"Well done guys. You deserve a break." Jimmy said as he pulled out a pokeball. He tapped it on Grimer's head and let the warm, radiant light envelop his exausted pokemon who gave a sigh of relief that the battle was finally won. "That sure was some ordeal." Jimmy said to himself. He jumped suddenly as he saw Sarah suddenly a lot closer to him, holding a flier. Jimmy skimmed over the flier. "Tier 4 $2000. Thats pretty nice" Jimmy said to himself as he watched the Nurse walk away. In fact I think we barely qualify for Tier 3" Jimmy said, sighing a little. "I guess I can make my pokemon stronger with these!!" Jimmy said as he pulled two Rare Candies from his pocket. Jimmy called over Beldum and Houndour, and held the tasty treats in his hand. The two pokemon wolfed them down, suddenly seeming a bit stronger. Rare Candies really were a marvellous invention. "Alright guys, thanks again. Time to rest." Jimmy said as he pulled out two more pokeballs and returned his faithful companions. It was time to heal them up. Jimmy didn't have much time to train for the tournament so he decided he would try and respond using his Poketech. "Jimmy Taylor Age 16 Tier: 3 Pokemon: Beldum/Grimer/Houndour" Jimmy clicked the send button and waited as his poketech sent the message. He wondered if it would work. Oh well if it didn't, Jimmy would have to find another way of finding an interesting opponent. Jimmy walked to the pokemon centre, which wasn't far from where the Nurse had taken him. he walked in and placed his pokeballs on the counter and waited for them to be healed up. He grew excited as he wondered about the tournament. "I wonder if there are any strong fighters." Jimmy thought to himself. "I hope there is someone there who can provide me with a challenge." He continued. The tournament would be upon him soon. This was going to be the best challenge yet. Jimmy wondered where Sarah went. He wondered if it was her behind the counter. He couldn't make it look like he was following her so he simply yawned and ignored it. She would talk to him if she really wanted to. (I will send a PM announcing my participation) |

Your Poketech beeped its acceptance to the sent message. You were now entered into the Tournament of Aegis, a well-respected event all across Alternia. Who knows what new adventures await your arrival, and all the new and stronger people you'll get to face. All you knew was that it would be exciting. Tournaments usually are ya know. The nurse accepted the Pokeballs. In fact she was expecting them as Sara had came in just before you, but she retired to a rented room somewhere in the back. It doesn't look like you'll be seeing her again soon. A quick stroll around the lobby of the Pokemon Center would give you glimpses of similar fliers as the one Sara had given you. The Tournament was going to be big, or so most hoped. A man in a uniform was replacing the registration sheet in the Pokemon Center. The list was full of names so expect some challenge. The nurse called you back and gave you back your Pokemon. She smiled and waved you off so she could start working on the other trainer's Pokemon. Well with your Pokemon back where they belonged and a bright future ahead of you, what do you wish to do now? you could go shopping if you had the money, window shopping isn't illegal either, or you could finish training your Houndour to master its Flamethrower. All that is clear is that you need to prepare for the Tournament. |

Jimmy walked out of the centre. He sat down on the pavement with his back to the pokemon centre and wondered what he could do to prepare for the Tournament. It was too late to start battling wild pokemon, the Tournament of Aegis would be starting soon. "I guess the only option would be to teach Houndour Flamethrower." Jimmy thought to himself. Best thing he could do until now, and Jimmy knew the perfect place to train. He got up and started walking towards the abandoned car park where he and Sarah had just battled. He kept to himself and avoided bring unwanted attention to himself...he didn't want anyone to interfere with his training regime. As he arrived he retrieved the three pokeballs from his pocket and threw them into the air letting his three pokemon burst forth and land in front of him. It was strange returning to this place so soon after his last battle, but there was no time to think about that, training was the most important thing thing and training is what he would do. "Alright guys heres whats going to happen." Jimmy started as his pokemon listened patiently. "It's going to be a three way battle between the three of you. I will command you all and I will instruct you on how to dodge the attacks. This way I think you all will start to learn each others movements better and we can come up with sone