Rainbows and sunshine.
As you stepped onto the streets of Millenia, you could not help but feel a tough of excitment, a whole new world is at your doorstep, hypotheticly speaking. Millenia is one of the region's principle cities because of its economic purpose in Alternia. Millenis Town is located near the ses, of course since your were staring right a tthe ocean you already knew that. Wingull glided here and there followed by the ocassional Pelliper, and Goldeen splashed about in the waves of the spakling water surface. Around the area many houses stood with large windows facing the sea no doubt to catch the majestic view, here and there was a shop selling eith fresh produce or some form of gadget. There was also an icecream vendor with his cart handing some kids a frozen treat in the shape of a staryu with a bublegum ball for the jewel. Millenia seemed like a nice, peaceful town to begin your journey, good choice.

On the beach, which just so happened to be visible from where you were standing, a group of girls in bikinis lay on their stomachs tanning their already taught and taned tokus. Boys mostly in board shorts, some in wetsuits and others in speedos jumped around and splashed each other. There was one boy however, about your age who sat under an umbrella reading a guidebook, there was a Meowth curled up by his side sleeping, he was wearing a blue shirt and a pair of black boardshorts. It was a bit hot in the sun, the water looked enticing and so did the icecreams. But would you sucumb to the heat?

Anyway, there are many things that you can do here. Go to the beach and join in with one of the groups or talk to the reading boy or the girls, look for a job, you could even look for pokemon that inhabit urban areas, of treat yourself ot an ice cream. However, there are plenty of other things to do as well including finding another pokemon trainer and battling him or her for glory, honor, and the right to rub it in their face if your opponent loses. Remember though, battling is just as much physical as it it mental. Fair warning if you choose the path of the warmongerer. In fact look over there I see a rather hungry looking Rattata and its eyeing you.

:rattata :male Lv. 5

So yes, WELCOME TO ALTERNIA.

Poison glanced at you quietly, before shaking her head as if disliking the thought. Well, actually, let’s just say she did, for she thought that the cops would probably recognize Jackal at once. It was hard to tell what girls were thinking, and Poison was no exception to the statement … so yeah, you’ve got something on your hands right now. The girl really wanted you to retrieve those Pokéballs for her, but here you were again, being reluctant and all. I can only say that, well, just relax a little and stop being so tense and you’ll see that things would work out to perfection.

Y’know, letting yourself loose and enjoying the scenery wouldn’t be too bad either. As you looked up, you saw a certain flying Pokémon skim the clouds of the skies, before coming to a halt near you. It was chirping, and it was a Pidgey. Those Pokémon were dirt common in the games, but in the wild … well, it depends entirely, but still, it was in need of help. Ah man, you’ve got quite a lot on your platter right now, don’t you think? On your left you have a girl wanting to retrieve items … and on your right was an exhausted bird.

“Just get the Pokéballs for me, please?” begged the girl, “I promise I’ll be good.” She was sort of like a child now; if one didn’t know better, one would say that she was a victim of multiple personality disorder, or it could just be an imperfect playing of her true personality. Still, it couldn’t hurt to leave Poison alone with the Pidgey while you got those Pokéballs – the purple-haired girl was harmless enough with Pokémon, after all. To be this worried over a Pokéball or two must mean that she’s concerned for the Pokémon species in general, right?

So yeah, just make up your mind and let’s head on since you were a-lookin’ for the elusive Vulpix and Growlithe.

Foxii
You soared through the air, and on the horizon you could see dark clouds swirling around. They didn’t seem like it was going to hit this area, but should the winds change, you were in for a windy and rough ride in the skies. When you did get your energy restored, you’d be flying … unless you were going to fight for a perch on the guy’s shoulders, which have already conveniently been ‘booked’ by his twin Pachirisu. Either way, it didn’t matter just yet, since your wings were feeling like they were about the drop off due to the distance you’d been flying.

