SYNOPSIS All powers are divided into groups according to how the behave; common traits between them. There are three main groups followed by four subgroups. The three main groups are known as the power's Classification; Alpha, Beta and Gamma. The second division is called the Category. This group consists of Active and Passive powers within the Classification. The third group determines if the power is Offensive or Defensive. This is known as the Branch. THE GROUPS EXPLAINED CLASSIFICATION The primary division known as the Classification divides the powers based on their evolution from Power Levels One to Twelve. Despite the more common use for the Classification names, they do not depict the importance of one group over another. They are simply the name of the group the power falls under. Alpha Class: Alpha Class powers have many manifestations that are not really linked to the original power as much as a Beta class manifestation is. Unlike Beta class powers, the manifestation can occur at total random. Sometimes, not all the manifestation will occur, and they may not even occur in the set order that seems typical through previous documentation of the power. Beta Class: Beta Class powers are probably the more common powers. They have a few different manifestations that are directly linked to the original power in some form. The acquisition of each manifestation is evenly distributed throughout the power levels. For example, if there are two manifestations, the first will be acquired at level four, the second at level eight. Gamma Class: A Gamma Class power essentially has no manifestation powers within itself. It remains the same basic power throughout the entire power level lifespan. It simply grows stronger and stronger, the owner gaining more and more control over the power. CATEGORY The two groups known as the Category divide the powers further into passive or active powers. Active powers have visible effects such as levitation or force fields. When the power is used, there is something visible which proves that it is being used. Passive powers have no physical proof that they are being used. Powers such as telepathy and empathy are good examples of passive powers. BRANCH The final group powers are divided into is the Branch. This distinguishes between offensive and defensive powers. Offensive powers have an effect on the target whereas defensive powers tend to protect the owner of the power. POWER LEVEL SYSTEM As with many RPG's with powers, we have a level system in place to give guidelines as to what each power is capable of. Each power, however, is on its own in regards to growth. In other words, the overall power level of each person is not necessarily the limitations of each ability. The overall power level of each person is the lowest level achieved for any of the abilities. Example: Telekinesis: Level Three Hypnosis: Level Four Empathy: Level Two The official Power Level would be Two, but the other abilities still will be at the Levels indicated. Documentation of these abilities and how powerful they are will be logged in the Character Index. This will be a forum which contains threads, each dedicated to each character within the board, that outlines their abilities specifically to them. Since each power in the Powers List is only a guideline, individual powers will vary. This forum will be updated regularly outlining each ability's limitations. |
