Just when you were wondering where you were going, you finally saw the world beyond the portal you walked into. Plains rolled before you, and for the first time in a long time you heard the noises that told you Pokemon were around. Looking around, you saw a lot of other people appearing around you, obviously coming from Tohea as well. Pokemon also kept popping up around you, clearly the ones who have been disappearing from Tohea, meaning that you found the answer. You just found out where these Pokemon were going, although in doing so, you’ve managed to go to the same place. Is that good, or is that bad? Well that really depends on how you look at it, don’t you think? Either way, I must tell you… WELCOME TO ALTERNIA! You saw a huge sign in the middle of the plains, with Alternia clearly printed upon it, obviously the name of the region you’ve come to. The good news is that you’re safe from whatever was going on in Tohea. However, the bad news is you’ll never be able to return to Tohea, or the world that it was placed upon. Everyone you ever knew before could possibly be trapped in Tohea, meaning that you may never see them again. You should however consider yourself lucky, for I can tell you that Tohea has been completely destroyed by the beings that were fighting in the sky there. Or it will be if it hasn’t already. But to try to give you some good news, you have plenty of Pokemon around you to battle and possibly capture if you would like to. Or you could try traveling somewhere, as there are two routes leading out of this area, which apparently is named Joukai Pass. Route One is one of the routes, which will lead to Nogou Village, whatever that is. It also can take you to Route Two which will take you to another place called Kijutsu City. Then Route Five, the other route will take you Millenia Town, although there is a warning stating that Pokemon on Route Five are stronger than usual. So what will it be? This Pokemon that wants to battle, or a route right away to find out where the hell you are and how you came to be there? :burmy Level 9

The past shapes up, but we shape the future.

Whatever in the world had just happened Neo couldn't explain. It would seem to him that he just got portaled over to this foreign land from the region which he once traveled, but at the same time this place looked quite the same. Oddly enough, Mizu was too transported to wherever the two found themselves now. Ending up on his head, Mizu quickly flipped over and reoriented himself, quickly scurrying over to the protective arms of his trainer. Neo was quick to embrace the little turtle, hugging him tight. "I know, I know, Mizu. It's all so scary! Where are we even!?" Neo hadn't been able to think up the answers to his own questions, which wasn't a good thing especially since he was suppose to know this stuff for Mizu's sake. In short, Neo had no idea at all what this whole thing was about. The trainer decided it would be best to make sure everything was in working order, starting with himself. After flailing all of his appendages around for a bit, the young trainer grabbed hold of his bag to inspect its contains. For the most part everything seemed to be in place, and, yeah, it all was. Hey, there were even a few added discs to his TM case! Score. "And now the most important part...." Neo grabbed hold of his backpack's outer pouch, digging through it for the red and white devices known as pokeballs. He noticed a black one with a golden H on it, which seemed to have been added in along the way. Other than that, though, his three pokeballs that actually contained pokemon seemed good and well. Neo expanded all three of the spheres, releasing his pokemon into wherever it was they were. At first inspection it seemed that all of the creatures were perfectly fine, which was just what Neo expected, really. If they weren't, lawsuits would have surely followed. Magnex and Talael came right up to greet their trainer, but Phin...Phin. The Magikarp just kinda of sat there on the ground, not even preforming a splash attack or anything. No, Neo doesn't hate the fish, he just thinks its really ugly and kinda super useless, which makes him have a strong disliking of it. Often times in the past the trainer tormented the creature with harsh words and even physical abuse, which would explain why it really didn't like him. Neo kinda wanted to just trade it off, really. He had no use for a useless fish. Neo's starter pokemon, Magnex, whom he'd received from his grandfather, was overjoyed (however a robot becomes overjoyed is a question for a later date) to see its trainer in the flesh for the first time in sometime. The machine hadn't a clue what had gone on, but its internal workings told it it was like a really bad LSD trip that resulted in Neo & Co. arriving where they are now. Way to watch over your kids, Mama+Pa Neo. Anyways, Magnex [literally] sparked with joy as it circled about its trainer. The boy, too, seemed quite happy to once again be with his oldest pokemon, and was glad to see he was unharmed. Talael, observing from afar, kinda wished he and Neo had a relationship like that. It had been quite some time since the trainer payed any sort of attention to the ruffin pokemon, and quite honestly he was getting a bit annoyed with it; no one likes ignorance. At all. Instead of making a scene about it, however, Talael kept his feelings to himself and just carried on with his ways, scurrying toward Mizu. Mizu, with unanswered questions, pushed Magnex right out of its trainer's grip, making room for the turtle to settle in. Neo giggled at the antics of his little squirtle, but Magenx and Talael did not seem the least bit entertained. Both of them crossed eyes, showing the disappointment they shared in common. Ever since Mizu came along Neo's been spending more and more time with him, ignoring his original partners even existed. And it hurt their feelings. And Magnex's built in feelings. |

