So this guy was a lot stronger than Jimmy thought. Looks like this battle was going to be FAR more interesting than the last. It also looked like John wanted to make a wager as well. Very interesting. $200, not too big a wager...did Jimmy want to make it even higher? He could make a killing out of this. Better not be too stupid with it though. Naturally no pokemon would be gambled. Maybe items. No. Jimmy should try and get some money to buy potions, pokeballs and status healers.

"$200 huh? How about we make it $400. Interested?" Jimmy said with a cunning smile. With the stakes raised, the combatants would duke it out with almost twice as much energy as before. This would be the time to really formulate strategies. His opponent was actually quite powerful...but he still had a type advantage. Grass attacks did 0.5 damage against Grimer and Beldum and he could deal super damage with Grimer and regular with Beldum. That put Jimmy at a serious advantage for now. But with Sleep Powder, Bellsprout would be quite the pain, maybe Jimmy should reconsider his attack strategy. Three attacks at the start of the battle was normally the way Jimmy took the advantage early, but it seemed to have failed this time round. Quickly thinking, he decided an attack strategy and ordered his assault.

"Right, Beldum, Focus your Attack and launch a Take Down against that Bellsprout, hear me?" Jimmy shouted towards Beldum. Next he turned to Grimer and ordered, "As for you, two Sludge attacks against Nuzleaf!!"

That was it, nothing left to do but watch the events unfold, and wait for his opponents response.

As you raised the wager, John smiled. He still showed a sort of confidence, but maybe he was on the edge of cocky. Well, he nodded, and agreed. 400 is would be. Wow, some amount of money. He closed his wallet and thought of a battle plan.

"Nuzleaf, dodge as best you can. Block Beldum from getting to Bellsprout. Bell, use Growth, and keep the wrap up." John gave out the commands, now let's see how the pokemon could follow through.

Nuzleaf was hit by both Sludges, while trying to figure out how he'd dodge and block. The dodging factor failed, epically. He was on the verge of being poisoned. An attack like that will definitely inflict something on him. Try your luck in the next round, maybe. As for his continued plan, he jumped over, using his own kind of Strike against the Beldum. It barely did anything, but it took damage from the Take Down. Before landing, Nuz twisted around and blasted the hunk of steel with Nature Power. Again, barely did anything. Bell kept his wrap up, but tried to power it up by using Growth again.

It definitely was going, well, only okay. If only there was a way to take more out of the Nuzleaf, and make him unable to protect Bell. Well, you almost did that. His leg hurts from hitting the Beldum's steel body. What is next?

(OOC - Two Super Effective Sludge's and a powered up Take Down only did 9 damage? Damn lol)

So with the wager upped, this battle was definitely going to be fun. This was the toughest challenge Jimmy had ever faced, but he welcomed this challenge. His opponent's pokemon were definitely powerful, especially seeing as how Jimmy's recent assaults barely seemed to scratch Nuzleaf's surface. How could he deal some big damage this round? He could hope to inflict poison on Nuzleaf but even that itself would take awhile to sap down it's life. There was nothing he could do but bolster his defence and launch an assault.

"Grimer, use Harden then fire a Sludge!" Jimmy shouted. It was a long shot, but Jimmy wondered if the Sludge would be stronger if it was hardened. "Beldum, Focus your Defence and hit hard with a Strike!!" He finished as he stood back and waited to see what his opponent would do. This battle could take awhile but as long as Jimmy won it didn't matter. Never knowing if victory was certain always made battles that much more exciting. Jimmy was starting to get an adrenaline rush already. It was time to turn the tables on this match.

"ATTACK!!"

So you though about it and it seemed to make sense. Grimer used harden, boosting his defense. He threw a Sludge as he was trying to perform Harden, to try something new. It seemed to take a little away, but by the time it flew to Nuz, it put something in. It hit the grass pokemon, knocking it on it's behind. A faint purple blush showed up under Nuz's eyes. It was poisoned. A faint shock took a point away. But it was just the initial poison setting in. It may worsen, or you could always try and make it worse. Your choice.

Beldum did what you asked, using Focus on defense, and moved in for an attack. As hurt as the pokemon was, he couldn't move to block his friend. Nuzleaf stayed sitting, not attacking this time, right now. Bell was hit by your strike, taking the hit made it loosen the wrap. Even if loosened, it still kept hold of the steel pokemon. Something you weren't expecting: Bellsprout used Sleep Powder. Beldum wasn't really effected, so don't worry. However, the pokemon did get slightly drowsy.

Nuzleaf was up. He had to keep fighting through the poison, and the injured leg. He sucked in some air, used some energy, and stood up. He used Focus to up his Special Attack, and then used Nature Power; Seed Bomb, again, came forth from the Nuzleaf. Little bursts tipped Beldum's hard body, doing little to no damage. It sucks for them. With Nuz poisoned, and kind of down, you may be able to really get the upper hand here. However, Beldum is a bit drowsy.

