This was just the opportunity Jimmy had been waiting for. A cunning smile spread across Jimmy's face, almost the exact same time Grimer gave a sly smile, as Croagunk's hand became stuck within Grimer's sludgy body. It was almost too good to be true.

"Well, isn't this interesting." Jimmy said to the Croagunk, as the pokemon struggled to free itself. "Looks like you've gotten yourself stuck. I'd offer you assistance, but...I don't to." Jimmy laughed to himself as he wondered on his next move. With the pokemon stuck, both Beldum and Grimer should have no problem hitting hard and accurate this round. This was the perfect time for an all out assault. Beldum had pumped itself up, but this would only last another round or two. The time to strike was now.

"Hahaha alright then, you guys ready." Jimmy said slowly and queitly. "Beldum, use three Take Down attacks, hit that Croagunk with full force. Grimer, use two Pound attacks, I don't expect you to miss." Jimmy finished. He realised that with Croagunk stuck, it would only take a slight miscalculation and Beldum would pound straight into Grimer. Thus, taking a Potion out, Jimmy decided to heal Grimer, just to be safe. He wasn't going to risk his pokemon being knocked out. Even if victory seemed absolute. With the orders set, it was only matter of time. Croagunk wouldn't last much longer. It couldn't. The odds were too stacked against it.

Having Croagunk stuck was a huge advantage, on your part. However, it was only if Beldum did not do too much on Grimer, and if the frog couldn't escape. You didn't plan on it escaping, however, it had some strength too it, especially for the Grimer. It was six levels higher, and was clearly stronger then the sludge-like pokemon. Not being able to use most of it's moves, the Croagunk only used a quick Strike, panicking a little.

But your Beldum was right on it's way. Thinking about how things could go down, Grimer let his grip loosen very lightly. As the hunk of steel knocked into the side of Croagunk's head, with some good accuracy, it put the frog flying towards the ground. Grimer had let go, or maybe it was the force that knocked Croagunk out. Either way, Grimer was ok and still had time to get in there. Before he could, Beldum piled down on the frog like a meteor, trying to almost kill it with the consecutive Take Downs. Using two pounds, he didn't miss. Unfortunately, the grip was canceled, and Croagunk was free to roam.

Too bad it was knocked on the side of his skull, allowing a critical hit and it not wanting to get up with a huge headache. You definitely did a number on this guy, and now I'd say would be a good time to capture him if you want too.

Now was the time to finish this battle. Beldum had hit hard and dealt a lot of damage. Now it was Grimer's turn to attack. Attacking with three Pounds, coupled with two Take Downs from Beldum should ensure a victory. And then Jimmy would go in for the capture. Hopefully things would go smoothly this round, so that Jimmy could head to Joukai Pass. He had heard about the Tournament of Aegis, which he had missed the date for last time. Perhaps this year he would participate and wipe up. Then again, he didn't have enough pokemon to enter into a Tier. Shame. Jimmy would've loved to see his opponent's faces as he beat them one after another.

"Nevermind." Jimmy thought to himself. Back to the matters at hand. "Beldum, two Take Downs. Grimer, three Pound attacks. Lets end this." Jimmy yelled. No way could Croagunk survive this round. Jimmy pulled out yet another pokeball, in order to make a final capture attempt. That would mean all three Croagunk's belonged to him. He would sell off two of them and keep the stronger one for himself. It would certainly come in useful in the near future. So, waiting for his pokemon to attack, Jimmy anticipated the end of yet another battle.

With a special offer on at the Zaroff Lottery, Jimmy decided to send off for 5 tickets:

1, 7, 11, 17, 23
3, 9, 15, 26, 30
2, 5, 9, 20, 27
6, 12, 18, 24, 29
4, 13, 16, 25, 28

Perhaps another win was on it's way.

You definitely should participate in the Tournament. Meet new people, see new pokemon, and gain things like levels. Well, it's up to you. Most likely you would not be in a tier I could be in--I have much weaker pokemon then you, and am kind of jealous of the levels. I need to train my own. Bah, enough about me and let's get on with this battle.

You thought right, mister. Croagunk could not survive this round. Beldum swopped in for one Take Down, and the Croagunk was hit. When the hunk of steel came back, Croagunk was merely standing on pure legs from stiffness. Grimer went in, and Croagunk could only use a Focus to raise it's defense. Not that it mattered, it was over within minutes. The frog fell to the ground, only to be greeted by a device known as a Pokeball. It took no time at all for the pokemon to be captured. It seemed this Croagunk is your highest level, though Beldum may always remain your strongest attacker--and overall tank.

