Nagou Village is a lush green village with lots of... well, green! It's a great place to start a Pokemon journey, and there's plenty to do! Like the Nagou Manor, which is just up the road is due for some exploring. There's bound to be a spot where Pokemon gather in that gigantic place. There's also the Nagou Gym, where you can earn your first badge. True, the people in there are rather skilled, but your Volbeat is unstoppable, right?! Maybe not right now, at this moment... but it hopefully will be one day! Next thing you know, you might be the walking out of the gym doors with a smile on your face and badge in your Trainer Card! If the gym isn't what you're aiming for, how about exploring the Forest of Legends? Maybe it's a little tough, maybe it's not. The only way to find out is to explore it yourself. Remember, don't believe everything you hear-- your eyes never lie. See? There's plenty to do here in Nagou Village! If you want to stock up on items and head to another town, there's a shop right here in the village. Nothing's stopping you from adventure!... Except this here Slowpoke. It looks kinda' tough. Perhaps because it's so slow, you'll have the upper hand in battle. By working together with Volbeat, I know you'll dominate this guy! Level 5Do what you have to do, but have fun while doing it. Matthew was really getting annoyed at this slowpoke...And he wanted it! If a seemingly simple creature could make this kind of resistance, then it would definitely be a great addition to his team. Lucidus finally woke up and was scurrying back to Matthew. When he reached him he was already itching for battle commands. He wanted revenge on this big mean slowpoke who put him to sleep. Matthew decided he'd give him what he wanted, but first he had to give Malkah the love and thanks she deserved. "Awesome job Malkah! You're a toughie, you are! THis is almost over, just one more set of commands and you guys can play in the lake for a bit. How's that sound?" The two pokemon looked at each other before looking back at Matthew with excitement in their eyes. "Alright! Lucidus, I want you to use silver wind and if that doesn't finish her off, Malkah, I want you to use another pound. C'mon guys, let's finish this!" Lucidus started flapping his wings. SLowly at first, but then faster, small blades of bug energy formed around them. As they hummed softly, Malkah watched patiently. She wanted to get the chance to attack the slowpoke, but she also wanted this battle to end quickly so she could play in the lake with her new friend Lucidus. |

Defeated and tired, your enemy stood between two hostiles; normally, you could assume that she was deep in though determining which foe would be easiest to take down, but she was more likely considering absolutely nothing beyond the fastest route to her next meal. Poor thing was born with half a brain, and wasn't even using that to its entirety. Now, there was nothing she could do to stop either attack, lacking the speed to perform an effective dodge or counter-attack. This wouldn't stop the blissfully ignorant Pokemon from setting off in your penguin's direction for her next Pound, obviously unaware of her impending doom, and soon the two attacks hit. Unfortunately, Malkah's extra speed gave her priority over her newly-awakened ally, and when she approached for her Pound, Lucidus' Silver Wind dealt a bit of damage to her as well. Not to matter, for the long battling ordeal was done, and the Slowpoke deflated in defeat. Her head sunk between her outstretched hands, her tail fell to the floor with a strong smack, and her eyes closed. Although your Piplup was now a bit shaken up after being damaged by the Silver Wind, there was no real reason to worry; a Pokecenter was immediately nearby. But why hurry, now? You were in the midst of a beautiful town, and you surely must be feeling ecstatic for winning your first Alternian battle. There was no reason not to enjoy the natural beauty of the town in the middle of the afternoon, so take your time. Birds were chirping, neighbors were making friendly small talk, and you could see other wild Pokemon around you basking in the sunlight. The Slowpoke may be stupid, but lessons can nonetheless be learned from its carefree attitude. (Slowpoke added to Profile) Edited by Butterskenny63, Mar 9 2009, 11:44 PM.

