I get to be a Gmod for this time, and I am so excited. But I am here to help, and I see you are tutoring in the middle (or end) of the battle. I have tutored my Nidoran Sludge Bomb using Toxic, if you need help. But remember, tutoring in a battle can be really dangerous. Lucky for you, it was nearly over! Grimer took your instructions in, trying to slowly figure out by himself how it was going to work. He went to use Harden, and then Sludge. Not having any experience of this at all, he was a bit shaky. The Harden failed to make the sludge into a solid, but what could you expect, it was his first time trying. The Sludge was then thrown, but again, it seemed to just hit as a normal Sludge. Sneel, being steel, was unaffected by the poison in the sludge, but it hurt him otherwise. Grimer was very low on energy, so this may not be the time to do it. Learning Curve for Sludge Bomb -- 0% You also wanted to teach Aron something. A Take Down. Well, the way you instructed it was pretty straight forward, but Aron being so young took it a little bit weaker then it sounded. He had no doubt seen Beldum perform this move before, but maybe in the future, it would be better to show him again as a reference. Anyway, Aron took off, heading towards the Sneel. He lowered his head, and rammed into the snake pokemon. On his trip there, he had used Harden. His timing was just a little off, but he did kind of good for a first time. Learning Curve for Take Down -- 10% Sneel didn't even attack. Your strange tactics kind of confused him. He only used Focus, twice, one on his defense and one on his special defense. Clearly, this Sneel was smarter then he looked and he knew you'd try the same things again. You Enemies |

"Alright Manuel, you're going D....!!" A bright light shone in Jimmy's eyes and the loud, banging noise of the crowd seemed to slowly fade into an echo until it was just a ringing in his ears. The light began to fade and Jimmy found himself faced with the wild Sneel he had been fighting earlier. What was going on? Jimmy looked around. In the distance he could see the tower he had been fighting in. Why had he suddenly been thrown from the Tournament? Now that pathetic excuse for a trainer Manuel would go to the finals. He hadn't even lost. What was going on? Jimmy's anger surged. This was unacceptable!! Grimer and Aron were in their original positions. Aron was still raring for a fight but even Grimer seemed a little confused. His normally calm, serious exterior broken, if not only for a second, as he too puzzled what was happening. However shaking it off he realised there was a battle to win still. It may not have been Manuel, but Jimmy was going to take the full force of his anger out on Sneel. Jimmy remember trying to teach some moves before the Tournament had started, but decided to hold off on them until after the battle. "Grimer, time to say goodbye for now." Jimmy said as Grimer nodded, returning to his pokeball. Jimmy sent him through the poketech to a trainer that had agreed to tutor Grimer some powerful moves. Looks like Aron would be taking the lead in this battle. "Aron, use two Mud Slaps!!" Jimmy ordered. Taking a step back he decided it wasn't worth dwelling on the Tournament anymore. Whatever happened happened, and there was nothing he could do about it. He would quite enjoy seeing Manuel again though...and showing him how the battle should've ended. And so, after being forcefully taken away from the Tournament of Aegis (which I think happened, unless I read your post wrong), you found yourself back in Nogou, facing a Sneel. That made you think, how long have you been gone? I mean, if the Sneel is still here, you must've only been gone for, like, what? A minute? Think about it... Anyway, after you sent Grimer away to whoever you were sending him to, the battle was now an even one vs one. Well... then again, it's not that even, since Nidoran has a huge level advantage over your Aron... AND SO! Battle! Now! Sneel, a heavy steel snake, quickly slivered over to your Aron, ready to pounce and beat the living A out of him. The Sneel used a Headbutt on your Aron, which sent your little steel and rock Pokemon thing sliding across the dirt. Luckily for you, though, your Aron managed to get a Mud-Slap on the Sneel, which did little-to-nothing damage. You lowered its Accuracy, which is always nice, but that didn't stop him from landing another Headbutt. What's worse, is that your Aron got flinched from the attack and was unable to use a second Mud-Slap. Well, that turn didn't go so great, but what did you expect? To pull a miracle in this battle? Nope. You should send out another Pokemon to help Aron.

"So much for having extra defence." was the first thought to enter Jimmy's mind, after watching Aron get thrown around the place like a rag doll. Reaching in for Croagunk's pokeball, Jimmy was met by a sudden emptiness. In his belt was indeed a number of pokeballs, however they contained nothing more than a pathetic Rattata, his under levelled Zephtyrex, a newly hatched genbu...and Beldum. His Nidoran and Croagunk had obviously been sent back to the PC after the Tournament...dammit that wasn't supposed to happen. There was no other option for Jimmy. Aron couldn't handle this battle and he wasn't that arrogant that he was going to blindly keep attacking until Aron was knocked senseless. No, Jimmy would just go for the capture now. He had an Ultra Ball on him, which should secure a capture on this low levelled Sneel. Besides Jimmy had things he wanted to do. As he reached for the Ultra Ball, Jimmy suddenly heard a voice in his head. "Use me you ar'tard!! I'll rip that thing to pieces." It was Beldum obviously, aching to get out his pokeball and do some damage. It did Jimmy's heart good to see his pokemon have the same destructive tenancies as him...even if he hadn't had a chance to cause some chaos yet. Such is the life a new born criminal. So little opportunities. You really did need to make your own... Anyway I digress, back to the matters at hand. "Get out of my head and don't tell me what to do. You'll get your turn when I say you do!!" Jimmy replied, expecting no response. A slight ringing in his ears, Jimmy thought he heard a very low muttering: "When I evolve you are so going to be on the receiving end of a Metal Claw." Looks like Beldum was making his own agenda for evolution...although there was no way he would ever attack his master. Jimmy pulled out the Ultra Ball and threw it high, and threw it fast, waiting for it to meet it's target. Should the Ultra Ball fail, Jimmy no longer required the need to stay in battle and would retreat for further training and strategy on what the best cause of action would be for his future endeavours...yes he was going to run and move tutor. All he had to do was wait. |