interesting strategies." Jimmy continued as he wondered if this plan would actually work. "Okay Houndour we are going to continue with Flamethrower. I know we didn't plan this but hey, you did better than I thought so why waste it." Jimmy said as he formulated a plan on how to perfect this move quickly. Normally he was quite quick on coming up with plans and conclusions, hopefully it will come in handy here. "Grimer, Beldum, this is going to be a trust exercise for you. First of all Focus your energy to heighten your defence. Houndour I want you to dig deep and search for that fire element in you that will allow you to maintain a steady flow of fire. I want you to concentrate on Beldum and release all that hidden energy. I think the best way for you to do that is to think of something that makes you angry." Jimmy yelled. Maybe remembering bad times will increase Houndour's destructive abilities that all Houndour's type possess. Maybe it will help him focus on the task at hand. Or maybe it could fail badly, but it was worth a try. "Once you have achieved clear focus on what makes you angry, search for that hidden fire element, then release it all at Beldum. Try to maintain a steady stream of fire for at least FIVE seconds!!" Jimmy yelled. If Houndour could maintain the fire for that short amount of time, next time he could try for ten seconds and that should be long enough for the attack to be a success. That was unless Houndour nailed it on the first try...well third try if you count the earlier attempts during battle. Houndour closed his eyes and scrunched his face. It was obvious he was thinking hard, but could he find that hidden fire element, and a memory that made him angry. "Okay Grimer when Houndour releases his Flamethrower towards Beldum, I want you to jump in front and use Harden, take the hit. This is your trust exercise, Beldum I DON'T want you to move. I want you to put all your trust in Grimer, as you would trust me in battle. That will become extremely useful in battle." Jimmy yelled. Jimmy laughed, this was fun. He hoped everything would work out how he planned. "Now...BEGIN!!" |

Beldum and Grimer looked at, then at each other, before hesitantly taking their positions. They both stood, focusing on their defense. Grimer also went further, as you had commanded, and began to Harden its body. The sludge that made its body began to flow much less freely as it became much more viscous. Its body would now be more resistant to physical attacks. Houndour had been diligently following your instruction this entire time. It allowed his anger to build and concentrated hard on the fire that did dwell within it. Slowly, but surely, it could feel the heat begin to accumulate within the deepest reaches of its body. It started small, but as more and more energy was swallowed up by this flame, it grew into a raging fire. Accessing this fire was much easier than Houndour had expected, especially since it was no longer having to do it under the stress of a real battle. Finally, after much concentration and effort, it felt that it could not hold back the flames anymore. With two eyes locked on its unfortunate target, the very one that you yourself had picked out, the fiery dog unleashed its power. The familiar flurry of heat, embers, and fire erupted from its mouth. It sped across the distance separating its origin from its intended destination. It held as a stream for a short time, but it began to fluctuate after nearly five seconds and fizzled out. It had lasted a little longer and retained its shape slightly better than before, though, so you knew that progress had been made. Putting its trust in your judgment, Grimer leaped in front of the oncoming fire. Unfortunately, its hardened body did little to help it against the energy-based Flamethrower attempt. The blast knocked the gooey Pokemon into Beldum. Its body collided with the metal Pokemon's hard shell with a sloppy splat. Both tumbled back, rolling haphazardly before landing in a mess of purple ooze and steel. Beldum was the first to come out of this chaos. It dizzily rose up, allowing small bits of slime to drip down into the puddle that was Grimer. Beldum wobbled as it floated away, still covered in muck. Grimer followed suit, the shape of its head and arms rising up out of the rest of the goo. It gripped its head in an attempt to shake off the horrible spinning that had taken over its vision. It was yet to be seen whether or not the attempt had succeeded in establishing a greater sense of trust, but it certainly had left you with two rather disgruntled Pokemon. Flamethrower 55% learned. |

