Well, luckily, the bridge your Aron had been chewing on was scheduled to be demolished and rebuilt anyway, so nobody seemed to be upset about the gaps in the foundation. So therefore, you were free to start your epic Pokemon Journey without any problems of a criminal record hovering over your shoulder. Millenia was full of tourists today. But that was for a good reason. It was a perfect day for spending at the beach, either sunbathing in the glorious sunlight streaming from the clear blue sky, or hunting for wild Pokemon on the rockier areas. But since there were an awful lot of bikini-clad girls sunbathing, playing volleyball, splashing in the surf... maybe you plan to drop by there, at least for a few minutes. In fact, the town is full of people in summery clothing, all enjoying the heat, helping themselves liberally from ice-cream vendors, shopping, looking at gardens... just enjoying the day. One of the aforementioned vendors had a Snorunt casting Powder Snow on his stock to keep it frozen, and to entertain his customers. There was a group of kids running up and down the street, some Pokemon racing with them. They looked like they might be holding some sort of racing contest... or just burning off some steam until they found someone who might want to battle. They'd probably be quite eager for a friendly battle, if you were so inclined. There were plenty of plesant sorts of parks and open areas in Millenia, and the wild Pokemon appreciated it. If you didn't want to try the beach, maybe you could try your luck at finding a wild Pokemon right in the city. |

"Wooper?" the little mud fish said, confused. It was titled it's head to the side, looking at your Meowth. Wooper was too playful, seeing the Meowth as not a threat but, another friend to play with. And so, the little mud fish walked close to the feline animal, trying to nudge it with a joyous kindness. The other two Wooper remained behind the first Wooper, for they somewhat feared the Meowth, or rather, took it "hands up" pose as a warning sign. Unfortunately, the first one didn't see, this walking up to Meowth like a fool. "Wooper!" the Pokemon screeched in pain, flying back to the ground, and falling into his friends. The first Wooper had been scratched by Meowth. The Scratch wasn't too powerful because it was merely a warning scratch to the Wooper, telling it to back off before things became too tense. Basically, what it was saying through it's body language was, "Don't battle unless you're serious", and the mud fish got that message clearly. Slowly, the mud fish, with the help of it's friends, got back on it's feet. On it's face, Valentine could recognize and distinguish all three of the Wooper almost perfectly, or at least, the Wooper that Meowth attacked. The first Wooper, had 3 small scratches across it's forehead. The scratches were bound to scar forever, and were a battle scar and reminder of why it shouldn't play around all of the time. "Woo-PAR!" the female Wooper said, shouting at Meowth. The scarred Wooper's friends were furious, and even though Valentine didn't want them to interfere with their battle, they were. "Wooper!" "Wooper!" "Wooper!" All of the Water Pokemon said, as they each simultaneously shout a stream of water from their mouths at Meowth. They were using the move, Water Gun. Though, it was rather unfair fighting a battle three on one. On top of that, Meowth was a cat Pokemon, and you know how cats detest water. Will Meowth be hit by the Water Gun attack, or will he simply evade the attack? In fact, will Valentine just stand there while his Meowth's rear end was handed to him on a silver platter; a wet silver platter? What will Meowth and Valentine do? In a trainer battle, this move would have been illegal. The idea that it was something so against the rules it could cost him his trainer's license almost made him hesitate--almost. But this was a wild battle, and thusly, all bets were off. Especially if the little water-types wanted to outright cheat and gang up on his cute little kitten Pokémon. And, for a boy never one for sports, he sure did move quickly--powersliding with his feet out in front of him, scooping up his Meowth in both arms and taking the brunt of the water jets himself. Pain shot through his body...despite the low level, Pokémon were made to battle, and the jets tore into his clothing and his skin, leaving bloody, bruised marks in lashing lines from the high-pressure water attack. He flinched and coughed, holding back any mention of pain, and lightly brushed the back of the Meowth's neck before pushing her away from him. "Fine, fine," He said, the look of anger in his eyes apparent, although his body was obviously not suited for this sort of thing, he stood. Shakily, at best. "Fine,." Two beams of light as the pokeballs released their contents, his rock types appearing out before him. "Aron, be careful, girl. Corsola, you know the drill---TACKLE!" He cut his glance down at the meowth, his fierce expression not softened for her. "Scratch attack...now." He pointed towards the three water types. Sure, the levels were now completely in his favor, and sure, this could be something as simple as a one-hit K.O., but Valentine was rightfully angry. Small amounts of experience, he figured, remained experience. |