And so, after having a brief argument with Beldum, you threw your Ultra Ball at Sneel. You know, from what I've seen so far, when people have Pokemon that can directly communicate with them, their Pokemon always seem to hate the Trainer. Where's the love? Where is the love.. the love.... the love? Anyway, your Ultra Ball flew in the air and hit the Sneel right on its metaly head; talk about a strike =D . The Ultra Ball sucked Sneel against its will inside the ball, and it began to shake. ...Shake... Okay, so far so good. One shake.. we're getting there! ...shake... Ooh, another shake; I think you might be able to catch this Sneel. ...Ding-Nope... The Ultra Ball exploded in the air and sent out Sneel, who was now even more pissed off. Well, not only did you not capture the Sneel, but you also wasted an Ultra Ball on it. Oh well, your attempt at catching the Pokemon failed, so I guess that means you're going to leave, right? Luckily for you, there's a Pokemon Center just around the corner so you can heal your Pokemon and adjust your team. Or, you could try and catch the Sneel again. You could probably sell it to somebody for a good amount of money, but don't let me tell you what to do, you do whatever you want to do. |

[OOC - I'm actually in the Joukai Pass, can my Journey be moved there please?] Angered at the failed attempt on Sneel, Jimmy retreated to the Pokemon Centre and had his pokemon healed. What rotten luck he seemed to be having this day. In his head he could hear Beldum's laughter over his failure. Stupid metal stump. Anyway after healing, Jimmy went over to the nearby PC. Dumping Rattata and Zephtyrex and Genbu, and withdrawing Nidoran, Croagunk and Tentacool, Jimmy's team felt a lot more powerful. Jimmy was now going to train them to make them an even more formidable force. Stepping outside Jimmy walked until he found a nice area, free of trainers. Although he could occasionally hear the rustle of what could've been the wind or a wild pokemon, he wasn't bothered. For now he was going to attempt multiple move tutors so that his pokemon had a better advantage in battle. Beldum, who was close to evolution would be learning Iron Head, just so that his next battle would go a lot smoother. Aron would continue to learn Take Down (It's at 10% now, but not listed in my Profile, I think it's on Page 12) Nidoran would be learning Helping Hand, a move definitely needed in future battles, Tentacool would be learning Water Pulse, and Croagunk would be learning Mud Bomb. Who knows how long it could take, but Jimmy would not be accepting weaklings on his team. Beldum "Alright Beldum, let's start with Iron Head. This is basically like a Headbutt but because you've got a steel head, we can make more of an impact." Jimmy shouted. Making the Headbutt action, Jimmy wanted Beldum to see how a Headbutt was done so he could try it out himself. "Are you stupid!!"Beldum shouted in his ear. "I haven't got a neck to do that. Why don't I just charge forward like a Take Down and see if I can make a solid enough impact on that rock with my head to practice? I'm sure that's the only way I can perform the attack anyway. Do I have to do everything around here?" Beldum finished as he shot off to practise. That little leg was getting too big for his own boots, Jimmy needed to get him back under control. But if he wants to be a dick and teach himself, Jimmy was more than happy to watch him try. Aron Aron had made very little headway in Take Down. But Jimmy figured he just needed to toughen up and strike hard. It was easier than it looked, Aron just needed to know that. "Aron, once again, use Harden to toughen yourself up. Don't forget, you're Rock Head Ability will make sure you won't take recoil damage, so stop being a wimp and charge forward, like a Tackle. Run until you've built up good momentum, then charge at the nearest object." Jimmy yelled. That should do for now...providing the object wasn't a trainer that would interrupt him...then again if Aron knocked him out, Jimmy could get some cash off them. Nidoran First of all, Nidoran had only just been caught, and only been used once. Jimmy needed to talk him through how Helping Hand worked, and doing that, he could explain how he runs things around here. Sitting down next to him, Jimmy started his lecture. "First thing you need to know Nidoran, is winning is everything. There are two types of people in this world, winners, and losers. Are you a loser?" Jimmy asked. Nidoran shook his head, slightly offended his new trainer could even ask such a question. "Good, then understand one this. Winning is everything, and respecting me and the other pokemon with you is the key. Don't believe you are on you're own. Trust you're partners in battle and they will become even stronger. That is how Helping Hand works. Once you trust us, then you will become a valuable ally. Don't ever hinder us." Jimmy finished as he stood back up. Nidoran seemed slightly confused. It was a lot to take in but there seemed to a spark that he understood. "Now Nidoran, Beldum is about to attempt Iron Head. He might not be able to do it if he hasn't got the strength. Trust him and let him know you're there to support him. Use Helping Hand!!" Jimmy yelled as Nidoran seemed to surge with adrenaline. Tentacool Walking over to Tentacool, the jellyfish thing simply stared at him blankly. Only knowing Bubblebeam, this was going to be a tough one. First of all, Jimmy needed him to be able to release a surge of water. "Tentacool, you're a water pokemon. You've lived in water most of you're life and I'm sure you've seen other pokemon using this move, or a Water Gun at least. You need to be able to release a powerful blast of water from within. Focus on you're life in the sea or the river. Remember the other pokemon who attempted this move. Take as long as you need, when you think you're ready try and fire out a single pulse of water. Don't worry about the power for now, just focus on releasing the water inside you." Jimmy said as Tentacool closed his eyes and began to focus. This was gong to be a tough one. Croagunk Finally Jimmy approached Craogunk, who was looking equally as dopey as Tentacool. Jimmy had only used him once, and that saw his defeat at the hands of Darkwing. That was why he needed to make Croagunk stronger. Starting with Mud Bomb was the easiest way to go. "Croagunk, you know a move named Mud Slap right? Well we're going to try and go for a slightly altered variation of that move, Mud Bomb. To use Mud Slap you just hurl mud at you're foe. Well here you do the same thing, but you need to form the mud first to make sure it can explode on contact. First of all, use a Mud Slap but don't just hurl the mud, try and form it into a bubble like shape, before launching it, gottit?" Jimmy said, as he tried to get through to Croagunk. The pokemon simply turned away and went to a spot that looked good to try the attack out. Jimmy had done his part for now. Time to see how they all did. Edited by killaz, Aug 25 2010, 08:18 AM.