At any rate, you weren’t going to be flying for a couple hours unless you got some treatment … which by some stroke of luck, happened to you. Poison, the girl with purple hair, accessories and eyes, bent over and down to pick you up, gently stroking you across the back and according to the flow of your feathers. She had no equipment on hand to replenish your energy, but she had some food and was offering it to you.

I’d say you snap up the food, get some rest and plot your escape if you still wanted to run away after all this.

Maji looked as the Pidgey suddenly appeared before him, he blinked and looked at the bird; it was a rather random occurrence for such a young Pidgey to appear just before them without any reason to be hostile. I mean, generally they didn't even like humans. He then noticed that the Pidgey looked absolutely famished and he began to bend down to pick him up, just then Poison scooped him up and offered the bird some food. He didn't think much of it but calmly reached into his own bag and pulled out some of his own food, holding it in his hand while gently stroking the bird's neck waiting for it to feed.

"Poison, I really don't want to..." Maji said to the girl which he waited for the Pidgey to finish eating. He sighed however and figured that he'd already agreed to more than he'd planned, what would another thing do? Considering this girl obviously had issues, it was best to indulge her... maybe he'd find information on the poisoning of the man yet!... Right? Well, none the less he looked down at the ground where his two Pachirisu were playing happily, he smiled and wondered if it'd be possible to just have one, or both, of them retrieve the pokeballs so that he didn't have to get in trouble with the popo. Otherwise, there was Damien, but he was already tired from earlier.

He continued thinking briefly until he came to a conclusion. "Femme, Kaine, I need you two to do Poison a favor. See, that guy over there has some pokeballs on his belt that she needs back... I want you both to scurry over there using Quick Attack and then hurry back, I'll be watching from over here and if you get into any trouble I'll recall you both immediately." He said aloud and both Pachirisu looked at each other reluctantly. His eyes were soft and they could tell that he meant that there was a reason for this and both simply nodded.

However, before they went off they looked at the Pidgey, and in pokemon speak they said to him. "Hi, I'm Femme Fatal." "And I'm Kaine. What's your name?"

Baird felt as sleepy as he had ever felt within his entire life. As he was picked up, he instantly felt safe. He was even offered food, which he took, quite willingly. He felt a little strength come back to him, but all he needed was some sleep. A yawn could be seen crawl upon his face as he stretched his wings. He heard the voices of the little electric Pokémon and he reached his head around and spoke. "Hi...I'm Baird...do you know these humans? They are actually quite kind...I feel...feel...safe. But I'm very tired. I must rest." he said.

With that, his little eyes began to close. Sounds and vision began to leave his sight as he drifted off into a dream-like state. He wasn't completely asleep, but wasn't completely awake either. He was in that sleepy state that is so close to either extremes. He curled his wings to his sides as he drifted. What would be next in his life? Hopefully just being able to sleep a little bit in a comfortable setting. Well, he thought these woman's hands were comfortable, so he decided that if it was the best place he could sleep, why not sleep there. Hopefully he could stay in her arms without waking. He just needed an hour or two nap.

Both Femme and Kaine nodded at your orders. Whatever it was, your wish was their command – and so, twin Pachirisu darted down the small road they had traversed not too long ago. A few eyes saw their trek down the path, but paid no attention. No one remembered that you were their Trainer and such, weren’t suspicious at all. Yet, as Femme neared the scene of the ‘crime’ first, a policewoman noticed her. Femme was about to slide that cute little paw of hers to the belt on the late Mercury (wait, isn’t that you? Never mind …) when the lady’s eyes fell on her. Alarmed, your female squirrel hastily back-stepped, bumping into Kaine in the process. Both Pokémon fell over, squealing in shock from being ‘exposed’. Oh dear … what now? You could only hope that your Pokémon could handle themselves well enough, seeing as the people (whose interest had reignited now that the police have arrived) would probably remember you from before and would love to see you apprehended, regardless of whether you were innocent or guilty.