Corsola and Aron came out, but before they could launch anything, a Lotad jumped down from a gutter, and fired a strangely strong Razor Leaf at all of the Wooper. It looked like that, but it was actually three seperate Razor Leafs fired one after another. Still, there was more strength then normal behind each, and having a x4 weakness to grass, each Wooper was felled, one after another. With all three of them down, the Lotad waddled over to you, with not a hint of the aggresion from before on it's strange face. That was...... Wow...... But, all weirdness aside, Corsola and Aron turned around to see something, a few things, actually, lurking in the the shadows behind them. Something was watching them, probably to strike when they were weak, or to prey on the downed Wooper. Either way, it was slowly crawling toward you, obscured by shadow. Run, or face it? Battle Won! His team was getting more impressive. His poketech proudly alerted him that his Meowth could manage a bite attack now, which was really fun. Made use of the Pokémon's natural teeth, had a possibility of flinching--and was an elemental from a normal-type, which drastically increased his range of attack options. And the little lotad, who seemed friendly enough, would add a bit to the game, too....still, he didn't have time to talk it into a Pokeball with the rustling behind him. With all his Pokémon out, he had quick access to all the options at hand, though. So, cockily, he turned to face the shadows. "Alright, guys, fall back. Let's see what we have here." With the command, his captured Pokémon huddled around him protectively, Meowth finding her place back on his shoulder with a yawn from her first battle, with with all that leveling, she was more than ready for more action. Battling was fun, right? So here's the plan: Valentine wants to check and see what's in store with him, and if it's too dangerous for his little Pokémon, he might decide to book for it--although, knowing the boy, he might try to talk the Pokémon down himself. Even with all of them outside of their Pokeballs, though, he's intentionally commanded them to hold back...basic trainer knowledge, no reason to spread your experience out that far if one or two could handle it. "So what is it?" He said to the shape in the shadows. "You wanna battle? Or are ya just hungry, little guy?" That goofy grin and geeky voice didn't hold the least bit of aggression: Easy to find yourself in a good mood when your Pokémon are doing so well. |

Picking the battle, huh? Well, exp would be nice after that fail battle before. But, doesn't look like that nice little Lotad will be much help right now. two Poison types, an Ekans and Grimer, slithered and oozed out of the shadows of the alley. The big snake was pretty confined in the narrow space, but the Grimer's liquid-like body served to make any space enough. Aron would probably be a good choice here.... As everyone loved the mountain of resistances Steel types have, yes? The Lotad went from being cheerful and freindly to being scared, and started to whimper. Obviously, it knew it's own disadvantages. Hey, maybe it'll get hurt in the battle and you'll be able to catch it easy? That's not nice to say..... But, hell, a wild is a wild. Slithering pretty close to you, the Ekans hissed loudly, initiating the battle. Let's get on with this! Battle! "Don't worry, little Lotad." Valentine stood in front of the shivering little creature with a smile. "Both of my friends here are resistant to poison AND normal-type attacks." He stuck out his tongue twirled a ball on his finger, and pointed it at Corsola--who disappeared with a red flash of light. Shifting his weight to put the ball on the pocket gave Meowth time to slink down his chest and tap the Pokeball herself, disappearing as well. Aron--the sweet little girl she was--looked up at him fiercely. "That's right, love." He crouched down and rested his hand on her heavy back, lightly rubbing the flesh--that felt so much like her Pokémon type steel it was almost like it wasn't really her--like some sort of shell, or armor. But it would be that armor that came in handy for this battle. "If things get too heavy for you, I'll send out someone to help you. But with your