Well, this looks to be an interesting group of Pokemon. With the dynamic you've got going with Beldum you two could make an...interesting pair. Well, we've got a lot to do, so let's skip the introduction and get right to the tutoring, shall we? We'll begin with Beldum. The floating metal leg surely has personality, I'll give him that...him...it...whatever. Regardless of his gender (or lack thereof) he was a floating menace...or will be once he learns more moves than Take Down. So the first step to that is to teach him some new moves. And what better way to start than with a move that he pretty much already knows, Iron Head! Beldum was right, he does not have a neck so the headbutting motion you made is a little pointless for him. He decided to just ram into whatever was closest to him, which happened to be a large rock not too far away. He floated around a bit to get some momentum, and bam! Smacked his head right into that thing! Well, it was certainly an impact. There were some cracks around the spot where Beldum smashed into the rock. However, the little guy was reeling a bit from the slight recoil. Looks like he'll have to control his speed and power if he's to master this attack. He will also need to work on hardening his head to the point that recoil is eliminated. Once that's done he can work on controlling his speed so as to cause as much damage to the opponent while avoiding harming himself in any way at all. Still, it was a great start and you're on your way! Iron Head - 35% Aron is up next. Already having some prior tutoring, he's got some experience with this attack, limited as it may be. Still, he wanted to impress you, so he'd throw in his all. Hearing your slight abuse, he was even more motivated to prove to you that he had value and was a tough Pokemon. Looking around all he saw to charge was the same rock Beldum was aiming for. He back up a bit, lowered his head, and charged! Well, sort of. He ran as fast as his stumpy little legs would carry him, hardening his head in the process. He hit the rock with some force, but not too much. It was certainly stronger than a Tackle, but it was no Take Down. That's alright though, all he needs to do is work on building his momentum. He was a bit surprised that he didn't get hurt with recoil, so this small realization may lead to a faster learning curve. Take Down - 25% Third we have Nidoran. He listened to your speech about winners and losers and was determined to prove himself a winner in your eyes. He looked at the other Pokemon around him and began to view them as friends and comrades. He then heard what you said about Helping Hand and nodded. He saw Beldum flying towards the rock and began to cheer himn on, giving him his support. It didn't seem to do much of anything, however, so Nidoran was a bit discouraged. However, he grasped the idea of helping out his friends and partners, and he saw your other Pokemon as his new friends to whom he could give his trust, so that's something, right? Helping Hand - 15% Fourth on our list is Tentacool. He did in fact remember his life in the water, and he had seen many Pokemon use Water Pulse before. However, he himself never knew how to shoot water other than in bubble form. So he decided that to shoot a single burst of water he'd need to try and shoot them all together...sort of. He took in a deep breath, formed the bubbles, and shot out. They were in a more condensed form, however they had very little power and you could still sort of see the individual bubbles. Still, he was getting there. He'd need to work on power and keeping the attack's form, but this was a start for sure. Water Pulse - 15% Finally, we have Croagunk. The frog stood there, remembering his loss to Manuel's Darkwing, but your voice brought him back to reality. He listened to what you had to say, and it seemed to make sense, so he walked around and found a good muddy spot. He dug his hands into the ground, picked up the mud, and hurled it at the closest object he could see, a tree. The mud was in more or less a spherical shape when he grabbed it, but shortly after releasing the mud it fell apart. Hrmm, he'd need to work on keeping the mud's form, but he had the throwing part down. Mud Bomb - 20% Overall you'd done pretty well. Well, sort of. You still had a long way to go with pretty much everyone, but you all had the fundamentals, now you can build upon what you've just laid down. |

Seems like this was going to be more difficult than it looked. None of Jimmy's pokemon had done surprisingly well and were all struggling with the concept of the moves they needed to learn. What tactics could Jimmy initialise to help them overcome their difficulties. He would have to dumb things down and take things step by step with each pokemon, he was in no rush anyway so he plenty of time to train them. Beldum Seeing Beldum smash himself full force into a rock, Jimmy couldn't help but laugh slightly, even if Beldum did shoot him a menacing look. Damn metal stump deserved it anyway, always thinking he's the best. Having researched the moves earlier Jimmy quickly recapped over them in his head before informing his pokemon. Iron Head. A simple headbutt but from a steel plated head, simple enough. "Beldum did you know that Iron Head can cause flinching, that means you need to..." Jimmy started, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, control my speed, control my power *yawn* Why don't I, instead of just smashing the rock, launch forward and just as I am about to hit the rock, lower my head slightly to the hardest part of it, see if that does anything?" Beldum interrupted. It was a half decent idea. Jimmy decided to finish what he was going to say anyway, regardless of what Beldum thought "Okay try that, but also try and see if you can locate a particular soft spot on the rock, launch at it a couple of times, the soft spot on an enemy normally would receive a critical, but it may also induce a flinch, understand?" Jimmy commanded, Beldum nodded, agreeing for once. He dashed off to practise, and Jimmy moved onto the next pokemon Aron Aron still wasn't getting anywhere. He could do a more powerful Tackle but that was it. "Come on Aron this is simple" Jimmy shouted. "Don't think too hard about anything. Just focus, and charge with all you're might. You need to build momentum okay, like the Long Jump in sports. In Long Jump you run as fast as you can up until a wooden board where you launch yourself forward. The trick there is to find the right distance to run so that when you reach the board you running the fastest you can go. Start too close to the board and you won't build enough momentum, but too far away from the board and you'll begin to run out of energy and run slower. You understand? Have three tries at that rock again. Each time pick a different distance and see if you can find your momentum." Jimmy ordered. It shouldn't take Aron too long to figure it out. Simple trial and error would help him prevail. Nidoran Looks like Jimmy's speech had sunk in and Nidoran was willing to work with others more now. That was good and all but he hadn't actually been able to do anything. It was a tricky move to learn. It's easy to cheer