Ok, for the past couple of months, I've been designing a card game. I found a site which will help me publish it. I hope to eventually have an online version once I can find someone who is able to program it. This game is going to essentially take the cliches of anime and combine them. The first release will have 4 sets. Ninja set, Cat Girl set, Sorcerer set, and Samurai set. Each set will have 30 cards. I will probably also do a mix set for some bonus cards, which will probably consist of 50 cards. Each set will have a specialty and the rules will make that evident. The game itself is played much like "War" with a normal deck of cards, except this will have power ups and what not, but the principle is still the same. Each deck consists of 30 cards. Each player draws 3 cards. The attacker places character cards upside down, then power ups upside down below them. The defender then follows suit. The players then flip over the first "arena" character and compare attack power. The one with the lowest power then uses their ability first (with the exception of the Null ability which is always active). The other then follows suit. The one with the lowest attack at this point flips over their power up (if they have one) and activates the power. The other can at this point do the same. Once the winner of that arena is decided, they move to next arena and repeat process. This process repeats until the arenas are completed. Any cards left in hand are removed from game and the defeated character's goes to the winner's point pool and the winning characters go to the respective player's discard pile. Each round is repeated this way. There will be abilities that will raise or lower attack, kill opposing character without a battle, steal points, attack opponent's deck or recover discarded cards. Essentially very simple, yet lots of strategy is involved. |