Now, back to the situation – the female cop seemed contented enough to let Femme and Kaine watch as they did the necessary forensic steps to identify just how the guy had died and so on. Both of your Pokémon stood where they were, curiously silent as they waited for a chance to snag the Pokéballs. Without a doubt, this was a matter of time – either the authorities snagged those balls first, or your Pokémon did. There were two capturing devices on the belt: one an Ultraball and the other a normal Pokéball. Kaine sensed an opportune moment coming soon when the policewoman’s back was turned to pick up some debris on the man’s body. Hastily, he grabbed the Ultraball, a phone strap dropping in the process. Having no clue on how to remedy that, he gestured for Femme to grab the other Pokéball and make a run for it. Femme did as she was told, grabbing the item and scampering madly after Kaine.

It made quite a sight, really. People did notice, but luckily for you, Poison, Femme and Kaine, no one seemed to have made the connection that the two Pokémon were actually stealing something from the corpse. Perhaps it was because Femme was lagging behind Kaine; due to being a female and all, she couldn’t help but feel a little bad within for taking someone else’s Pokéball without permission – despite the person in question being as dead as a bunch of salted fish. Maybe some reassurance for her was in order, like, calming her down and telling her that Poison had okayed the whole process. That might change things up a little, get your Pokémon to trust you a little more … those kind of stuff. A Pokémon lover like you should understand, right?

Coming back to you, Femme and Kaine panted – one in happiness from getting away without a scratch whatsoever, the other in relief from not being caught. They dropped the Pokéball down at your feet, before plopping down on the ground for some rest and nerve-calming. Premeditated crimes weren’t something to pull off easily, no matter how easy it was, at any rate. Your Pachirisu were no exception as they chattered about the whole execution, with Kaine dropping a cool line or two on his brilliance in the face of the half-danger posed by a team of forensics people and policemen.

Poison quickly grabbed the two Pokéballs, her hand stroking the yellow-and-black surface with a small smile on her face. Baird was already placed on her shoulder and balanced comfortably; provided he didn’t try to roll about or anything, he was pretty much assured to be steady there. Besides, the Pokéballs were just a temporary distraction – Poison still had her mind on Baird, childlike as she might be at times. The red-and-white ball was tossed to the ground, where a beam of light slowly took form into a beautiful little creature. The Pokémon gave a vulpine bark, shaking herself down as her body slowly came into view after materialization. The six tails on her rump spread, her body lowering to the ground gracefully in a stretching motion. It seemed that the little Vulpix over there had been within her Pokéball for quite some time, and seemed to appreciate the fresh air.

The vixen jumped around cutely, trying to catch the fresh mist in the air as one would commonly find after a shower. She gave a few quiet barks, before her eye met with Poison’s – who was now holding Baird again – and came to her side obediently. From the Ultraball on her hip, a Growlithe emerged, stern and serious. The canine Pokémon was clearly not one to be messed with, having his own ideology as well as philosophy on how things were supposed to work – including a warped sense of physics as proven when he tried jumping gracefully like Platina did just now and needless to say, failing. Despite the nasty-looking fall, Iridia didn’t even whimper once, instead steeling himself with newfound resolve to master the jump.

“Mercury~” said Poison, her childlike innocence exuding from every syllable uttered, “Meet Platina and Iridia.”

You slowly dozed off as your eyes shut, a small breeze ruffling your feathers – or was it Poison’s hand? – but anyway, you were slowly lulled to sleep. Through your ears, you could hear some strange noises. Then again, you were with strange people, strangers, as they called them, so it probably didn’t matter. Not at this point, anyway – the woodland Pokémon (yes, from the woodland!) had their own share of problems, and if you wanted to meddle in their affairs, you better rethink your current condition and just go with the flow. Anyway, you were pretty much going to fall into deep sleep when your position was changed from soft and warm hands to a rather cool shoulder.

Better not move, else you’ll roll off, you know. Your body was giving you annoying impulses, telling you, ordering you to take flight before you fell off, yet your wings, no, your entire body was feeling strangely unresponsive. A moment later, you could see soft barking, but as soon as your body returned to the girl’s hands, your body just … shut down, leaving you with nothing but your soul, your memory, and sleep.