Dammit. How could Jimmy be so stupid? How could he completely skip over the most obvious fact that had been staring him in the face since this battle began? Beldum had lost a lot of energy in the last battle and had been thrown straight into another battle. This was an unforgivable fact to overlook that could cost Jimmy the battle. Beldum needed time to rest. Jimmy wasn't going to return him however. For now he was just going to rely on Grimer to attack. Grimer took on a Mightyena when he was still low levelled and one. He could defeat a Nuzleaf close to his level.

Jimmy needed to start taking this a little more seriously. Calming himself down, he smiled to himself. He was still going to win this battle. It was a matter of strategy. Looking at the battlefield what did he have to his advantage? Well Nuzleaf was poisoned so it's health would slowly sap away to nothing, and if Grimer kept up it's super effective Sludge and continued to Harden it would get to a point of taking no damage. This battle would be slowly but surely
.

"Hmph, your not so bad." Jimmy grunted at his opponent. "But don't think for a second, that this battle is over y'hear!" Jimmy shouted with a smile filled with confidence. "Check it. Grimer Harden again, then use another Sludge of Nuzleaf. Beldum, drop back for now and recover, stay on your guard though. They'll still try and attack you." Jimmy ordered. With only one real attack launched, it was vital that it hit. This Nuzleaf was quick, but Jimmy was counting on it to try and attack the tired Beldum. That was when Grimer would strike. Take it off guard. Beldum, who was released from Wrap now just had to stay back. It wouldn't take much damage, but it was better to take a hit and save energy then losing it trying to avoid a few points a damage.

Derping... All Day, Every Day!

Right off the bat, John yelled out some things. Eh, just a little bit of commands. You heard what they were. Nuz was to use Nature Power, and Focus before it. Bell was suppose to use Sleep Powder, twice, trying to put Beldum to sleep. Oh man, this might not be too good for your Beldum right now, but your Grimer is kicking butt. He used harden, and then launched a ball of sludge. It hit Nuzleaf hard, knocking him down and canceling out his Nature Power. Wait, you missed your chance to cancel his focus. Pfft, that did matter. Inside, you rejoiced. Who cared about messing up his buff, when you messed up the attack that was suppose to go with it. Oh, by the way, Nuzleaf's purple blush just got darker. Did you inflict more poison? Sure you did, so keep this up, attack him with more!

Bell was another story, and Beldum's single eye seem to drop a little. Was your steel pokemon THAT drowsy? Or was it a front, an act to keep Bell guessing. Who knows. As the powder slowly started to escape the plant pokemon, Beldum felt a surge of freedom. The wrap was up. Focusing on different moves distracted the Bellsprout, and the constricting move that held Beldum was gone. Able to move, Beldum fought his sleepiness and moved backwards. The powder eventually disappeared within the air and some piled in clumps on the ground.

Wow. Nuzleaf's poison ailment got worse, but not by much. Inflicting more sludge upon him will definitely drain his health. Not just that, but he can't move so quickly. You are doing good. Too bad you didn't know the Wrap would loosen that much, and fall. Beldum did get some distance and was ready to take action, regaining a very small amount of energy.

Such energy from such a simpleton. This trainer really was beginning to push Jimmy's nerves. However, remaining calm Jimmy watched as the events of the battle unfolded. Beldum managed to avoid being put to sleep but still barely had the energy to continue. It really couldn't keep fighting but Jimmy wasn't about to let it give up. Beldum needed to learn to fight to the bitter end. However he wasn't going to let Beldum get too involved right now, he still needed to win and Beldum needed to try and conserve energy. His opponents were still pretty strong right now. Grimer would have to keep up the main brunt of attacks.

"Right Grimer two Sludge attacks against Nuzleaf. Beldum, use a single Strike attack against Nuzleaf!" Jimmy ordered. Nuzleaf was exceptionally powerful, as an evolved pokemon should be. It was proving incredibly difficult to take down. The trainer himself was fighting because Jimmy had humiliated his sister in battle. Determination like that sure made a trainer more skilful. But he would still fall, just like the rest of them. Jimmy would just keep on attacking until Nuzleaf and Bellsprout were no longer standing. Jimmy would prevail in the end. That was a certainty. This trainer's mind was clearly focused only on getting revenge for his sister, he wasn't fighting how he should be. Fair enough he was battling well, but not as well as he should be. What a pity. Jimmy would take the advantage the second this trainer slipped up. It was inevitable. It was time for the next round to begin.

"Just wait."