advantages in this battle, you might be able to do it all by yourself!" Now to scope out the actual challenge here. That grimer--would have to be caught. It was adorable! It was a personal favorite! He couldn't go to the Pokémon center without it! So he'd have to fight to get towards it, and the Ekans somehow seemed more frightening. Although, a snake in comparison to a pile of adorable sludge... He nodded a few times and took his battling pose, which left him in his protective stance over the Lotad. "Just to be annoying, use Harden! Then follow through with Iron Head. Don't be afraid if it tries to poison sting you, that won't get through your armor. If it tries to wrap you up, just knock it silly!" "And you--" He turned to the small grass type. "Wanna hop inside?" He lightly tossed a small pokeball at the lilypad creature. "Safe from poison!" OOC: Harden then charge forward with Iron Head. Basically, hoping flinch effects work on Alternia. :p Capture attempt in the Lotad. |

First things first: Lotad was not accepting to becoming Valentine's partner just yet. The little Pokemon seemed a little too hot-headed to be accepting some random trainer's offer to join their team, especially when he had to save the boy from what could have been detrimental to his team. This time around Valentine would have to prove the plant Pokemon differently. If he could prove he's got what it takes to be a good trainer than perhaps the flowering Pokemon would join his team. Time could only tell. The orders the young trainer had in mind for his Pokemon partner Aron were given, and with that the little warrior got to work. She was excited to just be in battle, and seeing that the enemies were poison type made it all the better. The Ekans, however, was sort of intimidating, which led to a decrease in the Aron's belief in itself, more or less lowering the Attack stat. No matter, though, Aron could still push on in this battle! Valentine's goal was to capture that filth Pokemon for whatever reason, and Aron wanted to make this happen. She started off with what her trainer requested; Stiffening her entire body the Aron readied to charge her opponent with all she had. What Valentine hadn't made clear, though was whom the target would be. With the choice on the little Aron's head, she decided to Iron Head toward the Ekans who intimidated her a bit. After all, confronting what one's afraid of is the first step to overcoming the fear. As she charged forward, Aron's face mask began to glow with a silvery metal sheen which was obviously the Iron Head attack. Although her body was heavy, the stubby little legs on the Aron helped her move quite a bit faster than one would expect. Ekans and Grimer weren't just going to sit around, however. Ekans started off his battle routine with a hissing "Ekansss!" and a lung right toward Aron. He shot of little white darts, but they just bounced off of Aron's mask. The Ekans didn't notice this until it was too late. She collided full-speed with the Aron's Iron Head, taking serious damage with a side of a concussion. Pokemon just aren't made to hit their heads that hard. Grimer, who was making his way over to aid the Ekans extended out a arm of purple sludge, Pounding Aron away from his friend. He slithered (for lack of better words) in front of the Ekans, using Harden to raise his defense capabilities. Even if Ekans didn't rise up for the rest of the battle this Grimer seemed like something that wouldn't go down too easily. Lotad had noticed that Valentine's Aron was pretty powerful from just observing this battle. He seemed intrigued by the fact that the human was able to make the Aron do such great things. He wasn't convinced that Valentine is worthy just yet, but this was surely two steps forward on that path. 6 Level Six 37/37 92%Defense raised one stage. & Level Seven 19/39 50%Concussed Versus Level Seven 35/37 87%Defense raised one stage. |

Valentine felt himself biting down on his bottom lip, his glasses becoming askew as he leaned forward in his battling stance, his arms--twisted up in fists--left his casual jacket flared out something like a cape. He'd hate for any of the cute girls that saw him catch Meowth to see him now, because he was practically squealing like a girl, tears in his eyes, his glasses not hiding the fact that he was...well. "Geeking" out. "Aron! YOU'RE SO COOL!" He turned to the Lotad, since his other Pokémon were respecting league rules and waiting in their pokeballs. "Did you see that? She was like BAM! POW! Right through that volley of darts! Hahah!" Aron, if she wasn't made out of steel and rock, might have blushed. She cocked her head slightly so one of her eyes might watch her Trainer show off obvious signs of affection and praise for her...and