Matthew walked up to the now defeated Slowpoke and softly stroked her head. She may have been trying to fight him before, but that doesn't mean he didn't have any compassion for the creature. After a few moments, he allowed her to rest inside the pokeball she had refused earlier, now her new home. Matthew walked up to Malkah and Lucidus and patted them both on the head. "Excellent job guys! Now, if you want you can play around in the waters. But stay where I can see you." The two nodded and started running around chasing each other. Matthew watched them for a moment before taking out the letter his mother wrote to him so many years ago. He read it over and over and decided that he needed to head further into the forest. He beckoned over his two friends and put Malkah in her pokeball while Lucidus sat on his shoulder. He headed for the local Pokemon Centre first to heal his pokemon and his newly caught Slowpoke. When they were healed up, he headed for the forest. |

Guess who's back...

As you entered the dense forest, you heard many strange sounds. but of course you weren't scared, were you? You saw many Pokemon pass by you. They didn't notice you or Lucidus. You might not have gotten into any battles huh? You saw a few Starly fly overhead, they seemed to be very happy with being free and what not. You were making great time, no wild Pokemon battles, no trainers interrupting you. It seemed all you could do was admire the forest around you. Pity it wouldn't last. As you were walking you saw something charge at you. It was too far away for you tell what it was at first but it whatever it was, it was coming fast. It got closer and closer until finally you could make out what it was. It was a Croagunk, it was running at you, it was probably angry. You couldn't tell though, Croagunk hardly show any emotions. As it got close enough, it lunged into the air and tried to take you down with a headbutt. As Lucidus saw this, it instinctively charged at the Croagunk with its own tackle to protect you. The moves collided and both Pokemon got damaged in the process. As they both landed, Croagunk stared at Lucidus who stared right back. This Croagunk seemed very territorial so as you entered its home, it thought that you and your Pokemon want to harm it. It didn't matter though, there was no way you could convince it that you were peaceful. Your Pokemon: Level 6 35/37 97%Wild Pokemon: Level 5 33/35 95%Egg move Headbutt |

Matthew was enjoying his pleasant stroll through the forest, and Lucidus seemed to be enjoying it too judging by his smiling face and curious eyes. He had never ventured this far into the forest and neither had Matthew. All was fine until a crazy Croagunk ran and headbutted him and Lucidus. Lucidus tried to defend his master and friend by tackling the frog while it was in mid-headbutt, but it didn't look like it did much. He got up and was staring angrily at the wild pokemon, furious that he had interrupted their peaceful walk. The Croagunk looked extremely territorial, and no matter how friendly he was, Matthew wouldn't be able to calm him down. The only solution would be to battle it out. "Alright Lucidus, I want you to start with a blinding flash to incapacitate him. Then, while he's blinded, I want you to try to send out a powerful ball of ghost energy to confuse him. Try to create a bright white ball of ghost energy and launch it out to hit that Croagunk. Use ghostly energy to form it in front of you and then to blast it out to him! Think you can do that?" Lucidus nodded. He closed his eyes and his antennae began to glow brightly. Matthew covered his eyes and when the flash died down he opened them again. Lucidus was trying hard to focus on ghostly energies inside him. He wasn't very familiar with the concept of ghost energy so it was a bit strange and difficult for him. "I believe you can do it! Try and use your dark memories to your advantage! Focus on sad or angry memories and focus their power into a bright ball of confusing energy." Lucidus didn't like thinking of bad memories, but as soon as he was told to use that to his advantage he immediately knew what he could think of. He closed his eyes. In his mind he saw his beloved Illumise being torn to shreds by those evil disgusting Poochyena. His anger and hatred for them flowed through his body. Matthew hoped it would be enough to create a powerful confuse ray. |

