Here's A Call To Arms's first competition; we want YOU to design your own Dogs of War Regiment of Renown for Warhammer Fantasy Battle! You need to design a regiment with a hero, who can be used in WHFB by several armies.

Marks will be awarded out of thirty: up to ten marks each for balance (are they the right cost, are they game-breakingly powerful), fluff (are they interesting and with a good backstory, do they fit in proerly to the WHFB universe) and gameplay (is there any point in choosing them, do they have a function).

Please make your entires in the following format:
Quote:

Regiment Name

Add fluff to this space.

THE REGIMENT

Captain: The Regiment's Hero

Motto: Make up a motto

For Hire: Who can hire them, and for what choice slot(s)?

Points: The cost of the unit.

Code:

Hero/Leader statline:
M? WS? BS? S? T? I? W? A? Ld?
Troop Statline;
M? WS? BS? S? T? I? W? A? Ld?

Equipment: Note for troops and heroes.

Special rules: Rules such as undead, stubborn/unbreakable, fear causing, and so on go here.

MAGIC ITEMS
Note magic items down here.

You may make a chariot, warmachine, solo hero on monster, solo hero, or whatever as you wish, as long as everything else works and is appropriate. Remember that most infantry/cavalry for normal races only have 1 wound, and most heroes have 2 wounds. (This should only really be deviated from if you a) have a really good fluff reason or b) your unit is a monster, ogre, etc.)

For statlines, remember that each race has different base stats. Dwarfs will alwys be M3, T4/5, Ld9/10, whereas Elves always have BS4 and high I, for example. Make sure the stats are appropriate to the race of your unit. Refer to an army book you know or the Dogs of War book (available linked from an article I wrote in issue 1 on Dogs of War) if you need help on your unit's stats. Units with stupidly high stats or stats wrong for the race will lose out on the "balance" and "gameplay" sections of judging. Look and think about the weaponry yor unit will use, too, and cost them appropriately. Dwarfs with heavy armour and shields are pretty tough and so are obviously going to be worth a lot more than a goblin with a hand weapon...

Aaaand here's a random example I made earlier in true Blue Peter style;

Please submit your entries by a week before the end of the month, either by PMing them to me on A Call To Arms or giving them to me on paper.
The winning entries will be posted next edition and my even be made club-legal (at WN's discretion).

GOOD LUCK!