After the session of getting all acquainted to this new land was over, Neo quickly got on way to discovering what it was his purpose here was. "Well, judging by these somewhat familiar faces I'm going to go out on a limb and say Tohea was destroyed in an epic clash of the legends, but in a last-ditch attempt to save its population someone, probably like Mew or something, sent all the humans and pokemon that inhabitant the region to this new place." Yeah, like I said, out on a limb. Mizu was standing next to his human trainer, tugging on the shorts the boy was wearing to grab his attention. Neo looked down to his pokemon with a smile wide across his face. "That what you think, too, Mizu?" Mizu just gave him this "You're crazy" look. He really had something to tell the human, but now he forgets. Nice going, Neo. In the distraction of being misunderstood, Mizu observed something a few feet in front of him. Something within a tree was moving around a bit, but only when Mizu's eyes met it. He assumed it was probably another pokemon, but it wasn't until he released a small trickle of bubble that his theory would be confirmed. Neo continued to ramble on about his Chaos Theory which really hadn't a point. At all. Mizu, however, was focusing on that thing he'd spotted lurking about the tree. The squirtle's bubble came in contact with the...thing, causing leaves to fall off of the whatever it was. The assumed pokemon got all sorts of freaked out by this, and fell straight from the tree to the ground after the leaves Mizu had knocked right off of its body. Still, Neo wasn't paying any attention. With curiosity great in his eyes, Mizu scampered forward toward the bug-like creature that he'd knocked from the tree. "Hello?" he asked. The bug, though, seemed a bit too preoccupied in redressing itself than to answer the pokemon's questioned greeting. Mizu wasn't exactly offended by this; he knew the frustration of strangers seeing you naked! Neo, however, hadn't even noticed his Squirtle had run off to find out what that thing was. In fact, he was still going on about his elaborate idea that that abra he'd met was really a god in disguise and that Neo was blessed and should now worship all sorts of Abras. And then he said he wanted one. Bad. Returning to Mizu, we can see that he is quite confused when it comes to figuring a pokemon that's not him out. The creature looked like it was in a battle-ready position, which had the squirtle on a sort of high-guard. By this time Neo had noticed Mizu was missing. At first he had a minipanic-attack, but after he'd spotted the blue tail of the creature just a few meters off he'd calmed down to his nonchalant mood and rushed toward his pokemon, but in a cool-manner. Neo was practically hovering over his pokemon, Mizu, and the wild Burmy-thing that looked like it wanted to fight. "EW!" Was the trainer's initial reaction. "Like, serious, EW. Mizu!!" Mizu's eyes turned scared- he quickly jolted behind his trainer's legs. Yeah, Mizu knew how to get Neo to not scold him for doing things the trainer did not approve of. Neo, however, was still going to go off on how much he detests bug types. Smooth, Mizu. "Do, do you SEE that...that...THING!? It's a horrible, nasty, ugly, smelly, STUPID bug-type pokemon, Mizu!" The squirtle put on the water works a bit, trying to look defenseless and scared and what not. "What have I told you about playing with such fou-- Oh!! Oh, my baby! No, no, Mizu, don't cry! Daddy Neo will make it all better! We'll fight this horrible creature, target practice my baby!" Mizu's face on the outside was still a T_T, but, on the inside he was so >=Ding. |

"Yuck," Neo's intolerance of bug types dates back to God knows when. He really, really didn't like the creatures. Like...one bit at all. And at this time, he really, really didn't want to have his precious little Squirtle be corrupted by one. "Mizu, babe, show 'em what we do to nasty bug types!" As soon as his trainer's commands rolled out, Mizu's tears stopped and his >D face came on. The little turtle sprung from behind his trainer and into a position that would be perfect to start the battle between him and the nasty-assty bug creature in front of him. In reality, though, Mizu really didn't have any reason to dislike bugs- it just kinda set the mood better when he detested them as much as his trainer does. The squirtle clenched his fists, waiting for Neo to think up a genius plot to eliminate the bug-typed Burmy. Consulting his wrist-watch PokeTech for info on the pokemon, the human trainer stood by as it loaded info on the bug-type. "First things first," Neo started. "We're going to have to devise a battle plan. No worries, though, I think I have one in store. Yeah," The trainer paused as he perused the information about the device. Since had a through understanding on this pokemon, or at least of what information his PokeDex device gave off about this creature, Neo began to ramble on his battle strategy to his near-by compadre. "The method is simple, we'll open up with a combination of Tail Whip and Tackle attack." To make sure his words were heard, Neo used his hands to further state what he was saying. "Close in on the enemy first, and give him a good tickle with your tail, like so," Good thing no one was watching, because Neo just rubbed his read-end up toward the sky, pretending he was squirtle and had a tail and was using the move Tail Whip on a wild Burmy. "And then hit hard with Tackle!' Neo's example of this was to force himself toward the air he'd Tail Whipped and sorta piledrive into it, but without falling. Although he really should have been laughing, Mizu knew the importance of keeping serious when it came to battles. The little turtle got on one knee, searching out the weakspot on his target. Right now it wasn't in plain visibility, but the battle was just starting; Mizu had quite some time to find a good position to attack from. Hopefully he'd find it himself, though, because then Neo would be super happy with him, which was what he strived for. |