The scene changed.

Several Pokémon were approaching you, some with fangs bore, some looking calm and quiet. They each took a side, leaving you sandwiched between them. Was this … a dream? Or was this reality, your soul transported to some unknown dimension, leaving your body vulnerable on the other side? There was only one way to find out – approach any one of the Pokémon, or hope that you woke up soon, either by the humans’ hands or by yourself. This was getting strange, and probably wasn’t going to even consider ceasing to be strange.

Well, people did say that fatigue-induced sleep gave people weird dreams …

Shad – There, with an appearance, it shouldn't be too far off from obtaining ... hmm. XD
Foxii – In case you were wondering, it really is a dream (that's indirectly a sub-plot).

Maji waited for a brief moment before his two Pachirisu returned and gave the pokeballs to Poison. Something didn't feel right about it, but he wouldn't question it. It wasn't until a few moments later that Poison moved the little Pidgey over to her shoulder and he smiled, soon enough however it fell over and nearly landed on the ground before Poison scooped it up in her arms again. "Here, let me make sure it's not hurt." He said, reaching out to take the bird in his hands while Poison released the two pokeball from their balls.

Soon enough out came a Vulpix, Platina, and a Growlithe, Irina. At first he smiled but then realized he's seen them in the wild just a few days before when he'd caught Kaine and Femme. His eyes flickered over to the two rodents and their eyes were already set on him, he grabbed their pokeballs off his belt and recalled them knowing just by their body language that they were uncomfortable with the thought of having to deal with another two fire-dogs just like before. "I see, these belonged to him? Or...?" He inquired, carefully keeping his hand close to the pokeball which belonged to his Phanpy, Lupine, just in case. If it came down to it he'd have to call both Pachirisu out again because they already knew what they could do to win a battle and Lupine wouldn't be able to do it alone, but he hoped it wouldn't amount to that.

So without much thought he waited silently, still holding his arms out for the sleeping Pidgey while watching both the pokemon and Poison with hawk eyes.

What's this? A dream? Well, Baird was ready for anything. He felt as if his soul was outside of his body at this time. The life in which he lived, he could feel it, but at the same time, it felt as if he wasn't really in reality whatsoever. His life was in the hands of a very...clumsy woman to say the least, but he felt as if he were dead, which, in a way, he was dead...dead tired.

Anyway, his dream led him to believe that there were other Pokémon staring at him. The only way to get around that was to talk to them. What would that bring? Well, we'd have to find out, wouldn't we? Baird flapped his little wings and then just said to anyone, or anything willing to respond. This was a weird situation that he was in, wasn't it? He said, "Where am I? What am I doing here?" and with that, he hopped about on the 'ground' that he was on. He was rather scared with what was happening, but he wouldn't find out anything unless he asked. So, that's what he decided to do. Asking was the best possible source for information as of now.

Poison stared into your eyes, here purplish gaze almost hypnotic and her face a strange mixture of playfulness and infatuation. At first it had seemed that this girl was simply acting childishly to coax somewhat of an urge to help her out and protect her to some extent, but now it seemed that she might have been after something else completely. Unfortunately before you had a proper chance to decipher what her eyes were trying to say she'd torn her gaze away from you and looked down towards the ground, allowing a a curtain of amethyst hair to hide her face from your view.

Poison took a couple of steps towards you and happily passed the Pidgey into your open arms. The bird Pokémon appeared to be in perfect health, he was just tired. Anyway, your attention was quickly drawn away from the Pidgey as Poison bent over to scoop Platina up into her arms and then moved over to stand beside you, rubbing her shoulder up against yours in a very 'I-really-like-you' sort of way. Then she spoke again:

"Well, they did sort of belong to him. We shared them, mostly. Aaaanyway, that doesn't matter now. And don't worry..." she said, carefully cradling the Vulpix in one arm while she laced her fingers through yours and drew your hand up away from your pokéball, "They're both complete softies, you don't need to be so nervous all the time!" With that, she leaned up on her tiptoes, gave you a quick kiss on the cheek, and ran ahead down the path towards Nogou, Growlithe at her heel. She only got fifteen or so metres ahead when she turned around to look at you again, a concerned look on her face. "You are coming, aren't you?" As she spoke a sparkle appeared at the corner of her eye and you could hear the quiver in her voice. Was she starting to... cry?