Jimmy watched as this...pandemic unfolded before him. It certainly lacked in beauty, watching his pokemon spinning around the battlefield as the Flamethrower in training scolded Grimer's hardened goo. "Well...that was...interesting." Jimmy said as he wondered what he should do next. He scratched his head in puzzlement as he realised he only had a short time until the tournament...there would be no time to teach his pokemon Flamethrower and he couldn't do it during the tournament as that would distract him from battling his oppoent. "Oh well...guess we'll just do as much as we can now." Jimmy said as he formulated a plan on how to teach Houndour. Houndour had proven that she could release the fire for that small amount of time. Now Jimmy needed to train her endurance so that Houndour could maintain that steady flow of fire. But how to do it? Jimmy wondered and then at random he walked over to Grimer and saw the pokeball stuck in the goo that had been there since Jimmy had tried to capture. It felt like it was so long ago. "Grimer I'm gonna need that pokeball back." Jimmy said as he retrieved the pokeball from Grimer's goo. (Basically removing the Hold Item) "I'm sorry about that previous round guys." Jimmy said to Beldum and Grimer as he walked back over to Houndour. "Houndour I'm going to start training your endurance. I'm not quite sure how but we are going to do it. Beldum, Grimer you two need to need to get stronger for the tournament so you two start battling each other." Jimmy commanded. With them two battling they should be nice and warmed up for when the tournament began. Now for Houndour...what could he do to train her. There was no time for thinking, the tournament was going to begin soon. Houndour must be ready. "Right girl heres the plan. Use all your might. I want you to focus once again. Get nice and angry. Feel the anger, remember that anger that you had found just now. You've gotten used to releasing the fire, now I need you to maintain the fire. Four seconds. Thats all I ask. I want you to release the fire at FULL power. You need to keep the Flamethrower for four seconds, but I want the fires to be strong, not on the edge of burning out. I don't care if you burn this car park to ashes, if it means you are going Flamethrower, I don't care." Jimmy said. It was happening again. Whenever he became too focused he would lose all sense of right and wrong. He had just ordered his pokemon to burn down the car park. It didn't matter that it was abandoned, the fact was was that Jimmy needed to control his emotions better...well he could focus on that later. As for now he was waiting for Houndour to continue her training. Looking over his shoulder he could see Beldum and Grimer battling each other. They were not holding anything back. They were going for the kill. Jimmy turned back to Houndour. "Alright Houndour. Begin!!" |

So... let me get this straight. You don't have the time to complete the training for Flamethrower, so you decide to continue training Flame Thrower? I don't know about you, but that seems to me to be failed logic. Whatever though, it's not my place to judge. Well, it is, but that's beside the point. On with the ref! Houndour listened to your commands to become Angry, to become filled with Rage, to just lose all pretenses and prepare a flame hot enough to burn with no counter. Or at the very least, that was how she interpretted your commands. So she started to look deep into herself in order to find a way to make herself amazingly angry to a point where the anger would make her flames stronger than they had ever been. For a long time it didn't seem like it was working, but then Houndour's eyes seemed to glaze over with a black sheen to them. In between her jaws a small spark came to be, and the spark just grew and grew as time passed. Eventually there was a full-fledged flame within Houndour's mouth burning brightly and powerfully within seconds. Some of the flames fell like small tendrils from between Houndour's fangs as the flame continues to grow in size and power. While somewhere off in the distance, your Grimer and Beldum battled one another. They seemed to have been taking turns pounding on one another, maybe endurance training? Either that or they were playing the pokemon version of Bloody Knuckles... or something. Whatever. Back to Houndour Within a moment, Houndour opened her mouth and spewed out her amazingly flame. The flame quickly lashed out like a whip waving through the area ready to burn down anything in its path. It was simply amazing, but far too powerful for your pokemon to handle because just after releasing the flame she fell to the ground unconcious. Stop! You heard a voice through your mind for a moment before a loud clinging noise came forth and the fire seemed to vanish in a wave of golden light. Soon enough, a large human-like being appeared beside your Houndour holding up a big metal spoon. Kadabra. It looked at your pokemon and levitated three of the pokeballs off your belt, recalling each of the three on its own before returning the pokeballs to you. The tournament of Aegis is to begin soon. I have been sent here to teleport you to the destination of the tournament. Let us go. Kadabra spoke telepathically before teleporting you and all of your belongings to Joukai Pass. When you arrived, Kadabra left you with one last message, telling you that your pokemon had been healed already for the tournament, however, your Houndour was far too tired to continue training. ![]() [Flamethrower Learning Curve -- 90%] {{Needs to learn to control power!}} |

