Popple ftw
Nagou Village is a lush green village with lots of... well, green! It's a great place to start a Pokemon journey, and there's plenty to do! Like the Nagou Manor, which is just up the road is due for some exploring. There's bound to be a spot where Pokemon gather in that gigantic place.

There's also the Nagou Gym, where you can earn your first badge. True, the people in there are rather skilled, but your Volbeat is unstoppable, right?! Maybe not right now, at this moment... but it hopefully will be one day! Next thing you know, you might be the walking out of the gym doors with a smile on your face and badge in your Trainer Card!

If the gym isn't what you're aiming for, how about exploring the Forest of Legends? Maybe it's a little tough, maybe it's not. The only way to find out is to explore it yourself. Remember, don't believe everything you hear-- your eyes never lie.

See? There's plenty to do here in Nagou Village! If you want to stock up on items and head to another town, there's a shop right here in the village. Nothing's stopping you from adventure!...

Except this here Slowpoke. It looks kinda' tough. Perhaps because it's so slow, you'll have the upper hand in battle. By working together with Volbeat, I know you'll dominate this guy!

:slowpoke :female Level 5

Do what you have to do, but have fun while doing it.

Matthew placed Shelakah back in her pokeball. She earned a good rest. He also tossed one of his new pokeballs to capture the Grimer. He would make a good trade. While he waited for the capture to be complete, he let Lucidus out of his pokeball and put Croagunk back in his.

"Lucidus, make sure that the pokeball captures this Grimer, and bring back the pokeball once it's complete. Thanks buddy. I'm going to check out this cabin here. Maybe there''ll be something useful inside."

Matthew had noticed the little trail Croagunk pointed out, but thought that the cabin was a bit more mysterious. Besides, there was something about it that called to him. He turned to the cabin and...it was gone! It just disappeared! And so did the remains of the previous owner. Perhaps defeating and capturing his Grimer put his soul to rest or something.

Well, the cabin was gone, so that left the trail. Matthew would wait for the capture to complete before heading to the trail. From where he was standing, it looked pretty clear. It looked dry enough to sit down and some sun even shone through the thick fog.

Matthew suddenly heard a beeping that scared the life out of him. He looked down to see his Poketch going crazy about some Zaroff Island Lottery. There was a weekly one and a monthly one. Matthew decided to go for the monthly, as it had better prizes.

After punching in his numbers he stood and waited for the capture to be complete.

Don't let anyone know that I told you, but with one ticket you have a pretty decent chance at getting one matching number, although I know somebody who thinks that I don't know how to figure out probability. Someone studying accounting in college can't do a simple probability problem? I find that a little hard to believe, don't you? Anyways, you can trust me when I say that you have about a 25% chance of getting a matching number, although I don't think that Shadow would believe you if you told him, because he didn't believe someone else. That's not what this whole ref is about though, so I'll just get to what we're all about, and the first thing up is the capture of the Grimer.

The Pokeball sucked up Grimer and wiggled not very much at all before giving the cue for its capture, and Lucidus grabbed it with both arms, trying to bring it up in the air, though in vain. It ended up dropping right away, before it even got an inch off of the ground, and Lucidus frowned. Sighing, he bumped the ball little by little to you until it touched your foot, bringing your attention to the sphere containing the newest addition to your team. You picked up the ball and Lucidus was glad and rested on your shoulder as you started walking towards the path Croagunk had pointed out to you. Eventually you came to a glade that was dry and looked pretty cozy, with flowers all over the place. Indeed, it looked like a nice place to sit and rest.

Snapping awake, you looked around and didn't see anything that shouldn't have been there. It took you a moment, rubbing your eyes and yawning, before you realized that you should probably check the time, and found that it was almost 6:30 PM. Who would have thought that it would have been that close to the closing of the day? You must have been pretty tired after all that you've done so far. Haha, very very tired as there's this weird mud looking thing with some kind of aura around it. No doubt you smacked yourself in the head, but that didn't make it go away. You realized it was an actual Pokemon when Lucidus buzzed by your ear and appeared to be ready to attack it. It must be that new Pokemon that's been discovered, Tezeh.