Colours swirled around you in an infinite spiral, the only solid things seemed to be the faces of the Pokémon around you, and even they seemed to be a little bit blurry. You'd decided that the best course of action was to attempt to communicate with one of them, but unfortunately for you dreams don't always obey the dreamer, and this was one of those times. The primary problem was that no matter which way you faced, each and every one of the other Pokemon alwayse seemed to be sitting just at the edge of your consciousness, at the corner of your eye, if you will. You could never manage to actually face any of them, and no matter how far you wandered, they were still right there.

I don't know how long it felt like to you, but I'm guessing something like hours, or maybe even days. Time is an illusion in reality; just imagine what it must be in dreams. In any case, only a few seconds had passed in the land of waking before everything went bright white. Not blindingly so, but there wasn't anything to look at any more. No swirling colours, no blurry faces, nothing. In a way, it was kind of comforting: the whiteness seemed to be cushiony and warm, but it was also a little unnerving to think that you were the only one here. Then, out of nowhere, a face appeared. It seemed somehow familiar, yet at the same time you couldn't quite place it. It was a human face, kind, caring, but also confused and maybe a little anxious. All it seemed to want to do was float there. Anyway, this was your dream, so I guess it's up to you to decide what you want to do about it.

The colors around Baird was many, so many. The swirls came to being, the energy surrounding him was immense. He was completely captivated by the swirling colors of the world around him. He felt as if it had been days in this spiral, though in reality it could have been only mere minutes. The swirls came to a stop, and finally, the world seemed blank. The first time Baird knew anything. He was definitely out of his mind, and he knew something was up.

Finally, a face, out of nowhere, came into Baird's mind. Seemingly familiar. Baird knew this was not reality by now. He knew it was just a dream, but for some reason, he couldn't get himself awake, he couldn't shake the dream world and come back into reality. He would just have to put up with anything and everything that was happening until he came to the realization that he could wake himself up. But of course, that wasn't now. It was almost as if he were in a state of complete comatose. He could feel and understand what was happening around him, yet at the same time, he was unable to control any of it. It was as if his body was a lifeless form while his spirit roamed free.

That's how he felt anyway, his life was in the hands of whoever's face this was. Or that is how he took it anyway. But the face did express a sense of compassion and kindness. Baird felt safe. This floating face was of a human, and he knew that, but for the first time in his life, he wasn't afraid of the human face, he was more enticed and entranced by it than anything. He felt loved, and by a human? This seemed very rare, considering what he always used to hear from his parents back when he was just a baby bird. But, he was comfortable. He just had to wait this dream out and hope for the best when he came to.

Maji did nothing while Poison spoke, for the majority of the time he just tried to pay attention but his mind wandered off once or twice to other thoughts. None the less, he came back to reality when Poison kissed his cheek. He winced slightly and stood there for a moment as she trotted off, and then she turned back and asked if he was coming. He nodded and began to walk, the Pidgey in his arms now.

There wasn't much for him to do, if he wanted to understand what was going on he'd have to play along at least for a little while longer. He grabbed a pokeball off his belt and released his Phanpy. "Lupine, you deserve to stretch your legs." He said as the elephant poked out of its ball and appeared next to Maji, quickly stretching it's muscles while running around and head of Maji. Obviously Lupine needed to be let out of his pokeball more often, and as soon as Maji figured out what was up with this girl he'd make sure Lupine had a nice chunk of land to play around in. "Lupine, you'll be happy to know that after we're done here, we'll be headed to buy a license in order to build ourselves a Daycare, just for us and the rest of your friends. We're all gonna live together and help other trainers get stronger, sound good?" He asked, and the Phanpy nodded happily at his side while they caught up with Poison.

