Team "Fuck stall". Hi guys, Togekiss here. As you all know, I'm possibly the least commited Alliance member in history, therefore in order to boost that a bit I decided to post a RMT here to sort of make up for it a bit. Ok so the basic idea behind the team is to beat the crap out of defensive teams with 3 or more seriously hard hitting and well comboed Choice Banders/specs before opening up a sweep for one, powerful setup mon. Obviously other Pokemon will be required too but that will be covered later in the RMT. Ok, for the first member of the team I had had my Tar. However, as suggested by haunter, he has quite a few baaad matchups in the current metagame with other leads. I realised that my one defensive guy, Grandekip would be a much better choice, as he is my switch into these bad matchups every time anyway. ![]() Swampert (M) Leftovers Evs: 240 Hp/216 Def/54 Satk Relaxed nature: +Def/ -Spd -Earthquake -Ice beam -Protect -Stealth rock If, as I heard, you do indeed like Mudkips then you certaintly won't be dissapointed with this swamp beast! He retains similarly epic defensive typing as Bronzong and adds to the mix his own far suprerior Hp and type coverage. My main switch in to Gross, Tar, sometimes Salamence, Physical threats in general. He can also easily wall many special threats too. (Hi Rotom) Eq and Ice beam are fairly imperative, allowing me to counter a massive amount of huge threats in the current metagame. Stealth rock is almost Swamperts signature move so its there too. Protect lets my lol hard at Metagross when he blows up. Scouts random HP grasses too. The second member of my team is my second, faster Choice bander. Seeing as Tyranitar (now moved from his leading position) is usually walled fairly well by steels and by ground types I wanted somthing that could help him out by getting the jump on both these types. I also wanted somthing that pretty much resisted all of Tar's weaknesses. The answer was pretty obvious: ![]() Heracross (M) @ Choice band Ability: Guts EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP Adamant nature (+Atk, -Satk) - Close combat - Megahorn - Stone edge - Sleep talk Aha yes! Heracross is definitely a very important member of this team, not just for his incredible attack and coverage but also for his niche within the team as an excellant counterpart to Tyranitar and also as a great general status absorber for the team. I gave him max speed as after a couple of matches I got annoyed being outsped by the Brelooms my Cross was supposed to counter. Counter, by method of sleep talk and Guts! If any status starts to fly around the battlefield, be it WoW, Toxics, Sleeping moves or even the occaisional Thunderwave, Hera marches straight out like the trooper he is to take the bullet that helps his buddies in two ways. One, by shielding them from said status and two, by turning heracross into an utter killing machine in the process. So far I'm not missing by dark moves much, mainly because Tar makes such a great buddy for Hera and happens to have two of them himself, with lovely STAB on them too. He can also hit annoying flying types with a Stedge for Hera. Right, two guys fixd on the team and so far we only have physical power. It's fairly neccesary that as well as this Special offense is required too. Looking around for a nice specs user I struck upon the fact that as well as having immense destrucutive potential, the team would benefit from a bit of surprise factor too to help sway battles in my favour. With this in mind I immediatly chose what is one of my personal favourite specs users of all time: ![]() Lucario (M) Choice specs Evs: 252 Satk/252 Spd/6 Hp Modest nature: +Satk/ -Atk -Aura sphere -Shadow ball -Hp [ICE] -Vacuum wave Specsluke is back! Returning in a blaze of glory to aid my team, he illiminates all those pesky walls that expect a swords dancer. Not only that but with the STAB given to Aura sphere, he has a small chance of 2hkoing some of the less special defensive Blisseys. Aura sphere and Shadow ball provide impeccable coverage alongside each other, Vacuum wave helps against scarftrans who gleefully come in to "check" me. Hp Ice takes Gliscor, who can be problematic for the team into a whole new world of pain. His Steel Fighting typing means that he can provide very useful resistances for the team, notably 4x Dark and Rock resist, both of which come in handy as you shall see later. Truely I think that this steel Jackal is often my ace in the hole, coming out on revenge kills and giving any opponant a world of problems with prediction. Lucarion honestly has no counters (Blissey can be gay) so if I can pick the right move (most of the time) then I'l be getting a whole lotta 0%'s flashing up on the opposite side of the field. He's also fairly quick which is nice as so far my team is a little slow. Right, I think thats enough of Specs/Band for me. What I want now is somthing that can clean up a team after it has been smacked into various deformed shapes by by choice users. I decided that a dragon dancer would be ideal for this job, based on their ability to be extremely hard to revenge kil thanks to the speed boost. Taunt would a useful move too, in order to prevent recovery or phazing by any might encounter on the way. This left two Pokemon, Tyranitar and Gyarados. Obviously Gyarados was chosen. ![]() Gyarados (M) Leftovers Evs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 Hp Adamant nature: +Atk/ -Satk -Dragon dance -Taunt -Waterfall -Stone edge Those who have spent a long time with Gyara will be aware of his awesome late game finishing and wallbreaking abilities when combined with Taunt. This sweeping ability is enhanced upon by the fact that his primary counters, bulkey Grass and Waters have already been mullered into the ground by Heracross and Tyranitar. His Water Flying typing makes a breathtakingly good defensive combo with both Hercross and Tar and also with Lucario. (thank you 4x rock resist). Stone edge is here over Earthquake because I dont like being walled by Celebi even if it is at -50 and can't recover. Speaking of Tyranitar, here he is! Was moved from being a lead to here, I still love him though, the lead spot was just bad for his health, see Haunter's post. ![]() Tyranitar (M) @ Choice band Ability: Sand stream EVs: 252 Atk/82 HP/176Sdef Adamant nature (+Atk, -Satk) - Crunch - Stone edge - Earthquake - Pursuit Tyranitar is a superb Pokemon and possibly his most fearsome and dangerous set is his Choice band one. I dont need to explain again why he is on the team again do I? I chose Eq over Aqua tail initialy because of Edgequakes super awesomeness but if Gliscor gets any gayer I may decide to go with Aqua tail. For my last Pokemon I knew that I definitely wanted to add a burst of speed to the team, as you can see it isnt too fast at the moment. A revenge killer to ensure that if anything gets past pert they won't get far against this team. I believe the most effective revenge killer is also able to check threats through either bulk or typing. Two options presented themselves. Firstly was Scarftran, he can counter SO many top tier threats with his incredible typing, excellant defences and very good speed. This has gained Heatran the name of the "Anti Metagame Pokemon". However, as versatile as the lava toad is, he still wouldent fit on my team due to his compounding of ground and fighting weakness on the team. My other option was Heat Rotom, for doing the same revenging job and not being ground and fighting weak. However, due to qualms about status and also due to speed and type coverage superiority, he has replaced! ![]() Starmie [H] (N) Choice scarf Evs: 252 Satk/252 Spd/6 Hp Modest nature: +Satk/ -Atk -Thunderbolt -Ice beam -Hp [FIRE] -Hydro pump Starmie has arrived! and so far doing as good a job as Rotom, I may miss the explosion immune though:( Still providing an easy Mamoswine, Lucario, Scizor, Salamence, Gyarados, Starmie, Yanmega, Latias, Jirachi, Infernape, Togekiss and Heatran check. All of these are very potent Pokemon that can cause even the best of teams problems. Starmie also solves these problems for me. And that's that. The team. I'm pleased with how well it's done so far, however I know that it is far from perfect and so am posting it here on the RMT forum. Hopefully someone will see it and give me some help and comments. Rate away! Edited by Iluvtogekiss, Feb 26 2009, 07:25 AM.