Matthew decided it would be nice to take a nap. And this glen was pretty dry, well, for a swamp. A few hours later he awoke. That was quite the nap, and much needed too. Well, he didn't want to be in the swamp when it was dark, so he decided to leave. Wait, what the hell? What's that? A strange mass of purple gas with rocks in it floated towards him.

Not once, but twice, Matthew bonked himself on the head to make sure this was real. When Lucidus buzzed by his ear he realized it must have been real. Lo and behold, it was the newly discovered pokemon Tezeh. At least that's what his Poketch said. Lucidus looked ready to defend his best friend from the invader, but it didn't look like it wanted to attack. No, it looked like it was just curious. Being a fossil for a few thousand years would make anyone curious.

This must've been its old home. It's more than likely changed over the millennia that this guy's been gone. He was probably exploring when he saw Matthew. Maybe he was just curious, or maybe he wanted to fight, Matthew couldn't tell.

"Wait, Luc (Loosh). Maybe he doesn't want to fight. But stay alert in case he does. If he attacks use confuse ray on him, but only if he attacks us first."

Matthew slowly approached the Tezeh.

"Hey there. I don't want to fight you and I don't think you really want to fight me. Are you maybe exploring your old home? It's changed, hasn't it. I'm sure you're pretty curious."

Matthew checked his Poketch for info on Tezeh. Pranksters eh?

"If you want, we can go find some pokemon to pull pranks on. We can probably scare them pretty good. What do you say?"

Matthew really hoped he would be able to befriend this Tezeh. Tezeh were pretty interesting pokemon and would be a valuable asset to his team. Lucidus was still a bit wary of this pokemon and was getting ready to use confuse ray if he needed to.

When the stars stop shining, dreams will shatter before your eyes. Know that you're not alone!

Tezeh looked at you, then at its old home. He seemed to ignore everything you said, and he was not happy with what happened to his home. His eyes shifted to a deep orange, the shards of rocks inside the gas mixed up, and spun around, then returned to normal position. Luc saw the danger, but when he used confuse ray, the rocks weren’t recognizable while they were churning, and failed to faze him.

Whether it was your fault or not, he wanted you to be the one punished. His eyes shifted to a blood red, and the rock shards in his middle churned and swirled. You wondered what its plan was, but you were prepared, in your battle position, you told Luc to hit the dirt. Tezeh fired off all his little rock shards at one time, directly at you and Luc, a couple of the very sharp rocks grazed you your back, leaving cuts behind. Luc, was small enough to avoid the shards, got back into battle position, unharmed.

Tezeh wasn’t a Pokémon to take likely. Just as quickly as it fired off those shards, it picked up nearby rocks in the gas and ground them together, almost instantly replacing them. Its rocks mixed and shuffled again. Probably its way to intimidate you. It reformed yet again, his eyes unchanged. He was forcing you to battle, but little did he know, you could force him into a pokeball. He shot a much larger rock at you, which you had barely been able to avoid. The rock returned to him, and he prepared to attack again. Oh boy, it seems like you were the one getting pranked.

OOC: Lucidus is level 7 :P

Matthew's attempts at soothing and befriending the new pokemon were all in vain, as it was pretty pissed off that his home was destroyed. Well, if he wanted a fight, he would get a fight. Matthew released Malkah Tikvah and Croagunk. Shelakah and Grimer were too tired to fight for now, but his other four were ready and willing to defend against this pokemon. Malkah saw him and was frightened for a bit, but she snapped to attention almost immediately. Tikvah was very scared but Croagunk held her close to him and he glared at the invader.

Matthew stood back up and got into a battle mind frame. This would be difficult, as most of his pokemon knew only normal type moves, and those wouldn't effect the ghost. He would need a solid battle plan.

"Everybody, close your eyes. Luc, use flash on him to blind him, then use confuse ray on the large rock with his eyes."

Luc nodded and everyone closed their eyes. While he charged up the flash, Matthew gave more orders.