But with the battle over, and you wanting to get to Joukai Pass, you had a few decisions on your hands. Go to Joukai Pass... or go back to Nogou and heal up first. Up to you, of course.

You won the battle of the Croagunk family, and I will damned if I do not give you the right experience. So, here I go trying to pursue my job as Moderator, not a math teacher.

So the battle was won. With a powerful pokemon under his belt Jimmy decided he would enter the Tournament. Perhaps he would battle last years champion. What a match that would be. Realising he hadn't attached the Poison Barb to Grimer yet, he gave the item to his pokemon and returned them, deciding to head on towards Joukai. His pokemon would naturally heal up as long as he didn't enter a battle too soon. Battles were not Jimmy's main interest right now though, although Beldum looked like it was ready to evolve soon...it would certainly be helpful in the Tournament, as having some moves that didn't harm Jimmy's own pokemon would certainly be beneficial. But with such a short time until the Tournament, there would be no time to find and win a battle.

"Doesn't matter." Jimmy thought to himself as he picked up the pokeballs containing the three Croagunk he had just captured. "Beldum can handle himself against anyone." As long as his opponent doesn't abuse fire types, Jimmy should be fine.

Beginning to walk towards the Pass, Jimmy observed the surroundings as he thought about his next step. He wanted to get to Joukai to find some unique pokemon, and trainers. However with the Tournament, Jimmy would be meeting tons of them. How beautiful it would be if he wiped them all out and stepped out as the winner. That would certainly let the world know of his existence. Jimmy doubted he could pull anything at the Tournament. The security there meant he wouldn't be able to steal or cheat...not that Jimmy needed to cheat to beat the losers in this world.

"Enough of this." Jimmy thought as he decided not to think about the Tournament and wait until it started to how/who he would battle. "For now I suppose one more battle to level up Beldum is all I can do." Jimmy continued. Although last time Jimmy went battle after battle, Beldum almost fainted from exhaustion. For now, best to take whatever comes at him. It would all be good experience before the upcoming battles.

Deciding to battle once more was brave, even though your pokemon may recover some on the way there, you never know what kind of pokemon you may run into. What if a trainer was here with a fire pokemon? Well, that would be bad luck for Beldum. You started walking towards Joukai, but you felt a weird bump come from your egg container. It was the Genbu egg. Your eyes went wide, spotting a crack, and then two.

A natural cry came from the egg as it completely broke. Of course, being a newborn, this Genbu was miniature. Given time, it will grow to be normal size, and furious. You had too many pokemon on your team already, so you decided to toss it into your Poketch, where it went to your PC. Switch it anytime, if you feel up to training it before the Tournament.

Joukai Pass. You had finally stepped on the turf known as Joukai. However, there was no big crowd for a welcoming committee. No, instead there was a conflict taking part feet away from you. A Sneel, who seemed to be a Alternia native, and a Nidoran (male) were arguing over something, what looked to be a small pile of berries. Hey, aren't those two pokemon ones you want? What are you going to do? Move on or try to help them settle the fight? Beldum is the one you kind of want to focus on, and he recovered a little. But imagine the experience you'd get if it was just him. Let me spoiler you, it would be... Nope, not going to tell you the real number. If you want, you can do the math. However, it may be dangerous with just Beldum. All up to you.

More wild pokemon. More battle, more hate. The second Jimmy stepped into the Joukai Pass he was met with two pokemon, arguing over something. The two pokemon seemed pretty powerful however and both would make suitable additions to Jimmy's team, especially since they were poison types. However time was an issue, and there didn't seem to be enough of it for Jimmy to beat these two pokemon. They were high levelled and would probably put up a decent challenge. What a pain in the ass.

Still, as stated they would come in handy on Jimmy's team so he may as well go for it. He didn't have anything to do until the Tournament began and it would be a good way to kill time. Jimmy could dispatch of one of them quite quickly if he teamed up on it and used the Ultra Ball he obtained earlier. But the other would take a lot of effort.