someone on, but Jimmy wasn't trying to teach Cheer, he wanted to teach Helping Hand. The end result of the move is the receiving pokemon's stats increasing slightly. How could he get Nidoran to accomplish that? Same as Croagunk perhaps, remind him of his wins and losses. "Nidoran, remember Manuel's Monferno?" Jimmy asked. Nidoran nodded in pride, of course he did, Nidoran mopped the floor with him. "Good, remember that confidence and pride you felt on that win, that's what you want your partner pokemon feeling during battle. Letting your fellow pokemon know you're there should give them the strength they need you got it. Remember your victory, truly concentrate on it and see if you can use that pride to help Beldum once again. Whenever your ready, release your pride and try a Helping Hand!!" Jimmy finished. All this talk of helping your fellow pokemon was starting to make Jimmy feel sick, so he decided to move onto his next pokemon. Tentacool Out of all the pokemon so far, Jimmy felt that Tentacool had made the most progress. He had managed to change his attack slightly, and that was a start. All he needed for now was to condense the form properly so it was a large blast of water, rather than bubbles. "All right Tentacool not bad, maybe you're not just the brainless jellyfish I thought you were." Jimmy started. Tentacool looked offended, but he was going to have to man up and accept it until he proved Jimmy wrong. "You've got some sort of Water Pulse going on. You can sort of form it but not properly. For now, let's not worry about the power. That'll be easy once you've learnt how to actually fire a Water Pulse. I'm guessing you have seen a Water Pulse before by how you initiated the attempt just now, which is helpful. Now then as a water pokemon with no actual water moves, just bubbles, you need to really focus on finding the water, it is in you I promise. You need to teach yourself to form a large blast of water. Really focus Tentacool. You're close to the level where you would learn it anyway so the water must be starting to build in you. Find it, release all it at once. Find, Form, and Release. When you're ready, go." Jimmy finished. He found himself slightly whispering the last part as he noticed Tentacool closing his eyes and beginning to focus. Good. Jimmy wondered if he could form the water this time round. Croagunk Finally Jimmy came to his last pokemon, who seemed to have started playing in the muddy patch. Jimmy coughed as he noticed and Croagunk jumped to attention, hoping to prevent being scolded. Jimmy wasn't prepared to raise his voice right now, he just needed Croagunk to listen and learn. "Okay you've got the mud...that's a start I guess." Jimmy started. Croagunk seemed to quite playful, maybe he could teach him via a game. "Do you know what a snowball is Croagunk?" Jimmy asked. His pokemon shook his head. Bingo. Jimmy was going to teach Croagunk how to form mud and keep it together. "Well a snowball is formed from snow, sort of like white mud. You need to pick up the snow and squeeze it together and roll it around you're hands to make a ball, like this." Jimmy stopped as he knelt down in the mud and scooped it up in his hands, squashing it together until it looked like it wouldn't fall apart. Rolling it in his hands it took ball form. Showing it to Croagunk, Jimmy didn't know what to do with it, so he threw it at him, the mud breaking apart on contact. Croagunk looked startled and Jimmy laughed. It was the first time he had laughed properly in ages. Controlling himself he gestured for Crogunk to do the same. Croagunk went to do the same. Croagunk simply grabbed some mud and threw it at Jimmy's face, screaming with lafter. Wiping the mud off, Jimmy wasn't impressed. "Maybe now you wanna try doing it properly...let's have a contest. Whoever makes the most mud balls and in the right shape wins. You have two minutes. Go!!" Jimmy yelled. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, but he was having fun. Hopefully this would teach Croagunk how to shape the mud, keep it together and be able to do it quickly. As he announced go he started to make mud balls of his own. He was going to win. Beldum seemed to really want to do his own thing. But he tried his hardest to remain in boundaries with you. So, he tried his way and your way at the same time. He tried locating a certain spot--specifically the soft spot, or weakest point. However, just looking at a rock and telling that was a little more difficult then saying. Never the less, Beldum tried. He launched himself towards the rock where he thought that special point would be. However, as he lowered his head more, and smashed into the rock, only chips started to fly. In fact, it was so close to what looked to be the soft spot. Amazingly done! However, there was still a bit of recoil, and Beldum swayed in mid-air. Iron Head at 60% Aron was getting there. In a slow sense. He was seemingly done with the recoil factor, at such an early stage. However, the tricky momentum just was getting him down. So, he tried three times. The first time, he was running to close to his target. The second time, he was too far and ran out of energy. After taking a few minute's break, he tried for a third time. Finding a relatively close spot that fit his liking, he tried once more. He was lucky enough to keep the recoil factor away. He also made a big improvement. But something was missing. Maybe some more momentum and a little more power. Take Down at 60% Nidoran, nidoran, nidoran. Helping Hand was a move that would boost an ally. He seemed to have gotten a good start, and with his new friends, he was only hoping to grow. He listened to you again, and found Aron as a new target. Starting to cheer him on, Nidoran looked as if he was a kid at the carnival. However, in his language, he was seemingly telling Aron about the feeling he had of victory and that he can do it! Helping Hand at 40% Tentacool tried listening and at the same time, fiddle around with his power. He realized you were right. He was getting to the level, so he must be more useful then he thought. Trying now, he seemed to take several moments in thinking about it and crafting of a certain shape. He took a deep breath and popped out a small field of bubbles, and the last one had others connected. A second try, and he was finally making some art with his bubbles. They seemed to be in a ring-like shape. Other then that, he hadn't made much progress. Water Pulse 20% Croagunk heard about this contest, and wanted to win. At first, the frog was rolling or pressing too hard. This caused the mud to seep out from it's fingers. After a while, he started getting the hang of it. Don't think he is getting too far. The mud spheres he started making were small, and he couldn't get them up to size just yet. Maybe work on it again. Mud Bomb at 35% |