"Croagunk, use two astonishes on him after Luc uses confuse ray. Malkah, Tikvah, both of you will be learning new moves. Malkah, I want you to try and build moisture in your mouth, Once you've built up some moisture, I want you to open your mouth and try to breath it out as bubbles. This attack is called bubble. Tikvah, you will be learning a more difficult move called nature power. For this move you need to concentrate on the nature around you. Feel it's energy and aura. Once you have that, take that aura and make it your own. Use that aura to unleash a power only possible with this attack."

Bubble would be easy enough to learn, but nature power would be much more difficult. Matthew would have to explain it in more depth. Well, if he could teach confusion then he could teach nature power. Matthew and the other pokemon closed their eyes as the flash from Luc's antennae lit the area with blinding light. Hopefully it would blind the Tezeh.

Once it died down, Matthew explain to Tikvah more about nature power.

"Tikvah, listen closely to me. Close your eyes. Close your eyes and just think about the wet soggy ground you are standing on. Feel it underneath your feet. Do you feel it? Good. Now, take that feeling and immerse yourself in it. Let it cover your entire body. Once you feel it all around you and all over you, try and feel it within you. Feel that soggy wet feeling inside your body, inside your soul. When it's there, concentrate on the power of that feeling. Concentrate deeply on it and don't think about anything but the nature around you and within you. Once you feel that power take it and unleash it!"

Matthew prayed that Tikvah would be able to learn this technique. It was quite difficult but it would be extremely powerful once learned. Tikvah closed her eyes and tried to concentrate on the nature around her. Mallkah was also trying hard to build moisture in her mouth.

Build moisture. Well, that's not too difficult. I am a water type after all. I can already feel the moisture! Oh wait, that's saliva. Well, it's close. I need to find that untapped reserve of water all water type pokemon have. I need to find it. It's deep within me.

I only need a little bit. I need to force the glands inside my mouth to create extra moisture. Once they do I need to exhale softly to let them out. Maybe if I open my mouth wide when the moisture forms and just breath out it'll form into the shape of a bubble. Maybe I should open my mouth and fill my lungs with air first for some pressure.

Okay, I think my lungs are full, and now I just need to find that watery reserve within me. Just need a little bit. Just a bit.

Feel the nature. Feel the nature. Well, I feel the soggy wet ground underneath my feet, so that's start. But now imagine it all over me? Well, nobody said being on an adventure would be all clean and nice. I'll need to get all dirty and gritty. Dirty and gritty and soggy. Kinda like the soggy ground I'm on. Hey! I think I just did it!

This soggy ground would make my whole body all wet. It would make me all wet and uncomfortable. All squishy and gross. And if it were inside me it would feel all wet and muddy. Wet muddy and gross. All over me, inside me. The nature is all I feel. All I see. All I hear. The squelching of my feet, the flow of the muddy water. All of it is the nature. I must become one with it.

Sheesh, a double move tutor will make this quite a bit longer than normal. Oh well, better get right to it then. Lucidius started off this little shindig by producing a blinding Flash. It was wise to tell your other two Pokemon to close their eyes, otherwise, they would have been blinded like Tezeh. The rock ghost tried covering his eyes with his hands, but he couldn't see much. Then the Confuse Ray hit the ghost, making his head spin even more. He was undoubtedly confused after that, given his awkward swaying motion.

Croagunk then jumped at the Tezeh and struck once with Astonish. The ghost jumped a bit before Tormenting your poisonous frog. Surely you know what Torment does, but if you don't, it causes your Pokemon to be unable to use the same attack twice in a row. Croagunk tried to use Astonish again, but failed. It's a shame really.

As for the move tutoring, Piplup would be learning Bubble eventually. As it is, producing bubbles is not terribly hard. Malkah built up some moisture and then breathed out gently. About 3 bubbles emerged from her mouth. It's better than nothing on the first try. Although, they popped a little short of Tezeh, causing no damage to him. Even so, the rock ghost saw the water attack and knew that something had to be done about it. He tried Striking Malkah, but only ended up hurting himself due to the confusion. Poor Tezeh hasn't been having a good round at all. Regardless, a little more with Piplup and she will have completely learned Bubble. Perhaps try to produce more of them and make them a little less fragile.

