OOC: I got permission. This is a last ditch attempt to save the game.

Pedro paced about his office. Papers were strewn across the marble floor, hiding the exquisite patterns and images imprinted thereupon. There was a knock on the door, and two burly guards dressed in khaki escorted a short Hispanic man wearing a smart suit and tie into the room.
“Ah, Mr. Alvaréz, please sit down.” said Pedro, kicking his papers over to one side as he gestured the new arrival towards a chair.
Alvaréz sat, and spoke, with a harsh, demanding tone. “Do you have the money, Pedro?”
Pedro lifted a metal briefcase from underneath his desk, placed it upon the oak top and opened it. Inside were massive bundles of neatly ordered Euro notes.
“Forty-four million Euros.” Pedro said. He handed Alvaréz a clump of notes. The man examined it carefully, then returned it to his case.
“Genuine.” said Alvaréz.

The suited man stood up, picked the case up from the table and left, leaving no trace of his being there. Pedro looked out his the large, clear window as Alvaréz cars departed, eyeing them with contempt that his master plan was succeeding.

OOC It would be very simple to save the game. Just switch to Mark 2 rules.

OOC Because certain members thought it was better to be realistic then to be fun.

OOC: But the point of the game is realism, and it can be fun like that. If you wanna mess around, go back to Mk.2 yourself and play the WW3 bit on your own or with whoever else thinks it's better to do pretty much what they want.

OOC Which will never be implemented because a large number of posters have already bailed and the majority of the remainder will bail too fairly soon.

I would be remiss to point out the obvious contradictions in your statements towards Brazil. If everything is fine with the game as you have stated, than why a last ditch attempt to save it?

OOc: the game is fine. The level of activity is not. Thus, we need to save it by having a spectacular world event.

That neither explains Denmark's comments towards Brazil nor explains how former active members will suddenly jump back into the game after this World Event. Will they be notified via e-mail?

OOC: and that ended up with a restart.
OOC: Because InvisionFree was not what the admins wanted it to be and the African Aid event was a big heaping steaming pile of bulls***. Hence, everyone got wound up, and game got restarted.

And Denmark, I am really not seeing what this is going to do to help activity. I agree with Brazil/China, the rules need to loosen somewhat.

OOC: They have been!
OOC: A bit. More like you decided to stop arguing about deals about the upkeep of military costs and play it by opinions.

Mark 2 - worked well. Very well. Mark 3 then came around, got too anal, and it went dead. Lesson learned?

OOC: I hope they learned the lesson, too much realism shot the cat till it died alone and without love.
Basically, too much realism killed the game and it died alone and without activity, for those who like the non-violent version.
