There was nothing on the covers, but there was a large lump. Lifting the sheets, you almst yelled in shock, but quickly quieted yourself. A male Nidoran was sleeping peacefully, and apparently chose your stomach as the perfect resting place. The Nurse came in to check on you, and found that you had awakened, and discovered a little suprise.

"Oh, I'm sorry about him. He's a wild Pokemon that's been hanging around here since someone brought him in and left him here. He's really friendly, but I wouldn't startle him.... We're out of antidotes right now, it could be a problem for you. But, your team is all healed, and you should be feeling fine enough to walk around again." Bowing, the Nurse left you to your buisness. Well, what do you do now, then?

After all that running, a walk through the forest was far more painful than it needed to be. But anything was better than being chased by that rabid Croconaw, so it wasn't all bad. As I walked I saw countless forest Pokemon, but thankfully none attacked me. Not even one Pineco bomb. Arceus was smiling upon me. After countless hours of walking, I finally saw a break in the trees. I'd made it! Nogou, my home! Back again, finally. It was only a few days ago I had left, maybe a week. After all that's happened it still felt like an eternity.

I stumbled my way to the Pokemon Centre and managed to drag myself inside. The nurses said something, but I was far too tired to understand what. Suddenly my Pokemon were taken, presumably to be healed, and I was being carried by someone to a room. Not sure whether I was still conscious, I drifted off to sleep. I dreamt of my home. I was sitting on a tree outside my house and I was called down by my father. As I climbed down I saw someone with him. It was my mother. As she turned to face me she suddenly turned to a skeleton. The same one I saw in the forest. I wasn't scared though. No, in fact I was perfectly at ease. As if this was the way everything has always been.

Before I knew it, I was awake, and my dream vanished from my mind and my memory. I checked the table beside me and my Pokemon were there. But something wasn't right. I checked my Poketch and Shelakah was gone! Instead was some...thing. Someone must've responded to my trade offers while I was sleeping and I guess this was what I got for her. He looked strong, but terrifying. Well, no Pokemon trainer ever had it easy, why would I be an exception? I'd have a hell of a time training that thing.

But something else was wrong. While I felt completely reenergized, I felt a strange lump on my stomach. I lifted the sheets and saw what was wrong. I closed my eyes tightly and opened them again to make sure I was seeing correctly, and yes, I was. There was a Nidoran sleeping on my stomach. Well that was certainly not what I'd expected to see. Just then the nurse came in and saw him. After explaining everything to me I slowly sat up, being extremely careful not to wake the little guy.

Petting him, while tempting, would not be a good idea due to his Poison Point ability. Hopefully he'd wake up soon so I could maybe talk him into joining my team. If I had to battle him...well I would much rather not, but if I had to I would. I suddenly received some things from my Poketch. My dad sent me some gifts! A Thunderbolt TM, a Guard Spec., and an X Accuracy. It made me smile that my dad cared enough to send gifts. I'll be sure to go visit him. But first I have to wait for this little guy to wake up. "Hey there, little guy." I whispered softly to the Nidoran, praying he wouldn't be startled by my voice. I looked at him with a warm inviting smile. With any luck he would wake up peacefully.

OOC: The stuff from my dad was the stuff from the promo, just justifying it IC

The Nidoran's ears perked up at the sound of your voice. Casually he stretched his neck out and opened his eyes, looking right up into yours. His gaze wasn't really aggressive... more like curious. You should be fortunate that he didn't release a Poison Sting right into your face for waking him up. I know I certainly would because I love my naps. However, I digress.

The Nidoran was indeed very friendly, and he began grinning upwards at you. He hopped up and down on your stomach playfully before jumping down on the ground and hopping around the room.

The Nidoran sniffed the air and looked around. He began poking his nose at your bag. Perhaps he was hungry and looking for something to eat. Nurse Joy was nowhere to be found, so it looked like she wouldn't be feeding the little guy anytime soon.

Well it seems like the Nidoran has taken a liking to you at any rate, and also seems playful and hungry. You also appear to be the only person in the room, so it looks like the decision on what to do is yours! Keep up the friendly atmosphere and you might get yourself a new companion.

This little guy was pretty friendly. He looked playful too. What a wonderful Nidoran. I've always had a particular fondness towards male Nidoran. Maybe, just maybe, I can get this guy to join me. He looks hungry, so I should probably feed him. I wonder if I have any Pokemon food in here...ah yes, here we are. I sat up at the edge of the bed and took some Pokemon food out of my bag. I gave it down to the Nidoran and watched him eat. I wonder if my Pokemon are hungry.

I reached over and was about to release all my Pokemon when I thought, "Wait, they might scare him if they're all released at once. And I have no idea what this new Pokemon I got is. It looks pretty monstrous. I think I'll call him Yezer. Anyway, I should probably only release Luc for now." I took Luc's Pokeball and let him out. The little guy looked happy to see me healthy and strong, and was a bit surprised by the Nidoran's presence. He looked at me with a look of concern, but I shook my head as if to say "It's alright, he's friendly."

This was all Luc needed to introduce himself to the Nidoran. At first the little guy looked wary of Luc, but after a moment he relaxed and the two were talking like the best of friends. I have high hopes for this Nidoran. The two of them ate in peace for quite a while. I wasn't sure how long exactly, but it was so nice to watch them together so calmly, no hostility at all. After a while I started looking out the window, enjoying the peace and humming an old tune my father used to sing to me.

Before long the food was gone and Nidoran and Luc were chatting away. Maybe getting him to join me wouldn't be such a stretch after all. I took out a spare Pokeball and walked up to Nidoran. I crouched down in front of him and held the ball towards him. "Hey there. Looks like you and Luc are getting along very well. Would you like to come with us on our adventures? We're going to travel all across Alternia. We're going to explore every part of this land and we won't stop until we've discovered every piece of this world. What do you say? Do you want to come with us?"

