Ryua's journey

( this is a joint journey of Ryua and Doragon, just so everyone knows )
As you stepped onto the streets of Nogou Village, you could feel a fresh breeze lightly wrap around your ankles and cool you. Nogou Village is one of the region's principle cities because of its economic purpose in Alternia. The village of Nogou was the top producer of food for the region. So basically you made a good choice in selecting your city; lets just try not to get you into any trouble while your here.

It was a wonderous day to start a Journey. The sky was clear and not a thing could go wrong. It was although the world was at peace and nothing wrong could ever happen. Otherwise a perfect time to start a Journey.

Anyway, there are many things that you can do here. Go to the park, look for a job, you could even look for pokemon that inhabit urban areas. Though, some pokemon like Grimer aren't always nice to have around. However, there are plenty of other things to do as well including finding another pokemon trainer and battling him or her for glory, honor, and the right to rub it in their face if your opponent loses. Remember though, battling is just as much physical as it it mental. Fair warning if you choose the path of the warmongerer. In fact look over there I see a Charmander (doragon ) coming towards you. It looked ready for a fight and was probably coming towards you because of that reason. Wanna take this thing on?

"Ooops!" Ryua laughed, quickly smothering the smouldering corner of the poster, extinguishing the minor fire. "I doubt they'd be happy if we burnt up the Wanted sign," she said, grinning. "Well, in that case, let's go see what we can find!" With Doragon, Chi, and the ever patient Boba at her side, she was quite confident they'd be able to track down whoever it was. Not to mention the two eggs she'd been packing around for a while. They were both carefully wrapped in extra clothing in her backpack, and she checked them regularily for any changes.

And Doragon seemed quite willing to go seeking revenge. Ryua personally was curious. Okay, she was always curious, but right now she was particularily curious about this strange criminal and what he was after. And how on earth he could stand smelling that Grimer constantly. Well, they weren't likely to find anything out still in the Pokemon Centre... or maybe they were. "Hey, do you know anything about this guy?" Ryua asked whoever was present. The Nurse, other trainers... anyone with information. If nobody had anything to offer, then off they'd go!

You walked out of the center, ready to track and hunt down this fiend who had humiliated the both of you. It hadn't been that long ago since you'd seen him or her so they couldn't have travelled very far. You remembered them going in a westerly direction, and so that is the direction you proceeded to also.

You had to navigate your way through the many buildings and people that needed to get to work. Even for a very natural and low tech city, it was extremely large and impossibly hard to get through. You had walked for about 5 minutes and found nothing of the person or even something that hinted to their whereabouts.

Then, when all hope seemed lost, a crash could be heard. Instinctively you both run towards the source and found yourselves standing outside the Poke mart of Nogou, they obviously liked to stay within the city then. That was however if it was them, or another everyday crook trying to rob a store.

Fortunately, or unfortunately for you both, it was the person you were tracking down as they ran from the store with a bag under their arm, the cape flowing neatly behind them. You both ran after them, you still couldn't tell what gender the person was. They finally stopped in an alley, where it was obvious not many people decided to venture down.

A smile crept across the person's face, their eyes covered with a black hat, the top pulled down slightly. "You seem to be giving me a bit of trouble," came the feminine voice. It was almost mocking but at least you could tell their gender and your great ref doesn't have to keep reffering to her as 'they'.

She clutched at her left shoulder and with a quick spin and sweep of the floor, the cloak and cape were gone, instead you could now see her fully. She had shoulder length brown hair with blue eyes. Her face was pale and her lips were rouged with lipstick. She had long fingernails that were the same colour as her lips.

She wore a top that stopped just above her belly button and she wore white shorts, a belt around it with two Pokeballs attached and was wearing sandals. You had no idea how she had run in those but it was obvious that if she walked past you in the street, you would not think of her as a robber or even someone who was on the wrong side of the law.

"You hurt my Grimer earlier, now you're gonna pay!" She yelled, a fire burning in her eyes. "She took the two Pokeballs from her belt and tossed them into the air. The Pokemon that appeared from the orbs didn't surprise you as you knew what to expect. So it was now a double battle, you'd need to up your game and maybe try to phone the police aswell, now what was that number?

Hey, she was kinda cute. Why were the bad guys always so cute? Meh, she was a thief regardless of her looks. "Your Grimer wasn't exactly sweet and gentle to Doragon either," Ryua called. She looked down at the Charmander and nodded. "Let's take her out. Doragon, you and Boba can take care of her, right? That Magnemite might cause us some problems, but it's a steel type, so you should be able to knock it's HP down pretty quick."

