Project Energy 21 is the name of the ambitious program proposed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, with the goal of ending the usage of fossil fuels for electrical generation by 2030. The ambitious project focuses on nuclear and hydroelectric power, and wind turbines. The overall plan outlined in the project is a large system of hydroelectric dams across Northern Ontario, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, and over 30 nuclear reactors built across the nation. |

Energy 21 passed with flying colors in the House of Commons, supported by all parties, though many have serious concerns about the usage of nuclear reactors. The Green Party had the most concern about these. |
