My input.... Like all of us said, it depends on the situation. Definatly at least two paragraphs. I have been in RP's where everyone is posting one line posts and those are no fun and tend to die out. However, I have also been in RP's where everyone types novels for each post. Those are terrible, because you have a scene of five minutes that takes twenty posts to get through because people keep quoting and rephrasing and whatnot what had jsut been said.... I hate it. I don't like to type up long posts, because I hate to read long posts in a game. I find my eyes tend to start to glaze over, adn that is never a good thing. I don't even read all of the RP most of the time. Only what is pertinent to my character. Perhaps I am missing out, but it's also much easier to be in character that way and not know things that you shouldn't know. :p Anyways, I tend to shoot for three or four well written paragraphs and feel I deliver pretty well on that ocnsistantly. |

God, I hate quoting. The only time where I think quoting is okay is in GM posts, because it helps people catch up if they only need to read the GM posts to get back in the swing of things, but generally ... if you must quote, paraphrase at least, or quote small chunks. No need to quote the entire post you're replying to. Lately my posts have been getting longer. >_< My character in Winged's game is going through some tough times and I've been trying to accurately portray what she's thinking (or rather, what she's not thinking - mind is fragmenting a bit at the moment) ... which means posts that are somewhat longer than necessary. Which is not good really. |