On Rotom run Lefties and Rest talk with WoW and T Bolt, this helps you tank hit sbetter, and gives you a status absorber for sleep and Para, instead of relying on Herra for everything. For Tar, either lead with Sash Tar (Fears) or use LO Tar with Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Crunch, Stone Edge Max attack, enough speed to hit 220, and the rest in sp atk. Also, the Gyrados needs 80 hp, 252 attack and the rest in speed, with bounce, stone edge, water fall, Dragon Dance, Or Life orb, with the same spread but with Ice fang, Earth Quake, Water fall Dragon Dance. Life orb Starmie with Timid and T Bolt Ice Beam Surf Recover Could also work over Rotom, and all the cool kids are using it now. It has natural cure and helps you clean up sweep very well |

Ok. I know that Rotom can work exceedingly well as a restalker, you use it in like ALL your stall teams. But his purpose here was to add speed. Withought the scarf, half the things he was meant to rev kill kill him! I will definitely try scarfmie over rotom however. He can take status too. As for tar I have always wanted to try LO tar so if mine stops being so damn epic Il give it a shot too, fears is good but lacks what I was going in for, Pure power. (not the ability) any reason for the 80 hp evs? and LO plus sand is not fun which is why i have lefties. Il try bounce and stuff maybe, taunt is way fun though. I knew you would like the lucario. |

I don't think that Tyranitar lead is a good idea. Common leads like Jirachi, Metagross, Infernape can force you to switch out. Lead with Swampert instead. About the team, I prefer balanced team while this seems very offensive oriented, but I think that Ace Matador is right, maybe you should consider making rotom a sleep talker to gain a reliable status absorber and making it last longer. Overall a good team. |

The Lucario needs dark pulse over Shadow ball, higher BP and a flinch rate. Also, try rest talker, since its bulky enough to take a hit and kill back. 80 HP ensures it hits a leftovers threshold and gets max recovery it can without pumping to much hp into it. it also alows it to take hits better. Leading with swampy seems like a good idea, if so, use Water fall, Roar, Stealth rock, Earthquake / protect |

Racist like fuck ;D

Lucario could use Flash Cannon over something. It's cover might be redundant but it eases prediction especially on a Choiced Cario. |

hp fire on starmie is pretty useless, scizor is already 2hko'ed by hydro pump, use trick instead. |