A rather awkward way to tell your Pokemon what to do but I guess it should work. Mizu nodded whne you gave him his orders and tried not to laugh while you acted it out. And shortly after, he went to work on the much disliked Burmy. I actually like them but that's just my opinion. Go ahead and think waht you want to. Mizu was running toward the Burmy and was getting ready to use Tail Whip. The move hit and the Burmy's defense was succesfully lowered and did a small amout of damage too. He then went to Tackle the Burmy but was stopped by some transparent force feild. The Burmy was using Protect so that any attacks against it wouldn't do any damage. Looks like you have a battle to continue. Good Luck! Level 9 ![]() 43/43 93%-----Versus----- :burmy Level 9 ![]() 41/43 100%

Oh, it's a move tutoring post! Letting out a dissatisfied sigh, Neo wasn't exactly enthralled by his partner's attempt at breaking through the enemy's defense. Mizu did pull of an ice-breaker that got to the enemy, but it's not like it put the target in a critical state or anything. The human's solution? Hit harder next time. Of course, Neo figured he needed to do something flashy and totally uncalled for. So, in the typical Neo fashion, the trainer got right to trying to force a move out of his pokemon it didn't the slightest idea of how to use. "Mizu! That was pathetic, unacceptable!" Mizu held out his hand, protesting his trainer's complaint. The boy completely ignored his little squirtle's plea, because he knew that the pokemon too was feeling the way Neo was; neither of the duo took failure lightly. (That's why they hate Phin.) Mizu juggled his head, wondering exactly what his trainer had in mind for him today. Knowing the boy, it was more than likely something extravagant, but worth it in the long run. "Squirtle, squirt!" Neo let his head bob, producing the universal symbol for "yes." After giving his answer, the trainer snapped his fingers, and pointed toward a position on the ground, which meant for Mizu to be front and center right away. The pokemon scurried over to the heels of his trainer, standing upright for his briefing. "The enemy bug hardly looks capable of getting food on its on let alone being a threat in battle to us, so for now we're going to tutor you a new move, got it?" Neo's words were quick and blunt, but his faithful accomplice got the gist of what he was meant to hear. This would be the first time Neo would be teaching his Pokemon a move through description alone, so it would probably be difficult for the both of them. In the past, though, Neo had successfully tutored members of his team to use moves they didn't know through means of words- this time it wouldn't be any different. "So the technique is called Aqua Tail. Implying the name I guess you turns your tail to H2O and bash at the opponent with it for a bit until it goes unconscious or something?" Mizu giggled a bit to himself. Humored by his trainer, the little Squirtle attempted to execute what his trainer had said, but he had no clue how to even start on something like that. Perplexed by the seemingly impossibility of making his tail turn to water somehow, Mizu formulated something of a sager approach. The water type knew his body well, and knew that he had pores and other orifices that could make H2O at will. So, using his brain, the pokemon immediately focused toward those to produce some sort of moisture to get a basis for the attack going. Neo's mind wasn't exactly on track with Mizu's, and he quite honestly hadn't a clue what the little guy was even cooking up. (Or out, rather.) He didn't want to disrupt the pokemon, however, seeing as it might have found a good solution to their training daze. So, for now, Neo let Mizu do his thing as the human sat back and waited. |

So, you planned on teaching your squirtle, Mizu, Aqua Tail, right? Well, good luck with that because without necessarily knowing how the attack works... you're pretty much screwed. None the less, your little turtle thing seemed to know atleast a little about what it was going. You saw some little droplets of water starting to appear on its tail after it concentrated for a while, and Burmy seemed to be just hangin' out like he had been before. Eventually, Mizu decided to try out the attack and charged towards the Burmy. As your Squirtle neared the motionless bug you could see the water droplets starting to drip off of its tail, and eventually his tail was back to being dry. So when he leapt towards the Burmy to bring his tail down on the little bug, all he really did was use a Strike attack to, well, strike it. Oh, it's a move tutoring post! A failed attempt at summoning his inner wata powas had Mizu feeling a bit unaccomplished. He pondered what had gone wrong, and really didn't see what it was he was doing. That's because it was what he wasn't doing. A light-bulb snapped on in the turtle's head, filling with an immensity of ideas of what to do that would get this move to be successful. Although he was young, Mizu