it felt good. Really good, actually. Before she had met him, she was just any other Aron, living in masses and eating whatever scrap she could find, and here he was telling her she was far more than just an other Pokémon. This....was one of the grandest benefits of working with a trainer, she thought--the opportunity to learn pride. So she focused her eyes on the Grimer. He didn't really seem to have a spot to attack, per say, but that pound attack did actually manage to...well, Aron almost chuckled with her own Pokémon cry as it had happened--slop against he armor. ...now, Aron didn't think she was actually going to be able to blast THROUGH the Grimer...but she might as well try, given the situation. Ever the curious one, you see-- "Aron! This is easy! Harden! Iron Head!" Her armor shifted and her cells demanded more and more strength from it, and then--she focused her energy towards her head. Take this, she thought--and rushed forward. |

True, Grimer's attempt to attack was pretty useless, but maybe he wasn't just trying to beat the crap out of Aron? Maybe the thing had something else in mind... lmao Grimers aren't that smart. Or are they? This one, for some reason, didn't seem like it was trying to hurt Aron. In fact, the little guy was trying out to the rock type. "Hey! Hey don't hurt my friend any more! Honest, he's not trying to hurt you, we're just lost and!" It seemed Aron just didn't get through. He hit the Ekans head on with Iron Head, dealing a great amount of damage. The sludge Pokemon tried yelling to Aron again, saying something along the lines of Ekans is lost and trying to find his way back to Route Four where he lives. Or something. The human who seemed to be in control of Aron shouted out something that made by Pokemon go all mushy, temporarily distracting her. This is when Ekans took his chance to attack again. The serpent launched his tail right at Aron, attempting to capture the creature in his tail. Grimer, however, intervened. The filthy creature stretched his body out, causing Ekans' tail to slap right into his slime and stop. "Grime! What are you thinking, out of my way! That Pokemon's blood is MINE!" The Grimer seemed to have taken pain from the strike against him, his eyes being the evidence. Suddenly the slime became smaller, condensing into a hardened form. "We can't! Aron's trainer could help you, Snipe! He could lead us back to the route you came from I'm sure!" The Ekans hissed at Grimer's response, launching a Leer at the Pokemon. Grimer blinked twice in fear, moving back towards Aron's side. "Snipe! You've lost yourself. I beg you, please, we can find the way back to your sister if you just let him help us!" The Ekans hissed louder this time, rearing his nasty-looking tongue. "Out of the way, Grime. I won't hesitate to damage you in my wake if I must!" The snake coiled backwards, holding his mouth shut and his head back like he was readying to launch something. Grimer's eyes narrowed on the snake. In the mean time Aron had just been observing Grimer's attempts to persuade his friend to stop, avoiding attacking for now. Ekans' coiling back, however, proved the point that it wasn't just going to stop now. And after all, Aron's trainer ordered her to attack, so she did just that. She began to use Harden before charging with Iron Head. While Aron used Harden, Ekans' head launched forward to release more of the useless Poison Stings which just deflected off the Aron's head. The little girl was ready to attack, scratching at the ground with her feet. She took off in a blitz, running right toward Ekans. "No!" Grimer shouted, diving his slime body in between the two to negate the attack. Grimer used another Harden, solidifying his body before he was struck by the oncoming Aron. When she collided with Grimer's solidified body Aron pushed in on the slimy creature a bit, but ended up repelling off of Grimer. The filth monster shrieked in pain, but still stood in the path so that Aron or Ekans couldn't attack again. "Stop! Both of you! Aron, please, urge Ekans you won't hurt him again! We need your help; Your trainer's help!" Grimer, despite being hurt unintentionally by Aron still urged for the help of her and her trainer. Pretty brave, huh? Lotad had observed this battle, and felt it was time for him to stick his nose in it. He began to waddle towards Grimer and Aron and Ekans, Valentine hardly noticing. The trainer was way to into this battle to see him make his way away from his side. "Aron, Grimer's right. Look at it, clearly the Ekans is distressed and worried. Let's get your human here to take him back home. Hey, do that and I'll partner up with you guys, okay?" It seemed a lot of this was now riding on Aron. The Pokemon had to make the choice on her own