Jimmy was now starting to lose patience. This was taking longer than expected. Grimer had learned during combat. Maybe that was why he mastered it easier. Because he had the pressure of needing to win. Maybe that would work as well. In an open area, there were sure to be wild pokemon around, and Beldum and Aron needed to learn to control power and momentum in order to achieve their targets. Seeing as how they needed to do similar things to learn their moves, a battle maybe just what they needed. So shouting over to them, Jimmy made his orders. "Beldum, Aron, initiate combat. Find a wild pokemon and practise the moves you're trying to learn. Remember the basics. Aron, I want you to expend as much energy as possible into using each Take Down. Remember what I've said, use you're momentum to deliver Take Down, and put as much energy as you can into it to get more power!! Beldum you need to remeber that this ISN'T Take Down. As such I want you to find a wild pokemon and use a Take Down so that Aron can see how it should be done!! Hopefully it should show you how different these attacks are. I then want you to Focus on you're Defence, and try for an Iron Head one more time!!" Nidoran This was Nidoran's chance to shine. If Aron and Beldum began to battle wild pokemon they would need a hand...a Helping Hand that is (bad pun is bad XD) Maybe seeing his partners in battle, taking damage would inspire Nidoran to use the move properly. It's a strange and unexplainable event where a pokemon overcomes all fears and worries to help it's friends when they need it. Maybe Nidoran would feel these emotions and come to his friend's aid. But to truly experiance friendship, Nidoran needed to make that decision on his own, so Jimmy simply gave him a nod and walked off, leaving Nidoran looking confused and wondering why he hadn't recieved orders. He's know soon enough. Tentacool Tentacool was getting nowhere quickly. It had made the least progress so far and seemed to be completely stuck on forming a single pulse of water. Jimmy was beginning to run out of ideas. If he could only make Tentacool fire out water rather then bubbles than they could make some headway, but he couldn't. "Tentacool, come on, I know you can do this. One shot!! One shot of water. You're falling behind. Even I can spit out water!!" Jimmy yelled angrilly as he spat to the floor. "There must be water inside you naturally, everything in this world is made up of water, and as a water pokemon you have an added advantage. Just really focus. Imagine you're under a waterfall. You're becoming one with it. You're body is starting to become one, a giant torret of water just raging, without a care in the world. That's the water you have inside you. Find it, become one with it, and let it out, in one single, powerful blast of water. That's Water Pulse. Remain calm. Focus. You can do this!!" Croagunk Croagunk had managed to achieve exactly what Jimmy had wanted for now. He had got the hand of rolling mud balls. Now he needed to make them bigger and be able to throw them far and hard so they can break on impact. "Alright Croagunk, now you can make mud balls, lets see how big you can make them. I'll bet you can't make any THIS big!!" Jimmy mocked him, stretching his arms out a fair way, about the size Jimmy thought a Mud Bomb would be. Croagunk seemed ready for the challenge. After he had mastered size, he could work on the final part, the throwing. With all the orders set, Jimmy once again, sat back and watched as his plans unfolded. |

Switching tactics from straight tutoring to a battle. Do not forget that sometimes battling and tutoring do not really mix, in that it goes slower. However, in this case, it should go rather quickly. As you searched for a pokemon to pit against Beldum and Aron, there seemed to be absolutely nothing. However, finally the patience paid off. Remember that Croagunk family a long time ago? Well, it wasn't them. It was Sandshrew this time! Oh yeah, a mean family of rough-skinned mice. Fear them! The twin Sandshrew crawled out from the grass, and looked very dirty. Clearly, they had been rolling around, or playing with piles of dirt. Normal for little kids and Sandshrew, of course. When they turned, they spotted you. It was kind of intimidating, probably, since they moved at the same time and never missed a beat. Their tiny bodies were definitely roughly the proportions of Beldum and Aron, in the fact that they were all kind of short and little. However, they seemed to want a fight. Your lucky day; wanting a fight, you found two pokemon wanting to find a fight. Must be destiny. Immediately, Beldum was ready. Your Beldum definitely didn't seem like one of those sissy pokemon, which would allow little mice pokemon to scare it. So instead, it went on the initiative. Lowering it's head, or rather body, it started to hover quickly over and used a Take Down on the first Sandshrew, or the one on the left. Aron seemed to cock his head to the side, and maybe had been taking mental notes. It seemed to be his turn to try, but Beldum didn't seize to allow time for that. Beldum hastily focused on his body, making it harder for Defense. The petit chunk of steel rammed the Sandshrew in the back, and even though it looked as if it was a surprise, the Sandshrew tried using a Strike--only to miss. Beldum blinked, and it was meant as a frown. He didn't have the flinch factor and he needed the littlest bit of more power; he kind of knew he needed a little more strength. However, this round seemed like a big energy dropper for the steel type. But it still seemed to be taking on the Sandshrew fine! Aron had been taking notes, and started to move. He lowered his head and aimed directly at the Sandshrew. Luckily, the mentioned mouse was examining his buddy, who was nearly taken apart in two from the Beldum. In this situation, it was only right for the surprise to be powerful! Aron leaped over the remaining inches, once he had reached the mouse. The impact knocked the mouse back far, and Aron took balance. However, you started to notice Aron almost falling. It seems that he had gotten some recoil, which was in the description of Take Down. Meaning, he was only getting there. Maybe another try or so. The recoil was coming around, but it wasn't something to really work too. The power was slightly off. Sandshrew was rolling on the ground, in pain. When it got up, he used Focus. That seemed to end things between them. Battle Statistics Nidoran definitely looked confused. You left and moved on to the next pokemon; probably Tentacool. He had turned to spot the battle between his friends Beldum and Aron and the twin Sandshrew. He tried running to them, but by the time he got there, they had already performed all of their attacks. So instead, he told them (in their own lanuage, of course) about winning and how important it seemed to be. The Beldum and Aron nodded at Nidoran, and you took it as he told them about it. Maybe he promised to help boost them in the next round. However, he did find some progress from sharing the feelings of winning. Helping Hand » 45% Your tone seemed to have scolded the jellyfish pokemon. Tentacool cringed at the words and tone coming from you. However, when you were done, he figured it all made sense. A change had occured; from cringing to a slight form of a smile. Whichever it came to be with you, it seemed to be helping him focus. As you, assumingly moved on, he sat and tried to think about what you said. A waterfall. In Tentacool's mind, he could do this. In your faith, he