Bringing sexy back? Apparently?
Ran, still tired from the previous battle, faced off against the snake while the officer targeted the Dunsparce. I honestly have no clue as to what a Dunsparce is, or what it’s supposed to be, but it’s there and you need to defeat it. Ekans moved first, slithering over and rearing back, opening its mouth and firing its Poison Sting attack at Ran. Ran countered by taking the hit, which hit for minimal damage due to type matchup and used Confuse Ray. The Ekans was now confused, and thrashed about trying to determine its objective and its own thoughts. During this time, Ran hit it with a Constrict, squeezing tightly; however, due to the serpentine body of Ekans, it was able to slip through Ran’s grasp, escaping with minimal injury but injury non-the-less.

The officer, wielding the fire canine, decided it’d be best to go Molotov on its butt and continually use Ember. Seemed like a plan I could get behind. In any case, as the flames poured out of Growlithe’s mouth, the first one connected, but not after Rage was used. The second one missed as Dunsparce moved to the side and used Rage again, headbutting Growlithe and dealing damage. Growlithe backed off but stared down the whateveritis and waited for further commands.

For the time being I am retired from Alternia. Due to the nature of my work, I've become very busy and time here is hard to find. I shall return eventually however.

Azedenkae

Hm... What to do? What to do? Indeed, Azedenkae pondered the question. The snake dude is confused, that's for sure, so there's not really a need for another confuse move. Poison Sting is ineffective, as the Ekans just showed... Attract won't work, since they're both female... that leaves Constrict and Blizzard, and, well, Constrict didn't work, obviously.

So, Blizzard it is!

"Rán, use Bliizzard on that Ekans! If your opponent is frozen, then use Constrict on her! Other wise, use Blizzard on her again! You can do it!" Azedenkae told Rán. The good thing about having an opponent that's confused is the fact that it is hard for them to react properly to anything, and they can't attack properly as well, some times. In fact, to him, Confuse is probably the worse status ailment one could be inflicted with. After all, the rest are a lot more constant - everything's pretty much easy to calculate. With Confuse, it can go any one way. Not that the other status ailments aren't cool.

He kind of wished he actually chose to fight Dunsparce - Attraction, Poison and Confusion - that would completely ruin the guy, for sure. Oh wells. Hope that the officer did better this time, with that Dunsparce.

I know you're out there somewhere...
I'm not entirely sure what this nice ref business is all about, though I feel that it's a silly award to hand out to someone, seeing as how they could use it and receive a ref that puts them at an advantage even if they don't really deserve it. But I am not one to bother with such things, and as such will do my best to simply just give you a ref that does nicely for you, and I think that you'll find that it is a nice ref. Your jellyfish Pokemon started to power up a Blizzard as Ekans focused on her and went in for a Poison Sting, striking and slithering off. Then she was going to try to use a Bite, but did hurt herself this time, probably biting herself or some other silly thing like that. Blizzard hit by now, causing a nice amount of damage, and at first you thought that she was frozen, but as she moved somewhat you knew that she wasn't. Another was used, almost completely depleting your Pokemon of her energy, and this time the Frozen status was given.

Meanwhile, the officer started commanding Growlithe to use a Bite attack followed by an Ember. The pup went in for his attack, and the flying weird Pokemon just took it, which of course raised his own attack and he struck back with the Rage. An Ember was used, and again Dunsparce's Attack was raised and he tried using Rage, but this time failed to actually hit the running dog. It appears that things are going slightly better there, which is a good thing to hear, no?

But it appears that you're not out of the woods quite yet, for another Pokemon just came from the sky and landed next to the Ekans, clearly about to try to defend it from your Blizzard using Tentacool. Well that's alright, because Ekans is frozen, so she can't do anything, making it possible to focus your attacks on this new adversary. Or you could just use another one of your Pokemon. Whichever you think is best.

Yes, it was working well! Or so he thought, until another Pokemon appeared. Just when he almost defeated the Ekans too. Think fast, think fast!

Okay, okay, info first. Azedenkae whipped out his Poketech, opened up the Pokedex program and pointed it at the Twinkel to get some info.

'Twinkel. A rare star Pokemon that is said to fall down from the sky every 2000 years, known to be friendly and joyful. Psychic Type. Has abilities Illuminate and Levitate.'

Interesting... Although he could defeat Ekans, and then do something about the Twinkel, if the entry is correct, then this is a very, very rare occurrence. And to let this chance slide past... that simply won't do.

Oh well, let's try to make this work.

