Well, luckily, the bridge your Aron had been chewing on was scheduled to be demolished and rebuilt anyway, so nobody seemed to be upset about the gaps in the foundation. So therefore, you were free to start your epic Pokemon Journey without any problems of a criminal record hovering over your shoulder.

Millenia was full of tourists today. But that was for a good reason. It was a perfect day for spending at the beach, either sunbathing in the glorious sunlight streaming from the clear blue sky, or hunting for wild Pokemon on the rockier areas. But since there were an awful lot of bikini-clad girls sunbathing, playing volleyball, splashing in the surf... maybe you plan to drop by there, at least for a few minutes.

In fact, the town is full of people in summery clothing, all enjoying the heat, helping themselves liberally from ice-cream vendors, shopping, looking at gardens... just enjoying the day. One of the aforementioned vendors had a Snorunt casting Powder Snow on his stock to keep it frozen, and to entertain his customers.

There was a group of kids running up and down the street, some Pokemon racing with them. They looked like they might be holding some sort of racing contest... or just burning off some steam until they found someone who might want to battle. They'd probably be quite eager for a friendly battle, if you were so inclined.

There were plenty of plesant sorts of parks and open areas in Millenia, and the wild Pokemon appreciated it. If you didn't want to try the beach, maybe you could try your luck at finding a wild Pokemon right in the city.

Life is not a fairytale and there are no happy endings.
Which Aron was still, narrowly ontop of this battle. You were correct at pointing your anger here, there and everywhere. Ponyta had nothing on Aron when using a tackle attack, or atleast... Shouldn't have anyway... Your rage burned and as it did, your pokemon began to connect with the same mentality you did. It was time to really go to town on this stupid fire horse one and for all.

Aron began running at Ponyta with blinding rage, so angry infact that she growled as she did. Ponyta realised how angry the little pokemon was and braced for impact. With a strong tackle attack the horse slid back some way, yet not tipping over. However, with a quick and skillful bounce off, Aron took the the sky, and began to hurdle down towards Ponyta from above... Letting its momentum and weight combine, to take it to a new level of speed.

Whack - that was surely the end of this battle. I dont need to go into detail on how much that must of hurt Ponyta, but the horse pokemon slowly dropped to its side, unconcious. Aron breathed heavily looking at its work. It was a triumphant win from a battle that had caused alot of problems for both of you. You won this time, but what if you come across another pokemon like Ponyta who is alot taller, quicker. What if they know a move like ember? You could really be in some serious trouble if so...

The kid withdrew his pokemon. Looked at you without saying a word and quickly ran off in humiliation. Job done.

Congratulations! Aron gained 10 :exp
Aron grew to level 8!
Aron learned mud slap!
Aron has 5 :exp left over.

"Atta girl, Aron." Valentine said, holding up her Pokeball and ushering her back in with the glowing red beam.

He was still incredibly frustrated that the battle had gone the way it did, especially since he risked seriously injuring one of his most precious Pokemon, but at least this round was a victory. He looked down at his Watch as he flipped up the tail of his jacket to holster the Pokeball, reaching out for--maybe Corsola this time? Or Meowth? Giving one of the new guys a try, too, might be fun. Val wasn't terribly sure what that blue and black Pokemon was--the Shinx, but don't tell him that--but it'd be interesting to battle. And the Pidgey! Boy, he was tired of flying types, but did they ever add a challenge to his battles lately. Maybe his new Grimer could take that one on.

"Heh, this thing has got a horrible connection," He said, shaking his Watch. "It thinks you've fled."

He looked up and let out a curse under his breath. The brat ran off after a very close round when they both had several Pokemon left--without paying up the prize money! There was no point to trainer battles between strangers if it wasn't for the prize money! You don't risk honor and injury for nothing!

So he called out and started to beat feet after the boy, shouting obscenities and waving his arms. Either this battle would continue, or he'd get his prize money---or, you know, encounter something shiny/loud/exciting/kinda out of the ordinary and be momentarily (immensely) distracted and forget all about the prize money. Even if a certain Player was BANKING on the money when he asked for a Trainer battle in the first place.

The battle was over, but you weren't happy. The kid left without giving you your hard earned cash. In a bit of an angry rage you started after the boy, who had a fairly decent head start and was halfway down the road. The people around you were giving you some questioning stares and some were even glaring. They all witnessed how you were acting and most were not pleased. Especially two young men that saw the target of your little show.

The two young men got up from where they were sitting and quickly moved to intercept you before you caught up with the boy. They both stood directly in your line of sight and blocked your path. One of the two watched as the boy turned a corner and then disappeared from his sight.

"We don't like bullies picking on little kids." The one on the right of you said. The other one stopped watching the corner and turned to meet your gaze with his partner. "We saw how you reacted as the kid went off and seeing as you won, I don't see why you were in such a fuss. Now we can settle this the easy way or the hard way." The hard way was obviously a battle and the easy way...well lets just say it will take a lot of pride swallowing making it harder.

