Character Name: Chloe Chase Age: 18 Gender: Female Type: Weapon Partnered? Not yet Image: I will add one when I draw one and can get access to a scanner. Clothing and description: Chloe is five feet, six inches tall and is of average weight with a normal body mass index. Her feet, when she takes her boots off, are calloused because she prefers to walk everywhere. Her skin is pale, freckled, and easily flushed. She frequently has dark circles around her eyes because of problems falling and staying asleep. She has rather stubby fingers. This is not helped by the fact that she consistently chews on her nails which has made the tips of her fingers grow rounded. Her dark brown hair is constantly messy. Some parts are straighter, some parts are curlier, none of them cooperate. She keeps it cut an inch or so past her shoulders. She has blue eyes with long eyelashes and eyebrows that are thicker than she would like them to be. Chloe usually wears a long, black coat that reaches down past her knees. It has large pockets that she frequently stuffs her hands into. She always leaves it open since it doesn’t have any buttons or fasteners of any kind. Underneath it, she wears an embroidered bodice over an off-white blouse. The blouse is the kind that is slipped over the head with long sleeves that are slightly puffy along the arm and gathered at the wrist. She wears black pants tucked into brown, knee high boots with the tops folded over. For lack of a better term, she wears pirate boots. She has fondness for scarves and tends to wear them around her waist. When it’s warm out, she wears clothing more suited to the weather such as a skirt and tank top. She also wears glasses with a thin, metal frame. They are often crooked. As a weapon, Chloe is a double bladed battle axe. The blades are curved and elegant, good for slicing when being swung. She cannot be used to chop wood. Her handle is three feet long with leather straps wrapped around part of it to help with grip. The bottom of the her handle is slightly wider than the rest of it. While in mostly human form, she can transform her arms into blades, but she can’t fight very well like that. History: Chloe’s father comes from a family of weapons. However, his father (her grandfather) and a couple of his brothers hurt people including him. He has never been able to move past that. His wife and two of their children are normal humans, but his eldest daughter, Chloe, was born a weapon. He loved her dearly. She loved him very much too. They read together, they travelled together, they went for walks together. They talked for hours. They shared so many interests and had such similar personalities that, looking back, she would still consider him the best friend she had ever had. Most of her interests now are the same ones she had then. Unfortunately, they were a little too similar for him to handle. Also, he had a tendency to blow up at her mother. Chloe, who naturally had a protective streak as the oldest of her siblings, would try to defend her mother and he would turn his attention on her instead. Sometimes, they would blow up into arguments that left her in tears. It was during one of these fights that she first turned into a battle axe. He was afraid of her because she was a weapon like him and like his father and brothers. Sometimes, he forgot to see her and saw them instead. He was afraid, so he hurt her. The pain he held inside because of what had happened to him was too much for him to deal with and, over time, it grew. Chloe was confused, scared, and sad. She did not understand what was happening. She thought it was her fault. He hurt her more and more often until, finally, there was nothing left of the father/daughter relationship they once had. On top of that, the rest of the family also began to hurt her. They figured that as long as his attention was on her and her mistakes, they would be safe. Her father was consumed by the madness because of his fear and Chloe could feel herself going mad as well. Her previously high grades in school plummeted. Although her friendships were usually rocky due to her eccentric personality and habits, at this time, she could not maintain friendships at all. Home became somewhere to fear. School, which she had previosuly liked, became a place of loneliness and failure. She was felt paralyzed by fear and did not know how to control her anger. She tried to stop everything, to sleep forever, so that the pain would stop. But she lived. It was then that she learned a very important lesson about herself: she loved life. There was no way she was going to give it up. She loved her sanity. She decided she would do everything she could to get it back and maintain it. She likes herself. She decided she would do everything she could to be the best she could be and have the life she wants. She decided she was not going to let her family hurt her anymore. It was heart breaking for her because she still loved them. She wished and hoped that, one day, things would go back to the way things were when she was little. However, if she stayed with them any longer, she knew she would go insane. She could not stay anyway. It was getting more and more dangerous to be around her father. She left. She did not have enough money for a place to live at first, but she had friends and relatives who let her stay with them. She hated imposing on them, but she did. During this time, she learnt how to channel her anger as