In his arms he noticed the Pidgey asleep and wondered what exactly Pidgey, and generally all pokemon, dreamed about.

Poison hugged Platina closer to her chest as she literally started to skip down the path, with you tagging along in her wake. The Growlithe, Iridia, had already circled you a few times and sniffed at your heels. He seemed kind of curious about you, which was always a good thing, but I don't think that he'd accepted you into his life as the new Mercury like Poison obviously had; maybe in time though. The whole situation felt very fishy, what with having to take the Pokéballs off of the dead guys body and all, but they both seemed to know and trust Poison, so I guess there was no real question as to whether the two had previously known each other. What was a little disconcerting was the fact that Poison seemed almost unphased by Mercury's death, and that she'd taken into her stride that you were taking his place, whatever that place was.

You Phanpy certainly seemed happy to be free from the confines of his pokéball and he was also clearly a little restless, so when Poison's ears pricked up at your mention of the daycare centre, Lupine didn't bother to wait around, but instead decided to go for a wander further down the path on his own.

At your words about your proposed business, Poison turned to you with bright, wide eyes. She'd already leant over to let the Vulpix in her arms bound to the ground, and with her now empty hands she held your shoulders and turned you around to face her, then began a sentence with a gasp. "Oh, you're going to start a daycare business?! That's so great! It would be so much fun to be able to pla--". Poison's sentence was cut short by a startling trumpet from just up ahead on the path. Recognising the voice of your own pokémon you quickly pulled away from Poison and started to run down the path, but Poison didn't seem to mind being blown off, because she wasn't far behind.

It wasn't long before you found what had caused the uproar. Lupine was standing face-to-face with a a rather large bug Pokémon. The Pilby didn't look bothered by the fact that Lupine was clearly a fair bit stronger than himself, and in fact seemed to be spoiling for a battle. Whether the bug was incredibly courageous or simply stupid, you couldn't tell, but I think it was obvious what was about to happen next.

Furthermore, in all the commotion, the Pidgey in your arms had woken up. He still looked dead tired, and who could blame him after only a few minutes of sleep, but he was awake nonetheless... for the moment, at least.

[[ OOC: Foxii, I'm not sure if you wanted to be woken up yet, but I figured that dreams are hard to write and overall pointless. Go back to sleep if you want to, but otherwise feel free to be awake and I'll include you next time. ]]

Baird finally shook himself of the sleep that confined him. The face he saw in the dream...it was before him once again, with the same feeling of love and compassion. He thought that he might have been still in that dream, yet he felt awake, more-so than he did while he was actually dreaming. This was his reality. He was tired, but he wanted to be able to wake up more, he wanted to see if this human was worth trying to keep around. I mean, yes, the two had fed him as soon as he was found there, and they were nice enough to allow him to sleep, but that dream, seriously, was rather scary to him. He hadn't ever dreamed anything like that before. The weirdest dream he had ever had was one of his father, before he left, when he and his mother had been flying together, and then his mother ran into one of those poles that people have in their little villages of sorts. That time, he awoke with a smile, a laugh, or whatever you can imagine a laughing Pidgey like.

Well, now that Pidgey had awoken, he noticed the other Pokémon around him, and he struggled a little bit to be able to see properly. He was now becoming fully awake and he just wanted to watch what these other trainers would do if they were in the midst of a battle. He did have a few minutes of sleep, meaning that he could probably get himself to wake up further. That was the main plan for him now. Then to take a good long rest at a later time, just hopefully he wouldn't dream. Ahh, how he wished he could just sleep without dreams. Dreams seemed pointless to him, they're just a twisted reality that sometimes seems so real, or so far-fetched, that it is actually believable, no matter the content. Even if it were something like he had been dreaming earlier, things like that are still believable to the dreamer himself/herself. But now it was time to watch the battle. He found a position he liked within the confines of the mans arms and waited there, seeing what they would do. He was finally more awake now than he had been.