Azedenkae took out a Pokeball and tossed it at the Ekans, whilst turning towards the Twinkel.

"Hi there..." He told the Twinkel. "My name is Azedenkae, nice to meet you." Azedenkae smiled at it, trying to project as friendly of a projection as possible. He knew that Ran doesn't have a lot of energy left, especially with the amount of Blizzards it has used, so if he could avoid a fight, it was best.

Though, he still kept an eye on the Ekans, in case he did not succeed in catching it.

OOC: Attempting to catch the Ekans. Erm, try again until it succeeds?

This is turning into an interesting battle. I'm not even going to ask how the Twinkel fell from the sky when you're in a cave. I'm just going to accept that it's a weird world and get on with your ref.

So, first up, your attempt to capture the confused and frozen Ekans. Now, everything's pointing towards a straightforward catch, with the two conditions and the HP below half, but you never know what this weird world will decide to do. Anyhow, your Pokeball sailed gracefully through the air, but the raging Dunsparce decided that the Pokeball was a threat, flew a few inches into the air and knocked it. The ball somehow still landed on the Ekans, and after a few tense moments of rocking, the snake was caught.

New Pokemon!

Wrap, Leer, Poison Sting, Bite

The Dunsparce, however, had knocked the pokeball with its head, causing a little damage and dazing it slightly. The officer took advantage of this, and quickly commanded his Growlithe to attack the dazed Dunsparce. The fire pokemon leapt in, first using Ember on the Dunsparce. It wasn't the wisest of all decisions, because the attack seemed to knock the weird snake pokemon out of its daze, as well as raising its attack once again and causing it to lash out wildly. Luckily, the Growlithe leaped nimbly out of the way, causing the Dunsparce to miss. The dog then charged in again and dealt a quick bite to the Dunsparce's tail, but this time, the wild Rage attack hit.

Back to you and the Twinkel you're trying to befriend. As your Poketech had said, these rare star pokemon were pretty friendly, and it seemed to react well to your gentle introduction. "Twinkel!" it chirped happily. Everything seemed to be going well, until the little star caught sight of Ran and the officer's Growlithe, who was growling at the Dunsparce. "Twinkel!!" it cried out, seemingly afraid of the two pokemon. It then began to slowly drift away, further into the cave.

Yes! He had caught another Pokemon, another item to put up on trade. Another item to power up Ran even further. The Twinkel may or may not be the same - from its description, it was special, so he may let it be a special case, a third Pokemon on his team, besides the Dunsparce - that thing'd be useful, thanks to its ability, so it's staying as well. Oh wells.

Focusing on the Twinkel now...

Oh no, it's moving away! Azedenkae thought, as he saw the Twinkel started moving away. He noted that the Growlithe was growling at the thing, and knew that he needed to diffuse the situation fast. He still had the option of a fight, but well, with this thing and its description, talking was probably the better choice. He quickly withdrew Ran, and ran after the Twinkel. "Wait, wait a sec! We mean you no harm!" Indeed not. At least, he didn't - though the Growlithe kind of ruined things. "Don't run away... I just want to talk..." Azedenkae spoke to it, stopping when he came close enough. He then tried to slowly approach it, to show that he really wasn't trying to be aggressive, and just want to talk.

Ran disappeared in a flash of light as you ran after the Twinkel, who continued to disappear into the darkness of the cave, lighting it up with an eerie glow. The officer watched you run away, and called after you. "Hey, where d'you think you're going?!" he cries, clearly unaware of the Twinkel's presence. As you continue to run, the officer just shrugs and commands his Growlithe to finish the Dunsparce off.

Back to you, you finally caught up with the floating Twinkel, and slowly began to approach it. The Twinkel turned around warily, and for a moment, everything was silent and tense. And then, woah, the Twinkel charged forwards and squeezed itself between your two feet. "Twin twinkel?" it chirped. If I'm right, that translates as 'Will you protect me?'. It looks like the Growlithe scaring the little Twinkel is turning to your advantage... It's seems like the Twinkel's pretty willing to join you in return for protection from the Growlithe, and probably protection in general. It probably means it won't be much use in battle, but still an awesome pokemon to have all the same, right?

As this happened, you hear a loud cry from where the officer and the two pokemon were. Turning back, you just catch the Growlithe performing an impressive Ember on the Dunsparce, who then shudders and becomes still. If I'm not wrong, the Growlithe's just knocked the Dunsparce out, and you're free to move on. The Twinkel hears the cry and whines gently, but stays put in its, uh, hiding place between your shoes.