This leaves young Tikvah, the Seedot, to learn Nature Power. She contemplated your words, but how does she go about taking in the Nature? Well, you said to feel the damp ground benieth her, so she did. Tikvah started rolling around in the dirt and mud to get a feel for it. How this helps, she didn't know. But then, to feel it within her, did you mean to eat the mud? Surely not, as it would taste disgusting. Well, maybe a change of tactics would be a good thing here. Anyway, what will you do now?

Malkah had done a good job at learning bubble, well, for her first try anyway. Tikvah...not so much. Well, nature power was a tough move to learn. Perhaps she should leave it for another time.

"Malkah, that was wonderful. This time, try creating more moisture and making the bubbles less fragile. Try to close your mouth bit more when blowing them out. This will make them more compact and faster. But you did great for your first try. Tikvah, I think we're going to save learning nature power for another day. For now, I want you to use the global move intimidate to lower his attack and then the global move staredown to lower his defense. Luc, I want you to use silver wind. I know it's weak to Tezeh's ghost type but it's something. Croagunk, focus on your strength then use astonish again."

Matthew hoped Malkah would be able to learn bubble soon, as it would really help in this battle. He also really hoped Tikvah wouldn't be offended by him calling off learning nature power. It was a difficult and complicated move to teach and he simply didn't have the time. Croagunk's torment would be difficult to get around but he'd find a way. As for Luc, he wasn't very useful in this fight. His only offensive move was weak to Tezeh. Well, better that then nothing.

First I like to get the move tutoring out of the way, although in this case, I don't think that will be the first attack used. Malkah was doing her best at conjuring up the Water attack, and this left your other Pokemon to do their tricks. Intimidate and Staredown worked together pretty well, and successfully lowered Tezeh's Attack and Defense, whom simply shivered, before looking towards Lucidus. Seeing that he would be attacking next, Tezeh knew he had to try to do something to stop that from happening, and so he used Smokescreen. The smoke billowed out and over the field, making it difficult to see much of anything, but it only got into the eyes of Lucidus and Croagunk. Luckily the other two weren't hit with it. Knowing where Tezeh had been when he used Smokescreen, Lucidus used Silver Wind, which whipped through the smoke and cleared it. However, Tezeh was no longer where he had been, but was a lot closer to your Pokemon.

Before Croagunk could do anything, a Rock Blast was shot at him, undoubtedly causing a lot of pain to the toxic frog Pokemon. Three boulders smashed into him, which definitely wasn't too good for you. Hopefully things will go better for you in the next round when it comes to finding a good way to attack him. Oh, that's right, we forgot about Malkah and the Bubble attack. Well she had her head lifted back now and shot out the bubbles that she had been trying to form. This time bubbles were shot out quickly, and they seemed to be making a straight line for the unexpecting Tezeh. Unfortunately, the Bubble attack must have still been formed too quickly and without care, because they all burst before they even reached the enemy Pokemon. Hey, she sure is getting the hang of it though! I'm sure she'll have it learned next round.

OOC: You forgot to lower the attack and defense of the Tezeh.

Malkah had almost got it, she just needed to form the bubbles a bit more carefully. Luc was slightly blinded by the smokescreen, and so was Croagunk. He didn't look too happy that he was just hit by three rocks. Tikvah was doing very well with her staredown and intimidate combo. The Tezeh was certainly a clever and powerful pokemon, and Matthew could see great potential in him.

"Alright, Tikvah you did great, and I want you to do it again, lower down his stats by another stage. And don't feel like you're not contributing, if not for you he wouldn't be easy to take down. Luc, I want you to use a double team then another silver wind. That rock blast of his could be trouble for you, so take all measures to avoid it. Croagunk, get back up and focus on strength then go in for an astonish."

Matthew hoped that Croagunk would be able to get his attacks done fast. He'd be Matthew's biggest asset here, well, until Malkah learned bubble, and even then he was a more experienced fighter than her. Luc wouldn't be as effective here due to type disadvantages, but he'd still be a valuable asset with flash and confuse ray.

Tikvah wasn't really that powerful yet, but Matthew had high hopes for her in the future. She'd grow to be a powerful ally. She just needed some more experience. As for Shelakah, she was also an excellent fighter, and a smart pokemon, especially for a Slowpoke. Matthew desperately wanted to find a king's rock and evolve her into a Slowking, well, Slowqueen really.