"Screw it, let's just beat 'em down quick." Jimmy said to himself as he withdrew Beldum and Grimer's pokeball's once again. They would be tired from the last battle, but they would just have to deal with it. If Jimmy could get Beldum to evolve now it would come in very handy in the Tournament. "Right Beldum, we're gonna battle one more time. See that Nidoran, I want you and Grimer to go out. Three Take Downs and Three Pound attacks. Got it!!" Jimmy shouted. Assuming all six attacks hit, Nidoran should be knocked out, but if it did survive, it would be weakened enough to beat next round.

All that was left was for his pokemon to begin to attack. Time to let yet another battle unfold. After the Tournament, Jimmy decided he may as well travel to a new area and check out the trainer's there. Although a source of adrenaline that didn't come from battling would make a change. Maybe he would look for John Ranson, who screwed him over on that bogus trip to Nogou to retrieve a pointless cardboard box. Jimmy doubted he would ever find him again, but if he did, he would pay!!

"Execute!"

Another battle so soon? That's kind of a risky idea, don't you think? Especially telling your Beldum to use Take Down, a move that causes so much recoil damage. Sure, it's strong, but even so, your Beldum's already pretty low on health. Then again, other than Global Attacks, that's all he really is. But I'm rambling! Let's actually get onto this post, shall we?

Beldum seemed to sigh a little as you ordered them to attack, but he didn't shirk his orders. His red orb of an eyeball turned to focus on the Poison-type nearby, as did Grimer, who snarled a small "Grim!". These two were ready to take on the Nidoran, it seemed.
Beldum went first, throwing his whole body forward and slamming dead-on into Nidoran's face. Nidoran let out a small shriek of pain, stumbling back somewhat. He shot a Poison Sting at Beldum, but it simply bounced right off. Steel-type was completely immune to Poison, after all. Beldum let out a victorious "Bel!" in triumph, before once again slamming forward. He was taking recoil damage too, of course, but he was withstanding it like a champ.
Grimer took the opportunity to throw his own attacks in, meandering forward and swiping once at the Nidoran, who staggered back a little bit. He was trying to get his own attacks in, but the constant pummeling was throwing him off balance and not giving him much of an opening. Grimer used another Pound, before Beldum took over with a third Take Down. Nidoran collapsed, finally, but Grimer through in another Pound, just to be sure.

But even that didn't seem to be enough to take out the little critter. Slowly, he staggered up to his feet, blinking his eyes tiredly. Focusing all of a sudden, his eyes narrowed at Beldum, shooting a Leer at him; it was more than a little intimidating, and Beldum floated backward a bit, his defense decreasing.

Sneel, who seemed a bit upset that he had been forgotten for this long, suddenly scowled at Grimer, decreasing his Defense by one as well. Then he threw himself forward and wrapped his whole body around the sludge, clinging tightly to his body and causing a small amount of damage.

What will your next choice be? You better be careful; don't want to lose the battle...Beldum's running awfully low on energy. Better watch and make sure he doesn't keel over...

Nidoran sure had taken a beating. Perfect. Jimmy smiled as he watched the little pokemon being knocked around savagely, wasting his time shooting a Poison Sting that simply bounced off Jimmy's pokemon. Such simple minded creatures. They really did need guidance in order to survive in this world. Anyway, Beldum's job was done for now, so Jimmy pulled out his pokeball and returned it, deciding to let the little machine thing have a rest before the tournament. That just left Grimer.

Pulling out a second pokeball Jimmy summoned Aron. Although not as powerful, it could survive a number of attacks if Jimmy used him right. Finally Jimmy pulled out a Poke Ball. He needed to make a quick capture and Nidoran should fall this round. Or be close enough to fainting so Jimmy could capture it this round. Now it was just to make the orders.

"Aron, protect yourself. Use one Harden and finish up with two Mud Slaps on Nidoran." Jimmy shouted. Being super effective, the attack should deal enough for a knockout...especially with Grimer attacking as well. "Grimer use Harden and a Pound attack." Jimmy finished up. He figured he should get back the point of defence he lost earlier. If Nidoran fainted his capture should be perfect, but if Nidoran wasn't knocked out, it could still put up a fight. It shouldn't burst out, but there was a slight chance.

Aron should last at least two rounds so Jimmy wasn't worried for him, even though both opponents were so much stronger. He knew Aron was strong enough to stand against two mighty foes. It would be his chance to prove he deserved a place on Jimmy's team. With the orders set all that was left to do was wait for his pokemon to attack. Gripping the pokeball tightly he prepared to throw it, regardless if Nidoran was standing or not.