The last thing Jimmy expected during his training regime was for a Kadabra to suddenly appear and Teleport him to nowhere. Even worse than being teleported to some random, unknown location, was to be told to go and signup for the Tournament and then being told that you were too late and had missed the Registering time. Jimmy stood there for a few seconds, not sure if he was angry, shocked, or relieved. Jimmy walked out of the Tower and looked around at this strange, new area. He had no idea where he was but now that he was here he wasn't going to turn back. This was a new area to explore, with new pokemon and new enemies just waiting for him to defeat them. "We'll go this way." Jimmy said as he started walking towards the East, having no idea where it would take him. After a few minutes and nothing interesting happening Jimmy stopped and sat back against something solid. He pulled out his five pokeballs and threw them into the air, releasing Houndour, Beldum, Grimer, Pinisir and Voltorb. This was the first time all five had been out of their pokeballs at the same time...in fact it was the first time that Pinsir and Voltorb had been out of their pokeballs since he recieved them, they could use the fresh air. "Okay guys, looks like we are well and truly lost. So we are gonna continue our training." Jimmy started. He looked at Beldum and remembered the first time he saw it. It was abused by its trainer so Jimmy decided that the trainer was unworthy of it, knocking the guy out and stealing the Beldum. Jimmy had gotten away with it suprisingly. Thievery was suprisingly easy. "I guess I can give it one more shot." Jimmy said to himself, as he stared away from his pokemon. "Okay then, I'll jump the next person I see." Jimmy thought to himself. Even though this was sudden, it might make him a little richer. Jimmy didn't even have $100 to his name, he needed to make a bit of spare cash. Jimmy returned Beldum and Grimer. He was going to train his other three pokemon for awhile. At least until Houndour had finished learning Flamethrower. All he would have to do is wait. The second he saw a somewhat rich-looking person, he would jump them. It wasn't the most thought out plan ever, but sometimes to make a start at something you have to take risks. |

Phasing Flashback Defender Vigilance
|
You were at the edge of Joukai Pass. In front of you stood a long line of trees that separated the plain-like fields of the pass from the much more foliaged land surrounding it. A path cut through this line of trees and disappeared around a bend. This was Route 5, which would eventually lead to Millenia Town. The place was right for it, so you planned to surprise the next person that happened to walk by and steal their money. For that, you would need something to conceal yourself until you could ambush your victim. As it so happened, the large rock that you had been sitting against was the perfect cover. You and your Pokemon hid behind the large stone. You peered over the edge, waiting for a suitable target; suitably wealthy that is. Luckily for you, not to much time passed before a potential victim came into view. A man turned the bend of route five. He was slim and seemed to be standing at just around six feet tall. He was smartly dressed in an extravagant suit and black shoes. His dark hair was clean-cut and combed with the utmost care. His hands were bare save for an ornately designed cane. Its luscious, golden handle shone in the sun. Rather than using it to help him walk, he was carrying the thing over his shoulder, gripping it just below the head. His whole person seemed to tell of a wealthy individual. The casual nature with which he walked told you that he had no idea of your presence. In fact, he wasn't even looking in your direction. He had stopped and was now looking back from whence he came. He seemed to be calling out to somebody behind him. You couldn't see who it was, though, for the trees that blocked the way. You ducked down behind the boulder as he turned in your direction. Your Pokemon were following your lead and also continued to conceal themselves. You could make out the words of the man as he came closer to your hiding place. “It is quite the day for a nice walk, isn't it Tasa? And the tournament is being held today. Perhaps we should go watch, hm?”