And then there was this Tezeh. He was quite the fighter, and had good persistence. He was a spirited pokemon and fought hard, even against poor odds. He would be a good friend and valuable partner. AAs for the Grimer he just caught, so far there were no offers. Matthew hoped he'd get some soon.

Tikvah was unsure about what you said…how much could she really contribute to the battle when she wasn’t really attacking Tezeh? Still, she did as you told her and used Intimidate and Staredown together once more. Unfortunately Tezeh was busy staring at Malkah, on the edge of laughter at her failed attempt to blow bubbles at him. That little one wasn’t a threat to him. He didn’t really care about Tikvah either; all she’d done was make faces at him so far; she probably didn’t have an actual attack to use against him.

Luc didn’t much care for the way things were going and hoped to even the score. He focused and quickly produced several clones of himself, completely encircling Tezeh. A most disturbing development…Tezeh couldn’t tell which one was the real pokemon. His accuracy was already in bad enough shape and now this…there had to be something he could do! As Luc began to use Silver Wind Tezeh blasted out another Smokescreen to try and confuse him. This time, however, he was a little too slow and was struck by Silver Wind. It didn’t do a lot of damage, but it still stung.

Grumbling to himself about the rocks still, Croagunk walked towards the spot where, a moment ago, Tezeh had been. There was no sign of him elsewhere, so Croagunk assumed he was still in the middle of the smokescreen he’d put up, surrounded by clones of Luc. When he reached the edge of Luc’s Double Team ring Croagunk closed his eyes and meditated a bit, focusing his thoughts on his strength so that his attack power increased a bit.

Once satisfied with the boost Croagunk plunged into the smoke, trying to make as little noise as possible while trying to locate his opponent. Tezeh had his body splayed out over the ground, to avoid another Silver Wind and to help hide himself from anyone that might be seeking him. Croagunk saw the silhouette of a pokemon and charged in, nailing it with Astonish. Only after he’d hit and stunned his target did Croagunk realize that he’d hit Luc, not Tezeh!

Luc shuddered and the doubles disappeared. The smoke was beginning to clear too, and Tezeh could see them. Grinning, he used Rock Blast again, this time aimed at Luc. Unable to move due to being stunned, Luc bore the full brunt of the attack. This time, thankfully, there were only two rocks, not three. Even so, as he was weak to rock attacks, Luc took a beating from them. On another note, he was no longer stunned, eh hehehe. Malkah watched unhappily from the sidelines and glanced at you. You hadn’t said anything to her…did you want her to try that bubble-thing again?

This was not going very well. Matthew had forgotten to tell Malkah her orders, Tikvah felt useless, and Croagunk had hit Luc. Matthew would have to pick up his game this round. He decided to let out Grimer as more of a bait pokemon, but he wasn't sure whether his injuries had healed or how much strength he had left. He let out the sludge pokemon and he couldn't tell whether it was awake or not. Well, it was worth a shot, right?

"Alright everybody, we have to pick up our game. Grimer, if you're awake I want you to use poison gas on the Tezeh. Make sure to only release it near the Tezeh. To make sure this doesn't poison the rest of you I want all of you to get back here behind Grimer. Alright, Luc, Croagunk, both of you need to focus on your accuracy. Then Croagunk use astonish, but make sure to hit Tezeh this time! Luc, use silver wind again and if he uses smokescreen again use it to blow away the smoke.

"Malkah, I'm sorry I forgot to give you orders last time. What I meant to tell you was to take more time and care forming the bubbles. We want them to reach him, and that's the main goal, not the speed, but the distance they can travel. Tikvah, you have the most important job here. Now, I know this will sound scary, but you need to do it. I want you to get him to attack you. This may seem confusing, but it's a very important job. Try to lure him into attacking you by doing whatever you can. This will make him wide open for any attack. Trust me, Croagunk Luc and Malkah will keep you safe.