motivation. She developed an obsession with psychology. Eventually, she figured out what she wanted to do with her life and decided to make her way to Death City to join Shibusen. Her aunt loaned her some money so she could take the train there. Personality: Chloe is very ambitious and is obsessed with power (in all it's forms). She has a very clear definition of what power and strength mean to her. To her, it means having the courage to face problems rather than running from them or letting them control oneself. It means having good self esteem and personal power. She decided to join Shibusen for three reasons. One reason is to gain power by becoming a Death scythe. The second is because she thinks those who choose to hurt others are weak and make it easier for those they hurt to be weak which causes a vicious cycle. This is not necessarily the case, but it is how she sees it most of the time due to what happened in her family. The third is that she is afraid of madness. She hates not feeling in control of herself. When the world around her is crazy, she can feel herself slipping, so she works hard to try to prevent the world from falling into madness. She strives to be the best she can possibly be. She is not there yet and she doesn’t think she will ever be. She is ok with that. In fact, she really likes that there is always room for improvement. She loves to fight. This includes fighting her own flaws and her own fear. In physical fights, although she likes them, she has to face her fear of dying. She likes challenges. Sometimes, she gets discouraged and upset, but she is also really stubborn and tends to stick with things just so she can beat them. She is really hard on herself whenever she makes a mistake or is unable to do something. She hates being useless. She is a very fearful and insecure person, but she knows that real power is to face those fears and refuse to let them define her. Because of her obsession with power/strength, that is exactly what she strives to do. Chloe loves life. She has a very enthusiastic view of the world and wants to learn everything she possibly can. She really likes science, history, anthropology, languages, stories, and is more than a little obsessed with brains/minds/souls. She is very curious. She also really likes beauty. She finds the world fascinating to a degree that sometimes comes off as weird. She tries to be friendly. She mostly succeeds. However, her eccentric nature does sometimes put people off. She doesn't understand concepts that everyone else seems to (ex: gender roles, what the heck a "prep" is, why popular kids call themselves "rejects," and why humans don't count as animals in questions like "what is your favourite animal.") She can also be a little too intense due to her emotions. She is a very passionate person. Her paranoia has a tendency to kick in when interacting with other people. She is insecure and afraid of rejection. She gets along best with people who also love life and are interested in learning. She is horrible at coming up with new ideas. Strategy is not something she is able to do. She is especially bad at thinking quickly and it gets worse the more emotional she is. As a result, she prefers to look to other people to make decisions and to come up with strategies. She is intelligent, however, and she does do well in school when her personal life doesn’t hamper her. She just needs more time to think and usually needs to write down her work rather than doing it in her head. Abilities: Technique Name: Full Transformation Effects/Description: She can turn completely into a battle axe and be used by a meister. Technique Name: Partial Transformation Effects/Description: One or both of her arms can become blades. She has some limited fighting ability in this form, but it is not very useful. Combat Style: If she was wielding herself, she would be a berserker and she would probably get herself killed. Thankfully, she prefers to be wielded by a meister. In her partial transformation, she can block attacks with less damage than she would with human arms. If she ran into them sideways, she could probably cut someone (if, for some reason, they didn’t block her although being blocked is a more likely scenario). Miscellaneous Information: She prefers to walk for an hour than take a bus for ten minutes. She doesn’t know why. If asked, she will say she “just likes walking.” She bites her nails and the skin around them. She has trouble sleeping because of racing thoughts. Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Roleplay Sample: Chloe squinted against the bright light of the sun. She was pretty sure her pupils contracted as much as they could. She drew a hand from her pocket to shade her eyes so she could read the street signs. She sighed. Darn sun. Why did it have to be so bright today? She slid her hand back in her pocket and strolled along the street. She passed under the shadow of some buildings and smiled, glad her eyes could get a rest. She gazed around curiously. Her steps slowed so she could take the time to examine and admire her surroundings. She had only arrived in Death City that day and she already knew she loved it. The sky was so blue. The sun, although brighter than she liked today, had a huge smile. Most of the people she had passed so far were very friendly and welcoming. The streets were made of cobble stones. She was tempted to giggle in happiness, but decided against it. She did not