The daily state-led newspaper of the Republic of Belarus, telling the Belarusians (and anybody who wants to hear its news, really) what happened yesterday... that is important to them. |

Economy is doing well! The new industries in Lukashenkahrad have yesterday started the production, and no incidents have been reported. PM Sergey Sidorsky has stated that "it is a great step forward on to national economic improvement". Dissidents in prison! Alaksandr Milinkievicz, leader of the People's Coalition 5 Plus, the main opposition party in Belarus, has been sent to prison yesterday with five of his collaborators for "agitation and disturbing order". Presumably all of them will be shortly released, or lightly fined. This was a measure against "all vandals who don't have anything better to do that destroy the efforts of the people of Belarus to prosperity and peace". Edited by Belarus, Oct 13 2008, 08:15 PM.

Bigger crops expected! The new Popular Farms (known as Narkhaz, from "narodnae khazyaistva"), which had been running for some time in medium-sized extension of terrain in Homel' Voblast' have been a complete success, as the Minister of Agriculture said. Crops are expected to raise 40% from last year results, and the Narkhaz model may be employed more widely if results continue to be so good. |