I prayed he would accept. It's not often that you come along such a friendly Pokemon. And he's one of my favourites too! I hope he decides to join us. I'd have to make room for him in my party, but it's worth it. Maybe I'll put Tikvah and Arumani up for trade. Tikvah isn't exactly the best fighter and Arumani has quite an attitude, like he's better than me. I'm starting to dislike him, and hopefully this Nidoran would fill the void with his friendship.

My Poketch beeped and I looked down. Turns out I won two common Pokemon in the lottery. I chose a Venonat and a newly discovered Velix. Both were strong Pokemon and favourites of mine as well. After making my choices, the Pokemon were deposited into my PC. I turned my attention back to Nidoran. I gave him a warm inviting smile. Hopefully this won't end up like Taillow did.

Well, with the addition of new Pokemon by your side, it was a wonderful feeling to maybe be adding another to the group! It's so nice obtaining new and exciting Pokemon, it always gives me a thrill of a lifetime! Oh, but luckily this Nidoran took a liking towards you, how lucky you are. No one around either. When you explained your purposes to the little thing, he just smiled and nodded. Well, that was easy, almost too easy...well, obviously not easy enough, as soon as you picked up the little Nidoran, a very husky trainer walked into the center. "HEY! What do you think you're doing with that Nidoran! Hand it over!" he said. He definitely was either in a bad mood, or he was just a really angry person, because he didn't have a nice tone in his voice whatsoever. Where did this guy come from? He obviously didn't really pay any attention to the fact that it could very well be yours!

He just scoffed and huffed. He wasn't a happy guy. He was huge too, very scary if you ask me. Sure, that Pokemon was wild, but maybe this guy wanted a Nidoran pretty bad? I don't know...but your only ticket to do this safely without making the poor Nidoran too scared was to beat this guy and get him to give up. He was scary, and big, but whatever. You could probably take him.

Just then he began to run at you, quite quickly; luckily, he tripped before he got to you, clumsy guy. He then shot up and screamed, "FINE A POKEMON BATTLE IT IS!! HAHA!! I've been looking for a good fight! Winner takes the Nidoran...hmmm..." He then grabbed a pokeball off of his belt and tossed it into the air. Out came an Abra, it seemed quite calm and quiet for being this guy's Pokemon. But as it were, he figured that the winner takes the Pokemon, or he will take it by force, it was up to you...hand over the frightened Nidoran, or defeat this guy's Abra and have a nice day by adding another Pokemon to the collection. It was your decision. You could even just try and run away...but beating this guy was the surefire way to make sure that this Nidoran was going home with you!

Where was that nurse anyways!? Sorry, but even I wonder...hmmm...

Just when it looked like Nidoran was about to accept my offer and join my party, this guy shows up. Great, just great. Nothing can go my way, eh? Well, I guess it wasn't all bad. I mean, his Abra is weak to Luc's Silver Wind. And Nidoran might fight with me. "Alright. If you want a battle, a battle you'll get. Don't expect me to hold back, you're going down. And remember, you challenged me. Luc, start with a Double Team, and then go for a wide Silver Wind. Watch out for his teleport. And make sure not to hit Nidoran by accident. If he teleports to you then just use a quick Confuse Ray." Luc nodded as he understood his orders. He prepared to act as I knelt down to speak to Nidoran.

"I know you're still not my Pokemon and I have no authority to give you orders, but I'm pretty sure you'd rather travel with me than this guy. I would really appreciate it if you would help me out here and I think Luc would too. What do you say? I mean, it's me or this guy. It doesn't take a genius to make that decision." I hope I got through to him. If he would be willing to help me out here before I've even caught him then there was no telling how strong his loyalty and friendship would be after he joins my team.

I could just feel that him and Luc would be able to work together. They displayed such friendship before the battle, they were a natural team. I could only image Nidoran's power when he'll evolve into a Nidorino and eventually a Nidoking. Nidoking were my all time favourite Pokemon. Such power, such regality. A Nidoking would be a force to be reckoned with. Especially to have one at such a low level of sixteen. I would probably wait until it's learned a few techniques after that, but not too long. A Nidoking's power will make up for the lack of battle moves learned.

Bringing sexy back? Apparently?
Just who did this guy think he was? That Nidoran was so yours! Ah well, I suppose what they say is true: Nothing worthwhile in this world is for free. Seems that this guy wasn’t going to make that a low price, either. Anyway, as you commanded Luc to do a Double Team, followed by a Silver Wind, he nodded and readied himself as you spoke to the Nidoran. Right as you concluded your speech, the battle commenced, starting with Double Team. Luc surrounded the Abra in after images, using Double Team and then proceeded to beat his winds, unleashing the second attack.

The Abra, confused as to which Volbeat was the real one, and therefore which was the one giving off the more powerful attack, decided to teleport outside the immediate range of the powder without trainer command. Perhaps the Abra and the trainer lacked teamwork or proper synchronisation? Anyway, this was followed up with a Thunderpunch but it went straight through one of the afterimages. But wait! That means that it got in close, right? Just so happens that the correct Volbeat was right next to the fake one, meaning your attack scored a decent hit, coupled with a type advantage, well…the prospect speaks for itself.

As for the Nidoran, he stood by and watched this round after your pep talk as the multiple Volbeats gave him a little scare, but he seemed to be loosening up and would probably be ready for action next round.

For the time being I am retired from Alternia. Due to the nature of my work, I've become very busy and time here is hard to find. I shall return eventually however.
