Drunk the bar dry as the rest of the show was s**t. Even the beer was expensive, still we had a laugh at the staffords that looked like stumpy pigs and the British bull dogs that had georgous pictures of them 40 years ago then the total genetic retards that couldn't breath or stand up lying below these lovely pictures. Enjoy the freak show. oh the shopping was good.

Sorry I just can't stand all those nutters with unhealthy dogs parading to the thousands, it was heart breaking for me just like a freak show, not just the bull breeds but many others that just don't look like they can do a descent walk let alone the job they were breed for. The huskies and malamutes were too small and fine boned the collies are stumpy and wouldn't get near a sheep let alone herd it, the deer hounds were oversized the danes looked like the had H/D, the German shepherds on display had droped backs although this is now supposed to be discouraged, I could go on, I actually had tears in my eyes (and I am a hard bitch) thats how distressing it was for me. People should go and make up their own minds I don't want to try and put anyone off, but for me I find the whole kennel club, breed standards, accreditted breeding, registering and selling of puppies all to be as criminal and as upsetting as the RSPCA captive bolting dogs, and Discover dogs is showcasing and advertising these breeders to the country, encouraging people to buy pedigree dogs and breed because it's all ok if the Kennel club say so. Have fun enjoy the show. On a positive note the arena displays are good. And off the soap box.

Southern Lurcher Rescue have a stand there this year... this is apparently a bit of a milestone as they are a rescue organisation dedicated to crossbreeds, not something the Kennel Club generally wants to get involved with.

I had an invitation to enter Sykes in one of the competitions going on over the weekend, but we won't be going as I feel much the same as Kate... I prefer my dogs happy, fit and preferably running about.

BACK ONLINE TO SAY HI!!!!!

I got to admit i had a great time with Kate,Claire, Gwain and Ade (at the bar) last year, brought some goodies for the dog and looked some at agility and flyball demos. I didnt really pay any attention at the show dogs side of it (to busy in the bar) but fully understands where Kate is coming from. As stated earlier interested to see who is going as not 100% sure if Claire and I are going to venture out especially asour dogs are not allowed to attend and as it is something we can all safely say we have seen it all before. Love2all!!!!! J'C'K ' N' C ... p.s kate was right....... the beer was expensive !!!!!

Will not be going, the organisers have been tight with tickets this year only 1 spare and there isn't enough time to post that. Needless to say they won't be getting a free stand at Paws in the park next year. I'm not paying to get in so will give it a miss. Everyone going have a good time. x