and communicate that back to her trainer, which wouldn't be an easy feat. Just if humans could understand Poke speech. Level Six Grime 24/37 77%Defense raised two stages. & Level Seven Snipe 17/39 43%Concussed Versus Level Seven 35/37 74%Defense raised two stages. Level SevenWilling to join if quest is completed. "Hahah, this is going great!" Valentine cheered, watching the battle intently. He checked his wrist for the battle read out and felt himself with a wave of momentary disappointment Aron wasn't doing more damage, but she was just one little Pokémon versus two. Still, with his fist clenched and his approving smile at Aron, it was hard not to see that he was beyond proud of his young steel-type. As Lotad moved forward, he took a few steps after it, holding his hands up in a distressing motion, about to scoop up the Pokémon up for safety, but remembering it hadn't been so keen on jumping in the Pokeball, he held back. A razor leaf to the arms wouldn't do much for his style. Not to mention, he was feeling pretty rough from the earlier events of the day. So, selfishly--he felt--he took a few steps back and grimaced, readjusting his glasses as he turned his attention back to his battlers. ---what was going on? A bunch of growl attacks? Aron turned a big blue eye up at Valentine, her skull-like face not conveying any emotion, but her eyes, at least, stirred. She had been lost, right? All the way out in the city, away from her mother, forced to eat scraps and bikes and gods-know-what-else just to survive, until this guy here had taken her home. So, she knew the feeling of loss...but being 'captured' had given her a whole new experience. ...and the feelings she had for her friends Corsola, and the new-comer Meowth, well, they weren't really worth trading off. That was life. Especially for Pokémon, it's almost destiny for any fire-willed Pokémon to end up on a trainer's battling roster. This Ekans, then, would one day make a trainer very proud. ...still, there was little honor in smashing up a few lost Pokémon and having their will broken in by a Pokeball. Aron have her body a little shake and rearranged her feet, and tried to focus. There was really know what for her to convey 'route 4', especially since whatever these Pokémon were calling route 4 didn't translate well to our phrase, nor was it really easy to convey 'these Pokémon are lost' in pantomime. ...and, hell. Aren't we all lost? You wander, you get dispatched by battles, a giant bird-type carries you around for a while. You live and you adapt. That's what's great about being a POKéMON--constantly growing stronger, constantly letting new life experience develop you. "Sorry, Lotad. This is what makes a Pokémon great." She clenched down her body and awaiting for the attack command, which came swiftly-- "Harden up! Then Iron Head!" --and as her armor became increasingly powerful, "If you step in, he'll slap the rest of the party on you, Lotad. This is a Pokémon Battle." And, with the pride in her cry of being a trained Pokémon who didn't have to bother with an inconvenience such as being lost in the wild, she nearly howled, head becoming a shiny mass as she charged into the defending Grimer. OOC: Aron gave it some thought and weighed it against her own experiences and went for 'trainer's pride'. And she's right--if Lotad moves into attack Aron, he'll send out Meowth to intercept, and Corsola to help balance the poison types to 1 on 1 each. |

Even if Aron's words were sent out to help avoid Lotad getting hurt, he still hadn't given an answer to the Grimer who was holding back Ekans, and from the looks of things he wasn't doing well to interpret the message. Valentine's shout of commands and Aron's getting ready to execute the moves, however, provided a solid answer for the sludge. His eyes shut, his body executing another Harden attack. "Please...please Aron, please!" Too late. Aron had charged up with Harden as commanded, using another Iron Head combo attack. She launched her little body forward, smashing into the Grimer. This time she went deeper into the Pokemon, definitely dealing a lot more damage than before. Looking like he was seriously hurt from the move, Grimer was only able to condense into a ball of sludge, freeing Ekans. Instead of doing what was probably predicted, Ekans slithered up next to the Grimer, pushing at him with his scaly purple head. "Grime! Grime no, you idiot! I told you I could handle anything myself but no, go out and be the hero taking the bullet for a friend." Ekans dug his head into the slime deeper, emerging after a few short seconds. From within the sludge the Ekans pulled out a blue-wrapped treat, which he promptly swallowed after eying down the enemies one more time. Ekans leveled up! The