Maji trailed after his Phanpy once he heard him trumpet off in the distance. Without hesitation he searched for the small pachyderm pokemon and eventually found him confronted by a rather large pill bug looking pokemon. "Woah..." Maji said aloud as he wiggled his arm free from under the Pidgey who then awoke. He didn't give much mind to the bird but scanned the bug pokemon briefly to receive some information about it.

"Pilby, the Pill Bug Pokemon. This pokemon is common in the region of Alternia, but when threatened they roll themselves into balls to defend themselves from predators."

Maji smirked, bugs weren't his favorite pokemon species but this one had potential for a few attacks just by its information. He smiled and looked at Lupine who seemed ready for a battle. "Lupine, you wan--" He started to ask before feeling the bird in his arms, he smiled and stopped talking to Lupine briefly. "Hey, you wanna help in this battle?" He asked, "If you do, jump in any time." With that he turned back to the Lupine and smiled once again.

"Alright Lupine, this bug might have some similar attacks to yours according to the info I got. So let's start things off with an Odor Sleuth so we can keep track of that bugs movement. After that, move into a Defense Curl and just hold that form for a while, if you feel Pilby's scent grow stronger I want you to roll yourself out of the way of its body." Maji explained, his commands were simple this turn and all he had to do was watch the Pilby's movements because if Lupine successfully used Odor Sleuth, he'd be able to find Pilby just by scent while practicing Roll Out. He looked around for Poison, but paid no mind to her immediately as he waited to see what would occur now in this battle.

Looking up to the Pidgey briefly and then back down at the Battlefield, Lupine smiled and spoke to the bird. "Hey there, my name is Lupine. Maji, the guy who's holding you, is my trainer. Are you new to our team? Well, whatever the case, can I count on you for some help if I need it? I'm not the strongest battler, but I am one of the most battle-happy on Maji's team." Lupine spoke aloud before readying himself for the first phase of battle.

With Baird safely tucked away in the crook of Maji's arm after waking from a short but still rejuvenating slumber, he had the perfect spot for a spectator. Furthermore, it was more than obvious that Lupine would totally dominate in this battle, so what possible reason could the Pidgey have to leave the comfortable, warm, out-of-harms-way seat that he currently possessed? Well, since it'll have to be spawned at some point or another, regardless of circumstances, and that fact has already been pointed out, I'm just going to be the compliant-with-wishes sort of ref that everybody simply wished that they always got. I mean, that would make journeys so easy! So hooray! You're getting an easy ref this time round!

Lupine was following Maji's commands to the letter. No sooner than the words had left the boys mouth had the elephant Pokémon raised his trunk up into the air and taken in a big long breath. Soon after a sparkle seemed to hit his eye and a smile reached his lips. It was clear that the Phanpy had identified the Pilby's scent, and now locating it shouldn't be a problem while in a rolled up state, though I imagine that keeping track of one's bearings is a bit of an art. In any case, Lupine wrapped himself up into a tight ball and, as you had instructed, just sat... well... tight.

The Pilby, who clearly just wanted to fit in and had seemed to have forgotten his previous hostile behaviour, did exactly the same thing. Obviously he didn't use Odour Sleuth, but he did roll himself up into a ball as well. Then, he just sat there. Now... I've seen battles like this before, where both Pokemon just sit there upping their defence, and let me tell you, the get really boring really quickly, so next turn, I suggest that you take a little bit of initiative and actually take some action against this bug, because at this rate, we'll be here all day.

Now, It's time to get down to some of the extra stuff that's been going on. Poison, who I almost forgot about entirely, took a very out of character turn and actually shut up for a moment, wandered over to the edge of the path, and plonked herself down next to a tree. She, and both of the fire-types, seemed more than happy to just sit quietly and watch, which is very surprising considering the way you've seen the girl act so far. But don't complain... she might start talking again.