"Okay, so to recap, Luc and Croagunk you two will be focusing on your accuracy. Then, Grimer will use poison gas. Once he uses it, if he's awake, then Tikvah will try to get Tezeh to attack her. Malkah, during this time you will be trying to form the bubbles with more care than before. Luc and Croagunk, wait until he goes to attack to counter. Luc will attack first with silver wind and try to blow away any possible smokescreen, and then Croagunk will use astonish. Once Croagunk is done with his attack Malkah you will use bubble."

Matthew thought he gave pretty decent orders here. The problem was that they were all dependent on Tezeh's reactions. But Matthew had prepared for a few different situations. Luc and Croagunk each closed their eyes and tried to clea rtheir minds of any distractions to be more accurate. Malkah tried to build the bubbled in her mouth more carefully so they would reach Tezeh and damage him. Tikvah was building up her courage to get Tezeh to attack her and Grimer was...well, he was just oozing forward. This could be him trying to get in front of everyone else, or maybe he was just rolling down the gentle slope. Either way, this round could decide much of the battle.

I know you're out there somewhere...
You were so rushed in giving orders I think you forgot one major thing: Pokemon tend to follow instructions exactly as given. For all they know you have a grand scheme up your sleeve for shooting attacks at the opponent when their friends were near it. Oh well, I guess you'll see first hand exactly what I mean. Grimer was sent out, although he was still looking in very bad shape, and since he had been fainted, hasn't been able to rest anywhere near long enough to do anything. Well that was pretty useless, wasn't it? That's one Pokemon you're going to have to get to a Pokemon Center as soon as you possibly can, huh? By the end of this round, you're going to think that for more than just him.

Croagunk and Luc focused on their Accuracy while Tikvah began to shout things at the Tezeh, who glared and began to focus on something, which caused Croagunk to then leap forward, jumping, surprising the enemy Pokemon who couldn't help but stare. Obviously something had happened, that being that your Pokemon forgot exactly what order they were supposed to do things. That will happen sometimes when you give so many orders at one time. At the same time, Luc released a Silver Wind and Malkah shot out the Bubble you had been hoping for, this time perfectly. However she decided to show you by releasing them not only better formed, but at a pretty good speed, though nowhere near fast enough to be considered Bubblebeam. Some of the bubbles hit Tezeh, but then again, some of them hit Croagunk as well as he was right in the way of them. The Silver Wind ripped through, and that also hit Croagunk, which wasn't that bad since it was a Bug type attack. But it stopped Croagunk from performing the Astonish.

Tezeh began to laugh in a horrible kind of way, and another Smokescreen was thrown forward, this time lowering everyone's Accuracy. Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, you saw Tezeh come out with a much clearer focus, as it appears that he somehow got himself to see a little bit better. Tikvah shivered a bit as she saw that she was going to get whatever the attack was. Tezeh focused hard on something and you saw him spread his arms wide, and that would be when the unthinkable happened. A huge split showed in the ground, and it snaked its way to underneath Tikvah, who looked up at you before she fell in the ground. But the ground closed, squashing her I'm sure, before opening back up and spitting her out onto the ground again. She was completely knocked out. I think you might want to make her feel a little better... and come up with a better strategy while you're at it!

Well, things weren't exactly going perfectly. Grimer was thoroughly useless. Everyone's accuracy had been lowered. Malkah learned bubble but accidentally hit Croagunk. Luc also his him with Silver Wind. Then....WHAT THE HELL? IT KNOWS FISSURE!? Holy shit! This was getting very very interesting. Tikvah was totally knocked out but thank Arceus she was alive. Everyone needed a pep talk for this. This would be tough.

Suddenly, Matthew's Poketch beeped. It seems as though he won some sort of contest he didn't really remember entering. He got two potions and some money. Then he got a message from his dad.

Dad

Matthew,

I entered a writing contest under your name, I hope you're not mad. I won and the prize was two potions and some money. I figured you'd need it more than me.

Dad

Well, that was nice. He took the potions and put them in his bag. But back to the battle. He needed to defeat this Tezeh. He returned Tikvah and Grimer to their pokeballs. He'd need to give them more precise orders.

"Okay, Croagunk, focus on accuracy and then use Astonish. Once that's done, Luc focus on accuracy and use Confuse Ray. Aim for his head again and try and get him really hard to confuse him really badly. Malkah, once Confuse Ray is used, focus on your accuracy then use Bubble. Aim for one of the larger rocks in his body, we want to take as much out of him as possible."