want people to think she was weird her first day there. Speaking of which, she had no idea where she was going to spend her first night in the city. She pulled one of her hands out of her pocket and chewed on the side of thumb. She had some money. How much did she have again? Would it be enough? Chloe spotted someone coming out of the nearby Deathbucks. She took her thumb out of her mouth. “Excuse me,” she called and waved to get his attention. “Where could I find a place to stay tonight?” He turned to look at her, taking a drag on his cigarette. “Hello. Are you a new pupil planning on entering Shibusen?” She nodded. “Yes. I want to become a Death scythe,” she replied. He pointed up the hill towards the school. “Then just let them know when you register that you need a place to stay tonight. I am sure they will help you out until you can get your own place.” “Oh, thank you,” she gushed gratefully. “Seeya! Have a good day!” She rushed off to the school. “See you around,” he called after her. She probably did not need to hurry so much, but she was anxious to get things sorted. After several twists and turns and a few staircases, however, she slowed to a stop to catch her breath. Panting, she leaned against a wall. Maybe walking was a better idea. Yoii Aneith~! Welcome to 42~! You've got a really excellent profile here, and I love some of the descriptions and little notes you added. I think these really make a character interesting. But enough fawning; onto the modding! History: What you've here is quite nice, and it explains how she came to join Shibusen. I was hoping you could inject her history with the same passion you wrote her description? Tell us lots! Like how she discovered she was a weapon, how she travelled to Shibusen, and anything that might have defined her personality, fighting style, or preferences~Personality: What you have here is nice; you very nicely explain her motives for fighting, and her goal in life. Could you also let us know how she interacts with others, and why she joined Shibusen (and why she fights kishin eggs/witches, by extension). Thanks! Abilities: Could you move her 'fighting style' with the partial transformation into the combat section? Otherwise this looks all good! For some reason I get the idea the she might be an ice element axe, but I'm not sure why! @__@ Strengths/Weaknesses: Very well balanced :3 |

Updated. lol Maybe you think of ice because of the association of battle axes and berserkers with vikings?

Sorry about the slow reply! I saw before you had mentioned you wanted to work on it more, and I just saw now that you sneakily edited your post You might be quite right about the ice; vikings and their axes do tend to be associated! And dwarves, because all dwarves are apparently Nordic ...You've made some great additions, so I think there is just a final bit of spring cleaning before I am happy ![]() Eccentric Personality: You touch on her eccentric personality a few times, but I am not sure what this refers to. Is it her passion for power, or something else? Could you perhaps make this a bit more clear for me in your profile :3 Rules: Could you also please re-read the Rules & Guidelines? I think there is something in there that you will find interesting! |

Oops! Sorry I forgot! The word pupil is now in the roleplay. Her eccentric personality refers to how she sees the world. Sorry I'm not that good at explaining it. It's a trait of mine I gave her because I really don't understand any other way of seeing the world. I'll ask around and see if I can get back to you on that. Ok the best way I can describe it is that she is really interested in life, the universe, and almost everything and wants to know everything. She finds the world fascinating to a degree that sometimes comes off as weird to people for some reason. Like Gomez Addams from the 60's tv show. Meanwhile, she doesn't understand concepts that it seems everyone else does. For example, if she's talking to someone who's complaining about gender stereotyping, she'll be completely lost because she doesn't understand gender roles beyond knowing that, for some reason, other girls sneer at her for liking purple (or at other girls for liking pink or dancing and other fun stuff) and that boys get bullied for strange reasons. (Although they're not the real reasons, but that gets into the psychology of the bullies... Which she would get into because she's fascinated by brains/minds.) She also has no clue what the heck a "prep" is and it doesn't matter how many times someone tries to explain it, she still doesn't get it. She also doesn't get why a large group of kids in school call themselves "unpopular" and "rejects" when she sees them surrounded by friends. When asked what her favourite animal is, she will say "human" because "opposable thumbs are really handy" and won't understand why others make a face and specify "other than humans." She sees A LOT of beauty in the world and doesn't understand why others don't. Sorry that's the best I can describe it. Edited by Aneith, Dec 7 2011, 10:08 PM.

That sounds good! Could you perhaps explain in the personality section how she has trouble seeing some points of view, or putting herself in other people's shoes? [this isn't a bad thing] - I'm just trying to get an idea of her personality, so anyone who reads this can understand what Chloe is like! :3 Once you've added that in, could you reply (not before) and then I can accept this!