For a few minutes, nothing at all happened, and nobody made a sound. Everybody was engrossed in what was (or wasn't) happening on the battlefield, including (and this is the part of the ref that I pride myself on) a very curious gazelle Pokémon who decided to stick her head out of the bushes to investigate the scene. Her head was then followed by the rest of her body. She walked very slowly, asting cursory glances at absolutely everybody here, wondering whether they'd seen her or not. Of course, almost all of them had, except the two Pokémon who were pretending to be really big marbles. Anyway, the appearance of another Pokémon was both interesting and very convenient, but who's complaining, right? Now get to it!

Maji looked on the field, obviously this round had been much less interesting than he had hoped but it mattered not. However, soon enough his attention was drawn to a gray pokemon peering out from a bush and he smiled. He raised his poketech, got information for the pokemon, and noticed that it didn't seem as though it wanted to battle. So with a conscious-mind about the bird in his arms he began to slowly walk over to it, trying to remain as peaceful and calm as possible so that it wouldn't be frightened away.

However, soon enough his mind shot back to the battle. "Right, Lupine let's get this thing started. I want you to begin to roll around following the Pilby's scent, try to increase your speed as you do this without the use of any other attacks. However, if it becomes difficult, use only ONE focus on your speed and continue. If you come close to Pilby try and just ram your body into it with as much force as you can. In your defensive state that shouldn't be a problem." He said aloud before reaching into his bag with his free hand and grabbing some food for the Gazelle Pokemon standing off a few yards away.

He continued to approach it, holding his hand out steadily. "You hungry?" He offered it the food, careful to keep the Pidgey in his arm still able to see the battle. While this happened however, on the battlefield Lupine hunted for Pilby, still rolled into the marble-shape stated before. Over time he would find it once again and roll, roll like he'd done before... except this time he wouldn't lose the pokemon... hopefully.

The Greatest Thief of All
The battle of wits, strategy and... let's face it, this was a battle between two largely stationary circles. The battle was quickly accelerating to top speed - a meager crawl. In the primitive game of marbles, Lupine was eager to launch himself toward the Pilby. Sniffing and sniffing, the Phanpy was quick to focus his full attention onto the bug as told. Though I must question your trust of a near-blind Pokemon against an unmoving bug, with a natural predator resting all too comfortably in your arms, let's roll with it.

Lupine began his roll, as intended. It was only natural for a Phanpy to roll, after all, and Lupine had quite a lot of fun with it. Speeding up as requested, he quickly accelerated, moving toward the bug at speed. The Pilby, however, was not in any mood to be hurt. At first thought, the bug intended to move, but soon, the natural inclination to stay in the comfortable, circular state overrode anything else. Collision was imminent.

With a wide turn, Lupine artfully missed the pill bug, before immediately turning to flatten the Pilby. Seemingly crushed under the force of the much larger pokemon, Pilby fell flat, looking much like a forgotten penny on the ground. Though dazed and confused, he was not significantly hurt, a feeling echoed by Lupine. Elegantly, Lupine launched out of his ball-like form, trumpeting his victory over the insignificant bug.

Of course, both the attack and the theatrics were ignored, as everyone was instead watching the turn of events involving the Vozelle. This fact greatly annoyed the young Phanpy.

Happily, the elegant and majestic gazelle munched on the outstretched food. Though initially wary of Maji's presence - she was not eager to interact with humans - the Vozelle was put at ease from the large presence of Pokemon around him. 'Maybe he's not so bad...' she thought. Judging by the loud roar coming from behind the brush, however, it seemed that this sentiment was not held by the Vozelle's mate. Rushing out, antler's first, a mighty Stantler erupted onto the scene, nose flared at the presence of a human.

From the various noises and aggressive demeanor, the Stantler was certainly looking for a fight. Having made the acquaintance of the surprising young coordinator, however, the Vozelle was in no hurry to join him. It seemed you had another fight on your hands!