Having Beldum run so low was dangerous. Wow, it may be the first pokemon I've ever seen go below ten. Hell, just deem it as the lowest in general I've ever seen. That happening made you bring out Aron, your weaker steel type, who you had much confidence in. But it really might make a difference, or it could not.

Aron quickly used a Harden. The pokemon made itself harder, building it's defense. Just think, if you get both below the twenty-five percent mark, and you receive experience, how beast is that little Aron going to be? Well, wonder it all you want, but I have to move on. Your Aron moved in, going only a little closer as Nidoran moved in as well. Using two mud-slaps, the Nidoran took good damage, but not as much as you may have hoped. The level difference was great, and the only thing truly saving you was the effectiveness of the attack. It lowered the Nidoran's accuracy, as well. Things seemed to rely on your Grimer's attacks.

Even the sludge used Harden. Increasing it's defense was good, but being held by Sneel and constantly losing bits of health may not be. The Sludge pokemon had some trouble getting to Nidoran, and being Wrapped was making it hard for a good hit, having to move over the snake pokemon's body. Unfortunately, the Grimer's pound seemed weak. Sneel kept his hold. Nidoran had his horn glow, ramming into the Grimer with a solid Peck attack.

Aron seemed to get away with being unharmed, but how long can that stay possible?

So Nidoran survived and did damage?

"Damn thing dies this round." Jimmy thought to himself. Grimer being tangled in a Wrap attack certainly wasn't helpful either. Grimer needed to escape as soon as possible. But there was nothing he could do for now. With health and energy draining quickly, Jimmy had to make sure he didn't pull anything too risky, or he would lose. He would never allow himself to lose to a bunch of wild, untrained pokemon. He needed a good plan of action, and quick. But there wasn't much he could do for now. Continue to use Mud Slap and Pound was pretty much the extent of his pokemon's power. Oh well...that would do for now.

"Aron, use Harden, then use Mud Slap!!" Jimmy shouted, turning to Grimer. "Grimer use two Pound attacks!!" Jimmy finished as he looked at the pokeball in his hand. He had restrained himself last round by noticing that Nidoran was still standing. But this round he would throw, regardless of whether Nidoran survived or not. This battle wasn't important enough for Jimmy to make sure everything would work out as planned. This battle, mistakes could be made, as long as he won quickly. Jimmy wanted to head on out, and see what was beyond the Joukai Pass. Again, squeezing the pokeball he prepared to throw. He would not fail.

"You're mine!!"

It wasn't really necessary to use all of the attacks your Pokemon were told to do. Grimer alone should be enough to end that Nidoran. Then again, I suppose it is better to be safe than sorry. No need to have this drag out any longer than necessary, right?
Grimer wriggled somewhat in Sneel's grasp, though his slime-like body permitted him to move easily enough to get near Nidoran, whacking him hard upon the skull. Nidoran was too out of it from the constant pummeling to defend or even return with a counter-attack. Thus, Grimer was free to give him another sharp thwack on the head. Nidoran toppled over with a small squeak, lying unconscious on the ground. Now's your chance if you want to capture him!

With that one out of the way, all focus was now on Sneel. Aron narrowed his eyes, concentrating on his outer shell and making it much thicker and hardier, raising his defense by one yet again. After he had finished he darted forward, getting near enough to the Steel-type before he scooped up some dirt with his front leg, throwing it right in Sneel's face. Sneel screeched with pain. Although the attack itself had done very little damage, the mud had gotten into his eyes and had caused his Accuracy to diminish. That could really turn the tides in your Pokemon's favor!

Now that he had been forced to release Grimer, Sneel turned onto Aron, a low hiss coming from his mouth as he bared his fangs. Aron crumpled back somewhat, the Defense that he had raised earlier crumpling yet again before the Sneel's Leer. His eyes set angrily on Aron, blinking them several times to try and clear them of the grime that had diminished his ability to see before he threw himself forward in something that looked like Headbutt, though it had a drunken stagger in it from his inability to see.
However, it hit. The harsh clang of Steel-on-Steel rang out on the battlefield, and although Sneel had quite a level difference, Aron's increased Defense and his extreme resistance to moves of a Normal-type made the move nearly useless. The two Steel Pokemon shoved against one another for a few moments before Aron finally shoved him off, letting out an irritated "RON!" in the process.