You sure knew how to pick ‘em! This Tezeh was one heck of a fighter alright. He would make an excellent addition to any team. Of course, ideally that team would be yours, right? Well, first you had to take this bad boy down, which won’t be easy! He’s a little too good at countering whatever moves your pokemon make. Hopefully your battle plan would turn out better this time around and your pokemon would hit Tezeh instead of each other.

Anyway…*whistle* lots of emphasis on Accuracy…although it WAS a bit of an issue for you at the moment. Rapid fire attacks, how cool! Croagunk Focused, getting his Accuracy up, and then sped towards Tezeh before it would react…or so he thought. Tezeh had a quick mind and was ready for the attack; he used Smokescreen to hide himself and then fired a Rock Blast attack. This time he got a surprise though, as Croagunk used the smoke to hide himself instead of trying to attack Tezeh. Eventually he stumbled into Tezeh…er, not quite, but he saw a pokemon through the smoke that looked an awful lot like him. Quick as a flash he darted in and used Astonish, catching Tezeh by surprise.

Next up was Luc, and while he did Focus on his Accuracy…he couldn’t really see anything through the smoke. He flew around the cloud, looking for a thin point that might reveal the Tezeh. The smoke was thick, but eventually he saw movement in the smoke below. He was about to use Confuse Ray when the shadow came out of the cloud and made him pause. Ah…that was Croagunk! Where was Tezeh? Luc looked around a bit more and then fired Confuse Ray as deep into the cloud as he could, hoping to hit Tezeh.

Malkah was a bit unsure of what to do. She had used Focus to raise her Accuracy…and now what? Even with her Accuracy at its normal level she couldn’t see through the smoke…and she had only just learned Bubble. Still, she had to try or this battle might never end. Hoping Croagunk wasn’t in the way again, Malkah sucked in a breath and blew out a stream of bubbles, turning as she did so that there was a wider spread of them. It took a fair bit out of her, but if it worked it would be worth it. Tezeh was too busy trying to find Croagunk so he could retaliate, and some of the bubbles hit him. They didn’t do a ton of damage, but he was really getting worn down. If you did well next round you just might take him down!

Ot was almost done. After all this he'd finally have a Tezeh! Though this Tezeh was quite a fighter and obviously didn't want to be captured, Matthew would show him that not all humans are evil. He'd show him that yes, his world has changed, but that the new world has its wonders and that there are people who still care. Matthew wiped some sweat from his brow and prepared to give his next orders.

"Okay, everybody, you're all doing fantastic. Just one more round and we're done. Now, these next orders will be very important, as they will decide the end of the battle. Luc, your job is to use Silver Wind to clear away the smoke from the Smokescreen. If he uses Smokescreen again clear it away with another Silver Wind. Malkah, your Bubble attack is phenomenal I am very proud of you. Once Luc clears the smoke I want you to use Bubble as fast as you can! If you miss just use it again. Croagunk, if my some crazy chance both of the Bubble attacks miss, use Astonish. And everyone, this is imperative, avoid his Fissure at all costs. If you see him do what he did to use it before, jump or some thing to avoid it. And try not to hit each other."

Matthew knew that this round had to go exactly as planned. He needed his orders followed precisely or this Tezeh might get away. He needed to knock it out before it decided it wasn't worth the fight. Matthew grasped the Dusk Ball he received earlier, preparing to throw it. It would give a higher chance to catch him since the swamp they're in currently counts as a dark place. That or he wasted a Timer Ball trading for it.

The Tezeh looked hurt and in deep emotional pain. Well, who could blame him? His home had been completely changed over the centuries he was fossilized. Matthew was sure the entire continent was once different. Well, perhaps by capturing him Matthew would be able to show him the empathetic side of humans and make him a bit less cynical about the state of the world. Matthew would take him all over the continent and beyond. He'd show him that while the world he may have known is gone, the new world that replaced it is just as good if not better.

But all that would have to wait. For now, Matthew waited on his pokemon to complete their orders, and clutched his Dusk Ball in his hands.