She brought Boba out of his Pokeball, and the faithful Pinsir clacked his pincers together eagerly. "Boba, I want you to use Focus Energy, then Vicegrip that Grimer." She had to hope Doragon could handle the Magnemite, since Boba's attacks would barely scratch it's hard metal. The Pinsir chittered eagerly, and started to concentrate, preparing himself for battle. Once he finished meditating, he'd hopefully be able to deal a good, painful blow to that Grimer.

In the meantime, Ryua pulled out her Poketech, dialling in the number that had been written on the poster. Just in case her friends couldn't manage the battle, or even if they could, the police still had to be told about what was going on.

Doragon clicked his jaws angrily at not being able to take on the grimer again but he knew that Ryua was right and he would have a much better time against the magnemite than Pinsir would it was not a matter of brute strength it was a matter of using the right moves at the right time. Doragon knew only one good fire attack but rather then leave it to chance that the magnemite would float away he would use a diversionary tactic. Doragon pretended to become infuriated and stomp the ground charging at the magnemite as if to deliver a scratch onto its cold gleaming orb it called a body. Neither the trainer nor the magnemite would try and do anything to stop the small scratch as since magnemite was a steel type and scratch was a normal type move it would do little to no damage. That however was not what Doragon had in mind.

As he neared the magnemite he increased his speed he was 4 feet...3...2... he was within reach. Just before he normally would have let loose a pathetic scratch he inhaled deeply giving the magnemite and trainer less then a second to react before delivering a fatal looking Flamethrower that he hoped would easily engulf the small magnemite before it could move out of the way. Doragon hoped his plan would work as the red flames poured from his maw he hoped the magnemite would have little time to react and he hoped the trainer would assume he was a hot tempered Charmander like oh so many others.

The girl laughed as you sent out another feeble Pokemon to try and defeat her Pokemon, although if I remember correctly it was you who beat her last time? Anyway you had ordered Bobba to use Focus Energy and then Vicegrip, but with all this you had forgotten to give Doragon any instructions! Fortunately, Doragon was a Charmander that could think on his feet and began using his own ruse against magnemite.

Bobba began relaxing and entered a state of calm. It was almost like he was meditating, and then you saw the Pinsir cringe and tense up and then rapidly ran forward to the Grimer, his pincers clicking menacingly. However the trainer wasn't about to let her Pokemon going down willy nilly, oh no. She was going to put up a bit of a fight.

"Grimer use Poison Gas!" she called to her Grimer, her voice almost like the tune of an instrument. Her Grimer nodded obediantly and from his slimy body, radiated a violet gas that enveloped Pinsir as he approached. You couldn't see very clearly through the poisonous mist and so it was a mystery what had happened when Pinsir returned from it, it was clear however that he was not poisoned.

Now onto Doragon, you had run forward with quite a clever plan actually and you were sure it would work. But what gave you the idea that the trainer would do nothing for her magnemite to defend itself? Well unfortunately for you, she decided to make her magnemite use some evasive action, but it wasn't really suitable for what you needed to do.

"Magnemite, hover backwards and make Charmander's attack miss!" She called urgently, "Then use Metal Sound and then Thundershock!" Magnemite blinked which you took to be a sign of it's understanding. It moved back as you pretended to use Scratch, and as the metal Pokemon was about to use Metal Sound, you unleashed a flurry of fire at the mechanic Pokemon leaving it slightly singed.

The Metal Sound was dismissed by the Magnemite but that didn't stop it using a thundershock which jolted your every nerve. Fortunately you wern't paralysed but the damage had done quite a number to your body. So at the end of that round it seemed that you had done quite well, but playtime wasn't quite over yet.

"Nicely done, both of you," Ryua said, nodding. "Boba, I want you to give that Grimer a couple more solid Vice Grips. See if you can inflict a lot of damage before it can strike back." Luckily, Boba didn't seem to be poisoned yet, and although Doragon looked slightly shaken by the Thundershock, was still going strong.

And on that vein, "Doragon, keep it up. Don't let that Magnemite push you around. It's weak against your fire type moves." She wanted to give him guidance, but without ordering him around, since he obviously knew best how to fight with his own skills. Especially that random awesome Flamethrower he pulled out of nowhere.

So, while her Pokemon were so occupied, Ryua called the local police force. "Hi? Yes, I'm in a battle with that person on all the wanted posters. I think my Pokemon can take hers, but... you know, a little backup never hurt anyone."