snake let out a hiss, approaching Aron in an S formation across the ground. He suddenly launched his tail out, wrapping the Pokemon target in it. "This is for what you've done to my friend!" His head launched forward, executing a Bite attack right on the Aron. Normally the attack wouldn't hurt as bad as it did, but Ekans seemed strike right on the Aron's neck, chomping down hard as he did so. Lotad observed all of this, figuring what he should do. Although the Pokemon wanted Aron to end this the right way and have his trainer just help the Pokemon out it seems it wasn't going to work that way. He didn't plan on ditching, though. The walking lily-pad simply made his way back to Valentine's side, plopping down the ground next to him and taking a nap. He did not seem amused by any of this. Level Six Grime 15/37 72%Defense raised three stages. Unconscious for this round only, hence making no moves. & Eight Seven Snipe 19/41 33%Versus Level Seven 26/37 61%Defense raised three stages. OoC: K, I kinda still want to do a plot with the Lotad seeing as his role was going to be in the Poions' plot, but if you don't wanna just say the word "Open" in your request and you're free. |

"Agh, dammit!" Aron turned a sour eye at the Ekans, shaking off the critical hit and flinching from the pain. Instead of opening herself up for more pain, though, she sighed and looked back at her Trainer. This Ekans was getting desperate. And the Grimer was down for the count, or so it seemed. ...it just didn't bode well to be so cruel when there was a peaceful solution. ...well, not peaceful, since Aron was a battler at heart, but a solution that felt a little better in her small, rock-hard, almost-robotic heart. "...let's get you home," She said, eying the Ekans carefully. She knew the Ekans wouldn't last much longer against her, and hopefully the snake knew that, too. She back peddled a few steps and then--almost as if out of joy--made her way over to Valentine, nudging the Lotad to let him know she was taking his side of things, and looked up at Valentine with her big, expressive eyes. "Let's help them!" --- Valentine bit down on his lip as the bite attack made his Aron flinch, and he skirted carefully--so that he might still protect the little Lotad with his body--around to get a better look. That Grimer, despite being down, sure enough didn't look knocked out. His wrist-device told him that much, anyway. As Aron voiced her frustration at being attacked, he was all but ready to give the command to attack again, since this battle looked like it was easily in his court of things, but when the little monster came up to his feet and seemingly barked up at him, he couldn't help but cock his head. "What are you doin'? Don't turn your back on someone who wants to eat you! He'll eat you, you know!" She turned her head back towards the Ekans and made her cry again, and then looked back up at him. She didn't seem afraid at all, and within good reason, Valentine thought, but rather...worried? It's hard to make out the facial expression of something wearing a hunk of armor...you know, for a body. He crouched down and started to offer his arm for her to run up, but the idea of her weight turned the motion into a gentle petting, rubbing the ginger area where she had just been bitten. "What is it, girl?" He worked his lips in deep thought, looking up at the two poison types, and rubbed the back of his neck with one hand, and the back of hers with the other. "They're just wild Pokémon, right? We're supposed to beat them up." Logical reasoning, right? "I mean, they're pretty high level, so they're not really babies, right?" Didn't look like babies, anyway. "And even if they're parents, well...that's how it goes? Agh..." He stood up, and turned up his palms at the sky, shaking his head a few times. "Fine, fine. I didn't even WANT battling experience. You're in charge, love." --- "Awesome," Aron remarked, turning back to the poison types. "See? That easy. Let's get you home." At the 'completion' of battle, Meowth took that as a sure enough reason to shake herself out of her ball and find herself back on Valentine's shoulder, although Corsola was beyond happy to nap inside her containment device. She mewed and purred against his neck while he took the few steps to catch up with Aron, looking down at the Poison-types. For the local fauna, they were probably the most dangerous to human beings, so he kept a fair distance. Aron was all but immune to their particular brand of nasty, though, so he felt at least somewhat secure in letting her be the middle-man in all of this. OOC: I'm assuming Aron's intimate enough with her surroundings to lead Valentine and company off to the proper route. |

The past shapes up, but we shape the future.