So you were attempting a new move upon this dangerous, and Poisonous foe...in the middle of combat. A dangerous and Risky move...but lucky for you, I like risky. Your tiny little Volbeat would attempt to confure up the ghost energy inside, that most Pokemon seemed to have some affiliation with. As it concentrated, your enemy stared on with confusion...not just sure what you were gonna do to it. It readied another Headbutt, it's body ready to spring out...but then, it's gaze was caught. Well while your Volbeat attempted to learn it's move, it invisioned the scene in it's head. Making it squirm a bit with anxiety as it wasn't ready to see all that yet. It's buggy mind, attempted to conjure up the energy and in an instant, you'd find that ball of energy turning into a ray...and well, that Croagunk was caught by something. The confuse ray. Down side was, learning a move mid battle, had taken a bit out of the young bug. Well, by the fact that your volbeat had successfully conjured up the energy to perform the confuse ray, and it had dazzled the Croagunk. Great Success! And as it's eyes were caught by it, it took no time at all to be confused, and it's mind warped in on itself for a few minutes. It though, still prepared to attack..though in it's confused state, it didn't realize that it was walking around all over the place, and as it lauched it'd headbutt...the only mark it found, was on a tree. Excellent job, the confuse ray had worked and had made the Croagunk hurt itself. "Alright! I knew you could do it!" Matthew smiled at Lucidus, and even though he was very tired from the effort, he smiled back. He then turned his attention to the Croagunk wandering around and whacking into trees and started laughing. Matthew couldn't help but laugh too as the frog headbutted a tree with full force! This was going to be easier than he thought. "Alright, now that he's confused and dazzled by the flash, let's try and keep him from attacking you even more. Use a double team to create another two copies of yourself, then go in for a tackle!" If Matthew was correct, and he surely hoped he was, the two copies of Lucidus as well as the original would go in for the attack. Even though only the real one would cause any real damage, the Croagunk was slightly blinded and confused enough not to notice or even think straight! Lucidus would get quite a bit of experience from this fight, plus he learned a new move! The Croagunk would be a nice addition to his team, and if it didn't prove to be useful he was sure that he could get a great trade out of him. There was a big market on Croagunk and he had been lucky enough to find one. This was turning out to be a pretty good day. Edited by Jsol, Mar 11 2009, 06:20 PM.

You're very happy that your Pokemon learned confuse ray weren't you. Seemed like you were in total control of this battle huh? Remember don't get too cocky though, a battle is never fully won. Croagunk was wailing in pain, well wouldn't you wail if you hit a tree hard. It wasn't focusing on anything else, so Lucidus used that time to speed up. At first, two blurry images started forming, then two replicas of Lucidus were visible. Croagunk now ignored its pain and tried another headbutt. It was still confused and partly blinded though and ran into another tree. Doing even more damage to itself. In the process though, it knocked a Seedot out. The fall damaged the Seedot a bit and it got up quickly and tried to flee. Croagunk turned around and unknowingly followed the frightened Seedot while it was trying to attack Lucidus. Lucidus saw this and quickly aimed a tackle at Croagunk. The Seedot tripped and Croagunk was closing in on it. Fortunately though Lucidus and its clones reached in time and knocked Croagunk out of the way with a tackle. Lucidus itself was now getting a bit tired, but it still had a lot of fight left in it. The flash finally wore off, and Croagunk can now partly see again. But the world was spinning around it. It couldn't even tell up from down. The Seedot now walked up to Lucidus and hopped up and down by it, expressing its thanks. Wow what a friendly Pokemon. You could probably even convince it to join your team if you want. The Croagunk could see straight, but its thoughts were still jumbled. It even tried to attack a Seedot thinking she was Ludicus! The Seedot was saved by Lucidus, and she seemed to like him. A Seedot would be an awesome partner, especially once it evolved into a Shiftry. Matthew walked up to the Seedot and crouched down to her. "Hey little buddy. That mean old Croagunk isn't very nice, is he? If you come with me I can protect you from all the mean baddies out there, and you'll get to see the world! What do you say?" Matthew offered a pokeball to the Seedot, hoping that she would accept his offer. While she considered the offer, he turned to Lucidus. "Nice job there, saving this Seedot. Now, give that Croagunk a mean tackle, jump back to get some distance, then tackle him again!" Matthew could see that Lucidus was running out of energy, but he was confident that he would last until the end of the battle. Meanwhile, the little Seedot was still thinking about his offer to join him. Hopefully she would be grateful because Lucidus saved her and would join them. Matthew really hoped she would join his team. |