had a tad of intellect. Also because he was Neo's Pokémon he automatically was better than any other squirtle, meaning he would eventually master the move. Eventually. Neo's mind wasn't too focused on the battle, and instead wrapped around getting Mizu to perfection with this Aqua Tail attack. He was thinking in particular about moves that required the use of tails, or water, or a combination of both. Moves that came to mind were: Tail Whip, Swagger, Water Gun, Hydro Pump. Great, Neo thought to himself. Mizu only knows one move out of any of them, and that move is basically useless. The trainer scratched his head, thinking of something he could throw out there that would help Mizu. --- And then, a flashback! The morning sun was rising over Lake Vanity in New Jypsum, Aphotic, and Neo's eyes were opening to a whole new day. The boy, six years of age, was waking up to another day of lessons on the fundamentals of Pokémon by none other than Neo's grandfather, Jupiter. Jupiter himself was a very accomplished Pokémon trainer, having collected a total of eleven gym badges over his career as a Pokémon trainer, along with three contest ribbons. He was a rolemodel to Neo, preaching his learnings from having traveled as a Pokémon trainer himself all of his life. At the moment, Jupiter was teaching Neo using his Poliwhirl as an example. "You see, Neo, all water type Pokémon have the ability to produce water from within their bodies at will. It takes a talented Pokémon to be able to muster up enough of this water to use a powerful attack, however. Mizu here has learned a great amount from our travels together, and surely can produce a powerful Hydro Pump only using his inner water." As Jupiter explained how a water type Pokémon actually is able to use as much water as they do without being near a source, Neo wondered if he would ever have to use this- after all, the boy only had interest in steel type Pokémon at this point. Although he enjoyed learning about all types of Pokémon, Neo found this particular lesson tedious. It took his grandfather's reminding that every great Pokémon trainer needs to know how all Pokémon work rather than just their own to keep the boy pushing on. "In that case, grandpop, could you teach me how I could make a water Pokémon strong like your's!?" Jupiter patted his grandson on the head with a laugh. "Perhaps one day you will raise one as great as my companion Mizu!" --- And that was it; Neo remembered how water Pokémon worked with a simple childhood memory. The trainer wasn't exactly sure his Squirtle would be able to work in sync with what he was saying, but for now this was the only way he had to further describe what he wanted Mizu-Chan to do. "All water types have an inner water ability, Mizu, you just have to summon yours! Focus on the ocean, or the river I found you in, or even the rain pouring out of the sky- take that energy and use it as your own, build up water within your body Mizu!" The squirtle was lost at first, but when Neo went into detail about the different types of water Mizu really had an idea of how to pull off gathering his inner energy. Or at least an idea of how to try and pull of gathering his inner energy. "After you've summoned the power of lakes and puddles and rain and water droplets everywhere, try and center it in your tail, and Strike into the enemy with it!" Mizu was confident in himself with the new instructions from his trainer, which made a bit more sense than the previous set. |

Mizu rolled his eyes. "All water types have an inner water ability"... well duh! The little turtle knew that he could make water inside his body, but sometimes it just wasn't as easy as humans made it sound... I'd like to see you try to shoot water from your tail area, human... go on! Eventually though, the Squirtle came around. Sometimes you just need to think outside the box... or the body, as the case may be, and your idea to have Mizu focus on sources of water that he was already familiar with is something that the Squirtle hadn't ever thought of before. This just proves how beneficial the whole Trainer/Pokémon relationship can be. Anyway, why don't we actually get down to it? For starters, this Burmy wasn't just going to sit around while you tried to take him out. He'd decided to actually attack you, and while he wasn't particularly agile, he was hopping his way over towards Mizu. Meanwhile, Mizu was thinking of streams and rivers and lakes and other such things, trying to get the water to flow through his body as you had described. Eventually he felt he was ready to give this aqua tail thing another try, but it might have been a little too late, for it was at that moment that the Burmy decided to actually intervene. The dopey looking bug Pokémon threw his entire weight at your Squirtle in a sort-of makeshift tackle attack. It wasn't a very well practiced technique, so Mizu wasn't hurt too badly and in that you were lucky, but it did mean that the bug was actually capable of an attack, which could make things a little more difficult. Mizu didn't seem to mind though, as he spun himself around and slammed his tail into the Burmy. It didn't seem like there was much 'Aqua' to this technique at first, but when the tail actually made contact with the bug Pokémon it was clear that the Squirtle's fluffy tail had become thoroughly soaked with water. Well... that wasn't exactly how Aqua Tail was supposed to work, but I guess it's a start. Your Pokemon Level 9 40/43 78%[Aqua Tail: 30% learned] Wild Pokemon :burmy Level 9 32/43 91%