Things are going well. Keep it up and this should be over soon.

Nidoran was down and out. With one down and one to go this battle would be over soon. Enlarging the pokeball, Jimmy threw the pokeball towards Nidoran in order to make a capture attempt. Whilst he was waiting for the capture attempt Jimmy turned his attention towards Sneel. The snake pokemon may prove to be slightly more challenging since Jimmy's pokemon were even more weakened. Grimer was starting to run low on energy. He may not be able to last much longer. This wasn't going as Jimmy had planned. But that just made things more exciting. Such a thrill to watch as pokemon battle until they could battle no more. It brought a smile to Jimmy's face. His blood was pumping. He was going to win, no matter what happened.

"Aron, use two Hardens. Grimer use two Pounds on Sneel." Jimmy shouted. Simple orders to execute. Jimmy didn't expect them to fail. Time was beginning to wear thin. He had to finish this up soon. His pokemon had taken their orders and were simply waiting for the right time to attack. It was these inbetween moments of battle that seemed the most tense. That wait that seemed to drag on as you wondered whether you would survive the next round. Turning his attention quickly to the pokeball he had thrown, Jimmy wondered if the capture attempt would be a success.

You really did want to catch that Nidoran, don't you? As you threw the pokeball towards the purple pokemon, Sneel looked at it. His face turned into a sour expression. That was who he had been fighting with! You didn't even know if it was a friend or not. The mechanical ball bounced off of Nidoran's skin, opening to cover Nidoran in a red light. When it disappeared inside, the ball closed. Knocking into the ground for a landing, the ball rolled slightly to the side. Shake. Shake. Shake! You did it! You just caught yourself a Nidoran. May I say a comment? He is a good pokemon to have on the team.

Sneel was now your only focus. He was the only thing standing in your way. Aron focused on his body, raising his defense even more. He grimaced at the fact that he was not attacking, wanting to end this battle. They had grown on you, even though Aron doesn't seem to have much of a time battling as your Beldum or Grimer do. Still, he did what was told. Grimer, who went in, the only one to go forward, easily attacked the Sneel. The head of a Sneel was hard, and Grimer could clearly see it would be a problem. Slapping him on his cheeks, the Grimer smirked. Returning to you, Grimer had his back turned. Sneel went in for an attack, maybe a Strike. Yes, a Strike. But missed terribly; it was off, his accuracy loss affecting him.

Nidoran was finally captured. Now it was time to defeat Sneel. Jimmy decided this battle was won anyway. Beldum was resting inside it's pokeball, so even if something went wrong Jimmy could rely on it to finish this battle off. That being said Jimmy decided now was a good time to start some more move tutoring. He was planning to do it earlier but decided he may as well make a start before the Tournament began. Although he doubted he would complete it in time, Jimmy had some ideas on how to start. He would still be able to battle as well. Grimer was pretty tired however, e may not be able to gather the energy to complete the training...

"That's fine." Jimmy thought to himself. "He'll just have to work a little harder." Jimmy finished as he decided the best way to attack and teach at the same time. A smile approaching his face, Jimmy realised he had a slight advantage. Grimer already knew Sludge, so when trying to teach Sludge Bomb, Grimer already had a head start. His plan was pretty straight forward. Take it step by step. Grimer had had plenty of practise with Sludge, he just needed to get it to explode. Turning to Grimer, Jimmy shouted:

"Grimer, you're going to learn Sludge Bomb. The attack goes like this: Fire a few large round 'bubbles' of sludge at the target. The bubble itself becomes hard in mid-flight, then explodes on contact like a tiny bomb. Got it? So I want you to use Harden, then Sludge, throw it as fast as you can towards Sneel." Jimmy shouted. The plan was this: if the Sludge has to harden in mid flight, Jimmy wanted Grimer to use Harden first to see what the attack should look like. The last part was slightly more difficult. Jimmy would need to get Grimer to throw the Sludge at quite a force to get it to break upon impact. Although this wouldn't cause an explosion, it would be a start. That would do for now.

"Aron, you're going to learn Take Down. Think of it as an evolved Tackle. So I want you to use Harden as well, then run as fast as you can and deliver a Tackle, ya hear?" Jimmy shouted. Again using Harden was the plan. Take Down was a higher version of Tackle, so getting Aron to Harden would make it used to dealing higher damage. Or so Jimmy thought.

"Execute!!"