You're getting angry, right? In a way, I like that. Get angry. Will your battle state of mind be corrupted with that little anger, or can you remain calm all the way through? It looks like you're staying calm right now, so I think you may remain that way. But the Nuzleaf was your main concern, and you were just going to have one hell of an assault on him. Although, it would've been more of an assault if Beldum could attack more, like another Take Down or something. But a simple attack was always good, and hey, it didn't recoil damage either.

Grimer launched the sludge. Nuzleaf was regaining a little energy to dodge, but was caught off guard by the strike Beldum delivered. He wasn't use to the steel pokemon attacking for a couple of turns, and really ignored the thought, and it seems he didn't catch what you commanded Beldum to do. Why to go! But the sludge, oh yes, the sludges. Both bombs the Nuzleaf, hitting him directly. With such a connect on the first, the second gave him a critical hit. Wow, nice going. Nuzleaf is going down for sure soon. zoh, the poison slowly sapped away health, but it took slightly more then last time because those twin sludge really made things worse. But that Bellsprout. Oh, that plant pokemon seems harmless with your force of pokemon.

"Bell, use Growth, and then Wrap again." John hammered out a command, and as the loyal plant went to follow through, the Growth worked perfectly, but then he used wrap. Catching the Beldum from behind, and sucking a few health points out. Nothing major, so you don't have to worry. Nuzleaf was just about over! If only Grimer can throw two more sludge attacks, and maybe Beldum was manage to yank Bell in that direction to use a good strike or take down, it could be all over for Nuzleaf.

This was it. To watch as Nuzleaf began to stagger sent a spine-tingling thrill down Jimmy's back. His opponent had certainly put up a good fight and this battle was still raring. But Nuzleaf would fall. The poison racing through it's veins was slowly beginning to worsen as the pokemon's health began to drain slowly. This next assault would finish it. Beldum would have to use every bit of energy it had to ensure that this round went as smoothly as Jimmy planned.

It was all about careful timing right now. A simple mistake would keep Nuzleaf alive long enough for it to launch an unnecessary attack that would only delay the battle. This was the thrill Jimmy yearned for. Although his anger was flaring from the determination of the trainer and the Nuzleaf, the tensed silence of the battle as both trainers prepared their orders, as their pokemon stared each other out, was amazing. It was time to finish this.

"Alright." Jimmy said under his breath. "Lets win this." He finished as he looked up slowly and prepared to make his orders. "Grimer...don't be distracted. Fire two Sludge attacks simultaneously...don't give it time to dodge. Beldum...use Take Down, one more time. Trust me." Jimmy ordered, still talking quietly. He wasn't trying to hide his orders from his opponent. He was just completely in the zone right now. He could only hear and see what was going on in the battle. It was time to see how this round would fare. Would Nuzleaf still be standing? Only time would tell. Taking a deep breath, in and out, Jimmy's eyes flared as he threw his arm forward, snapping back to reality and shouted:

"ATTACK!!"

You had faith in the battle ending with just the last few strikes to give out. Well, it may or may not be true. We'll have to see. Even if Nuzleaf goes down, you still have Bells, the Bellsprout to worry about. Not to mention if John has any other pokemon. However, he didn't seem like he did. These were all he had, and a feared look on the man's face provided the fact that these two were all he had. But the Bellsprout looked as if it could go down just as quickly as the Nuzleaf did.

"Nuxleaf, dodge!" John called, watching as your Grimer built up the sludge. The icky pokemon tossed them, and Nuzleaf, who is tired, tried to dodge. He couldn't manage. The Nuzleaf was hit by one, knocking him to the side. Beldum was too close for comfort, and it was Nuzleaf's fall. The Take Down was it; Beldum had finished Nuzleaf off. But now it was all up to Bellsprout, a pokemon who would have nothing against your pokemon. Just finish it off.

"Bells..." John mumbled, racing himself to think of moves to command the plant to perform. These actions were his worse; when things got tough, John started to break. In desperation, John commanded some commands that wouldn't really help it. But only stall. "Bells... use Focus on your attack, next use Wrap on the Beldum." The pokemon did as told and easily captured the hunk of steel in his vines.

It was too bad for him that the Grimer only had one target now. Beldum could still attack, although Bellsprout had some control over it right now. It still was going down, knowing your team who seemed good working together.

A strange laughter echoed through Jimmy's head as Nuzleaf teetered and fell to it's inevitable demise. This battle was over. Bellsprout didn't stand a chance. Suddenly, a bunch of vines shot out and trapped Beldum in a Wrap. Clearly this was now an a desperate attempt at victory, but it was only delaying Jimmy's victory. With Beldum wrapped though, Jimmy had quickly formulated a plan that would hopefully deal more damage. He noticed his opponent's face as the look of defeat spread across it.