. A low purr was the only response that you heard, revealing that his traveling companion was a cat. This changed your plans little, since you had been anticipating a battle. You leaped out of your hiding place with your Pokemon following your lead. With as much a threatening look as you could manage, which was made more poignant by the fact that there were three dangerous Pokemon at your side, you demanded the man's money. An earsplitting roar shattered the air. Both you and your Pokemon were taken aback by this terrifying sound, so much so that all three of your companions instantly fled to their Pokeballs in fear. Stunned, you looked down just in time to see the man's Persian pounce at you from its trainer's side. It landed with its front paws on your shoulders, which sent you falling onto your back. Fortunately, you landed on the grass, rather than against the boulder, which was now further to your left. While offering a slightly softer landing, this did little to help you with the large cat that now had its paws pushed firmly against your shoulders. Its twisted its face into a wicked snarl, bearing its dangerously sharp teeth. You tried to roll, but couldn't manage to get any leverage with the way it held you down. You found yourself effectively pinned. Your would-be victim casually walked towards you. “There's a good girl”, he said, rubbing his hand behind the large cat's ear. Its eyes became slits and it purred deeply. “Now, what do we do about our little burglar here?”, he looked down at you with one eyebrow raised. The Persian snarled as it brought its terrifying face close to yours. Those fierce jaws were mere inches away from your very important neck. The air filled with tension. Moments passed. Suddenly, the man burst out into a hearty laugh. He brought a finger to his eye and wiped away a single tear that had developed as his laughter died down. He took a deep breath and patted his Pokemon on the head. It slowly backed away from you. “John Ranson”, said the wealthy man, introducing himself as he offered a hand to help you up, “Now tell me, young man, what has you in such a dire straight that you would want to steal?” (Request me, please?) Jimmy was shocked at the Persian's power. She had such amazing strength to be able to pin him down so easily. He couldn't even struggle she had him pinned down so tightly. "Great just my luck." Jimmy thought as he prepared for the Persian to sink her teeth into him. However the guy seemed to make his pokemon back off...it didn't even seem like he was going to call the police. This guy then offered him his hand as he gave Jimmy his name "John Ranson." Jimmy batted the hand away and stood up on his own accord, he glanced over at the Persian to see if she would react to his rudeness, however it didn't look like it would strike until her master gave the order. "Names Jimmy" Jimmy said as he turned to face away from John...he needed to look for his wimps of pokemon that scattered in an instance. "Humph, those guys were able to take down a Mightyena without breaking a sweat yet they run in an instance at the Roar of a Persian. Thats some power your pokemon must have." Jimmy continued as he turned his head back to John and smiled. That kind of power was something to be proud of. It must have taken awhile to train his pokemon to be so loyal and strong. "Beldum, Grimer, Houndour!!" Jimmy yelled. He couldn't see his pokemon or hear any far off movements, they must be somewhere near here. "Those cowards." Jimmy said. He turned to face John properly. If the guy was this strong and rich, he might still be able to train Jimmy's team. That was unless he turned on him and contacted the police. Dammit why did Jimmy always get caught up with the powerful trainer. Why couldn't he have a nice, simple trainer with some petty cash that Jimmy could easily exploit. At least for his first planned attack. Oh well that was life, nothing to do now but play along and see what happens. "I guess I could tell him, he seems like a decent enough guy." Jimmy thought to himself. "Whatever, I've got nothing to lose." Jimmy continued as he decided he would tell the guy what his reasons for stealing were. "I've got nothing to lose in stealing. It gets me money that I desperately need. Plus it helps me train my team to be the most fearsome team in Alternia. Then I'll clean house in the next Tournament." Jimmy said, the thought of battling the best was making his blood boil again. He did need his pokemon back before he could battle again. Where the hell could they be? Jimmy didn't know what was going to happen next. Would John report him, train him, or simply leave him be? Hopefully whatever the outcome Jimmy would get to battle something. |

