IC: Inty A bit of hesitation fell upon his Padawan, but not too much. Slice started to circle, trying to conceal his doubts about his ability to attack his master while he formulated a plan. Suddenly, Slice lept forward, but Inty, in tune with the Force, easily brought his crimson blade up to block the yellow blade. A second attack was directed at his hip, but, aided by the Force, Inty was able to block that one with ease as well. A fury followed, with an attack from both ends of the double blade, a strike (blocked), a fake (would have been blocked), and a low strike (blocked as well). Sweat poured from Inty's forehead as he parried the final strike from this attack from his Padawan. He was making him work. And that was good. Inty pushed his lightsaber up to the ready position again, and took one hand off of it, and placed it on the hilt of his Shoto. He had no intention to use it in this duel, but wanted to see how his Padawan would respond to the thought of a second weapon coming into battle against him. Tag: Slice |

IC as Ghent Duel with Inty As his master drew back, Slice took a deep breath. He could feel his adrenaline rising a bit. His master put his hand on the hilt of his shoto. This was unexpected, Slice had almost forgot it was there. He tried to plan out his next attack, he thought if he could keep one of his blades in reserve he would be ready if and when his master brought the shoto into the duel. He closed his eyes and tried to draw on the Force, his battle skills were still a little shaky. He re-established his grip on his lightsaber hilt, then launched his attack. His master hadn't actually drawn the shoto yet, but that could change at any time, he knew. He once again began with a downward strike, and continued to strike as fast as he could, but he only changed blades when necessary and tried to always keep one on his master's shoto side. IC: Inty Finally, a test his Padawan had failed. He wasn't focused on the here and now, but on the potential. His attention was divided between the duel that was happening, and the possibility of the shoto entering the battle. Inty smiled and evil smile. He blocked with ease the strikes from Slice. The strikes were not coming full, as Slice was preparing to counter an attack from Inty's shoto ... an attack that Inty knew would never come. But, as he blocked the strikes of the lightsaber, another attack did come from Inty. He reached his hand out and, through the force, sent a significantly strong push at his Padawan's chest. The Force Push certainly wasn't everything he was capable of, but it should have been enough to send Slice stumbling, and possibly to the floor. Or, perhaps, it would even disarm the young Padawan. And if that happened, Inty had a verbal lesson for his Padawan. A verbal lesson he might deliver anyways. Tag: Slice |

IC as Slice Inty smiled an evil smile, blocking Slice's attacks easily. Slice's inadequate battle skills warned him of Inty's Force blast a moment before it occurred. It was also a moment too late to do anything about it, and the padawan found himself flying backwards. He landed on his back, having just enough presence of mind to keep his skull from contacting the floor. But his hand lost it's grip on his lightsaber as it hit the decking. A second later he pulled the saber back to his hand and rose to a crouching position. Tag: Inty OOC: Just exactly how advanced in his training is Slice? |

OOC: Let's say fairly far into it. Nearing the end. Something like that. IC: Inty The smile on Inty's face turned from an evil smirk to a broad smile of satisfaction and even respect. His Padawan had been unable to block the Force push. But, it didn't break his Padawan's spirit. A fall that his Padawan was just able to keep from being knocked out from, and that dislodged his lightsaber from his hands might have broken him. But it didn't. He pulled his lightsaber back, and pulled himself back up to a crouching position. Inty was proud. And impressed. That his Padawan was not feeling bad for himself and ashamed of his fall told him plenty about young Slice. That he was ready to resume the duel told him even more. Inty started a slow, methodical walk towards his crouching Padawan. As he walked, he slammed his heel down hard, impressing his will into his steps, making sure he tried to force intimidation into the air, even reaching out with the Force to spread that aura about the room. As he walked he reached back down and grabbed his shoto and ignited it. He brought it up, along with his full lightsaber, and the two blades made a sparking X over his chest. Still exuding an aura of intimidation through the Force, he looked down at his Padawan. "You have failed one test, and passed another." He gave a dramatic pause. "Never let your mind focus on what could be a problem for you. The shoto was never going to attack." He thumbed the ignition and the blade disappeared. He forcefully, yet casually, tossed the shoto off to the side. "Always be mindful of what is in front of you, and don't focus on what could be in front of you." He put a second hand on his lightsaber. "But I am proud of you for not being broken by your fall. Many a lesser would have laid on the ground nad given up. Your heart is your asset. But channel your strength through the Force, not your mind." He reassumed a ready position. "Now, let's continue. If you fail two more tests, you're done, this duel is over, and I win. If you can disarm me of this lightsaber, you win." He waited for an attack from his Padawan. Tag: Slice |