could do this. In his mind, he focused on being on a rock--maybe sitting. His relaxation was there, but then the water came on. A raging waterfall came, and on reality, Tentacool flinched. However, he resumed in the imaginative world, and he believed a waterfall had been falling on him. Searching inside, and thinking about the feeling of the water, Tentacool started to spill water from his mouth. Next, Tentacool's eyes shot open as if he just had an awakening dream--which could be the situation. He tried shooting water out, and with all the power he could manage right now. The water came out in a weak stream, but not in a small amount. It flowed to a point, and then arched. It was more then your saliva, but nothing like Water Gun or Hydro Pump. But it was very good progress. Maybe even Acid could help. He had to spray it out, but maybe Tentacool can remember how to build it up (but with water) and shoot it out more as a liquid then a mist. Maybe even Bubblebeam can help, since he needs water to use it. Water Pulse » 35% Your challenges really did encourage the frog pokemon to continue. He wanted to prove to you that he could manage. Starting to make the mud spheres, he began to perfect little ones. But then he looked up and had seem the size you boasted with your hands. He wanted to make one like that, so bad, they he sat down and really focused. Several minutes later, you had a sphere of mud that seemed to be slopping all over, but at least it had gotten to the size of your head. Croagunk smiled, hoping you'd be pleased. Then again, he could be smiling knowing that he has to take a bath. Croagunk made some good progress getting the "bomb" bigger, but maybe it was time working on the actual move. If I remember right, it does damage and can cause a loss in Accuracy. However, maybe he should work on throwing it and keeping it in a ball shape, and hope it explodes or expands outward. Things like that seemed very important, because the loss in accuracy may be easy since mud isn't so transparent (duh!). Mud Bomb » 45% Edited by Kazuki, Sep 27 2010, 10:45 PM.

(OOC - Aron has Rock Head, so he doesn't take Recoil Damage btw :P) Again, very little progress made with most of the pokemon, but Aron and Beldum had made good progress so that was something. The Sandshrew twins didn't seem much like opponents...which for the first time was a good thing, because the easier these two were to beat, the less stress Beldum and Aron would be under. Aron seemed to need just a slight bit more power in order to fully learn the move. Previously Jimmy had asked Aron to Focus on Defence, so the small metal pokemon would charge at full strength and not worry about the recoil damage it thought it would take. Now that it seemed to realise that it didn't take recoil damage, Jimmy needed Aron to Focus on his attack so that he understood how much power was needed, after that he should be finished. Beldum and Aron Beldum seemed to have figured out the difference between Take Down and Iron Head, but he needed more to fully understand the technique. Since it caused flinching, it needed to hit certain points that caused the other pokemon pain. Thinking this to himself Jimmy was about to tell Beldum before he heard the annoying stump's voice in his head. "Oh I get it, you want me to try and cause a flinch, if that's possible then it means I've got it. Well I think if you order me to use Iron Head, this time I'll go for the middle of Sandshrew's stomach, that looks like a soft spot!" Beldum seemed to actually agree with Jimmy for once, and even seemed to be offering Jimmy advice on where to attack. It seemed Beldum really did want to get stronger, so much so he was actually keeping calm. "If that's you're choice fine, but also go for the head. The shock value should result in a flinch as well. Go for the strongest Sandshrew" Jimmy said, allowing Beldum to do as he was ordered. The head was a good spot on most pokemon as it was soft spot at the right points and the shock of being hit in the head should knock them off balance. Turning to Aron, Jimmy knew what orders to give. "Okay Aron, this is it, Focus on your Attack, and once more charge in with a Take Down. By raising you're power you should know just how much you need which should be enough to finally allow you to perfect this technique. Target the weakest Sandshrew." Jimmy ordered. It was up to Aron and Beldum now, they knew what to do. Nidoran This was exhausting work. Jimmy wished he had decided to teach it something easier, rather than something he had to keep giving speeches about. Nidoran was making little progress. He had sort of realised on his own about helping out Beldum and Aron, but had got their too late. Unsure of how to proceed with this one, Jimmy decided to just wing it. "Okay Nidoran, you need to understand you're strength is like a ball. You can pass it onto others if you so will it, or you can keep it to yourself. Think about that for a bit and see if you want to pass your ball onto Beldum and Aron." Jimmy said, shocked that he had come out with something like that. Thinking about it, it actually made sense. Although it sounded like something some pansy pokemon trainer would say to his pokemon for motivation...in some cheesy film. Nevertheless, if it worked it worked, and right now that was all Jimmy cared about. Tentacool "Okay let's try a new approach." Jimmy said, as he walked over to Tentacool. He clearly wasn't grasping this, and although he had produced a small amount of water, Jimmy had seen Snorlax's drool more than that. "You know the ability Acid right? Try and build up the water similar to how you would build up Acid, and when you fire, think about how you fire Bubblebeam. You need a certain amount of force behind it, in order to shoot the bubbles. Remember, build up water like Acid, and fire like Bubblebeam. Try it out!"Jimmy finished. That was all he could do for now. Onto Croagunk. Croagunk Croagunk had mastered shaping the mud and shaping the size of the mud. Now for the final test. Launching the mud, with enough power it can explode on contact. "Okay Croagunk right now I want you to Focus on you're Attack!" Jimmy started. That should help with the throwing. "Now I want you to take that Mud Ball you've made and throw it as hard and as far as you can. If you can try jumping before you throw it, that should help it explode on contact. You need to be able to get some distance, which I'll mark out for you. If you can get it that far, then you win. Deal?" Jimmy continued, again challenging Croagunk to a game. Taking 5 long strides, Jimmy made his first mark. Not too far from Croagunk. Then taking 10 long strides from that mark, Jimmy made another mark. "These are you're targets. If you can throw them this far and can get them to explode, then you win. Try and go for power more than distance though, that's the most important!!" Jimmy shouted. That was it for now. He had made all his orders and it was up to his pokemon to decide if they had the brains to figure it out. After this was over Jimmy was going to head to Peddleton to challenge the Leader. He seemed pretty weak and Jimmy could use a laugh. Edited by killaz, Sep 28 2010, 12:26 PM.