“Nothing to lose?!,” John Ranson spoke as if you had just said the most absurd thing he had ever heard, “My good man, I would hardly say that your freedom is nothing.Crime,” he continued as a more serious tone entered his voice, “is a dangerous game. You could lose your Pokemon or your very life.” He was staring you dead in they eye. He let a second or two pass by without saying a word. He wanted the importance of his words to sink in. Suddenly his Persian began rubbing its face against the side of his leg. He blinked and looked down at the large cat before patting it gently on the head. “But,” he said, now much more lightly, “that still leaves you in need of money, doesn't it? Hmm... now what can we do about that? Eh, Tasa?” He rubbed his chin with his free hand as he looked down at his Pokemon. It looked up curiously. Its mouth was hanging slightly open, perhaps due to the heat. He pushed the cane, point-down, into the soil at his feet. The tip dug into the earth and served to anchor the wooden rod, keeping it from falling over. He dug into his pocket and pulled out an electronic device of some sort. It was rectangular, nearly white, and nearly flat. One side consisted entirely of a screen that immediately lit up when he touched it. Ranson tapped the screen several more times before turning the thing off and putting it away. He put his hand on the cane and casually leaned upon it as he spoke to you.“There now,” he said to you, “I've just put in a special order for the Nogou Pokemart. Now, I could have a delivery service pick up my order for me and bring it here today...”, he paused before going on, “Or I could have you do it instead and pay you the two hundred and eighty seven dollars and seventy one cents that they would have charged me for same-day delivery when you return” Ranson paused while he let you consider his offer. “Ah, by the way, it seems that your Pokemon have actually recalled themselves into their Pokeballs when they were started. If you leave now,” he added as an afterthought, “you will have enough time for a battle or two with any trainers you might meet along the way. That may offer some of the training that you were looking for.” (If you accept the offer, please request me once you get to Nogou) Edited by Solomon, Jun 5 2009, 05:41 PM.

"Life isn't that important." Jimmy started. Why did people always insist on giving him the life talk. "Life is but a game that requires careful skill to get by. It takes time and dedication but as you start to reach higher levels you start to reap the benefits that life holds. Money, fame and power, and thats all that matters. How you achieve it isn't important." Jimmy finished as he placed his pokeballs in his pocket, realising John was right when he told him his pokemon had recalled themselves. "Tch cowards." Jimmy thought to himself. But now he had an interesting propositition placed in front of him. He could take the money that he is basically being given for walking to Nogou and walking back. Or he could walk to Nogou and steal the parcel. That would teach this guy not to suddenly put faith in a complete stranger who had just tried to mug him. His last option was to just walk away and let this guy live his life. He was too nice of a guy, or a show off. Jimmy hadn't decided yet. This guy had money, and maybe he just wanted to show it off by throwing it around for useless errands. Whatever the reason was he did need the money desperately and he shouldn't really pass up an oppurtunity to travel to somewhere new and get his name known there. There he might be able to find a trainer who could provide him with a decent challenge. "Fine. I'll do it." Jimmy said as he looked at John in the eyes. "But I don't see why your trusting me. If you ask me you are being foolish...but whatever." Jimmy finished. He turned away from John and looked around the Pass. He couldn't tell which way Nogou was. There weren't any signs that Jimmy could see, but he started walking straight, opposite to where he came from. If he was wrong John would surely tell him. But Jimmy trusted this insticnt and decided it was better than standing there like a complete moron. As he started to walk, he wondered if John would be there when he get back, or if he would meet him somewhere in Nogou. Jimmy kept walking as he thought. "Well whatever the outcome I'll get something, either the parcel or the money." He smiled to himself as he started laughing. |

"Pokémon" came from "Pocket Monster" - Scary
|