(Sorry I've been so inactive, Doragon. I'll do my best to get on more regularily again, honest.)

(No problem Ryua I know what its like to be busy)

Doragon listened to what Ryua had said and was quite proud of himself for earning the privilege to not have to be pushed around by the trainer that held his pokeball like most of the pokemon he had seen. Doragon grinned as he thought about the prospect of befriending a human rather than sneaking around them but quickly brought his mind back to the battle before it wandered to far.

The electric shock had made him tingly for a very small amount of time but he managed to shake off most of the shock before it really got to him paralyzing him. He was still ready to go as that flamethrower had not drained him enough to cause any lasting hinderances in his combat abilities.

Doragon would let loose a rather intimidating Growl directed towards the magnemite before tilting his head back ever so slightly and gathering the energy for another blast of the flamethrower. This time however Doragon was at a bit of a range from the Magnemite which would, not only, give the magnemite more time to dodge but also give the flamethrower more time to spread out covering a larger area and building in force hopefully to cause more damage.

The fire escaped breifly between his clenched jaws scorching the ground to either side of him before he opened his mouth and allowed the torrent of angry screaming flame to rush forward hopefully to engulf the helpless magnemite and end this fight quickly so he could have a hand at that Grimer before it was to late.

[[Shockwave left notes on your journey for staff so I'll take over for him temporarily.]]

So the battle was continuing between the two of you; and this female theif. Hm, what an interesting concept brought upon you two by this thief, as you could see she'd taken some pretty nasty damage the previous turn, but the look on her face made her seem as though she had been expecting it.

"Magnemite, Grimer," He voice came out without emotion as she smirked; planning out your ultimate defeeat. "Let's get this things done quickly, we have places to be." She said, looking down to her poketech (black, of course) and noticing the time. "Magnemite, use Signal Beam on Pinsir, and then turn over towards Charmander and use another Thunder Shock. Avoid its fire-type attacks, or this battle will draw out longer than it has to." She explained before turning to her Grimer. "You, use Poison Gas to fill up the battle space, then quickly use Shadow Ball on Pinsir."

With a nod from either pokemon, the battle began once more. In a flash all four pokemon were on their way into battle, Doragon was using his Growl Attack in order to weaken the defenses of Magnemite and Grimer, while Magnemite itself was using Signal Beam to screw with Pinsir's mind. In the end, the two attacks cancelled one another out and neither attack's effect took place on any of the pokemon on the field. However, Grimer's attack, Poison Gas, was rapidly filling the space with a disgustingly foul odor which had every pokemon within its reach coughing within seconds; well, every pokemon that was effected by it anyways.

For a moment you'd thought it was all over, Didn't you Ryua? Well, you were wrong, because on the opposite side of the field you could see Grimer gathering up energy within his hands, a dark energy that would become a powerful Shadow Ball if it wasn't interupted soon. Luckily for you, Pinsir was up within a few moments, still coughing but working thrugh it as it charged towards Grimer with it's head bowed, ready to use a powerful Vice Grip attack.

"GRIMER!" The pokemon called as it released it's Shadow Ball towards Pinsir, who caught it within its horns and stuggled to keep it in place until eventually, the bug-type was able to send the attack straight back to where it came, taking minimal damage and dealing a nice ammount of damage back onto Grimer. However, this stopped Pinsir's attacking for the turn as it started to cough from the poison which had entered its system.

Now, moving onto Doragon, aye? As the little fire lizard pokemon prepared his flame thrower attack, you were lucky that the flame on your tail was cutting away some of the poison, which was the only reason you hadn't fallen like Pinsir had yet. Within a few moments, you released your fire-stream towards Magnemite who, on the opposite side of the battlefield, was releasing its own Thundershock attack towards you at full-strength. And while the two attacks did not meet, I assure you that both pokemon felt the force of both attacks once they were blown back OUT of the poisonous gas cloud and to the sides of their trainers, heavily weakened not only by the others attack; but by the energy needed to perform such powerful atttacks.

Ryua coughed as the poisonous gas started to belch out around the arena. She pulled her sleeve over her mouth and nose to filter some of it. Luckily, the attack had been directed much more at the Pokemon than at her. And Doragon had seemed to escape the poison, if not the damage. "Doragon... you're almost there, but if you need to swap out, let me know," she said, looking at the Charmander. His richly red coloring was going pale around the snout and eyes, he was looking rather rattled from that last blow. Chi was bouncing excitedly on her head, jittering with the desire to plunge into battle.