This time around, Nidoran started to use his move first. That was something rather important, right? Your Beldum and Aron could definitely get the help needed in power if Nidoran could really improve the Helping Hand. As you told Nidoran about his power, it snapped to him. It seems that your simile/metaphor really worked. He cheered, and tried to force the energetic feeling from him. In moments, Beldum and Aron were seemingly dancing in place (not like a heavy dance). Nidoran -- Helping Hand » 70% On to the battle! After Nidoran had shared the energy with the two battlers representing you, they were ready for anything. Beldum had found his own tactic that would seem to work well. However, was it really that easy for a chunk of steel to float through the air and hit a Sandshrew in the belly, without any block or dodge from the mouse? It seemed crazy, and had a very slim chance of working. If it did, Beldum could very well be super close to learning the move Iron Head. Tilting his head, and aiming for the soft belly of the Sandshrew, Beldum launched himself. The steel chunk made his way from point A to B, and just at the sight of it, Sandshrew nearly flinched and ran away. However, the move knocked Sandshrew in the side, more then direct belly. It was because he tried moving. Oh well, it still seemed to work. Luckily, Beldum also seemed to have found the power to cause Flinching. The Sandshrew started coughing, and didn't want to attack. You knew this by the coughing and the pfft noise that the mouse spat out. Aron was getting close too. He had stayed still, and focused on his attack stat. Wanting to increase his attack would definitely help him. But some other force had been helping him now too. It was Nidoran! The Helping Hand tutor that the purple pokemon was doing was coming along really well. The pokemon had understood you and found the power to force his strength along. When Aron started to go to the Sandshrew, it knew something bad was about to hit it. From the force of Focus, plus Helping Hand, and with a C rank power... Aron made a devastating impact! The increase in strength showed him what it truly was to make the move, and the pokemon of steel nodded to you, allowing you to know that he had it. All the Sandshrew retorted with was two Defense Curls, trying to pre-long it's life! Battle Statistics The elaborate plan for Tentacool had, at first, confused it. You were asking for three different moves. Acid, Bubblebeam, and Water Pulse. After a few moments, Tentacool nodded towards you, but his nod was slow as if he was still confused. This pokemon would definitely have to break down what you said, in order to effectively get it. Build like Acid; force like Bubblebeam; should equal better Water Pulse attempt. Finding the poison inside of himself, Tentacool built it up. He would shoot it, but used it as a reminder of how. Then he forced out a little bit of a bubblebeam; again, to remind him of the force. Then he tried to put it all together. In moments, the Tentacool focused on building water as natural as the Acid was. It built up more and more, piling within it's body. Then with Bubblebeam; the force of that move would have to have the water burst out. As long as he could keep it water, and not bubbles. After what seemed to you as five or ten minutes (without a watch), the jellyfish pokemon tried to put it all together. He had built the water up like Acid, and tried finding the force like Bubblebeam, and then tried using Water Pulse. The water shot out, and at a pretty good speed for a beginner. It looked more like a bigger and better Water Gun, but definitely not Water Pulse. Water Pulse » 60% The blue frog pokemon examined each marker that you made for it to try and toss the mud. It sounded so easy, but he knew it would prove to be very hard. At first, he wanted to beat the first marker. Gathering mud, and crafting a good size ball, Croagunk went to pick it up. That is where his problems started. He made a big ball of mud, but the mud wasn't as hard as you'd think. By the time he went to grab it, his hand was going into it almost. However, he finally managed to pick up the pieces and put it back together before trying to throw it. He made it just before the first marker. A big frown swept his face; but the frog had determination. Crafting another, he tried again, but this time jumped. The sphere of mud nearly broke and splattered all over himself, but the Croagunk kept it together and had launched it. The ball went a little over the first line, and the impact made half the ball splatter, before the rest simply melted back to the ground. Mud Bomb » 60% Edited by Kazuki, Oct 4 2010, 01:14 PM.