The Seedot paused but in no time, it entered the ball. The Pokeball wobbled for a few seconds and then came to a stop. Congratulations, you got a seedot *music plays*. This was great, you caught a Seedot with no trouble. Now all you had to worry about was Croagunk. Lucidus took a few steps back before it charged at Croagunk. Croagunk tried to focus itself but it was too late. Lucidus already smacked it with a tackle. Croagunk was now in pain, but its confusion wore off. It got to its feet and aimed a headbutt for Lucidus. On seeing its clones though, it tripped and fell. This was not turning out well for it. It tried to get up again, and Lucidus went in for another tackle damaging it further. This was totally your battle. Croagunk was just to stubborn to accept that. Matthew smiled widely when the Seedot entered the pokeball. He decided to call her Tikvah. He put Tikvah away, and focused back on the battle. Lucidus was getting tired, and it showed. But so was the Croagunk. He would take him out quickly, then catch him to trade off later. "Alright, he's almost done! Focus your strength, then give him a final decisive tackle!" This was quite a fight. Matthew readied a pokeball to throw at the Croagunk. He would get a good trade from him. He saw Lucidus close his eyes and let his hidden strength flow through him until he opened them again. He dove in for a tackle. Hopefully this would be it, because Matthew didn't want to push Lucidus any harder. |

Lucidus was exhausted, but still pushed forward to please his trainer. You shouted out your commands, Lucidus listening carefully so she could follow them correctly once it was time to execute them. First you said to focus on power, and so that's what Lucidus did. He closed his eyes, took in all his power, and focused it toward his attack stats. You also said something about finishing the Croagunk off, so he tried his best to use his newly focused power on a tackle. He leaped forward onto the Croagunk putting in a whole bunch of energy into it, wanting to finish the battle right away, so he could get healed up and refreshed. So anyways, once Lucidus made contact with the Croagunk, he gave a loud cry and fell down to the ground, now successfully knocked out. Lucidus plopped onto the ground himself, and gave out a mighty sigh, glad the battle was over. Your hand was wrapped around a pokeball, and you now lifted it up. You threw your hand forward toward the knocked out Croagunk and then released. It flied through the air, hit your former opponent, and enveloped it in a red light. The ball jiggled once, twice, three time, then stopped. It beeped, then lit up for a slight second. These were the signs of a captured Pokemon, so congratulations on your catch. Congrats, Lucidus gained 8.3 !Congrats, Lucidus moved up to level 7 with 2.7 left over!Congrats, Croagunk gained 6 !Congrats, Croagunk Moved up to level 6 with 1 left over!

