Version 1 Bursting through a soliders eye as he began to die A cry escaped upon that crimson slate If only, if only it weren't to late There's no time No time to repay the crime A city crumbled throughout his mind Yet nothing could he find Only a soiled rag covering his bag As his body began to sag Version 2 Bursting through a soliders eye As he laid about to die For there's not time No time to repay the crime Only a crumbling city sat upon his mind Yet nothing could he find Only a bloodstained rag Protecting his bag As his body began to sag Version 3 Bursting through a soliders eye As he laid about to die Lacking the time The time to repay the crime Only a crumbling city sat upon his mind Yet nothing could he find Only a bloodstained rag Protecting his bag As his body began to sag |
