What would become the Protectors of the Core, and the Grand Army of the Protectors saw its beginnings in 19 BBY, with then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine initation of Order 66; which branded members of the Jedi Order as traitors to the Republic and called for their immediate execution without question or hesitation. Thus the Jedi Purge had begun.
Not all clone troopers obeyed the Order, however. Those that did disobey the order, initially questioned the validity of the order, and even upon confirmation, refused to side with the government over those who had fought alongside them, having developed an affinity for the Jedi. Many also did not even hesitate to disobey the order, though all of them feigned compliance to avoid suspicion, as they had already formed doubts about Palpatine and his new Centax clones.
The Protectors were born from these ranks. Few at first.
The first stormtroopers were Republic clone troopers that the Empire inherited after the Clone Wars. However, the Stormtrooper Corps gradually expanded its ranks to include cloned soldiers from different genetic sources. Further changes in policy led to the recruitment of birth-born Humans as enlisted troopers. Before long, the original clones of the Jango Fett line were reduced to the status of a minority within the army that they once held as their exclusive province.
With these additions and the minoritization of the Fett and other template clones, those remaining left the service of the Galactic Empire; to make their own ways in the universe. Many as bounty hunters and priviate military/security contractors; but many sought a place they could call their own. Where they could be... clones.
With in the Tapani Sector they found that home. A secluded isolationist group, the Protectors began to build their numbers. Of only Clones at first, they expanded, claiming a planet for themselves. To build a society as they saw fit. Small at first, they grew, a stratocracy was formed. The Protectors of the Core were born. The first acts of this new government, was to establish a military. Army. Navy. And so on.
The
Grand Army of the Protectors (GAP) is the land and special operations military forces of the Protectors of the Core, the GAP is modled after the Old Republic's - Grand Army of the Republic (GAR).

Brigade Combat Team OrganizationThe brigade combat team (BCT) is the basic deployable unit of maneuver in the US Army. A brigade combat team consists of one combat arms branch maneuver brigade, and its attached support and fire units. A brigade combat team carries with it support units necessary to sustain its operations away from its parent division. There are five (5) standard Brigade Combat Teams in the Grand Army, the five (5) are listed below:
- Infantry Brigade Combat Team
- Mechanized Infantry Brigade Combat Team
- Armored Brigade Combat Team
- Aviation Brigade Combat Team

Infantry Brigade Combat Team:The infantry brigade combat team is organized around two (2) regiment of infantry. Each type of brigade (light infantry, air assault, or airborne) has the same basic organization. Each infantry regiment is capable of air assault operations, whether or not it is officially designated as an air assault brigade. Also, most units typically maneuver in All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) or the Heavy Assault Vehicle/wheeled (HAVw) A6 Juggernaut when deployed and operate as "motorized infantry" to facilitate speed of movement. The infantry brigade combat team consists of six (6) regiments: two infantry regiment and one each of cavalry, fires, special troops, and brigade support.