Oh, it's a move tutoring post! Neo's eyes twitched at the thought of his little Mizu being attacked by such a horrible, fowl, disgusting creature. "Bugs...I hate these horrific monsters." His thoughts were something that was would keep him driving on for reason to smash the burmy. "Terafific, Miz!" Neo's enthusiasm was literally through the roof at this point. That was just what he needed, after all. All the elements were in play: the target to destroy, a powerful and youthful Pokémon who wants no more than to prove himself, and a hyped up trainer who's ready to give it his all. Not to mention the weather seemed about perfect for such a day. With a sense of accomplishment, Mizu swung his tail right back behind him, throwing his body in a three-sixty back to his start point. Now that he it standing right in front of his trainer, it's time to fight back with his all. Although getting hit by the Burmy didn't exactly cause much pain to Squirtle, it did give him the feeling that this was actually a battle, and actually a reason to drive on in the fight, but his main focus was still to execute this wonderful Aqua Tail move Neo had in mind. The moment he was ready to resume, Mizu was already thinking in his head that it was time to get this thing down, and Neo was nothing less than one-hundred percent behind him. "Mizu, you ready sir?" Neo's question wasn't exactly necessary, because he could tell by the stance his Pokémon had and the raw zeal about him that said he defiantly wanted to continue. "Squirtle!" Neo's lips drew to a smile the moment heard the reply from his partner, and immediately got down to the planning out Aqua Tail more thoroughly. An assortment of different techniques ran through the young trainer's brain. What he got the most inspiration, though, was from seeing Mizu use his last attack, which promoted his next train of speech. "Whatever it is you're doing, it's working better than I've seen before, and I'm loving it. Next things next is making a more bit of water thrust come out your tail--Now, I know it's hard to do, buddy, but we've got this in the bag once you master that!" Although he had a perplexed look on his face, Mizu pondered upon thoughts of his own which would work with his trainer's to produce his attack. Back in Tohea, where Mizu was born, the rough-and-tough Wartortles he lived with were rule. He learned from them, and aspired to be one with every fiber in his being. Although he was a bit smaller and came from an in-pure blood linage (his father was a Milotic, his mother a Wartortle) the little Squirtle still dreamed of being just like those who raised him. When he first encountered Neo, though, he had a sense of something else. Other members of his family had been captured by trainers, but those were deemed weak by the others in the group. Mizu, however, felt that he wouldn't be 'weak' by letting a trainer take him under their wing, and knew somewhere deep inside that Neo could possibly be the one that would make him a powerful Wartortle, or even beyond that- a master of water: Blastoise. With this memory coming back to him, Mizu caught a bit of a flashback of his older brother, one of the elite Wartortle, who had mastered Aqua Tail all on his own. This memory served him well, seeing as it provided what was perhaps the key to mastering the move for himself. The tiny turtle Pokémon locked eyes with his trainer, and saw nothing more but the Wartortle he was raised by splashing out a waterfall of h2o from his shell, coating his tail in absolute perfection. Hopefully, this was it. Mizu attempted to build up all the water pressure he could in that little shell, and hopefully would be able to rage into the enemy with those memories of a different time in his life. Neo's eyes met his partner's, which were locked into his. Now, Neo doesn't have the ability to read his POKéMONs' minds, but he did know that Mizu most likely had his own idea brewing here. Sure Neo would have liked to know what Mizu had in plan, he would just have to watch and find out. "I have faith in you, Mizu-Chan. Don't overexert yourself." With his trainer's words, the Squirtle closed its eyes, seeing nothing but a waterfall behind the closed eyelids. "Squirt." |

With inspiration being drawn from two of the most important influences in Mizu's life, he tried again. It sounded pretty easy... squirt a bunch of water out where your tail should be... what could be so hard about that? Mizu began to run directly at the Burmy (who has since been thrown across the battlefield by the sheer impact of the Squirtle's dripping wet tail) once again, and the Burmy in question began to hop it's way back towards the Squirtle, clearly looking for revenge after that last attack. Thoughts of Wartortles and waterways rushed through the Squirtles head while the only things that rushed through the insect-Pokémon's head were thoughts of self-preservation. It was a dog-eat-dog world. In the split seconds before the two collided, Mizu pulled off another one of those cool little spin-around-in-a-little-circle moves and slammed his tail into the Burmy once more, and at the same time releasing all of the pent up water energy that he had been focusing on up until this point. In a revelation that surprised both he and the bug-type, a huge stream of water came gushing out from the pores in his tail. Ov course, with the way that the Squirtle struck the Burmy, the water never actually went anywhere near it, to speak of, so all Mizu had achieved was to slap the bug one more time and squirt some water over yonder, but it was still an improvement on his last attempt, right? So what was left? You apparantly didn't know this already, but I'm sure that if you looked it up in your Pokétech it would be able to tell you: Aqua Tail was a move that utilizes the