The one that was talking wore a name tag that said Paulie. The other had the same that said Rickie. Both were wearing the same white tee-shirt with blue jean uniform. The name tags were on top of their blue jackets. Apparently they were on break from the Pokemart.

Paulie revealed a Pokeball from his jacket and released the Pokemon inside. A tiny child-like Pokemon with a vibrant red horn stood by him. "Jessica we may have a battle on our hands." Ricky snorted. "You haven't explained anything to this fella here yet."

"Right. Well if you choose the hard way it will be a two on two single battle against me and then my friend here. You win we'll pay you to leave the kids here alone. $200 a piece had better sound good. You lose Rickie and I will escort you out of town."

Well now will you fight? It would be a good chance to level your team some more. You'll even get a chance to see what the rest of your team can do.

"...heh."

Valentine adjusted his glasses. As the sunlight caught his lenses, it was hard to make out the exact state of his facial expression, but his lips were definitely giving off a smirk. It seemed everytime he acted out--even a little--the world had an unnessicarily difficult punishment for him. As if this world was made up of 'do good or do nothing', and everytime Valentine let loose just a bit, he got spanked. Hard. Overall, he was a good guy, but he was just looking for fun, and when that happened, it seemed like everything played itself up against him.

And how did he even get in this position? Battling a trainer easily his age, demanding prize money, and watching the kid--and his money--take off running when the battle turned sour in his favor? It was the equivalent of disconnecting in the middle of a network game to prevent the opponent to get a better score. It was rude and--most importantly--completely out of the spirit of a Trainer's battle. If locking eyes meant you had to battle, as the kid had demanding, then 'the loser had to pay up' was just as important. But here a couple of guys wanted to make a big deal out of it.

"Fine, fine..."

His hand reached down to his belt, dramatically causing the tail end of his jacket to catch air and flutter out spectacularly, and Lotad pressed against the side of it's Pokeball, launching it out to his grasping hand. Inside his palm, it spin around rapidly as he almost lazily tossed it out--causing it to create a rather impressive arc, explode with the red light of an opened capsule, and launch back to his hand in a smooth movement. Placing the Pokeball back on his belt, he nodded at Paulie before starting his commands.

"Lotad, let's see what you can do! Astonish it, then launch backwards and use Razor Leaf! This'll be difficult!"

OOC: So, to make up for the level difference, I thought I'd take advantage of a few things. 1) Ralts is Psychic, and has poor physical defense. Using Lotad's starting move 'Astonish' gives me a Ghost type attack (for double damage) using physical means (taking advantage of that poor defense) with a chance of Flinching. Following up with a Razor Leaf gives me a Grass type attack (for STAB) using physical means (again, taking advantage of that poor defense). So hopefully the battle-ready Lotad can take advantage of his own means to make up for the level difference and the overwealming power of Psychic pokemon.

No fancy background information this time, it's battling time! Put up your gloves, cause we're about to have ourselves a regular ol' fisticuffs fight!

It wasn't a bad idea to start the fight off with a surprising attack, normally these type of maneuvers prove to be quite useful. But your opponent wasn't born yesterday, and this Ralts, although not the strongest thing around, knew her way around the battlefield. When her trainer responded with a simple, "DeeTee!" Ralts understood the commands and split her images into two identical counterparts. Lotad was quick, but Ralts was quicker, and the astonish only managed to do away with one of the clones.

Lotad found itself astonished by the lack of a solid opponent, oh the irony! Utilizing this opportunity, Pauile yelled out, "Cee!" Apparently, by abbreviating his attacks he was able to save whatever time it took for him to complete the word and give Ralts that tiny advantage. While Lotad jumped back, in accordance with your commands, and Ralts shot out her confusion attack. Lotad gave a yelp, the psychic powers swarmed his mind and addeled his brains. Not good, Lotad became confused.

Then the following mess happened. Lotad heard you command it to shoot a razor-leaf attack, but in its current status, it really couldn't aim properly. Comibned with the fear of missing again, Lotad did what it felt best at the moment... and unleashed a torrent of sharp edged foliage, all over. Everyone got a piece of the action, Ralts, you, Paulie and Rickie.

The leaves cut skin and cotton alike, tearing your flesh and clothing. Luckily, it was over quickly, and gave you a reprieve to survey the damage. You were covered in fresh cuts (although nothing a few bandages wouldn't take care of), and the other trainers were in similar condition. Ralts got the worst of it, taking a critical strike in the whole mess. Paulie had half a mind to recall his Pokemon but instead he said, "you're just too dangerous to be left alone. Now I know I'll have to make you leave town."

At least Lotad isn't confused anymore.
