The Active Denial System developed by the US military has impressed the JSDF and the MoD. Instead of buying from the US, the Ministry of Defense have decided to start a project into building their own form of ADS. although not expected to be finished for over a decade, the ADS will be well anticipated for riot police forces as well as the SDF. Very effective for crowd control, the ADS is a non violent weapon, working by directing electromagnetic radiation at a precise location. The effects of the ADS has been described as "The worst sunburn you could ever have." When finished, the ADS will be stationed in Japanese embassies to counter a possible terrorist attack, or riot. They will also be put into the armoured division for use in the GSDF. OOC: I was watching Future Weapons at the time i was writing this, and decided to do this. |