release and control of the water from a Squirtle's tail, and from there attacks the opponent with a vortex of water. For the moment, I'm sure it's a good idea to continue attacking the way that you have been, but you'll never fully learn aqua tail unless you figure out exactly how it's supposed to look. Oh, it's a move tutoring post! From the last use of the move, Mizu seemed to be in pretty good learning standards. His ability to use the move Aqua Tail was starting to show, but it needed a little more too it. The little Squirtle scratched his head, trying to remember how his older brother did it. "There has to be some sort of technique I'm not including- but what?" Mizu was focused on looking into the past; for him, the answer was there. Neo, on the other hand, had been using his PokeTech to find out the solution online. He was browsing different sites that had information on this move, and hopefully one would have a demonstration video or something. His search brought out only a picture, but it was something that would probably aid his Pokemon in learning the move anyways. "Mizu, come here, look at this!" Neo called his pokemon over as he loaded the image of a Feraligatr executing the Aqua Tail attack. He was confident that by observing this picture both would get a better idea how to use this move. The Squirtle skipped over, not taking much care to the enemy it was fighting. After all, Burmy could do little more than waddle about and occasionally tackle into Mizu-Chan, which hardly even did damage. The Squirtle had made his way over to his trainer, and was wrapped around his arm trying to view the image. What he saw was a massive blue seamonster, like something he had never seen before using the move Neo was determined to teach his partner to execute. Neo read the description on the move aloud to Mizu. "Most species of pokemon who have a solid tail launch out inner water from the appendage, and then spin it in a very fast circular-like pattern to create a miniature whirlpool of water." Mizu nodded after his trainer had explained the move, and visualized himself executing the attack. "Squirt." ![]() Neo clicked the "next" option on his PokeTech, bringing up another page that had further information on the move. "Generally Pokemon native to the Shinnoh Region are more developed on using this technique, but a wide array of species to have the ability to learn Aqua Tail. Wartortle, for example, learns the move once it reaches a high enough power level." Mizu's attention was focused on the name Wartortle. He had already had a high level of inspiration from his older brother, but now that there was an image to complete his memory Mizu would hopefully be able to execute this attack once and for all. "The teaching stage is up, Mizu. I'm confident you know the basics of this move, now we just have to learn the posture and perfect it as fast as we can." The Squirtle who was being motivated nodded, and even had that image of Wartortle fresh in his mind. The ability to use Aqua Tail had to be mastered by Mizu, he just had to be able to do it like his older brother had. ![]() "Continue like you were before, launch that water right out of your shell, but this time try and control it a bit more! I want you to try and make it a Whirlpool, but if not feel free to do like the Wartortle picture does, shooting the move out in different tendrils!" Mizu nodded at his trainer. Perhaps it wasn't just shooting water out of his tail. No, both trainer and Pokemon were sure it wasn't that by now. Mizu knew how to execute this move, and knows that he has to be able to control the water before he can master the move completely. |

Time for the next round of battle. Mizu ignored the Burmy once more, choosing to focus on learning the new attack. Now he had a clear idea what the attack should look like and how it ought to work. He was determined to get it right, and so he dug deep within himself for the water energy that was there. Focusing it out of his shell…no, it was supposed to come out of his tail instead. That was what he had to strive for. Controlling water while working to pour it out was no easy task, but at least Mizu had a good start on pouring out the water from his tail. Now he just needed to direct it. Burmy wasn’t interested in waiting around for its opponent to attack; it began once more to make its way over to Squirtle, readying its attack. As it closed in, a sheen of water collected on Mizu’s tail. When Burmy leaped into the air to attack, Mizu’s tail was thoroughly soaked through, and by the time Burmy hit him Mizu’s tail was squirting out water. It wasn’t a lot, but still, it was the best attempt yet. A few seconds later, a couple good streams of water were being shot out from Mizu’s tail and he whipped around, slamming his tail in Burmy’s face. This time a bit of the water managed to hit Burmy, but the rest just gushed aimlessly away. Burmy sure wasn’t happy about that! Its reply was to hit Squirtle a second time. This strike did a bit more damage since it was right in Squirtle’s face and he was busy focusing on using Aqua Tail…which he didn’t quite have a grip on yet. He was getting very close though! After its second strike Burmy backed away, not caring to be hit by that soggy tail again. If nothing else, the water added weight to that otherwise light, fluffy tail and let it hit all the harder, a fact which annoyed Burmy to no end. There wasn’t much it could do though, other than win the battle quickly. Your Pokémon Level 9 34/43 60%~Aqua Tail 80% learned~ Opponent Pokémon :burmy Level 9 20/43 80% |