"You seem less confident all of a sudden." Jimmy smiled maliciously "Pity. I was really starting to enjoy myself." Jimmy finished as he made sure his plan of action would work. It was fairly simple but would pay off if it worked. The idea was this:

Step 1: Have Beldum begin to spin in the air. With Bellsprout's vines wrapped around it, the steel pokemon should forcefully drag the plant pokemon towards it. Now the Bellsprout would either release Beldum, or try and squeeze harder to try and deal some extra damage. Jimmy hoped for the second option.

Step 2: With Bellsprout being dragged towards Beldum, Jimmy would order a single Take Down attack. With Bellsprout trapped the attack shouldn't miss. Beldum could also use the vines that trapped him to propel itself forward.

Step 3: Order Grimer to use two Sludge attacks. As before, Bellsprout should be trapped. Only one way to find out if it would work.

"Beldum. Start spinning. Drag that Bellsprout close to you and hit hard with a Take Down. Grimer, use two Sludge attacks after that!!" Jimmy ordered. This was it. Victory was so close...

"Just be patient."

You gave commands as well as a General leading his units. You knew what to do, and how you wanted it done. And some of that rubbed off onto your pokemon. Beldum instantly started spinning. The distance in the vines became shorter, as the amount increased around the steel pokemon. Too bad; Bellsprout had no strength compared to the Beldum, and it was pulled in and had barely any resistance. It took no time at all for the Beldum to use Take Down, knocking the Bellsprout in the head, proving it was a formidable force; especially with the critical hit. However, you noticed Beldum was a little bit tired. Not in actual energy, but in health. The wrap was still in effect before you twirled it in, but now you had Beldum free.

The two sludge? Oh yeah, they hit the Bellsprout as it awkwardly moved backwards. However, unlike the Nuzleaf, Bellsprout had a poison-type energy within him, so the sludge didn't make any effect other then some regular damage. Dazed from the Take Down, the next round opened up for you immediately.

Without Nuzleaf in the battle, things were starting to get pretty boring. Now it was 2 v 1. Very soon it would be 2 v 0. Assuming things went well of course. The last assault seemed to have worked pretty well, and Beldum was freed from Wrap, which was an added bonus. Now it was just a matter of time ad steady attacks and Beldum would fall. Now then, what was there to do that could ensure victory quickly? It sounded boring but the only thing to do was launch the same attacks that Jimmy had always launched. But since victory was so close, Jimmy decided to experiment a bit. That would have to do until Beldum could finally learn some attacks.

"Beldum, Stare Down on Bellsprout to lower it's defence, then hit hard with a Take Down." Jimmy ordered, turning to Grimer, he decided on a different approach. "Grimer, use Harden to strengthen your body, then Pound on Bellsprout." Jimmy yelled. Perhaps with a toughened body the attack would deal more. It didn't matter, this battle was his anyway. All he had to do was stand back and enjoy as his opponent squirmed in a desperate attempt to win. Folding his arms he stared towards Grimer, who was getting ready to attack. Would this round be it? Perhaps not, but soon.

"It's only a matter of time."

Getting boring? I know you are, and I can see why. But the reward at the end will only further your desire to get stronger and fight gym leaders. Beldum swiftly took advantage of the situation, and as Bellsprout struggled to keep balance, used a Stare Down attack, one in which all pokemon know and comes in handy when Beldum doesn't have a lot of moves. The Bellsprout fell victim easily; the assault was coming. The steel type moved in, using a Take Down. It didn't do a critical, but hit hard on the plant's head, doing a little bonus of damage.

Now for Grimer. He used Harden, making his oozing body more like a wall, and the theory of making Pound hurt was going through just that, the theory. It moved in, and for the first time. Using Pound was simple! It slapped the plant around, dealing "alright" damage. The Bellsprout tried to use a Strike on the Grimer, but with the defense boost, the damage was only a tickle.

With the battle nearly over, Jimmy only needed a few more hits to win. Surely it shouldn't take longer than two more rounds. Bellsprout certainly seemed determined to stay alive. But it was a meaningless effort. It would fall so very soon. It was only delaying it's fate. Jimmy remembered that they had a $400 wager on this battle. Looks like he would be a little richer and a lot stronger after this battle. Not a bad turn of events. Maybe he would run into some more family members. Then again, Beldum definitely needed a trip to the pokemon centre before anymore battling could be done. Since this battle started Jimmy was slowly growing sick of all the trees and greenery around him. Maybe he would head to Joukai Pass to find more trainers to battle. And some wild pokemon to catch to boot. Whatever happened after this battle, Jimmy would have time to think about later. He had a battle to win.

"Beldum, Take Down then Strike hard." Jimmy shouted. Turning to Grimer he decided two Sludge attacks should do for now. "Grimer, hit with two Sludges." He shouted. The commands may have seemed repetitive but for now they would do. He could work on more battle strategies later. All he needed now was for his attacks to hit. Could his pokemon do it? They better do!!