In the nick of time, Grimer's pleas requesting Aron's help finally were answered with just what he was looking for this whole time. Gripping the ground with his sewer-slime arms, Grimer literally pulled himself back together, forming back the recognizable Grimer. Ekans wasn't completely sure that Aron could be trusted after what she had done thus far, but Grimer hurrying to follow her toward her trainer forced the snake into complying. No, he didn't want to have to accept that this beast that battered her around would be her savior, but the thought of being home once again was helpful. After Aron had convinced his human to do good with her rather undeniable request for command, Lotad too became convinced that Aron's ability to do good was something to marvel at. He waddled his body to Aron's side as she guided her trainer with Grimer and Ekans right behind her, beginning to speak to her before he even got up close. "You're quite the little talker, aren't you?" Lotad seemed to have more than a plan to make casual conversation here, of course. "The way you fought out there was pretty impressive, too. You did a number on those wild Pokemon, Aron. Actually they look pretty--" Right in the middle of Lotad's casual conversation, Ekans collapsed to the ground, Grimer right by his side helping him back up best he could. "You okay, buddy?" The Ekans swallowed and shut his eyes hard, opening them after a few moments had passed. "Yeah--I'll make it." The serpent began to slither his way along quite haphazardly. He was slowing down, falling behind the pack often. "Hey, Aron, maybe we should get those two to the Pokemon Center in town--it's right there after all." Aron's wander had lead her to the main street of the town, and across the way from there lied the Pokemon Center. The building stood out among the others, having a distinct feature of the classic Pokemon symbol--a giant red and white Poke Ball adorning the roof. Even if Aron chose to stop and have the Poison types looked at under the consent of a nurse, she would eventually continue along, easily finding her way out to the paved road that was accordingly labeled Route Four. Easily enough, Ekans was home. The path looked empty, but Ekans rose his tail into the air, chiming it back and forth while hissing into the air as well. Lotad sat in amazement, perhaps Aron and Meowth and even Valentine would be impressed as well. He (the Ekans) would continue for about a minute, until a smaller version of himself emerged from the brush. The smaller snaked slithers to Ekans, guiding him home. Well, another day another job well done. The kicker? Lotad walked over to Aron, kneeling down before her. "Give your trainer the command, I wanna see what it is like to be within a Poke Ball." That's another check on today's accomplishments list. And all good things come in sets of three, Grimer being the third. The sludge Pokemon parted ways with Ekans, but decided to tag along with Aron and her trainer, hopefully to one day become as powerful as they were in the battle earlier today. Well, in the end Valentine didn't have to capture either of them, but from his attitude before it wasn't expected for him to just leave the creatures out in the cold. OOC: Just so we're clear, I'm going to work with the assumption that it's fine for me to assume these Pokémon are captured easily, since that appears how things turned out, and start this post with Valentine making his way back to his hometown. I'd like to have captured the two in my standard Pokeballs, if you please. The poor kid scratched the back of his head, his glasses askew and his clothing looking worse for wear, as he held the dirty little disc in his hands. Why, the only technical machines he had ever seen were behind glasses cases in ritzy stores, and even those were for more household uses, what particularly came to mind were simple weather altering abilities to give respite to a rainy season or even call the rain for drying plants. The one he held now--after a quick cleaning with a pants leg--was decidedly a combat-oriented technique. One that allowed for a particularly nasty breed of Poison to be spread. ...not that he had a Pokémon that would use such a technique. As he said that, the new found weight on his waist seemed to remind him he did indeed come out of the sidetracked adventure with two new Pokémon. A Grimer, a personal favorite, and a Lotad, which he wasn't really familiar with at all. Still, he felt like he was relatively alone, now, leaning against a building in a fairly empty ally, with all his Pokémon safe in their containment devices. Five Pokémon, meaning three captures on his very first day on the field. He couldn't help smiling at that, especially since he had some relatively cool Pokémon, in comparison to a generic bird type or a rat or something, so he was doing a lot better off than the stories would have lead him to believe. He tucked the disc into his bag and ran his hand through his hair, feeling the better part of exhaustion work it's way through his arms, but looking skyward, it was barely in the afternoon, even after all that running around. And his two trips to the Pokémon center had had him awkwardly walking in with an injured, wild