Finally...finally Beldum and Aron had master their two moves...perfect. It was time now...time for Beldum to clear house and evolve into Metang. With such an increase in power and moves, Beldum would become an ultimate sweeper, all he had to do now...was win. But that shouldn't be too difficult, not now he had mastered Iron Head. "Beldum...time to take down these stupid mice. Knock out the weakest one with an Iron Head, then Iron Head the stronger one. Show them our power!!" Jimmy yelled, adrenaline pumping through him at the sight of their mastery. "Aron, three Take Downs, all on the strongest one...make sure it doesn't get back up." Jimmy finished. That felt a lot better. Tired of that stupid "You must believe in friendship" s**t Jimmy decided he needed to finish these pokemon off and go find somewhere to wreck havoc...Peddleton should do...maybe a couple of battles, some hustling for some money, before breaking in somewhere and upgrading his arsenal with items...a pokemart would probably be the best choice for that. Jimmy also wanted to find John Ranson...the man who had sent him on some wild goose chase awhile ago to pick up a stupid cardboard box. Angered at how foolish he must have looked, Jimmy wanted revenge. He was a lot more powerful now, and could handle anything John could throw at him. Jimmy knew he was in the Joukai Pass somewhere. If the two should run into each other, John would be left in a bloodied mess. Anyway back to the tasks at hand. His orders set, Jimmy moved onto to the next pokemon, commanding his attention. Nidoran Sick and tired of all the s**t he had been saying to Nidoran, Jimmy decided to use the tactics he should have used earlier. Walking up to Nidoran, he sat beside the pokemon, and began to talk. "Did you see what just happened there Nidoran? You almost managed it. You managed to provide a slight boost that resulted in the mastery of their moves and did some serious damage. Did you feel their power? That massive, awe-inspiring power that lasted only but a mere second? That was a result of you. How does it feel? Being able to produce such a mass energy that it can power whomever you choose. It's an amazing skill and one you NEED to master, understand? Raw power...that's all you'll ever need." Hopefully, that would inspire Nidoran to keep trying and master the move. Once again ordering Nidoran to use a Helping Hand attempt on Aron, Jimmy walked on, over to yet another pokemon who needed his attention. Tentacool The jellyfish was finally starting to get it. Shooting out some water after concentrating for ages was like a dream come true. Now he needed it to be stronger and more like a single pulse, rather than a stream. "Okay Tentacool, not bad at all. But now you don't need to stream it like a Water Gun, although it's a good start I guess. Try it again and remember the routine. Build up water...like Acid, shoot like Bubblebeam. Do that until you can easily summon up water...I can't be waiting ten minutes each round in a real battle for you to do this, so you need to feel comfortable with shooting out water. Then here's what I want you to do...build up the water like Acid, and keep building it up...then hold it in, like when you piss (do pokemon pee?) Hold it in until you can't any longer, and then, burst it out in one go...that should resemble a Water Pulse." Jimmy finished. Not a bad plan, if he did think so himself. Building up water and holding it in should increase the pressure inside. Once it comes out, it should be a mighty torrent of powerful water...hopefully this would work Croagunk Big improvements all round this time. Croagunk was no exception. He had managed to get it past the first marker which was good, now he had to bypass the rest. Jimmy was quite proud of his team right now. He hated slackers and thought this training regime would show him who couldn't keep up. But seeing how hard they had worked, Jimmy knew he wouldn't need to replace any of these right now, good...good. Having received Grimer back from his training programme, Jimmy wondered if maybe Grimer could show Croagunk his Sludge Bomb, maybe seeing how it impacts and stays in form would help Croagunk master his ability. Releasing Grimer, Jimmy instructed Grimer on what to do. Looking as serious as always, Grimer did not find this as amusing as Croagunk did. This was simply training and nothing else. As he prepared a Sludge Bomb, Jimmy began to mentor Croagunk. "Alright watch Grimer okay. Mud Bomb and Sludge Bomb are basically the same, except for the substances used to make them. Watch how Grimer keeps the sludge intact, how he throws it, and how it breaks on impact. Then I want you to Focus on Accuracy and Power, and try one more time. Gottit!! Betcha can't beat Grimer!" Jimmy challenged Croagunk, getting back up and moving a safe distance away so as not to be covered in Sludge or Mud. A good challenge would be helpful to both pokemon, and a friendly rivalry between the two would make them stronger and more effective at tag battles. Let's see what happens this time round. |

Nidoran listened to every thing you said. You talked an awful lot about the power. As much as the Nidoran found this to be encouraging, and partially a praise, he still had a bit to go before he could say he was doing it perfect. However, through your words, you never said who to exactly aim for. Instinctively, Nidoran aimed his anxious, and eager learning towards Aron. He boasted about the feeling of victory, and power, and helping. As it would seem, Aron got the message. To see the results, you'll have to read the next part of the ref. But, I actually won't do that to you and hold you in suspense. Instead, let's tell you how the poison type did. Nidoran put his heart into helping Aron, and really stressed about winning and power. From your words, the purple, four-legged pokemon knew you quested for power. As powerful as Nidoran came to be, he helped Aron improve. And along with it, the gap closed between Nidoran and success. It was serious determination, and he did it. Nidoran -- Helping Hand » 100% Learned Up first for the battle was Beldum. His chunk of steel body had just learned a move that was sure to be troublesome for future enemies. It was a pain, for them, and a fortune for you. He lowered his eye/head, and floated towards the weakest sandshrew. It knocked the fatigued mouse backwards, damaging it for a good amount. It held it's stomach, feeling a massive pain. The Iron Head, second use, knocked the stronger mouse. It knocked it back quite the distance, and finished it. The Sandshrew stopped moving, and stopped trying to get up to fight! Aron was next, and it could very well end this battle! You mentioned using Take Down on the strongest, but the strongest was already taken down. So now, it was the next best thing! Aron rushed over, tilting his steel-chunk head and bashed the Sandshrew's torso! The move was so strong, combined with Helping Hand, that Aron finished the mouse in one blow, saving energy. Looks like the battle is over; let's see what you get!! received 20 ![]() Grew to Level 20, with 5.75 left over! What's this? Beldum is glowing--and evolved! Holding it in, Tentacool soon looked like a bloated balloon. When he couldn't take it, the water burst out in a powerful stream of water. It wasn't as light as Water Gun, but bigger. Something was missing. Oh yes, the supersonic waves. Whether it needed more power, or some help with the waves; it was up to you.