Matthew picked up the pokeball that held his newly captured Croagunk. He wasn't interested in using him as part of his team, so he set up an account on Alternia's Wi-Fi Poketch Trade Centre. After putting up the items he didn't want and what he would like in return, he walked up to Lucidus and patted him on the head. "Amazing job. Here, I'll let you rest." He allowed Lucidus to rest in his pokeball and continued his walk through the forest. Eventually he arrived at the sacred lake of the west. He said a silent prayer to the guardian of the forest and walked up to the small altar that was built and knelt down. He did this almost every day. It was a tradition for him. He didn't know who built the altar, but he did know that it was used as a place of worship for the guardians of the forest. Matthew let his pokemon out of their pokeballs, even his newly caught Croagunk. Malkah and Shelakah played in the water while Tikvah and Croagunk seemed to be having a conversation. They looked like they were becoming fast friends. Maybe Croagunk would be nice to keep for a little while. The only pokemon who didn't play in the lake or the trees was Lucidus. He knelt beside Matthew and closed his eyes. Matthew was a bit surprised when he did this. He never knew any pokemon to be very spiritual. Matthew smiled and continued his prayers and rituals. He stripped his clothes and stepped into the sacred lake, letting it fill him with its energy. He wasn't worried about anyone seeing him, nobody ever ventured this deep into the forest anymore. When Matthew was done his ritualistic cleanse, he called his pokemon to him. He needed to look for more clues about his mother. He looked around and saw that all his pokemon had returned, except Lucidus. He was still kneeling by the altar. Matthew walked up to him, put his hand on his shoulder, and waited for a bit. After the Volbeat finished what he was doing, he got up and climbed onto Matthew's shoulder. Matthew wondered if maybe he was thinking about his lost Illumise. He put the rest of his pokemon in their pokeballs. He walked around looking for anything that would help him. He wandered into the forest around the lake and searched there too. He was about to give up hope when he saw something hidden in the trees. He pushed through the bushes and what he saw was the most horrifying sight he had ever witnessed. He saw bones. But not anyone's bones. They were his mothers. Matthew fell to his knees and tears started to well up around his eyes. He had never cried before, but this was too much. He sat there and cried for what seemed like forever. Eventually, when all the tears were gone, he walked over to his mother's bones. Beside her was a bag. It looked like she went to great lengths to keep this safe. Matthew looked in the bag and found nothing but strange documents talking about a genetic project and synthesizing human genomes and a lot of other complicated scientific notes he didn't understand. He looked over them many times but it didn't help. He couldn't understand any of it. He took the papers anyway, in case he found someone who would understand them. He also found one more thing. There was a strange card key. It had a portrait of a woman and had this written on it:
Matthew didn't know exactly what to make of this, but he decided he would pay a visit to this building. He would need to go to Millenia Town first for more information. Hopefully there would be someone there who knew something about this. He out the card key along with the papers in his bag and said a short mourning prayer for his mother before leaving the forest. He got back to town and walked to the pokemon centre to heal his pokemon. After healing them, he left the city and went back into the forest. He would need to decide which route to travel to get to Millenia Town, so he flipped a coin. "Okay, head goes through the swamp, tails I'll cross through Joukai Pass." He tossed the coin into the air and... "Heads. Swamp it is." Matthew started heading south towards Route 4. |

Ah, the swamp was all around you. Water Pokemon were everywhere. Hopefully, one won't come out and attack you like that croagunk. This place was very strange and unexplored so there might be a chance you might run into a battle. You and Lucidus were still walking through the swamp making great time. You got closer and closer to the lake when your bug saw a fainted Marill. You looked a head by the lake and saw many other Pokemon in similar condition. A limping Psyduck came up to Lucidus and they spoke. "Psy, Psy,Duck." it said, pointing to the lake. It quickly scurried off. Who or what could have done this to so many Pokemon? Whatever it was, it had to be ridiculously strong. You had to find out what was happening right? You got closer and closer to the lake, when you saw what was happening. A lone wild Shellos and buizel were causing the chaos. They were in a battle near the lake and any other Pokemon that came near were blasted away. They saw you. "Bui!" the Buizel said, obviously saying not to come near. So what's the plan, step in and stop this battle or forget about it and walk off. I wouldn't think less of you if you walked away, those too look very strong. Level 11 36/45 80%VS :shellos Level 11 38/45 73%

Matthew saw all the fainted pokemon and was amazed at how much damage had been caused. It was evident that nobody had stepped foot in this swamp for a long time. Nature was abundant here, as were pokemon. When Matthew saw that it was a Buizel and a Shellos causing all the destruction, he decided to just let them be. He wouldn't interfere with a battle between two wild pokemon unless he had some moral reasoning for it. All he could to was urge all the other pokemon not to come near them. He kept walking through the disgusting smelling swamp. "Maybe I should've just gone through Joukai Pass. Oh well, what's done is done." He kept going until he saw a cabin in the middle of nowhere. It looked abandoned and the door was hanging on its hinges. He walked up to it and prayed that there were some supplies in there. Right before he got to the door, he heard a gurgling sound. The marsh around the cabin was bubbling. Whatever was here, didn't want him coming any closer. Out of curiosity, however, Matthew walked cautiously towards the bubbling muddy puddle, holding a pokeball in his hand in case he needed to release a pokemon quickly. He didn't let Lucidus out of his pokeball here due to the obvious danger. He got closer and closer to the puddle, praying that whatever was in there would be friendly, or at least weak enough for him to defeat it. "I knew I should've bought some potions while I was in Nogou." |
