An eerie stare down commenced between the two, even the insects became quiet as the event transpired as if frozen in anticipation. “Father” the killer said killing the silence “ You are my father”. The fear struck man retorted “My son died years ago, your kind killed him, and drug him off with his mother”. The killer fell to his knees and shouted “father, I thought they killed you, and Mom, the last I saw you, you were face down in a puddle blood. How are you alive father, by the grace of God how do you walk the earth?” The father replied “The neighbors heard your mothers screamed and called the police, I narrowly escaped death you bloody bastard, enough messing with my mind killer, end it, end it all, I watched your kind kill my wife with her own blood drenched decapitated ear, I beg that you do the same to me you heartless fool. The son then said “Father, where was your son struck that caused him to fall to the earth whimpering?” To that the father rejoined as if infuriated “The shoulder you mongrel, the shoulder” With that the Son removed his black upper coverings and displayed the scare set upon his back shoulder blade. He quietly began to chant a nursery rhyme taught to him by his mother. Standing upon his feet now the father placed his right shaking hand upon the scare and began to sing along with his recently resurrected child. As the chant concluded the son rose once again to his feet with his father and wrapped his arms around the man. The father, not knowing what to say returned the favor Breaking the embrace and taking a step back the son looked his long lost father in the eyes and said “I was ordered to torture you to death by those that you have desperately sought to unravel and destroy through your words all of these years. Father, I cannot kill you, but they will seek to kill you and I both to satisfy the contract. Our lives as we know them are now forfeit. A new life for us now must commence or death will shortly follow”. |