She wasn't ready for that quite yet. She wanted to give Doragon and Boba a chance to finish this. "Okay, Boba. I know you aren't feeling so good, but let's get this finished before you get too weak." She had faith in her quiet, oldest companion, and his ability to pull through. "I need you to take out that Grimer before he causes any more damage. That poisoning ability of his is dangerous. Give him a couple of quick Vice Grips, squeeze him right out of the match."

Boba pushed himself up, looking a little wobbly, but still ready to go. He scurried forward, not fearing the poisonous gas now that he was already poisoned. His pincers reached for the Grimer, trying his best to end this thing decisively before he passed right out. And Ryua, watching the battle, just hoped the police would show up soon, this was getting ugly.

Doragon sneezed lightly to clear out his nose he had avoided becoming poisoned and how he was angry taking a deep breath before entering the poison gas field he plunged in he was not breathing so he didnt think it would effect him but it did cloud his vision and hopefully the others vision of him.

He felt his lungs were about to burst and give way when he jumped clear of the poison fog slightly off to the side of magnemite and the trainer whom were close Doragon let loose another flamethrower attack that if the thief trainer wasn't careful might hit her as well. He had held in the breath a lot longer than any other flamethrower attack and felt quiet drainedc by the time he was finished his gasped lightly trying to refill his lungs it didnt take long and he charged at the magnemite with a pitiful but still effective scratch attack he doubted he had the energy to manage another flamethrower attack at the moment.

So … the tables had been turned on you the previous turn, and you were trying to regain whatever lost advantage you had had before. Talking to your Charmander companion, trying to see if he could continue fighting was a wise move. He wasn’t looking too good after the previous turn, having had to fight off a Poison Gas attack and a Thundershock. Doragon seemed to be rather tired after his previous Flamethrower, but all the same, the fiery Pokémon had a fighting spirit that was still burning brightly.

On the other hand, Ryua, you had told Boba to hand the Grimer some attacking doom. With a Pinsir’s natural attacking ability and a couple Vicegrip attacks, you seemed pretty sure that the match was going to end in the nearest turn or two. Your confidence was good and still surviving despite the seemingly gloomy outlook of this match, and that was definitely a good thing. As long as you kept optimism within you … nothing was impossible, right?

“Magnemite, Thundershock!” the lady commanded, authority over her Pokémon clearly showing within her voice. Whipping around to her Grimer who was simply staring at the charging Pinsir, she snarled. “Grimer, smack him with another Shadow Ball!”

It seemed like the usual tactics, all over again. Despite the woman’s Pokémon somewhere near defeat, from the looks within your eyes, and your Pokémon companions – it was all too clear. The bouncing Pichu, Chi, on your shoulder was eager to help, and yet … you had ignored her. You were right to hope for the imminent arrival of the police, but since there was no barking of Growlithe or a strand of blue shirt, it seemed rather impossible at the moment. Just hold on for another turn or two, just hold on …

Well, Doragon, Doragon. You were pretty smart, firing off a Flamethrower before darting behind its cover to use a Scratch. It was a rather intelligent idea, however, since you were rather tired now after so much fire-breathing, there was a question mark as to whether you were going to be able to pull it off …

Inhaling some air like usual, you gather flames within your throat, an ability you had picked up. Exhaling a long stream of fire at the Magnemite, you felt like you were going to topple over from sheer effort, but your legs didn’t give way. Instead, with their bending, you rushed forwards, claws raised. You were going to finish the levitating Pokémon off, once and for all. And then … there was other stuff to do.

Between the Grimer and the Pinsir, was a ball of ghostly energy. It was a vivid purple, bubbling as it swirled. Clamping his mouth shut together tightly, Boba continued to charge forwards despite the looming danger, and snap

Boba snapped his pincers shut tightly over the Grimer, and it was then that the Shadow Ball seemed to make contact with the bug Pokémon. A cloud of smoke enveloped the area surrounding the two combatants; you and the other woman glanced over anxiously, wanting to see who would emerge victorious …

Lying on the ground was the two fighters. Glaring at the Grimer with rage, Boba used his hands to prop himself up as his horns clicked together, signifying his intense rage. Pinsir were easily enraged, and this was precisely the setting-off point for your Boba. Roaring, he thundered at the Grimer.

Meanwhile, Grimer was trying to reshape itself, badly whipped by the close contact attacks. It might or might not be clear, but even he was affected by his own Shadow Ball due to the close range.