Fighting his odd feeling of smallness, Slice received the admonition with an open mind. He had learned that it was smarter to accept advice when given, even if it hurt his pride. "But I am proud of you for not being broken by your fall. Many a lesser would have laid on the ground and given up. Your heart is your asset. But channel your strength through the Force, not your mind." Inty put both hands on his full scarlet saber. "Now, let's continue. If you fail two more tests, you're done, this duel is over, and I win. If you can disarm me of this lightsaber, you win." "Is that all, master?" Slice said, not quite sarcastically. He knew if he didn't keep a light mind he would most likely fail. Yet how could he defeat Inty, a full-fledged master? No, he wouldn't think of that, he had to keep the careful balance between light-minded and focused. He knew he could do it. Inty had began to circle and Slice knew he was expected to make the first move. Slice rolled from his crouching position and struck low at Inty's legs. Tag: Inty. |

IC: Inty Slice rolled toward his master and sliced at his legs, but Inty was too quick, and aided by the Force, and he leaped in the air. A simple flip while airborn landed him behind his Padawan. "It's a good thing I don't wish to kill you, Padawan." His words came with a dark sound, almost ominous, but there was no threat behind them. He had no intention of hurting, let alone killing, Slice. But the young Jedi-to-be had made a mistake that could prove fatal against a true nemesis. "I trust you have learned from this? Good then. Deactivate your lightsaber, and try to attack me." IC: Slice As Slice's strike swept past where Inty's legs should've been, Inty flipped over his padawan and landed facing him. "It's a good think I don't wish to kill you, Padawan." Inty said in that dark tone he used. Slice wondered why that scared him so much. "I trust you have learned from this?" Inty continued, "Good then. Deactivate your lightsaber, and try to attack me." For a moment Slice considered only shutting down one of his blades, after all his master had said 'lightsaber' singular, but he realized that would probably not please his master. Shutting down both blades, Slice leapt over his master in a flip, trying to hook his lightsaber hilt under Inty's chin. Tag: Inty. OOC: Are these posts long enough? :blush: |

OOC: post length is fine. My only comment, so far, would be to work on details IC: Inty Slice jumped over Inty, and did an unusual attack, trying to connect his lightsaber hilt to his master. Aided by the Force, Inty reached his arm up and grabbed hold of the lightsaber hilt, forcefully ripping it from his Padawan and into his own grip. Violently, he threw it across the room. A clank and a thud followed in the distance. "Care to try again?" He waited to see if his Padawan could use the Force to send any sort of offensive attack at him. Tag: Slice |

IC: Slice Duel with Inty Well, that didn't go so well. Slice thought to himself as he landed. He heard his lightsaber hit the floor then the wall across the room. "Care to try again?" His master goaded. Slice just stood for a moment, gathering his concentration. Then he sent a force blast at Inty from behind; sending him flying toward Slice. At the same time he leapt forward and up, again going over his master, this time trying to snatch the lightsaber from his hand. Tag: Inty. |

IC: Inty Slice was hesitant, but finally sent an attack through the Force. Shockwaves of power sent towards Inty. But nothing of a serious challenge. The master was able to reach out and diffuse the attack with a Force wave in the opposite direction. Slice then leaped over his master, and seemed to be attempting to steal Inty's lightsaber. A smile cracked his face, as he was flattered that his Padawan would now attempt to mimic the move that just embarrassed him completely. But Inty was no Padawan. He pulled his lightsaber down, out of harm's way, and used his other hand to send a thrust of Force power directly at Slice's ribs. He figured at best his Padawan would now be out of breath, and at worst, he might have a cracked rib bone or two. He couldn't wait to see how Slice would react to that. Tag: Slice |

OOC: :sad: You're not going to make this easy are you? :tongue: IC: Slice The blast sent Slice flying to land on his back a few feet away. When he got his breath back, he rolled over and began to stand up. A pain shot through is midsection and he winced. He couldn't tell what it was and he wanted to pause and feel it with the Force, but such a reaction wouldn't shown weakness. About the worst sign of weakness he could show . . . aside from losing a battle, hands down, with someone who was barely fighting. As much as he knew it would hurt, Slice knew it was about his only option. He ran and lunged straight at Inty's torso, hoping the unexpectedness of it would throw the Jedi Master. IC: Inty A foolish move from his Padawan came next, as he lunged towards Inty, trying to take his lightsaber. If this were true battle, Slice would probably lose his head for this mistake. Lucky for him, this was only training. But, he was about to get a lesson he wouldn't forget. And, a broken nose would be better for Slice than a missing head. As Slice neared, Inty clenched his fist and brought it forward, directly at his Padawan's nose. A painful lesson this would be, indeed. Tag: Slice |

IC as Slice Duel with Inty Appearently his master prefered the blunt approach, one that Slice could easily avoid. Even as Inty pulled back for the punch, Slice had already been warned by the Force and twisted midair. The fist glanced off his shoulder and his body continued forward. He grabbed his master's wrist as he slammed into his stomach and pulled it downward. Hoping to throw his master. Tag: Inty. OOC: Did that make any sense at all? :blush: |