So it seemed Mizu wasn't one hundred percent in learning this move Neo's been painstakingly trying to teach him. Props to the little guy, though, he's come so far in such a short time. Not to mention this move is about twenty-eightish levels out of his range? Yeah, eighty percent in a matter of minutes is something to be proud of. Neo's thick head didn't realize this, though, and he continued to pressure on his Pokemon to perfection. "Mizu-Chan! What are you thinking? I've been giving you perfect instructions on how to do this! You should have mastered the art of Aqua Tail by now, I'm disappointed." Neo shook his head to emphasis his disappointment, but Mizu began to whimper. Neo opened his eyes that he had shut to also emphasis his disappointment and grabbed his little Squirtle up into a hug. "Oh, Mizzy! I surely did not mean that! You know I'm only kidding!" The Squirtle let out a snicker as his trainer held him. Me too. Neo was hug-choking or "glomping" his Squirtle, hoping it could ever forgive him. Mizu was liking the attention, but after a few seconds or so he opened his eyes, remembering that he was right in the middle of a Pokemon battle with a wild...Burmy. The trainer's eyes rolled as he slipped his partner back to the ground. "Resume operation tear scum of Earth to shreds, Mizu!" The Squirtle let out a little giggle, looking the gross bug in the eyes. Seriously, this thing was using leaves to cover up its indecency. Leaves? Come on, he could have been a little more creative than that. Fashion no-no aside, this little Burmy was starting to get persistent and Neo did not approve. Mizu didn't appreciate the increased amount of tackles, either. "We've stalled enough, Miz. It's time to seriously bat this thing around." The Squirtle nodded to his trainer's words. He thought he would never get out of that training rut. "Squirtle!" Neo needed no sort of absurd device like a Pokemon-to-English translator to tell what his Squirtle was trying to tell him, the message of "I'm more than ready to beat the life out of this thing" was clearly evident by the way Mizu looked at the bug. With a chuckle, the blond haired trainer formulated what would hopefully be the last chain of commands in this battle. "Focus your attack power, Mizu-Chan, you're going to need to hit it as hard as you can. Sorry I'm making you touch it, hun..." Neo figured an apology was appropriate, after all he wouldn't even want to get within ten foot of that horrid thing let alone have to make physical contact with it. Mizu-Chan focused on getting stronger, though, and the thought of having to come in contact with a bug was something he could handle. Heck, if needed he'd be willing to collide with a hundred bugs to reach his goal. The dream of being a powerful Wartortle was just something he wasn't going to let anything get in the way of. Beginning his command, Mizu himself predicted what else was going to come out of this battle. More than likely his trainer would have him use the only physical attack move he has, Tackle, in order to damage the enemy. With this in mind, Mizu began to look for a weak point in the bug. He eyed it up from every angle he could see from the position he was in, making sure to spot out any lack of defense the bug could have. Neo observed with, which brought tears of proudness to his eyes. "Oh -sniffle- Mizu! Look at you -sniffle-, sizing up the enemy like any smart person would a bully! I'm such a proud daddy -sniffle.-" Neo quickly grabbed his Squirtle, hugging it tightly in his arms. The Pokemon pushed his trainer's face away, which had no effect. "Squirt!" Instead of trying to squirm his way out, Mizu sprayed his trainer in the face with some foam. "Uncalled for." Mizu dropped out of his trainer's arms with a giggle. Likewise, he thought to himself. Neo shrugged, "I guess I kinda had it coming. Alright, back to the battle." Mizu nodded, and focused right back on the enemy at hand. Now, Burmy could have possibly wobbled its way over to Neo and his Squirtle, but this was unlikely because Burmy Fails At Life. Especially this one, not executing its natural defense to stop Mizu from beating the crap out of it like he was? Pathetic. Pa-the-tic. "You're going to have to brace for protect, seeing as it will most likely use Protect to evade our attack...which I haven't chosen yet...But brace for Protect anyways." He took in his trainer's suggestion and rolled to the side so he could get a better view of Burmy, and hopefully be out of its eye sight too. It's like Mizu-Chan was playing Secret Squirtle, being all stealthy and such around the battle field in order to observe his opponent even more. He wanted to have a good understanding of where the weak points where, which was a natural sign of a good strategist. ![]() This was the sight that Mizu had. He could see from this angle that those tiny little twig lets of a Burmy were weak, and vulnerable. Taking out those legs were vital- beating a Pokemon was made much easier once their weak point was exploited, and the twig legs being a Burmy's weak point would probably make it much easier on Mizu if he could Tackle them right out from underneath the bug. Although he deiced they would be his target, he was yet to get official orders from his trainer to preform this attack. |