Back to you, Doragon: the Flamethrower was true on course, leaving a writhing Magnemite in its wake. However, as electricity crackled within his magnets, you knew for sure that a Thundershock was on its way – you had heard the lady command the technique be used. Snarling like the tiny dragon you were, you scratched across the Magnemite, but at the cost of your health. The ripple of electricity sent through your systems was shocking, for lack of a better word. Shivering where you were, you stumbled backwards …

“They’re coming!”

Who was going? Was it … the police? No way … it was too good to be true …

They're coming? Who's coming? Ryua thought to herself, glancing quickly over her shoulder, then turning back to the battle. "Hang in there, guys," she called. "Boba, that llittle puddle of goo is almost out of it. If you can pull off another solid attack, I think you've got it. Go ahead and give it another Vice Grip. If it's still standing, hit him again, otherwise help Doragon out with his Magnemite problem. Dora, that Magnemite is starting to look pretty crispy. Another attack should take it out of the running, but don't over-exhert yourself. If you need to stop, let me know."

Chi was still vibrating and scolding in Chu-language. Ryua reached up, putting a hand lightly on the little mouse's back. "Chi, you're my backup. In case something goes wrong, you're my trump card, okay?" Hopefully the little mouse would be up to it. Ryua looked back over her shoulder, looking for whoever was coming, and hoping like mad that it was someone NOT affiliated with her opponent.

((Sorry for my absence stuff came up))

Doragon wobbled on his feet from the fatigue that he had butr he knew that if he went down the fight would be lost and that simply wouldn't do if he lost he would feel degraded and horrible sure he had been a wild pokemon before but now he was a trainers pokemon and he refused to lose as a trainers pokemon simply because of the fact that he had never lost and did not plan on starting now.

Doragon knew he was weakened from the repeated flamethrower attacks but that did not matter he was going to finish off this magnemite then help Pinsir with his Grimer problem he had already vowed silenelty to himself that he was going to get another crack at that Grimer after he knocked out his opponent, the magnemite, Charging yet another flamethrower in his maw he let the attack loose and at this range he doubted there would be very much that the pokemon on the receiving end would be able to do.

When the stars stop shining, dreams will shatter before your eyes. Know that you're not alone!

(Sorry, first ref in 5 days, little rusty.)

The trainer swore, things weren’t looking up, and it would be hard to turn this around. That is assuming that this battle can be turned around, of course. She looked at her pokemon, there was only one solution, and she smiled at the thought of it. Oh boy, that could mean bad news for you and your cause. “Alright, magnemite. Just like we practiced. Grimer you should take cover. This is going to get messy.” She smiled wider. Okay, this REALLY didn’t sound good. Hopefully things will turn out for the best.

Magnemite had static forming around him; he floated without any other movement. It seemed to have its eye locked on to Boba. Grimer started to move towards safety, but his speed was nothing compared to Doragon’s start-up time on his flamethrower and got torched and hardened, fainting him in a hard statue-like form. Boba, whose target was already taken care of, looked for a new enemy to crush, went immediately after magnemite. This wasn’t a problem at all, considering that the little steel ball was already charging towards him, and was glowing white. Boba just managed to get a grip on magnemite, but right before he was going to squeeze, the electric pokemon blew with a big boom. Doragon, before the aftershock of the blast could reach, quickly dove behind the hard grimer for cover, saving him the damage.

The girl laughed, smoke filled the room giving everyone a coughing fit. When the smoke cleared, the girl and her two pokemon were gone. Boba was on the ground, fainted, and doragon was unharmed from the blast, but still confused. Well! That could have gone better, but oh well. Mission complete! Unless, maybe something was missing? Well, that wasn’t your problem, you just had to defend the store, and it was done! The clerk behind the counter cheered, and came in for a hug. She thanked you and looked for something behind the counter to reward you with. Finally, after awhile she found a pokeball. "here, it's not empty, but i'm not sure what's inside, either way, you can have it!" She said, with a huge grin. Alright, you did it! But…now what?

Boba got 5.8 :exp ! Gained 1 level with .8 left over!
Doragon got 5.8 :exp !

"Er... thanks," Ryua said, a little unsure of what to do about the hug, but quite cheerful about the Pokeball. And now, social niceties taken care of, she could do what she acutally wanted, which was to go to her Pokemon. "Ah, Boba... I'm proud of you. Take a good rest now," she said, stroking his back slightly before returning him into the Pokeball. Then, she turned to her sort-of Charmander, checking on him. "Hey, Doragon. That was awesome.