Pokémon, much to the ridicule of the more experienced trainers stopping in for a routine visit. Still, he'd be that cool one day, with high leveled Pokémon. ...maybe even EVOLVED Pokémon, if he was lucky. He felt the weight of his body shift uneasily, so he slid down to sit on the dirty ground, figuring that the accumulated filth of the day rendered it fairly useless to complain about dirt now, and pulled off the Pokémon Watch, sitting it in his lap, rubbing the area that it had covered for most of the day. Still wasn't used to that weight, and he felt fidgety and listless. It was hard to argue he was doing anything wrong, for a new trainer, especially since he took on this adventure as an excuse to skip out on exams, but his head still thought he'd have to head home soon, to get to sleep for school in the morning. "Heheh..." He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes, his temples. "Hahahah! Hahahahahahah!" Oh, how the weight of the world was slipping off of his shoulders. That's right, he had a few solid months of no school to go running around, making friends and having battles and capturing Pokémon, and it was all socially acceptable. A rite of passage, even. And, even still, he was in the later part of his high schooling, so he was more educated than plenty of the trainers he'd find on the road. It was almost like an unfair advantage, congnatively speaking. So, he ran through the options on his Watch, it suddenly feeling much smaller with a two-handed grip. Aron, a friendly wild Pokémon, Corsola, a store-bought and trained-from-birth type, then the three captures he made today. The inexperienced Meowth, that he had taken to calling Holiday, the self named Grime, and a cute little lilypad. Aron and Grimer were both fairly cool, 'manly' Pokémon. And, as sweet as Corsola and Holiday were, they ended up looking more like girly vanity pets...but he'd make do. Corsola had a lot of fight in him, after all, and Holiday was more than excited about battles. And that Lotad--well, it just showed up being a badass, didn't it? And the variety of types he had on his belt was giving him plenty of battling options, too. Couldn't get better than this, he thought. Readjusting his glasses on his face, restrapping the watch to his wrist, he stood up and checked himself over, brushing off the dust and grime, and eyed the skyline with a....apprehension he couldn't really place. Maybe now would be an opportune time for his first trainer battle. Or maybe a search for a bigger, more...well, masculine Pokémon. It'd be nice to have something that he could bond with on a personal level, instead of a more trainer/trainee level, but none of his Pokémon really called out to him that way. All in due time, though. Rubbing his neck, that old nervous habit, he walked out into the busy streets and was suddenly assaulted with the sounds and bustle of the city, transitioning from a weary adventurer to a slick city kid in an instant. He popped his headphones into his ears and turned on his smooth jazz, a grin on his face. The day was still swelling about him! |

That's absolutely fine, Valentine - I'd recommend that you request me from now on until this plot I am putting you in is over. Congratulations! You've managed to get yourself a Grimer and a Lotad! The fact that the Grimer had a TM attached to him had some use - after all, if you don't want it, you can sell it! Since you're aspiring to be a breeder, maybe a combat-orientated move such as Toxic wasn't that much use to you - especially since your Grimer already knows a move that works in a similar way to the move locked inside the disc. However, that really doesn't matter quite so much at the moment - because in your peripheral vision, a young Pidgey was seemingly struggling against another pokémon - quite what a Pidgey was doing in Millenia Town, I can't say. As you turned to face the Pidgey, you noticed a seemingly cocky male teenager - though in truth, if you had a Shinx and you were facing a Pidgey, you'd feel cocky too. After all, the flying type has a huge disadvantage over it's electric counterpart. However, it was soon clear that the Pidgey wasn't that trainer's main priority - as you stepped forward from behind the building you had hidden behind to take a closer look, the teenager turned to face you with glee in his eyes. "I was wondering when somebody would finally show up to battle me!" he stated, recalling both pokémon into their pokéballs - which made it clear that the trainer in front of you was merely sparring whilst waiting for somebody. Clearly, that somebody is now you. "Come on you! Send out a pokémon and battle me!" the teenage trainer yelled, taking out another pokéball from his pocket - now it was obvious that wasn't going to take no for an answer. In truth, you can't say no anyway - it's an unwritten rule that once trainer's lock eyes, you have to fight. However, the fact is that the rule is unwritten - and as such, you could quite possibly refuse to battle this arrogant teenager. It's simple enough - you could refuse this battle, just to be able to get away from this cocky teenager and get home. On the other hand, you could accept it, and try to strengthen your pokémon team. Your choice, lad. |