John Ranson watched you walk away with a smug smile on his face. He was pleased that you had accepted his offer. "I never said I trusted you," he said. "I just wanted to help someone out." It was hard to tell whether he was lying or not, but I have to admit, John does not look like the kind of person who would want to help someone out. Maybe he's just showing off his cash. "Farewell," he calls after you. His Persian gives a little purr as well. I don't know about you, but I don't really like those two. You're already quite a way away though, and luckily, headed in the right direction. Woah, it would be embarrassing if you accidently started walking towards Millenia Town instead. But Nogou Village is quite far away, so you have got quite a lot of walking to do. Who knows what might happen in that time? If only some Kadabra could teleport you there. That would save a lot of energy. Sadly, though, it's not happening. As you travel through Joukai Pass, you see quite a few wild Pokemon. Maybe you could battle a couple, or you could just concentrate on your job. I think a can see a Sandshrew up ahead if you are interesting in training. Other than that, there's not much more to see. Just a load of rock in pretty much every direction. John and his Persian are out of sight now, or maybe they walked off in the opposite direction. Who knows? So, your choices. You could battle the Level 12 Sandshrew up ahead, you could just make your way to Nogou, or you could do something I haven't thought of. |

As Jimmy walked he thought about John. His power truly was something Jimmy envied, but saying that he had probably been training his pokemon long before Jimmy was born. However walking was tiring and Jimmy soon found his legs shaking. "Man I'm out of shape." Jimmy said to himself as he looked for a place to sit down. As he scouted around he noticed a Sandshrew on it's own just a few feet away from him. "Meh why not, my pokemon are fully healthy and they could use the chance to redeem themselves." Jimmy thought as he retrieved two pokeballs from his pocket. One held Beldum, his prize pokemon, the second was empty and would hopefully hold a pokemon very soon. Jimmy threw the pokeball up into the air and Beldum burst out, spinning around and landing just above his shoulder, waiting for it's orders. "Beldum, this Sandshrews going down isn't it?" Jimmy asked, he would not tolerate a repeat of the last battle. Beldum should know the routine by now, hammer it's opponent with Take Down until it was weak enough to capture...that was all Beldum could do for now. "Alright Beldum, battle routine, set, attack!!" Jimmy yelled as Beldum soared towards Sandshrew, starting to spin slightly to execute the spinning Take Down he had used almost every battle. |

Of all the things you could have done, you chose to battle the Sandshrew. A respectable decision in the opinion of this humble mod! Anyways, to battle! Sandshrew had been foraging around looking for berries, and did not expect any trouble whatsoever. Trouble is exactly what it got as Beldum came barreling down at her. The Sandshrew didn't even get the chance to turn around as she got hit square on the back. Although Beldum hit it square on, it also took some recoil damage. You have to take the good with the bad sometimes. After she hit the ground, the Sandshrew instinctively hopped up and let fly with a brutal Poison Sting! Such a venomous flurry could have been lethal to some Pokemon, but you and your Beldum had nothing to fear. Its steel body was immune to the poisonous attack, and caused no damage! What good fortune! Upon seeing the attack do literally no damage, the Sandshrew curled up in a ball, tucking her body together and giving her a boost to her Defense. Your move, trainer. What do you and Beldum do now? This battle was looking to be an easy victory. Beldum clearly had a type advantage here. Not only did poison attacks deal no damage but normal attacks also dealt little damage. This shouldn't take too long. Since Sandshrew had used Defence Curl it was going to be a little harder to defeat, so Jimmy needed to even the playing field. "Beldum Focus on your attack, then use another Take Down." Jimmy ordered. There was nothing more to say really, the battle was going to end soon and Jimmy still had things to do. He wondered if John would be waiting for him to return with the package or if he had moved onto Joukai Tower. Jimmy also wondered what John had ordered. It couldn't have been that important if he trusted a complete stranger to pick it up instead of a delivery service. Still the delivery price was pretty high so the package must have been worth a lot more. "Why don't I just steal the package?" Jimmy thought to himself. He couldn't help be curious about what it was John had ordered. And if it was something expensive Jimmy could sell it for an awful lot, or it could be a useful item to use on a pokemon. "I guess I'll see how I feel when I reach Nogou." Jimmy thought to himself. "For now I have a battle to focus on." |