![]() Both Neo and Mizu were into the battle, but Mizu seemed to be a lot more focused on victory than his trainer. The little Squirtle was determined to make himself known by the enemy and to be a source of fear to the opponent. Instead of focusing right off the bat he decided to glare at the opponent. In fact, Mizu ruled out the use of focus all together. In reality it wouldn't make that much of a difference, Mizu's already identified a weak spot in the enemy's defense. Now, don't read him wrong, Mizu wasn't at all trying to disrespect his trainer's choices of moves in this battle, but after forcing him to go through a training binge like that Mizu figured he'd has some sort of right to test his abilities on his own call. Besides, Neo didn't even seem to care in the least bit that his Squirtle was being a bit independent. To be honest, it seemed that Neo was to disgusted by the bug type to even bother...He really needs to get over that. It wasn't even clear why Neo disliked bug types so much, anyways. Well, they were nasty creatures and all that hardly deserved to share such a magnificent place like Earth with its other inhabitants that are no where near the level of fail a bug type is, but there had to be something else. Something like being swarmed by the creatures when he was young would be chilce, and Neo tries to avoid that at any cost. Besides, he's to egotistical of himself to let his past override his current mindset. Oh, right, the reason he dislikes bug types so much; Back in New Jypsum lived a kid across the street from Neo. The two were the best of friends, and adventured together all the time. One day one of those adventures led them into the forest right outside of town, which was actually forbidden for either of them to enter as per their parents rules. Neo, being a rule breaker from birth, pushed his friend right into the area with him. Within a matter of minutes of wander around the two became lost in a place they shouldn't have been in the first place. Out of a rattling bush came a Weedle, which seemed angry at the sight of the two humans. Needless to say Neo was scared senseless and stuck out his favorite book to defend himself from a Stringshot that the Weedle had shot out. The bug pulled back the book, which gave Neo and his companion enough time to run out of the forest. And that was it. Neo's hatred of bug types stemmed out from the loss of a book. This is proof that Neo is very temperamental, and seems to hold mindless grudges for really no reason other than petty things. After all, Neo really didn't have a serious reason to dislike the bugs like he did, but that didn't matter to him. Even if this Burmy would be a good catch there's probably no chance of that happening. Neo quickly typed something into his PokeTech which changed this decision, however. "Hm, I could fetch a fair dollar for this thing. Alright, it's been decided." Mizu, who has yet to execute a battle move, looked toward his trainer with the question "what?" on his face. Neo nodded, and explained to his little Squirtle that a Burmy could fetch him a fair amount of cash on the market even if it was a nasty little bug. Mizu rolled his eyes, not even putting out the effort to bother with his trainer's shenanigans any more. "Be that way," Neo said. The trainer was probably over thinking everything. Maybe there would be another Pokemon down the road he would want to catch and wasting a Pokeball on this thing probably wasn't worth it. "Wait. We're still in battle, aren't we?" Neo's eyes rolled, and he turned to his trainer with "well?" written on his face. "Righto. Well, instead of focusing your energy how about you spot out a weak point and go in for the attack on that?" He didn't bother giving the "I already did that" form of his Pokespeech, and instead Mizu just nodded and pretended to spot something out again. "After you've done that, try and get the best angle you can and use Tackle! But like I said, be weary of Protect. If it comes down to the opponent using Protect, try and stop yourself and wait until the Protect goes down until you can actually attack!" Neo liked to give very detailed commands as for what he wanted his Pokemon to do. After all, if he had just shouted out "Tackle attack!" Who knows what the results would be. It's much easier to save himself the frustration and give out well-detailed orders and backup plans from the start than it is to deal it disappointments. Standing low to the ground on his hind legs, but using his arms for some extra support, Mizu readied to dive right for those little twig feet. He had his target picked out, and even had a strategy that was seemingly fool-proof. The little turtle had to consider the options, though. There was always the chance of Burmy throwing up a Protect, but in that case Mizu could always slip either left or right with his momentum from Tackle and just wait for the Protect to wear off to try and attack again. If it didn't go off, though, there wasn't much more that could happen. Yes, Burmy could possible hop into the air, but surely he didn't have enough timing to do that, and even if he did Mizu could see it coming a mile away. How to get around it? Simple, Mizu would thrust himself upward with the momentum of tackle and attack Burmy from the bottom. Now, Burmy always could be smart and try and take Mizu head to head, which probably would end in an elongated battle with both sides taking damage, but Mizu could always avoid that if he saw it coming at the right time by sidestepping and watching the pathetic bug splatter on the ground. The final thing that could possibly happen (or I could come up with at least..) would be quite...interesting. Maybe a Pokemon or two would come to the aid of Burmy? Yeah, that's it, more opponents for Mizu to battle with! That would be awesome, but it would probably end up with Neo sending out more Pokemon, which means a post for each of their introductions along with a post for each of their commands and...oh boy, that would be a postload of posts. Oh well, whatever happens, happens. And with that, Mizu took one last hard swallow before lunging for his attack.
