Mitsubishi Heavy Industries talks with Kawasaki Heavy Industries Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has been talking with Kawasaki Heavy industries about increased cooperation between two of Japans biggest machinery contractors. Both companies are famous for their military constructions, mitsubishi the Type 90 tank, and Kawasaki the C-1 transport plane. They both seek to increase cooperation and funding towards large projects together. This would mean both companies would share the budget of manufacturing, but they;d also have to share the contract price. They believe, though, that they will manage to earn the contracts of more companise if they work together, so they'd both be getting more for their work. Edited by Japan, Nov 8 2008, 12:58 PM.

The Japanese Robot Association (OMG! izz the JRA!) have announced plans to creat a new "Intelligent Robot". The top robotic designers from around Japan will joint fund the project. Designers of the HAL-5 will make the body work and functioning limbs etc. The Honda motor Company, Designer of ASIMO will be in charge of the programming, along with Sony. The designers of the Actroid will make the human likeness of the robot. AI, or atrificial intelligence, seems like a thing of the future, but by sarting work on it now, Japan will have a steady foothold on any opposition that may have plans to creat an intelligent robot aswell. The project is expected to take decades to create a fully functioning robot with an adequate amount of intelligence. |
